Great family fun at a pretty good price. Great day to hire a BBQ sit under the the sails and enjoy some family time. Rides and slides are just as good adults as the are children. They do have a warm water pool and slide until your brave enough to go down the cold water slides which are pretty cool

Splash Planet is the best Waterpark in New Zealand hands down. They have waterslides, lazy river, big pool and even jeep and train rides. Parking can be challenging, so it pays to get there early at opening time, then get a good spot where you can even set up a tent. Check their website for the opening and closing dates each year

Fun but very cold. All outdoor pools are NOT heated, so the water is freezing outside. I recommend wearing a wetsuit. Book online to avoid long wait in queue. Once you enter the park, be prepared for long queues everywhere (Hydroslides, Bumper Boats, Go Karts) and Warning: a lot of kids push in the queues. The park was first build in 1998, so a lot of it is dated. Changing Rooms & Toilets need to be better maintained. They were filthy. Plenty of CarParking and the food is good (hot chips, pizza, ice cream etc).

Great swimming park, our children loved it aged 9-11. They were able to go on all the water slides and they don't seem to as PC as other water parks. It was extremely busy when we turned up at 10:00 and had to line up for 45-60 minutes, suggest to buy on line the day before you go.

Absolutely amazing place with awesome,helpful and friendly staff. we went to Splash planet 2 days in a row and it was so worth all the filing ourselves and the kids had. Highly recommend putting this on your must do list.

Great place for all age groups. Parking needs to be tidy and of course toilet needs but attention. There should be more shade sails for the family and spectators.

Found in sunny Hastings, Splash Planet is by far the best water and fun park in New Zealand. The water activities include hydroslides, a long lazy river ride, an outdoor pirate water play area and large indoor pool area for the smaller people. Other activities include the train, bumper boats, racing cars, jeeps, kayaks, tiny town, pirate playgrounds and mini golf. There are lots of places to set yourself up and you can bring in food from outside. There is also places to buy food and a gift shop. All the changing facilities etc are clean, tidy and in good order. There are plenty of life guards keeping a watchful eye over things. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, especially for senior citizens. You can easily spend a whole day here. Great fun for all the family, highly recommended.

We came 2nd January, it was so packed and crowded! Most are from the nearby campsite (Top10).. So glad I bought the vouchers 2 weeks ahead, short queues for people who bought vouchers and booked the BBQ (would recommend booking ahead as its gets fully booked quick).. my son enjoyed so much the lazy river and the indoor pool (water is warmer)..

So much to do here there is more then just swimming, mini golf,go karts, jeeps to ride for the little ones, kayaks, train ride around the park.Great for the whole family, it is rather pricey but that's probably the norm for a place like this. Kids loved it and it doesnt matter if it's raining because you will be getting wet anyway, if it starts getting chilly outside just head inside to the indoor pool where it's much warmer

Great for families and kids. Drive vehicles, boats, swim, slides galore, pirate island, heated pool, snack bar, golf, flying fox, canoes!!! Oh and the lazy river. Awesome. Go early and take a picnic, stay all day like we did.

Fantastic place to take kids young and old. Something for everyone. Great place to have a family picnic and cool off under the many trees or water slides, tipping bucket or travelling moat. Tiny town fantastic for younger ones. And of course, mini golf, bumper boats, Can Am cars and Jeeps plus other activities.

Was a cool place to go, staff were awesome, kids enjoyed the rides and slides. Was a bit chilly when we went but other then that we all had fun. Take some time and head down to Heretaunga.

This park looks very run down. There aren't enough inflatables for the amount of people because they often get holes/deflate. There are not enough lockers and some are broken/don't lock. There isn't enough places to get a bite to eat. Very average.

Excellent family fun day in the sun. Get there before 930am to lineup. Doors open at 10am. Better chance of finding nice shady spot. Bring a picnic. No fast-food 😉(packaging allowed) NO glass. Reasonable cost if you have a Club Card (card for residents Heretaunga, Ahuriri)

We made so many memories here! Bumper boats, go-carts, jungle jeeps, flying foxes, hydro slides, tube slides, heated pools and so much more. The only thing that would make it more perfect is an earlier opening and later closing time as it is an expensive trip for such limited amount of hours.

My family & I had a fantastic weekend at splash planet, weather was beautiful & the kids had a ball on the water slides & rides.we went the weekend of Valentines so the summer crown was not crazy no long lines to go on anything. Thank you splash planet

Very fun, adventure, laugh. The right complex has got together. Only tube and mate shortage had made a long line to get in slides. Recommended.

I went for a girls weekend for the first time and it was pretty good would definitely go back again but with the family, the kids would have a blast! I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty affordable. The only thing it was lacking was somewhere adults could enjoy a simple soak. Oh and the water was freezing which would be fine in the middle of summer I suppose but it was too cold.

Great place to take the family for the day. A little bit pricey and long cues for some of the rides, but still a great outing.

Great place ao many activities for the whole family adults and kids. Amazing price nice day outing! However ticketing was an issue. Online purchase only open 12am till 9am. Actual ticket purchase and delivery takes about 5 days otherwise purchasing tickets on spot has HUGE HUGE delay of line! So prepare tickets way in advance before visiting! There are more things then just the water park. Cart ride, bumper car, mini golf(alice in the wonderland theme), toddlers play area and train that goes around the whole park Definately need whole day to enjoy all! No fast food or glass bottles are allowed in the park but they sell food at decent price as well 👍

Me and my three kids came from auckland to enjoy this beautiful water park thank you to the security guard that took my son to toilet when we were waiting for there grandmother. Had nman awsome time merry xmas and a happy new years splash planet.

