We had a great time at the beginners class! Andrew was funny(aptly named Laughing Pottery), patient and really explained the whole process, which made it so enjoyable. 10/10 definitely going to go back and do another course!

Delightful to meet Andrew and see his work. Terrific perspective on art & work. Lovely art hanging in the walls too, from other local artists. Glad the iSite sent me down here.

My daughter and I thourghly enjoyed our first pottery lesson. Andrew gives you a great insite into where the clay comes from and the process to the piece of clay you get to throw on the wheel. We were so pleased with our finished pieces! Thanks Andrew and Ann we had a great afternoon.

Awesome first time pottery lesson at Laughing Pottery! I booked two of us in for a 1.5 hour session and we both had a wonderful time even with no prior experience. Andrew was a wonderful teacher- very knowledgable and gave a good overview of the process before we sat down to create. He was patient and helpful as we navigated throwing our first bowls and cups. We were even able to order a custom butter bell we had been dreaming of. Highly recommend!

Fun to do. Enjoy my morning creating something new.

Had a lovely afternoon with Andrew and his wife over the weekend. Thank you so much for teaching us beginners how to make bowls and mugs. Very enjoyable and would 100% recommend!

We had the best time at Laughing Pottery!! A group of us came over from the Mount and had such a good time making bowls, mugs, and painting. Andrew and his wife are the kindest couple, so passionate and super helpful. A real hidden gem in Waihi! Thanks so much 😊

A surprisingly enjoyably and fulfilling way to spend a morning in Waihi. Worth a drive if you're not in Waihi. Andrew has a great way with people and an infectious passion for the craft. You'll be pleasantly surprised with what you end up with too. They can adapt the experience to your group and time as well. So glad we decided to do this. Thanks guys.

Beautiful pottery. Fair pricing. Many of the innovative glazes are made using local materials- a speckled one is particularly attractive.
If we weren't from overseas with five more weeks of travel here left we would have purchased some.
For $20 you can paint a bowl or mug that will then be glazes and fired.
The owner/potter is very personable. Taking time to talk to us, recommend places to go and warn us of a bridge that is washed out.

What a great welcoming creative space in Waihi town offering workshops to experience clay on the wheel and a fantastic array of works for sale by the resident potter Andrew. Well worth a stop we love our pots we bought.😊

Well what a cool place to try something outside the square. Andrew teaches you the basics and shows you how it’s done. Your then let loose on a wheel to show your new skills! In my case his constant attention saved me killing too much clay and ultimately lead to me producing an article worth glazing and firing. Highly recommend this experience if your passing through Waihi 👍

Funnest weekend activity with friends. Super reasonable, very patient teacher who made the whole experience really enjoyable. Would 100% do again and 100% recommend.

Andrew is such a beautiful hearted person.he allowed me to create something for my bestie Sammy whom I had to have put to sleep.it also has a spiritual connection as it has sand from Spirits Bay,Northland mixed into the clay.Im a Northlander by birth and when I pass away I want my ashes scattered there.Id recommend Laughing Pottery to anyone who would like to learn the art themselves.😊💖🌹

It is just amazing....! You can still feel the love in each of these master pieces. So much great visual perfection in none perfection. It is real hard to decide which one to pick for yourself.
