Reviews of Victoria Street Car Park
A.
Great location for central Auckland and really good value - I paid $4 per hour, daytime drive in. Only really suitable for cars (salon) as the corners are tight and the ramps narrow; take it easy! The spaces vary in size but usually lot of room on the higher levels. All the low levels are reserved parking so go up (once you go down, there's no return!). You'll see a lot of the pillars are scraped; don't be one of them! There's only one lift and it can be slow, so patience is required. But don't be put off: this is bargain parking in the central city, and close to the Art Gallery, theatres and town hall, and Mezze Bar (best place to eat and drink).
C.
competitive pricing, excellent location close to city center and cafes. Dynamic new "pay system" very easy to use just have to know your rego number and the level you parked on
L.
One of the cheapest car park during the weekday' night (after 6pm @ $2/h) in the central of the city. For the weekend, they also the there are more competitor, such as Civic Carpark..., however they are remaining one of the cheapest car park around middle of the city. Hope they have more option for the weekday in the future.
b.
In the heart of the city. Scans your number plate so no ticket to collect. Pay at the kiosk with your number plate and mask. Then drive out and they will lift the barrier remotely for you.
V.
Low cost parking in CBD Auckland. Only a minute walk from queen Street. Open until 12 am midnight.
S.
Good price for the day, parkings are small, but it works if you need to go i to the city over the weekend
D.
Always plenty of parking, just head straight to the 13th or 14th floor and you’ll always find a spot. Safe and conveniently located.
D.
This car park is in the middle of CBD. Nice and good service by the Auckland Transport. I always park my car here whenever I visit in the city. It is situated at kitchner street. And very close to Queens Street and Auckland Sky tower.
M.
Some of my friends like to drive around looking for open spots on the road. I prefer the Victoria Street Car Park. It's conveniently located to most things AND, unlike the Civic Car Park, you get charged by the hour ($2) in the evenings, rather than a flat rate.
E.
Very affordable at only $2 an hour after 6pm and very central
A.
Great location for cbd, much cheaper that most other options.
J.
Handy location but always overpriced parking at Wilson's in Auckland
P.
Like many carparks the space is tight and it's easy to damage your car. The spaces are small and the walls, columns etc make getting into and out of vehicles is awkward. On the positive side it has lights that show where available parks are and there is no need for a physical ticket because number plates get recorded on entry and exit.
R.
Good service and the scanning of the number plates make it easier to drive in and out smoothly
A.
Conveniently located with good amount of public parking spaces. Greatly priced, especially on weekends. Ramps are quite narrow so can be challenging to drive around the space, not to mention that every now and then, some drivers will ignore the no entry signs so might be head-to-head with them. The ticketless system works well for us.
A.
Parked for a bit more than an hour, was charged for $4, not bad. Hard to find a spot at first levels, but there are a bunch of them and you get more and more empty spaces as you go up.
I.
Great location for parking. Parking spaces are abit narrow and need to have good driving skills to go through different levels. Barrier bar opens automatically once you drive in and recognizes the number plate. You can use AT Parking app or pay at the machine.
B.
One of the best located and best value city carparks, Victoria Street is the go-to for city parking. It fills fast so be prepared to climb, often to the roof. Some of the spaces are hilariously small, unless you.drive a Smart car or one of those three wheelers that Mr Bean had.
L.
Central location and good price to park in Auckland CBD. Keep driving up, usually a plenty of spaces above level 13.
B.
Reasonably priced and close to all you would visit in the CBD. Looking a bit tired. You might find it tight if you drive a big or long vehicle. Like the new number plate technology.
I.
Super Handy location - quickly accessible from NW Motorway, almost in the middle of the CBD, reasonably cheap rates, however most parks are so ridiculously narrow that you struggle with a little car, yet alone with a SUV and the like. Pretty much all columns are scratched, being witness of the same.
Lifts are currently undergoing upgrades, one is out, one is still going (July 2020).
S.
Usually park here due to great location and easy access to and from motorways. Old style, tight turns, dated and untidy stairways & elevators. Lost my parking card while trying on jeans in clothing store - cost me $70+ for 1 hours parking. Not happy. Long term night and weekend parking available for CBD residents is a good idea.
R.
If you have a massive vehicle and you can't park your car to save your life I would recommend you stay away from this place and save everyone else the trouble of possibly keying your car because you took up two spaces.
Besides that, this is a great place to park as it's right in the middle of the CBD.
L.