Great place suitable for all ages and priced pretty well compared to other theme parks. Cold water park though so save it for a hot sunny day.

when we went here, it is summer and expected a crowd... yap, no parking, long queues, no space... but the kids enjoyed as well as the adults :), i like the indoor pools especially for my toddler. The rides are awesome, just need more patience in waiting though...

Great place, teenagers loved it, everything for all ages. Made the trip from Auckland worthwhile. Auckland to Rotorua, sleepover, Rotovegas to Taupo, breakfast, destination Splash Planet Hastings.

We went on one of the busiest days so queued a while to get in although staff were very attentive! I would recommend booking online! The day was sunny and warm but water especially in lazy river was really cold! Kids needed wet suits! Great fun though!

My family and friends loved it and traveled from Wellington just to got for a day filled of fun and sun ❤️💖❤️

Good Times. Was busy but the queues moved quickly, spent the whole day there and the kids loved the amount of rides and slides they could go on.

Spent a solid 8 hours here with my daughters (4 and 6 years old). Both are good swimmers, so nearly everything in the park was available to them. We stuck to the water park and had an absolute blast. Staff were friendly and professional and there were heaps of shaded areas under which we could enjoy the lunch we brought with us. Excellent value for money and the greatest way to tire out your kids. Will go again.

Awesome my boy have lot of fun on it. Only negative things are 1. Lockers are rip-off. They charge two dollars every time you using them. So if you open it and would like to relock it then will ask to pay another two dollars 2. Bathrooms and swimming water not clean. 3. No parking available to accommodate the visitors specially on holidays or weekends.

Just as good as i remember it being as a kid. Awesome water slides, the lazy rivers always fun too! Great for the whole family and they have BBQs available for hire aswell!

Amazing theme park for the price. Spent the whole day here and didn't get everything done. Excellent water slides and pools, loads of none water based activities like go kart racing and 18 hole minigolf, and you get access to everything for a $29 super pass per person. Really awesome place, but book your tickets online else you will queue for up to an hour to get through the entrance.

Great for families, best to go early to secure ideal poolside tables or shelter, lots of fun for all ages.

Awesome day out...would suggest any family local that had Whanau coming up to get a SP card way cheaper. But still alot of fun for sure.

Amazing family fun for the whole day

Great fun!! Lots to do for everyone. Hydro slides (multiple versions), outdoor pools, splash pad, indoor pool, kayaks, bumper boats and can am cars. Mini golf is old and tired making the greens uneven so not as much fun as expected. Even though it was busy we still found a lovely shady tree to base ourselves under for eating etc We took our own picnic but you can buy food there. All in all, a great day out.

Amazing value for money. With a variety of slides and pools to suit everyone and other activities from mini golf to go carts the day is easily filled with fun for the whole family. Would pay to bring your own food and drinks as they are expensive for whats on offer but thats to be expected in a place like this. All in all well worth it.

One of the best Water park in New Zealand. Best place for the kids as well many other activities apart from swimming. We have really enjoyed our trip to Splash Planet. Normally this park opens at the end of November till beginning of the April every year. We can say best summer park of New Zealand. I strongly recommend this place to others. Tickets can be bought online or can be purchased from the gate.

A whole days fun for the family. Great facilities. Great pools and slides for all ages. Get there early and line up cos a good shady spot poolside is a must on a hot day. Can get very very busy.

Small but really really good fun. I went (26F) with my friend (23F) and we very much enjoyed it. Would be a great place if you have children! They have BBQs around so you can take you own food, cook something up or have a picnic. Can make a full day of it and it's cheap enough entry too!!

great fun for the whole family, easily entertained my kids for 6 hours, could have filled two days! If visiting in busy summer school hols and on hot days really recommend bringing your own food/drinks in as there was one hot food outlet for hundreds of people, waited in line for an hour to get the kids lunch! Also, buy your tickets online, they are valid for any day for two years and the line was a quarter of the length of the one if you were buying using eftpos. Wait till an hour after opening to arrive and you'll have less standing around in the sun waiting.

Great place for fun, and good value for thr price. Can splend a day easily. Huge area and lots of activities, dont feel crowded at all. No long waiting queue. Best of new zealand.

Awesome place to go, great value! Loved the go carts & jumper boats & of course all the water slides. Good idea to take a rash shirt or summer wetsuit for kids as it can get cold in between rides. Also you can take a picnic. Get there early to get a picnic table

First time visiting splash planet, well worth the money. You do need to arrive early if you don’t want to be stuck at back of queue. However it did move quickly. Some of the lines for the activities were a-little long especially the go karts, jeeps and bumper boats where wait times were more than half n hour kids did get impatient waiting. Plenty of tables and chairs, these did get taken pretty quick. But a lot of areas around the facility you could place a blanket down for a picnic. It was great that we could bring in our own food. Highly recommend visiting.

Fantastic value for money day out. Plenty of options for activities both in and out of the water. Food options for the hungry brood are great value also. Staff super friendly especially the train drivers. Can't wait fir the next visit.

Awesome place. Regardless of large crowds, the queue at entrance moves quickly. All the staff we came across were very happy and helpful. We bought a chicken pizza, fries and kumara chips from the food outlet and all were delicious, and reasonably priced. The only negative was we thought there needed to be far more toilets available for the large amount of people there. Overall, a great place to visit.

A great place for a family day out. Has all the fun things to do for the whole family. From the Lazy pool to the amazing water slides. After all the outdoor activities, the indoor heated pool was extremely relaxing. Missed out the Bumper boat this time but will be back for this. Staff are also very friendly.

