Planned to get away in our 8m caravan and had chosen the weekend a cyclone hit! Opted to stick close to home and needed a sheltered site...and what a lovely site. Beautiful trees, huge, long parking spaces (we fitted the van and our people carrier type towing vehicle in line and simply unhitched) Wouldn't have normally chosen here as we do like a good beach but we survived the storm and had a lovely weekend. Couldn't fault it.

Not too busy/crowded. Quiet away from noise and traffic. Enjoyed the friendly family of ducks/ducklings that strode around the camp ground at dinner time looking for crumbs. Reasonable prices. Great location near the river, new bridge, and summer ice cream scoop truck.

I chose to stay here as its next to the beautiful rose garden. There were lots of sirens during the afternoon which assume was to do with the speedway which seemed close by but overall a good motorcamp. The facilities were clean and Jolene is very welcoming

Love the kitchen and the dining area and able to watch tv. Clean. Tidy. $42 for 2 on power site camper, excellent economy. And there is no other campsite option. Lovely service friendly. Recommended. This time around it was quiet. Town square 30min walk.

Cheap as chips... Clean tidy stay cheers would definitely recommend the self contained cabins.

Great location being right by the river trails and gardens. Falcons come into the trees in the camp which is really awesome. Everything is there with the facilities that you need - a little dated but clean. Just need to sort the cobwebs in the ladies bathrooms on a regular basis and will lift the look and feel even more. Nice to see some maintenance and TLC being given to the facilities under new managers, who are very approachable, friendly and welcoming to those staying longer term and guests. If you are looking for somewhere affordable for a short or longer tern stay, to spend time with family or friends, or are passing through, then would recommend considering staying here. 👍

We camped in a tent at the Park and we throughly enjoyed our time there. The bathroom facilities are amazingly clean. The kitchen facilities and games room provide great convenience. The kitchen is also incredibly clean and has everything you need which made camping in a tent way easier. Thanks to the management for being so accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Lovely owners dissaponted in cabin first night/morning no hot water no light bulbs in shower or hand basin room only light was Toilet light which the shower was very dark at night to have a shower. No tea Towels. Park its self was nice grounds tidy.

Awesome location amazing service from the staff were very kind by showing us the room, my partner was curious how the room looked but yes ideal place for a week, showers , toilets, massive kitchen and eating area will be back again.

Good campground, dumping station available, plenty of space on each section - only downside are the cobwebs in the showers/toilets, which at night has lots of spiders in the rafters!! Some maintenance on this and the area would be perfect!

This is the first time staying here with the new managers and the experience has been excellent. Steve and Jolene have been very helpful. The place is looking great and love that we can now recycle. The changes they have made in the short time they have been here are great.

Many thanks to the owners of this place. They went above and beyond to help us. They were so accommodating. We were having work done on our camper in Palmerston and booked a loverly Tourist flat. It was loverly, warm and clean and had everything we needed. We were aloud to store our camper there for the night at no charge and couldnt pick up our camper until 5pm. To which we should have been out of flat by 10am, but were able to stay there until the camper was fixed and they wouldn't except any more money. So if ever you need a place to stay I can guarantee you will be looked after. Thanks once again for all that you did for us.

Clean and tidy. Location is excellent. Took the kids for bike ride along the river which is right next to the camp. Lido pools are also next door and the park is a short walk/ride so summer with kids would be epic. Enquiry replies were quick and efficient. Thanks team!

Picked up one of my Driver's for a lesson there. Seemed ok. I only parked in the visitor area.

The new manager and his team have already made big improvements from reception to total care and friendly hard working staff. We had a great five day stay, and highly recommend this camp✔️😜. Cheers Wayne and Trish

Awesome location right next to the Manawatu river and only a couple of minutes drive from the city centre. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, tidy private cabins, and exceptionally clean facilities. Will definitely be visiting again!

New managers are absolutely awesome, friendly and approachable .No doubt they make you feel welcome from the first step in the door.Clean & tidy facilities and family oriented I definitely recommend Palmy North holiday park. 💯👍

Lovely to see new management who have made their mark at the holiday park with new upgrades and changes already. Friendly management who make you feel welcome and can interact with guests and visitors.

Was a great weekend away for teams. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our cabin was clean and tidy. Will stay again for sure

Stayed here for 2 nights on our first trip in our caravan. Very nice place to stop and enjoy the autumn leaves. Very good facilities. Good walks through the park. Only downside was the decision to mow the leaves which caused them to be mulched. Very messy in the van and the car, still getting rid of the mulch. And perhaps a smile or two from the male camp operator. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the camp for all.

