One word. "WOW!" This is to describe the range of their products and the level of their services! Extremely helpful, professional, knowledgeable, experienced and most importantly, understanding. The showroom is also very beautiful and allows a one-to-one consultation whilst sitting down (instead of being over the counter). Phillip and Aston never ceased to amaze! This is definitely the one-stop shop for high-end photography equipment, especially Leica products! 💖 The only downside is that you'll be spending everytime you walk in...

Best experience by far, when purchasing photography gear in New Zealand. Aston was incredibly professional, helpful and honest. I used to try and keep it local living in Wellington, but the crowd here I used to give my hard earned $'s to dropped the ball not once, not twice, but three times. And that's after I'd given them around 10k of business. Cost them a sale of the 1DXMKIII I got from these guys, and will cost them more in the future as I add to my collection. OMG!! This place is legit 100% customer service ++ Paul and Stephen right from the get go were offering top advice re the purchase of a used Nikon lens that I had on my wishlist. Was admiring a PeakDesign bag on their shelf in their very clean and stylish shop, knowing they had a second-hand one listed on their website. Asked to see the second-hand one - imagine my surprise when the helpful salesman Aston said "that is it - you're holding it". It was in showroom like condition, and I also picked up a deal on a lens. While I've found all Auckland camera shops to be very helpful, friendly and unselfish with advice, I do like the prices of ProGear and the staff (and fellow customers) are awesome - it's almost like a social hub.

Once again, fantastic service from the team. Went in for a battery, spotted a newer version of my main lens in the 2nd hand cabinet. The guys offered a really reasonable, thorough appraisal of my well used current lens and then said that, despite the new features, I should stick with it anyway and were happy to explain why mine was better. The willingness to look past a $1200 sale (for which I was happily getting my card out for), and offer excellent service and advice is the reason I’ll continue to be back again and again. Going anywhere else is a false economy.

Over the years I have mainly bought accessories from these guys and recently came very close to buying an XT-4 from them and completing a trade-in deal until a very unexpected and rather special offer came along (sorry team!). What I can definitely say is that they are always very generous with their advice and are very willing to let you try/handle gear without pressure. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful without applying any BS pressure or hard sell. A great bunch worth dealing with.

The staff here know everything you need to know about cameras and photography. They were willing to help and advise, even though I didn't have a lot of prior knowledge. They're not just trying to sell you something, they care that you choose something appropriate for your level and needs.