Always a great day out. Make sure you get there early to get a good spot in line. The water isn't heated so its a bit cold when you get in so make sure its a super warm day when you go. But a great spot for a family day out my step daughter always has an awesome time

It was great. However during the summer period you need to be there extra early. The cue to get in was rather long over 1km to be precise. Also couldnt find anywhere to seat as it was so overcrowded. Apart from that it is a great place to enjoy family gatherings. As I am a parent myself I had an awesome time. Highly reccomend. Although ido feel they néed to be able to accommodate the big influx of people that do arrive throughout the day

Manic busy day at the park, with queues for entry snaking through the car park and around down the street. Definitely needs more forethought into how this works as there were a *lot* of families standing in the heat of the sun for quite a while, which is not great. Once inside, the park was clean and the slides/rides all as advertised. Worth the effort, as long as you're going for a full day and setting up camp there.

Best family fun place where every one can get fun..different play areas for different ages..friendly staff and professional attitude.

Recommend booking online to avoid the line. A fantastic place for the day. Lines for the activities are long about 40min wait. Get in early for those. Lines are good for the slides. Pack a lunch or buy there. Recommend rash shirts for sun and wind protection. They could do with more drinking fountains, only found one.

Went on opening day of 2020 season. All features opened and fun. Staff friendly and polite. Snackfood good and reasonably priced. Indoor pools dreary. Showers didn't work, soap dispensers in gents were broken and changing facilities were shabby. Features were clean. Makes me wonder what maintenance was done during the winter closure. Would go back because our young kids enjoyed it but would expect improvements by then.

We loved our day at Splash Planet. lots to do, especially for kids. Line for Go karts was long but that's typical of any theme park on a busy day. Lines for slides moved quickly, and no line on the fast slide most of the time! (I went a down a few times :) ). Awesome that once you're in, there's no extra cost for all the activities - we weren't expecting this! Just line up for anything and enjoy it. We highly recommend. Don't forget to pick up some beautiful fresh fruit and a enjoy a cone of real fruit ice cream from a local shop (not part of Splash Planet) before heading in and you're set for a great day. Our kids favourite part: The lazy river! (of all things, lol). Shout-out to all the staff who are mostly rangatahi (young people) and were all so friendly and professional. You guys rock.

Splash Planet is lots of fun for families, especially the kids. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy waiting in line from 9:40am to 10:48am just to get inside the park. I realsie its a very popular attraction but this has been the case for years and happens on a daily basis. Surely the owners can come up with a better system to get people through the gates quicker. I wouldn't bother trying to get there early. Better to wait later in the day. More tubes and mats are needed to ensure their is ample supply at the bottom of the stairs.

Totally awesome experience. Probably the premier venue of this kind in New Zealand. Incredible number of different things to do beside the pools and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Love hear if there's something else like this out there.

I just visited splash planet with my family and friends and we enjoyed alot. A toddler section is really awesome. Me and my daughter play so much there

My whole family loved it. Great layout it was cool that the main swimming areas were central. We had a large group of kids with all ages and it was good that we didnt have to walk to far from one swimming area to another area to find them. Will warn people that the dry activity lines can get pretty long especially the bumper boats😏 I would recommend getting a super pass this place catered for all ages highly recommend!!😁

Good variety on activities for all ages. Come early, and expect queues everywhere. Not enough staff, some badly trained. Cold swimming water. Limited toilets. Otherwise a great place to spend a day.

Nice place and the concept but unfortunately super dirty toilets and showers. The stairs to a toboggans are full of pigeons excrements. The toboggans are leaking through the connections. This place need more technical and cleaning care. But staff is really friendly.

A great family destination. It may not have the scary, long and the many rides but still enjoyable. Queues to the slides were quick but the other non water rides were very long.

Was a bit cold today so not as much fun as a hot day but still a fabulous place for the kids

Would liked to rate it more however unfortunately it was cloudy and cold the day that we went there so we could not use the main equipment- outdoor water slide - and for the rest the equipments were broken or very old, indoor pool was very dirty, the water and the fgrpund. Showers were even worse. It's a pretty park, I wish ot gets more attention for tourist attractions and become tidier and clear.

A bit over its glory days. Not enough amenities given the volume of customers, resulting in queues everywhere, e.g. for the family changing rooms, toilets, cafeteria, rides and lockers. Even on a warm day, the outdoor pools are too cold for the little ones, so we’re stuck in the indoor heated pools, which gets too crowded.

Great value for money. You can easily spend a whole day here and you would never get bored. Cold at this time of year - it is a pity the water isn't a little heated in the outside attractions!

For the first time my family enjoyed it.. all the way from Papakura / Auckland

This place is so cool and the kids really enjoy it,but something that needs to be looked at and changed . As we were there today and one thing did notice before and after my son (8) was hit in the back by an adult as I witnessed this there was no time to even pull my son out if the way it was that fast ,as in doing this my son was kicked in the back and pushed back under the water ,yet when I was up the top of the slide there were 2 staff members standing there,still could have been way more dangerous, then I go back up the stairs to the slide the 2 staff members that were up there were replaced with 1 staff member that didnt really pay attention to his job either.i just really think the staff dont take their jobs seriously like there is so many people staff needs to pay more attention to the children if there is small child going down slide and followed by a adult because of weight difference they should wait longer .more staff .more attention like it's people life's in their hands

A fun day out with lots to see and keep everyone entertained. A real shame that the outdoor pools/slides are not heated because the water was freezing and none of our family wanted to use the main attraction- all the slides!

Awesome time for adults and kids of all ages. Bit dirty but I would think being so busy its hard to keep up with the cleaning. Lots of people here today but plenty of space and activities for all.

