Changed my life. Literally.
A chance meeting with El at my local gym, has led to some of the best experiences of my life. El initially trained me in a group setting with the most amazing people, making getting up at 5am (or 4am if a little extra pad work was on the cards :-)) the highlight of my week.
His support, encouragement and engagement is unlike anything I have ever experienced. He is with me every step of the way, making me believe, as much as he does, that I can actually achieve which ever far fetched goal I have set myself!
As a self-employed mum of two, logistics and life often got in the way of training. Over the years El has totally changed my perception of exercise and training. It is such a vital element of my life, I simply don't function without it. He has turned it from exercise to a life style and my whole family is benefitting from his knowledge, encouragement and energy.
El has helped me achieve what I never thought possible, to podium in my first season of doing duathlons, half marathons and marathons. Ultramarathon next? :-)
El has managed to make the distance from the UK to NZ a minor detail, he 'leaves no team mate behind' and remains as committed to my training as he ever was, seeing me through the highs and lows that inevitably come from reaching for new goals and searching for new limits.

I had always considered myself a fit person but in recent years, I had put on a little bit of weight and everything from exercise to playing with my young children was that little bit harder.
While always wanting to try a personal trainer I had been a little nervous as I am not the sort of person who likes lifting weights in the gym. A work colleague recommended El to me and my experience began with a meeting before we started any training. El wanted to find out what was driving me to do this and how committed I was. Equally it gave me the opportunity to understand the expectations of me and whether I thought I could do it.
With El it is much more than training, it is an education that provides the tools to live a healthier lifestyle.
For six months, every day I shared my weight, my diet and what exercise I was doing. With this information El would recommend tweaks to my routine. This was all about making gradual, sustainable changes.
Don’t get me wrong, when we were training together it was hard work, sometimes brutal, but once I had finished each session I always felt better for putting in the hard yards.
The sessions were well planned with a variety of different exercises to keep them fresh. From strength, endurance to speed, there was a different programme as the goals changed.
My numbers, I went from 105kg to 90kg with a body fat of under 24 and my 10km time went from 53 mins to 43mins.
More than the numbers, it was the little differences it made to everyday life, an increased strength to carry my daughter home from nursery to not being out of breath when walking up the stairs.
If you are debating whether to sign up, all I can say is give it a go. It is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. 18 months since I stopped training with El, the tools he has given me have enabled me to maintain a healthier lifestyle. All this while gaining a friend along the way!

I've been training with El (MyPB Fitness) for the past 2 years consistently. First to drop weight and build definition / muscle for my wedding in 2018. Very pleased with the results we achieved, felt and looked the best I ever have.
After that we continued to train together to move me to Ultra Marathon distances - up from standard Tri - which saw me comfortably build to completing a 60k trail Ultra in 2019.
Now, we're working together remotely (me UK, El NZ) to prepare me for the Dolomite Extreme Trail 2020 - 103k, 7km ascent / descent - once again El's come up trumps with a training plan that fits around my busy schedule, and offers enough flexibility to work in Central London (there aren't too many mountains in London!!).
During the entire time, El has been motivational, supportive, adaptive and creative with sessions, stimulus and information.
To achieve the best results, he's hands on and close to the detail, and on call 24/7 to answer all my q's and help with nutrition, kit and recovery guidance.
He's knowledgable, down to earth and an absolute ball of infectious energy. My loss is most definitely NZ's gain. Drop him a line, try a few sessions together, you wont regret it.

El literally changed my life !! With his direction, inspiration and knowledge I achieved a target weight I previously had thought unattainable with the additional benefit of being fitter and stronger than I could ever imagine. ( All in time for the big 40 )