Nice park cool management super friendly and nice spot

We stayed here 2 years ago vowing never to return. Circumstances have brought us back and wow what a difference. Wonderful new hosts, very clean facilities & beautiful well maintained park like surrounds. Thank you Ron & Jan for a very enjoyable stay.

Friendly, clean and very handy to everything.

As a marching Team we travel twice a year and stay at several camps. We found Palmerston North holiday park is run by very friendly management who have taken over the premises about a month ago are making some good changes around the camp, we all enjoyed our stay immensely.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom cabin which had dble bed, bunks. Full kitchen and toilet. Used communal showers. Very clean and well maintained. Only down side was the bedding i hired, the duvet inner looked and felt well past it used by date which was the only let down. Would recommend a stay here if you with family or on budget very reasonable prices.

A couple of nights stay in the caravan. Great level site to park the caravan, plenty of room to park the car too. Showers and toilets were clean.

Beautiful setting close the centre of town. Facilities were clean and fresh and was ideal for what we wanted. If your after high end accommodation then this isnt it but if you want to stay somewhere that has everything you need, is clean and has welcoming staff that is very affordable then this is the place. Well done ! Trident High School

We found the camp managers to be the rudest we have encounted in our many years of travelling . They were quite rude and not very friendly or welcoming. The campground facilities were average and we were surprised there was no recycling bins for rubbish. WiFi was not offered.

I would like to thank our hosts that accommodated for our needs during our children's league tournaments. Very kind and very welcoming thank you so much for making us feel at home. Very clean and very respectful and the conveniences of home. We would recommend this holiday park to friends and family if they are ever down that way.

Really cool holiday park. Had everything you needed. Facilities close by, kept neat and clean. Big kitchens and eating areas. Close to the town center to look around. I really liked it. We went on the edge of peak season so got to enjoy the grounds and amenities. No issues going back again.

We've been coming here for 5 years, and we were disappointed this time. No greeting from management, I felt we'd interrupted something far more important than our arrival. No microwave in Unit, the unit looked tired and tatty, surrounds need a weed and a touch up

Lovely owners, great service and perfect location! We have camped here over the last 15+ years during the Teams Superstock Champs weekend.

We stayed for one night. no soap for washing your hands on the toilet. this is definitly a no go for me cause even on public toilets you find hand soap. furthermore there was no toilet brush at all. the kitchen has nothing you need to bring everything even pans and pots or plates and catlery. Really positive is that bathrooms and camping grounds are clean and staff is nice and friendly.

Had a great time at the camp site over the teams racing weekend. The new owners are very nice people and very willing to help with any problems

Best place to escape 15 ruahine flea drive

Friendly staff and very tidy grounds.. cabin 17 was perfect for myself. Tried to book for christmas week but i was too slow.. i will for sure be coming back again with my children during the summer.. thanks for the awesome stay PN Holiday Park.

Stayed here in a powered site as a stopover from Cape Paliser to Turangi. The grounds have lovely mature trees and are really well maintained The bathrooms, although not modern, were immaculately clean. Good value for $35 a night for 2 people. Great basic camping ground.

Plain, simple a bit outdated accommodation. Affordable for those on a low budget. Next to the local lido pools and esplanade gardens as well as new cycle way track.

Fabulous cabins and amenities. Had a family get together here. The owners offered to help us with anything we needed. Great weekend away from home

Great place to stay for back packers and campervan. They offer a facilities like toilets and showers along with kitchen and BBQ. It is located to quite and beautiful river and close to the garden. Book in advance during peak hours to get a guaranteed place.

Decent facilities provided but the per night cost is very high if you are using a tent. They will still charge you a caravan/powered site rate.

Hi good clean camp site. Walks, shopping cycle trails, river walks, gardens etc all around the camp site. Plenty to do. We stayed 4nights instead of two. Will return

My review is it not bad nothing stands out as gr8 but nothings bad. staff were a bit abrupt but not rude would stay again.

I needed a place to stay and that is exactly what I got. The cabins were very good value and the location was lovely.

Be a lot better without Covid

As a wife with a husband and 3 kids we would love to see more areas along the river opened up with vehicle access and picnic spots...we have a nice river, let's use it more for family activities!!

Great place to stay while in Palmerston North

Was handy, & had everything I needed, but a bit dated and I had to sweep floor clean when I arrived as it was pretty messy.

My partners family has been going to this park for over 30 years for speedway now I'm going with her and our kids we love this place

Facilities were not overly clean but it was a reasonable price