OMG we went as a group of 16 and as soon as we arrived and saw the queue we thought omg we going to be waiting a long time. But no the staff that was on the outside was extremely fast getting the queue down and getting the people in. I myself and my cousin was brought to the front as we are not exactly young chickens, which I noticed that they were putting us young ones first. I did tell one of the ladies (staff) that what they are doing there with the older people is great and that places around the country like Rainbows end and other amusement places could very well learn from Splash Planet. Yous guys made our day and definitely worth coming from Auckland to Splash Planet. We felt safe been able to let our kids run around and not worry that someone was going to hurt them. As up here in Auckland no way can we let our kids run around even at our pools up here without someone trying to hurt or take something of them. So what yous have there is peace of mind and definitely safety for all who goes to Splash Planet, something we envy. Continue the great work yous are doing and thank you for allowing us the pleasure of your guys hospitality. Till next time all stay safe

It was a good deal. And we spent the whole day.

Well worth the drive from Wellington. Fantastic place to get away with the family. Go carts, jungle jeeps, kayaking, mini golf, water slides, indoor and outdoor pools. Great place to take a picnic or buy from the shops there. Lay back on the floats and float around the 'Lazy river'. Sit back in one of the sun chairs and enjoy the sun. My children loved everything they went on. If you purchase the 'Super Pass' you get unlimited rides on everything. Great day out. Opening hours 10am - 5.30pm.

Genuinely underwhelming. It's fun for little kids for a day but I personally wouldn't go again. There are a range of things that people will like from waterslides to go karts, mini golf, a playground for kids, little jeeps.

If you're in the area with a few hours to kill then go but I wouldn't visit again. Smashed on the bottom after 2 slides and I'm not THAT fat! Busy but enough to do. Kids liked it but it certainly wasn't the best they had been to.

Fun day out for the kids. Good facilities. The amusement rides are a tad old and past there use by date. Go-karts wouldn't make it up the hill! Was a good laugh anyways. The coffee from the front coffee place was honestly the best coffee I've had for awhile!

Started off amazing but the park is showing signs of age. Needs reinvestment, new attractions and a lock of paint on everything. The food seems to be stuck in the 90’s/00’s as well with no vegetarian, vegan or gluten free options. Boiled flavourless hot dogs, kinda gross. Many of the attractions from the original Fantasy Land seemed to have been left to degrade, when a lick of paint and rust proofing would have saved many. Whoever is running this place seems to be running into the ground. Many staff seem to be losing the will to live.

Amazing! Well worth the drive down from Auckland. Even though it's so packed especially in summer its heaps of fun for all ages and at a good price too! Waaaaay better than Rainbows End

Great day out with the family. Kids had a blast!

Kids had a lot of fun . Park bit tired and changing room facilities were not very clean . Good amounts of supervision as lots of lifeguards. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of shade available even on a busy day . Lockers are single use only so for $2 you can only re enter once , can’t go in and out of them all day .

Heed the warning about Sunday being busiest day and School holidays. 3.5 hours there... bumper cars plus swim on the river circuit. AND THATS IT!!! Lines and lines of people on all activities. Spent 1 hour and 5 mins in the bumper car queue. And that was the shortest line.

Splash planet is awesome, great place to be on a hot Hastings day. Awesome helpful staff. Yummiest food, Kool rides, It should stay open till at least 6.30pm.

The water is too cold for me although the sun is shining brightly. The slides are great but there weren’t many options, suits the price. One advice, don’t go to other parts of the park barefoot, it hurts your feet because of the heat and unsuitable wooden material.

Lots to do,kept us busy the whole day. Extremely long queue to get in - took us about an hour - definitely room for improvement there. A lot of staff/lifeguards around to help. Nice picnic areas, can take a gazebo and gas barbecue.

Was so fun! had my girls 5th birthday party there & all the kids loved it & even the adults. Would definitely recommend for family outings, a day out or get togethers

Awesome place. Some areas showing their age. Need to go when it's really hot. We went on an overcast day with cool winds and the kids got cold very quickly. There is a large indoor pool but on cool days there are a lot of people trying to cram into it.

Had an amazing time here at Splash planet the best place and I really enjoyed the waterslides it was so fun and big splashes at the end. I had really enjoyed my trip to Splash Planet in Hastings I hope to be back next time in the future when I visit Hawkes Bay

Great but some attractions were out if order at the time (I.e. Flying Fox, Kayaks). If they were working then I anticipate more people would've set up in the area (which was huge open grass) but everyone cramped together near the pools

This place is great, on a scorching day in Hastings it is a good place to be. They have all sorts of things to do from bumper boats, lazy rivers, volley ball, slides, train rides and more. The atmosphere there is great and they sell amazing food. Just remember to continuously apply sunscreen as it is super easy to get burnt

Lovely place to spend a good summer. Cleanliness of pools etc & hygiene of Bathrooms definitely needs more attention please. Other than that we loved spending time with you.

It's lovely on a hotday but when packed and all the kids are there the lines take forever!! Bbq hire is a lil pricy and the shops don't have enough food variety to cater food all foodies and families. As someone who has lived here forever it would be nice if we can take food in from other places i.e kfc maccas and all that , I wish they would also consider making the theme park bigger like a new better go kart track , new pools and slides and just other general new cool stuff to excite the locals and more because we see the same pools and slides and same small dum go kart track and slow karts.

Small water world recreation centre. You can bring your own food & enjoy with your family. 3 good water slides, lazy water Stream & train to go around the park.

Awesome day with whanau and friends. Water slides fun for all ages. Lots of seating areas with shade. So much to do, well worth the money for an all day superpass.

Good for kids, but not much for grown ups. Could have more water rides, pool for canoeing is too shallow but if visiting with kids it's not bad at all.

Hi Splash Planet team, First of all, I want to thank you for providing such a wonderful summer playground that I've brought my kids here twice this summer. But it's not perfect. What I want to say is the slide as shown in the picture. Because its outlet is too high from the water, the children will inevitably land hard on the bottom of the not too soft pool when they fall into the water, and they will feel pain. If the water level is lower, injuries are possible. Please raise the water level or make the bottom of the sink softer. All for the children to play more happily. Thank you very much!

