Reviews of Whangarei Dog Park
T. M.Brilliant dog park with so much for the dogs to do, excellent water trough and good seating for the dog people. Our terrier loved his vist and photos have been passed on to our Council to get them to up their game! Could do with a few more trees though.

Mostly friendly lovely people and animals,
I'd say the only downside is owners who use the park as their own lunching area, and allow their dogs to "guard it".
My friend and I had to shout to an owner to remove his noisy barking dog ( we didn't know it)
Which is why I photographed the dog. Mine is the huntaway cross, rescue dog, without teeth ! A big sooky.
M. W.Nicely appointed 'doggie platground' with interesting trials, walking and simple activities.
An easy place to find - but limited car parking ensures the park is never too crowded. Well signposted rules of use, and conduct, posted at entry gateway.
Limited personal seating in and nearby the Dog Park.. No picnic table in pound or in vicinity either.
M. c.Awesome place to go with your paw friend, good and safe training places. Would be 5 stars with some trees around for make it comfy and green
C. P.Safe place to let the blind mutt off the chain for a decent run (don't be stupid, my body is absolutely broken after too many years of damage from constant abuse so I'm definitely not going to run)

I. C.This is a great idea......a place for dogs to run around, meet other dogs, sniff and poo! I have been 4 times over the last 2 days and overall I've been impressed. On 3 occasions someone was cleaning the water bath, and this evening someone was watering the trees. But unfortunately there are some owners that cannot read - despite two doggy poo bag stations (both well stocked) there was copious amounts of doggy 'gifts' around the park.
F.There are lots of facilities for dogs to exercise. We just hung out in the shade, because it was a hot day. You can take a baggie at the double gate and it's a nice place to meet like-minded people.

My puppy wouldn't have the chance to socialise and run around without a lead if this park didn't exist.
The facilities are in good shape, there's a bath, water bowl, poop bags, picnic tables, toys and a bunch of agility equipment all for free use, I feel so privileged to have this park in my town ❤