Cheaper than most of the other carparks in the area, probably due to its location high above the city. Parking spaces are tight, and the corners are very small, so only suitable for small to medium sized cars.
A.
One of the three most convenient car parks in the CBD!
D.
Reasonable prices but it is a bit old now and so has regular maintenance issues. Usually the lifts are broken.
B.
Good price central city parking.
K.
Pretty decent pricing and location, can't complain, the only car park I'd use in the city
C.
Couple of things which bug me from an otherwise satisfactory parking building. Firstly the spaces can be too tight, which causes some bigger cars to take up two spaces due to the size of the car to the small space. Secondly, the second floor public parking area only has 1 machine to pay vs the lower which has 2 machines. My other issue on top of those are hours, only open until midnight, for a Central parking building, closing at midnight is very inconvenient.
S.
Wow if you like heights and need a place to park this is it! Its also located right next to Albert park named after Queen Victoria's beloved, and a skip down to the main drag Queen Street! A very convenient place to park if you want to be central to everything Central Auckland has to offer!
G.
😊
N.
Went here to fetch a friend. Its in a good location within the city. However, the streets going here gets a bit heavy traffic durin rush hour which is to be fair, cannot be controlled by the management. The carpark spaces i think is a bit small and for some reason going out can be complicated. I only saw two paying station and during my stay the other one only accepts cash so had to queue up. Positive side is that there is an elevator so i dont need to climb a stair to go to my floor.
A.
One of the cheapest and easiest place to park. Ideal location to park if you are visiting queen street shops or restaurants. Closes at 12AM and make sure to come pick your car before that. Parking spaces are tight and sometimes its hard to ride along. Other than that perfect
F.
Bloody love this place, It's my preferred place of parking but it's quite a tight fit. The parking spots are noticeably smaller than what you would find in your town but most people could manage exiting and entering their vehicles.
V.
I would only park here in the weekend because of their weekend rate of $10 for the whole day but other than that I cannot afford to park here every other day because it is out of my budget. I love parking here because it has easy access into the parking area and out of it. I love it because it electronically shows which parkings are available by having a green light indicated on top of the free parking spot and if unavailable it will have a red light to indicate that it is not. This is my fave parking because it is very close to where I work and if I need something from the car, it is not that far of a walk ( approx. 2 min walk). I find the elevator a bit annoying to use because it has so many levels to get through and it could take up to 5 mins of waiting time for it to get to you. It is only annoying when you are rushing. For first timers I would suggest to try and park at a low level so you won't get lost, cos I remember clearly that I got lost trying to find where I parked my car when I parked it at a high level. Other then that I love this carpark.
k.
The parking lot by the skate park is full of pot holes! We dont park there anymore, instead we park by the cricket club
T.
I often park here due to its great location. Heaps of spaces. 10$ all day on weekends but it can get crowded. Best to park early. On weekends it can be expensive; its about 4$/hr if not mistaken.
F.
Good parking rate, feels like there's been work going on around the lifts for ages though, needs to be cleaned up
T.
Decent spot to park for under four hours in the CBD, just a bit tricky if you have a long vehicle.
G.
Gove yourself 20 mins to get parked when it's busy and 10 mins to get back out. Traffic lights on roads around the car park are biased heavily in favour of through traffic. I spent 15 mins in sight of the place waiting for traffic lights to change with very little traffic going through.
S.
Loads of parking the higher up you go, very tight driving around the car park, best for smaller cars as took our Ute and it hung out of its car park making it hard for other cars to pass, but for cheap parking it's a good choice and the green and red lights above the parking spots make it real easy to find a park.
G.
One of the better car parks in Auckland. Good rates after 6pm. Lots of space. Way better than Wilson's.
E.
Usually a space available. Large enough to drive a larger car around without stressing about hitting some column. Lifts don’t smell of piss either... bonus.
M.
Its cheap and good. But its difficult to find space on weekends and boxing day sale. Sometimes their pay machine doesn't work.
J.
Central and not too expensive. A good alternative if the Civic parking building is full. Still close enough to the Civic theatre and Aotea centre to walk in heals.
H.
Cool spot to take photos 🙂
J.
Great central location a block from lower Queen St.
Not great for large cars and even for medium sized cars the spaces are very tight. Lose one star for trying to fit too many spaces in.
K.
It's a car park building, it has many car parks and the prices are reasonable. Also, they don't give you bogus parking fines like a certain other car park operator with a red & white logo in the cbd...
k.