Such an awesome place. Had my son and daughter's birthday combined celebration. It was so ideal as it caters to all age groups from children right up to adults. Staff are amazing! Very helpful and communicate well. Will definitely recommend to anyone who has not yet experienced.

Fantastic!!! It was so busy when we arrived but we were so happy getting in there and enjoying every corner of Splash Planet. Spiderman walks around and entertains everyone incl. the adults - very cool! Cheerful staff upon arrival. Worth our trip down from Auckland. Thanks SP team.

One thing on our trip to New Zealand we did find was how amazing the parks are. It is definitely somewhere you can take the family. We stumbled across splash planet one day and decided to give it ago. We didn't have the kids and now feel a tad guilty, however what a great place. So many hidden treasures. From water slides including a heat pool with slide, to mini golf, go kart track, bumper boats and a train. The themes were well done so beautifully and love the art work. Prices were reasonable, staff friendly. Highly recommend. Wish we had on here closer to home.

The amount of different activities around Splash Planet is awesome! Fun for both children and adults! There's jeeps, racing cars, train ride (which gives you a look at all the activities around the whole park), mini golf, kayaks, bumper boats, and then there's all the different pools and water slides (inside and outside). We brought Super Passes which gives you unlimited access to all rides, parks, pools and mini golf - it costs $30 an adult, $20 a child (4-13yrs) and FREE for 3yrs & under. Or if you have a club card (locals card) you can get a great discount. For example. Our family of 2x adults and 3x children (aged 4-13yrs) costs $120 all up. But with a locals card it only costed us $77!!! That's a whopping savings of $43. So if you have family who live locally, I suggest you get them to apply for a club card and make the most of those savings!

AMAZING! Can not rave about this place any more! It's the best. So much to do felt like we needed 2 days there. It was so clean, tidy, well maintained and run. Endless fun for all ages.

A magic place on a hot day. We spent all day there and we still did not do everything. Of course the water park is the attraction, but even if that is not your style there is a great mini golf, conventional park to stroll through and play, and go carts. The staff are always helpful and the cafes have great coffee and selection of food including ice creams of all descriptions.

Absolutely loved both days we where here, highly recommended for families wanting something for everyone and excellent value. Heaps to do and excellent food at good prices, we will definitely be back.

The best water park we have been to. Family friendly. A great day out. Only 4 stars because the hydroslides were over controlled, there was a lack of mats and the double dipper only had single tubes. The rule that Adults cannot take kids down the slides made it difficult to supervise - but we managed to get through day with massive smiles!

Great water park (for NZ....let's be honest it doesn't compare to Gold Coast parks). Clearly got a bit of renovations done in the off season so looking much better. Good for all ages. Would prefer a better choice of food. Something other than basically hot dog and chips. Even sandwiches would go a treat! Coffee needs improvement (but you don't come here for the coffee).

Fun park. Not very well stocked with the inflatables needed for the rides, toilets/changing rooms pretty poorly maintained. Otherwise fine. Lines pretty long for the go karts etc so would probably just go for pools and slides next time

There is a variety of activities and rides such as the mini train with carriages which the kids simply love, boats ,the Go car track that's very popular too .Games are fun there as well. . Lots of picnic space for families to relax with shady trees around .The barbeque area is also a bonus too. There is much to do including swimming with the amazing high water slide. Park needs a bit of updating and the bathroom facilities need an overhaul. But otherwise my son had a blast and didn't notice any of this. Lots of different things to do , Mini putt, bumper boats etc. Friendly staff.

Great family day out. Only thing (and not bad just contrary to info on the website), we made sure we all had covered shoes with us as the website they were required for the go karts, yet when we arrived people were going barefoot. Way more convenient but if that is allowable then why say shoes are required online? We all had fun, looking forward to coming again.

Great day out, well worth the trip, only one gripe, bottom of one of the slides, there was no staff member to monitor the tubes, people were coming down the slides and not passing their tube onto the next person in line.apart from that enjoyed our day.

Heaps of friendly staff and guards around which was good to know. The water was really cold though. Other than that, it was a great day of fun.

It was ok, scorching hot day. Very busy, people everywhere so not enjoyable as you could barely move or find a decent spot to lay down a blanket without encroaching on another person's space. The queues were long and considering how much it costs to enter, a lot of time spent waiting in lines if you wanted to go on the slides or rides. Lazy river was packed with people and even the toddler pool was packed with older kids clambering all over the pirate island so little kids were getting pushed around. In no hurry to go back.

We've been visiting with friends annually for years. Always a lot of fun. We've had the whole gamut of good weather versus cloudy. Honestly the cloudy days are best as the lines are much shorter and you get far more turns on the rides. We generally go at March so it's a bit cooler, but nothing too bad or that a short wetsuit doesn't fix. Plenty to do to keep you occupied. You can bring your own food and even hire BBQs ($25) if you want to, plenty of park benches but get there early on a nice day to get one. Nice to see some money was spent recently painting the castle as it makes a big difference as there's a few areas in the park looking a bit tired that could do with some tlc, though the grounds are generally well maintained. Good place for a kids party or just a fun day out. There are lockers available in the heated kids pool building, just take some coins

Good old family fun and the kids go crazy at this place. Worth spending the whole day at and bringing meat for the bbq which you can hire.

A nice water park but more for younger kids. And don't visit on a cold or cloudy day, you gonna freeze! The slides are really cool! But my favorite is definitely the lazy river where you can just relax. I also really enjoyed the wide park area where you can just relax or play outside games. The staff that is responsible for the pools is a little bit unfriendly (the ones in the shops are really friendly!). Sadly the "warm" pools inside where pretty cold and we had to leave the water after an hour because it was cloudy outside and everyone was freezing. There are also no warm showers available. My biggest critic point is definitely that you have to pay $2 for every time you use a looker which is just brazenly!

