An unused bit of mown grass and scrub, turned into a productive orchard/garden. What communities can achieve when they get together and decide to make things work. I like to wander around and see how the trees are growing and watch the fruit ripening- enjoying a snack when something is ripe! Far more interesting and interactive than the usual public garden. Every neighborhood could use one.!

This garden across the road from the church is amazing. If your their pull a few weeds and take only what you need. The church dose chanting and meditation everyday at 6.15am till 7am Worth while going and checking it out! They provide beautiful coffee afterwards

Inspirational in bringing out a long held childhood dream. A confirmation of the blessing available regardless of a world focused on enslavement to debt... If only we would consider what we already have at hand from a perspective of abundance rather than fear of failure. Thank's to the visionaries walking the walk. Wai A Ariki is a multicultural community food forest and gardens. the people who care for it are all volunteers and have a wealth of knowledge to share. visitors are very welcome to come and join in or just wander and enjoy. there are always some jobs that need doing especially weeding and mowing .donations of good garden tools are always appreciated .people from all over the world have visited ( @60 countries )many have planted trees and helped in the gardens. the seed for this wonderful project was sown @5 years ago and 2 1/2 it sprung into life with the first plantings.

Always welcoming and pleased to have visitors. The community here is well worth getting to know :-D

This beautiful community garden in Whangarei is such an awesome place to visit ... It's like the energy of the place is so peaceful and caring ... I hope those in Whangarei or visiting Whangarei would go and visit this amazing food Forest project ... It's defiantly worth the visit .. <3 it :)