Excellent location. Spaces are a bit small - but you expect that in Auckland. Getting in and out is easy once you understand the lay of the land.
R.
This place helps me remember my number plate, auto entry and exit based on your number plate being read by the camera system is very nice!
O.
Not enough payment booths, staircases smell like pee and can get hard to find your car. But it is almost right in the city, is a cheaper option, and is located conveniently.
S.
As far as carparks go, this one is alright. $3ph I believe. Location is very helpful and most parks are easy to get to. Lights are available to show whether a park is free or not.
C.
Usually park here in the weekend for the Auckland art gallery. Good price and easy parking. Haven't had any problems with the pay machine lately.
C.
Complex carpark with many reserved places. Highly overpriced. I recommend going to the AT carpark right in front of it. Not as bad as Wilson in terms of pricing so giving 3 stars.
M.
Favorite car park in city. Easy to navigate, clean and good amout of parking
A.
Very handy location. You can walk to anywhere in the CBD. K Rd is only 20 mins walk away going uphill.
J.
It's a car park. Not sure what else you need to know. If you get there after 8:00 AM, prepare to go above level 8. The best thing about it is that it isn't a Wilson's.
S.
the parking space is so small, for sure you will get a dent on your car if you go here everyday. but the price is relatively cheap specially in the CBD
J.
This is a great place to park in if you're going anywhere in the central CBD area. The turns in this parking building are very tight so I'd recommend that longer vehicles e.g. utes not use it.
S.
Lifts being upgraded in 2020 so if you like walking stairs. Otherwise very handy to the CBD
T.
Great value parking in a convenient location. Very close to the art gallery.
H.
An average car park in the central Auckland. If drive a big or long vehicle, you should consider to use other car parks.
A.
Tight turns but convenient place to park when attending inner city show
A.
Maximum height is 2.1 meters. We have a Toyota Hiace Van and had no problems getting in and out.
e.
parking tarrif was ok, but the whole place is just too narrow. dont park here if you are not confident with your driving skills
G.
Gotta love the free motorcycle parking!!
A.
Council car park. Take a ticket when you arrive. Pay at kiosk in bottom entrance when you return to collect your car. Very central location. Often full though.
S.
Always great place to park, right in the middle of the City.
G.
It's easy to get to and the cost is reasonable.
Sometimes hard to get in or out. And the LED boards for parking spaces are not always working.
A.
Its cheap and always has space, but the parks are small and you need to be careful going up and down .
S.
Easy access, cheaper that the Auckland street parking and has a great number of parking slots. Never worry about your car parking here!
B.
Good, secure, low cost parking in the centre of Auckland's CBD
K.
Requires you to ascend many levels, but spaces can normally always be found here. $2 an hour on weekends.
K.
Best parking spot n the city, spots always available and reasonably placed. Pricing is normal for the city.
S.
Cost-efficient carpark, some really tight spaces - but it works. My favourite part is watching cars scrape on some of the steep inclines.
도.
Parkings always overpriced in Auckland. But at least this place has got slightly cheaper rates than others at night.
C.
It's very unclear how you get the disability discount.. We asked when we got into the car park they said it gets sorted when you pay but there was no attendent there to help.
B.
A lot of space, good parking spots. Once you enter with you car and drive down you cannot drive up again, you have to exit and reenter
J.
Handy for things I want to do. Overpriced in a city with crap public Transport. But a bargain compared to any Wilsons Car park
H.
i honestly had the time of my life up here. didnt even park the car. i dont even know how to drive aye. nah but the view is like sick as aye
K.
One of the more reasonably priced carparks with good availability, tends to be one of the first I head to use when parking in the city
J.
Still by far the best value for parking in CBD $10 for 5 hours in the weekend.
D.
Central location, Auckland Transport operated which means it's cheaper than tournament/Wilson car Parks. Gave to go up to the upper levels during busy times.
T.
Centrally located. Council owned. Upgraded payment system. Reasonable rates
C.
You can usually find a park here, but it's quite confusingly signposted and there's far too little info about their payment system and how to use it
K.
It's a carpark in the city centre. It's $2/hr on weekends and after 6pm. Not sure what other people expect from a literal car park
D.
This where all the arthoes go and take photos
But deadass it’s fantastic for photos
Great lighting amazing view
Tourists looking for a cheeky gram shot should know bout this somewhat little known spot

I.
It's great what else can I say, relatively cheap on weekends