Lovely place for fun family day out BUT I've been visiting from out of town over the last 20 years and absolutely nothing has been done to upgrade the ladies toilets.The ones near entrance are very slippery and dirty

Amazing fun. Smaller version of white water world. Rides and fun for all ages. Rides included water boats, go karts, kayaking, kids 4wd track where kids get to drive, water slides. Is amazing place highly recommend it.

Water slides are great but they need more inflatable rings. Could do with someone cleaning out the hard seed pods from the trees that can get stepped on in the pools. Mini-golf was good. They also have bumper boats and mini race cars and a miniature train. $29 for everything is a good price for adults. families can save money as allowed to bring their own picnic/lunch food (not commercial takeaway food). It would be cool if they added a deep pool with a diving platform.

Great time was had be all. The lazy river, the water slides, and everything else was awesome. The food stalls were typical fast fried food, but large portions. We were there for 5 hours and only left because the kid was flagging, otherwise we would have been there for longer.

So I am here at the park, there are 7 tables around the kids pool and 5 have umbrellas. I asked if we could either get an umbrella for a table that doesn't have an umbrella. The lifeguard asked park hosts who said "no absolutely not". Fortunately the lifeguard shifted it for me and we now have a table in the shade. Big thumbs up to the lifeguard and big thumbs down to the park hosts - who obviously need to learn what customer service is. The park itself is wonderful and has a lot of things to do for everyone.

I look forward to our family gathering here every single year! The thought of a BBQ, the lazy river, slides and rides with your whole whanau PRICELESS!!

While visiting Hastings we decided to try Splash Planet. It seemed like it would be great but it was a 15 minute wait to get in, and the water was pretty cold. My toddler wouldn't go in the water but did enjoy tiny Town. I think we will try again when he's older.

So much fun to be had here for the whole family, no weight restrictions, only height. So much to do here, slides, playgrounds, train ride, go kart, kayak, bumper boats, mini golf a heated indoor pool. Endless fun at an affordable price.

If it wasn't for the squabbles due to the non-existent queue and lack of patrolling to get a tube for the tube slide, I would rate it higher. Some work needed to refresh the place too. Overall it's worth a visit for the water slides. Water isn't heated so can get very cold if the weather isn't great. Only one water fountain so byo water recommended.

Such FUNFUNFUN. Buy tickets ONLINE, as you will get moved into the prepaid line.. Especially if going on the weekend., it gets sooo busy. It opens 10am, families lining up hour before. Line known to go out to footpath and down to the roundabout. Lots of spaces to lay your blanket out for the day. Over by the canoes and petrol jeeps are quiet grasses spaces. Why 3⭐. The toilets were awful.. Dirty, not cleaned often enough. And NOT ENOUGH to cater for the hoards of customers on this really hot busy day. SP are okay for you to take your own food and drink. They have BBQs for hire Remember Sunblock.

Really good day out for the family. Lots of variety with the pools (temperatures, depth, interactivity).Only small change I'd recommend is making the lockers hireable for a time limit rather than pay each time you open and lock lock them.

Fantastic place for the whole family. Recommend buying online as the lines at this time of year (Dec - Feb). Also bring gold coins for the lockers to secure things away. Good and service was great.

Lots of fun for all ages. Variety of slides, plenty of different activities & a toddler area. Bring a picnic & blanket as not much food on offer & lines for it. Everyone is really trusting & leaves their bags unattended - anything valuable can be in locker for $2. Plenty of grass areas for everyone to set themselves up for the day.... some bring sunshade tents. My family of 8, 10, 41 & 47 year olds had a blast!

This is one of the most fun places for families (or anyone for that matter) that you can go to in NZ! Waterslides and pools with playgrounds, both warm and cold, a lazy river, go karts, bumper boats, kids jungle jeeps, kayaking, mini golf and train ride that goes around the whole park🚂 There is also a toddlers playground for the little ones👶 and a few food and drink stalls to keep you fueled up to go all day! But they also allow you to take your own food so pack up a picnic and heck it out😁 I highly recommend the double dipper, a tube slide for 1 or 2 people that is really great fun! Please be aware, the park is only open from November to March so pick your times for visiting carefully as it's not open outside of those months😊 and if you know someone who lives in the hawkes bay region, they may have access to the Splash Planet club card which can get you discounted prices approximately 30% off😮

great family environment with alot of upgrades since I was a kid. kids never run out of fun and lots more to keep them entertained. not expensive to gain entry nor to purchase food, snacks.

Great water park with nice picnic spots. The lines are long at the rides especially in the school holidays but plenty to do. Tiny town is a great place for toddlers to explore freely . Indoor heated and outdoor pools

I've been to splash planet a few times (I'm a local) and have never left a review. The park has always been awesome place to take the kids and any family/friends from out of town. I usually take my own food in (I'm always with a big group of people) but this time I purchased from the canteen (I only had my two kids with me so I didn't need to organise so much food). I was so impressed and surprised to be honest over the presentation and taste of the food I got. My beef salad was fresh/colourful and had a nice dressing, the burger was fantastic and loaded with salad and thick meat patty and the chips were seasoned just right....So big thumbs up to the staff in the canteen next to the slides😁👍

Lots of fun for young and young at heart. Once inside* we were greeted to a plethora of slides, rides pools and bbqs which our 3 year old was delighted to see. (Along with Mum and Dad) we spent 6 hours there, and although it was a very hot day, there was plenty of shade and cover to hide in inbetween swims. Our 9 month old particularly enjoyed the lazy river. *Our only gripe is that it took 90 minutes waiting in line to get inside. There were two lines one for normal pay at the gate tickets and the other for online tickets. The latter moved at at such a slow speed, and clearly there needed to be more staff or better trained staff to deal with the volume of people.

It's not as fancy as Wet & Wild in Gold Coast, but it's probably the biggest in NZ. Kids absolutely enjoyed their time, which is the most important thing :)

Good family day out, but the best slide with the inflatable rings to ride on was closed. Also the queues for the rides took so long it wasn't worth paying extra for them. We didn't get on the go carts at all.

We got there at about 11am and didn't leave till closing time at 5pm. Totally got our moneys worth.

Great water park. I recommend bringing lunch, getting there when they open and spending the day. There are water slides, as well as dry land activities (mini golf, jungle jeeps, kids village). Great for all ages. And reasonably priced too.

A fun day out - if only they could heat the water. Also seemed to get a lot more crowded after lunch - apparently they drop the price heaps in the afternoon. Abit annoying given we paid full price as the lines for rides were long when we got to them. But still had a good time with kids. Note if you join the splash club, you get in for close to half the price.

Took me back to my childhood days of Fantasy land. Had not changed much and most attractions were unchanged from 30 years ago. The pools were a cool addition and when I say cool it was. Hot summer's day and the water was freezing. Seems everyone I talk to that has been there has the same complaint. Take a wetsuit and you will have a fantastic day.

Fantastic swimming complex, the kid's absolutely loved it. Disappointed that only an hour after opening we were told there were no longer any BBQs for hire.

Great little water park. We all had a fun full day, slides to suit most people and I really like the fact our youngest was right to use the slide in the heated pool area so here didn't miss out. Also so we had fun on the other dry attrations and playgrounds. Great for a family day out.

For the price of a movie ticket, Splash Planet offers groups with kids (or children-at-heart) hours of fun. It's not as commercialised as any other 'theme park' any of us had ever visited. And while the facilities are a bit older, the prices are realistic, reflecting real value for anyone more interested in a good time than in overpriced razzle-dazzle.

Great layout, loved it as a child. Now I bring my own child here you start to notice some areas are a bit run down after being open for 20+years. Ques are far too long.

Amazing for kids. Really need to work on the ques for the rides maybe add another cart and jeep and also waiting line to get in staff seem very lost.

Awesome place and usually have a great time but last time after paying $98 to have a fun family day the weather turned and the heated pools were frozen cold so many parents with small kids were upset. Kind of felt ripped off i had paid for heated pools for my small kids we had to leave earlier then expected even the showers were cold

The experience was amazing. From the time it opened till closing we were in the water. Only teice did we have a quick snack. We went during a busy time, and the cues for the rides were long but overall I would recommend it for families, groups, couples, and individuals

The toilet has a very strong smell of urine. The showers were really slimy with lots of hairs and rubbish. This is a water park and there is not enough tubes, people have to wait at the bottom of the slide for someone to give them a tube they've just used. Some of the staff were lovely.

My family and I went in on new years day 2019. The place opens at 10am we waited in line about 9.15am. Huge line out to the road when they opened up. A staff member came out 10 mins before it opened and explained certain procedures. He needed a speaker couldn't hear him🤔. As we were lining up he didn't explain the lines properly as he was shouting out.😣 Another staff member helped out with clearer instructions. Besides that.. what a fun day huge facility mini golf train rides bumper boat etc..highly reccomend this entertaining venue.

We took the family to Splash Planet on Friday 18th January. The staff were very nice and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was busy with long queues on some activities but worth the wait. My wife is in a wheel chair and despite the claims by Splash Planet to be wheelchair friendly the park definitely is not. Tried ringing in advance to check things out but they wouldn't answer the phone or reply to messages left. Our problems started at the main entrance where the is a lip at the door so the wheelchair won't go over it. Had to turn around and pull it backwards over the lip. Imagine how embarrassing this was for wife in the very busy crowded reception area. The so called disabled toilets by the entrance are not and can't get a wheelchair into them. The toilet is far too low for disabled use. The main changing area and toilets has a step in front of every entrance and is not suitable for use by wheelchairs. There are also steps to most activities. All in all this park is a disgrace when it claims to be suitable for wheelchairs and disabled people. Accessibility New Zealand will be very interested in visiting this park. We will go again but only for the kids sake and much wiser the next time. Pity they didn't answer the phone when I rang to check these things.

The rides are fun for skinny people who can use them, the slides are fun minus the queues. If you do go here, do take your own food and drink because trust me, their food and drinks are not worth the 45 minute wait in line that you have to endure.

Love the waterpark, don't like the lockers charging $2 after every entry, make sure you take coins people! Oh and the toilets are disgusting- absolutely no regular thorough cleaning done throughout the day, other than replacing toilet rolls. I had to ask them to get a toilet cleaned in the family room, because it got blocked and there was toilet paper on the ground near the shower - ewww! This place needs to seriously get upgraded with their hygiene status. Also, it would benefit if they put in a rapid quick togs drier - like Tekapo Springs, being a water theme park and all should cater to these ammenities. And not charge everytime u need to enter ur locker, just have set timers on them like most pools I've been too. Needs to be a bit more modernized, needs upgrading.

Kids loved it! Great facility. Could do with more slide mats and tubes though as you find yourself going into battle with others to get a tube, especially to get the doubles. Some people can get quite aggressive and possessive haha

Love the new children's feature. It's a great addition for those of us who have young children. It's a pity about the lack of inflatable tubes for the slides. For the sake of spending a few extra bucks it would stop a lot of congestion and standing around waiting.

Good place to have fun with family. There's something for everyone. Go early otherwise no parking. Even spend all day in there you will come out thirsty

Our 1st timr here in 2019 for our girls 5th birthday. Kids Loved it. Has Go Carts, Kayaking, Train that takes you around the whole park, Safari jeep rides, Flying fox, Mini Golf, Toddlers indoor area pool, Slides, Lazy river, Pirate park swimming area. A couple food places but expensive better off going uptown or bringing your own lol otherwise highly recommended for Summer time fun

Used my grab one vouchers on Christmas eve staff were great. I also used one that expired on 26th dec 2018 and no issues just paid the difference. Found the lazy river favourite of all as well as my son who is under 10. The 2 days we went there, there were no queues it was great. I just found the fried food overcooked.

Oh wow this place is amazing. Get there early (line starts forming at least 45 minutes before opening). You can easily spend all day here, so much to do. Food is surprisingly cheap given that they have a captive market too.

Visited here as part of a family gathering, was a great day with the BBQ out and everyone enjoyed their time. Pools were clean and not too crowded either for a hot summers day. Worth a visit if in the area.

Great place. I just think the aspects of fantasy land need to be taken better care of. The castle and the rockets are both in quite a bad state, and the pirate ship was burnt down and hasn't been replaced.

Brilliant water park. Kids rides down the back were interesting though very slow line movements. Ran out of patience to get on..Putt Putt was extra hard :). Oh, fix the poor old rocketship down the back and make a little park down there. Used to love that back in the Fantasy Land days.

Great fun. Super busy on hot days, but you'll still enjoy yourself. Don't go if you don't like children running around screaming because that's basically what this place is on a busy day!

I spent the day here yesterday with my kids aged 12,14 and 16. Great day, food and service. Delicious hamburgers. Nice clean toilets.

We enjoyed bumper boats & lazy river. Its was packed, spent most day waiting in line for the rides & attractions. Overall worth it. It was so much fun

So much fun for the kids they love it!! The only thing is on the day we went it was soooooo packed and hard to spot the kids. Toilets by the entrance need a good clean (no soap)

Took a group of Yr 9 students for the day. Speedy and efficient entry (120 students) plenty of area to spread out. Children and spectators alike had a great day.

First time I've ever been here. And to bring my children aged between 5 & 9, was such an amazing time and place. Worth the price and cheap as the kai too. A must come back again.

Great place and fun... however it was dissapointing to see that the riverboat/paddle steamer has gone... so too the old rocket slide and sad to have had the fore on the old pirate ship. Would be nice to see these things up and running again... brings back memories.

Heaps of fun. If your not a big fan of its many amazing water attractions you still have tons of other experience available, go karts, water boats etc. Great for a group of kids or family.

Great day out. Go for the whole day, get there early as there are queues to get in, take your own food and drink, ( coffee shop does good coffee and ice creams) and get a super pass. It's worth it. Enjoy.

Best swimming place to go to in NZ imo. Take friends and family. Go early to secure parking and a place in line to pay and quickly pick a spot under the shade inside. Blows any pool place in Auckland right out of the water.

This is a fun filled place good for all ages. The staff are friendly and though the water is quite cold it is the perfect place to go to cool off during summer.

Loved it. Suggest you be there early to get a good spot to lay your gear!! So you can enjoy the day and be close to your stuff all day!

Always expensive, over crowded, parking is shocking and dangerous...at least the kids have a fun time which is the plus side to paying so much to get in.

If you have never been to a water park then it's great otherwise it's ok. Kids liked it but said the ones out of NZ are much better

A must go to when I Napier, suck a great range of both water and other activities, only problem was it was so popular that there is always a waiting line!, highly recommend.

We had good experience overall but very long queues (30 mins or more) to non pools attractions, i.e. jeeps, carts, bumping boats, and working time until 5pm had us to give 4 stars only.

All an all was a good dat out. Only negatives where it took the staff over 5hours before they had some one organism the tubes so people could actually get a turn with them.

Great place to swim, and the slides are great. One problem is that there aren't enough tubes for everyone and most people hog the tubes unless the staff force everyone to share.

You a good 4 hours to spend there if with kids. Toilets and changing rooms need updating. There yuk.

This theme park is the best place in my area. Water slides, pools, Go carts, jungle jeeps, train, lazy river, kayaks, cafe, ice cream and snacks, and mini putt, heated pool and of course there is changing rooms and toilets. PLEASE GO THERE NOW!!!!!

So much fun and especially great for children. Can get busy on hot days especially in the summer holidays or on weekends.

There's enough there to keep you and the kids occupied, hit the bumper boats and carts as soon as you can, the one issue with the place is the water is freezing, lazy river should be renamed freezing river.

Water rides are good, however issues with people not wanting to pass on tubes etc. Lots of fun, plenty to look at.

Pools were freezing. Kids couldn't stay in longer than 30 mins before they were shivering and had blue lips.

Lots of children, definitely not an adults kind of theme park. Also the ground is super hot which is not ideal.

Considering they had all off season to have certain activities working they weren't, only reason ive rated it 3 stars otherwise kids enjoyed their day

Splash planet is the reason that Hastings is considered the "Adventure capital of New Zealand!"

Best place to go in New Zealand for water parks, had a great day there and happily make the 6 hour drive down to go back in summer.

As far as water parks go in New Zealand, this would be the best and when compared to the prices of water parks in Auckland, Splash Planet is exceptionally priced.

Great day out place it's shrunk from the fantasy land I remember long ago but it was a great experience even for a grown adult who has stayed a child at heart

A bit run down but extremely exciting day for a 5 year old.

Would have been 5 stars if there were enough inflatables for slide. Had to wait ages for people to share inflatables.

My granddaughter absolutely love it couldn't get her to leave she went in every pool every ride go again in a flash
