K.Fantastic food highly recommended the delicious summer roast dinner. I am looking forward to trying the winter roast dinner, which I have been informed by the staff, This will include a yorkshire pudding.
I visited the hotel Ponsonby twice and had great experience both times. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor with great service and a excellent selection of drinks. I love the outside area
L.Spent a lovely evening at Hotel Ponsonby. Loved the vibe and the food! We had the focaccia with salmon mousse (4/5), trevally (3/5), Tempura prawn(5/5), Sirloin steak (5/5) and Truffle fries (5/5). Highly recommend the tempura prawn literally I can have it everyday! And the sirloin steak was cooked perfectly well, rich, tender and full of flavour. And I must shout out to the truffle fries which was legit the best ever.

M.Amazing vibe, friendly staff and the space doesn’t feel cramped. Great wine selection and the cucumber dish was amazing!
J.Focaccia with salmon was great, Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the scotch egg was bang on.
The fish, however, was salty af. I had to peel the skin off and set it aside as it was barely edible.
The dessert was nice too, but nothing to get excited about. The sticky date pudding is great for the gram but not as great as my gran’s. I found the sauce to be good but the pudding itself lacked flavour. The chocolate mousse was also underwhelming but not bad, I still enjoyed it.
Overall I’d say they’re a great addition to Ponsonby.
J.Great ambiance and service. Wasn't going to drink but when I read coconut margarita on the menu, I had to try it and it was excellent. Food also looks amazing although haven't tried it. Great place to have a drink with friends!
L.Ambient is really cool and the staff is amazing and helpful. But the menu elaboration is bad, with a strange selection of options. Don't get me wrong, food is not bad, but the available choices must be improved.

The menu confused me a little. This is a pub with a bistro menu that’s designed to share. So, sharing plates with bistro-like options? We picked a few options to share, the best of which was the focaccia with goat’s cheese. You can have the focaccia with a few different options and the duck parfait also caught my eye. I selected the squid, as I’d read a few good reviews, but it was a little flabby and the sauce lacked a bite. The neighbouring table ordered the wagyu rump with fries and that looked really good. Might need to come back for that and the duck parfait.
The service was great to begin, patiently explaining the menu and promptly bringing our drinks. While we were eating, though, it was a bit overzealous. Every time we finished a dish, the plate was promptly whisked away. It felt like they were watching us eat.
If you lived nearby, this would make a good local. If they loosened up the menu a little, I’d definitely be back.

R.A great place to go as a group or as a couple. A sensational fit out with acoustic tiles on the roof allows large groups to mix and mingle and speak without the noise being overwhelming. There is a large variety of seating both indoor and outdoor with plenty of room . Their food menu is outstanding with lots of reasonably priced food, along with an Excellent choice of Wines and Beers 🍻 . A more upmarket offering than the Cavalier down the road. Plenty of staff on hand to take food and drinks orders . A welcome change from the normal bars that seem to be around Ponsonby.
M.Felt so welcome there, didn’t feel like staff weren’t stressed or anxious about covid restrictions. Very attentive staff, food was great and a great relaxing atmosphere

E.Oh Hotel Ponsonby how we miss you. Always a great atmosphere, love the decor and set up with outdoor, dining and bar area. All the staff are lovely, helpful (and not bad to look at). Delicious food and wine menu for a sit down dinner as well as for a night out with the girls for one to many coconut margs. (Their takeaway menu during level 3 is also highly recommended) Can't wait to get back at level 2!

C.Great new pub in Ponsonby. The renovation is perfect. It has something for everyone. For those that just want to drink perhaps watch sport there is a bar and tables inside, for those that like the outdoors there are tables outside and for those who are hungry there are tables available. We ate and Anna looked after us really well with wine and food recommendations, the squid is amazing. Good luck all on your new venture!
A.It's always lovely to enjoy the patio at the Hotel Ponsonby on a sunny day - a little oasis of calm. The food is really very good and the service attentive and friendly. The outdoor furniture is a little basic and clashes a little with the old world vibe indoors but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

J.Pretentious and attracts a young crowd. Cocktails are good. The food is way fancier than you'd expect from a loud bar hangout so that was surprising. I can't work out the target demographic but it was decent enough for our group. Would go back.

I.It was very packed , busy,but it was a Friday afternoon, it seems to be the place to go to in ponsonby rd these days?? We just caught up with our daughter and her fiancee and their friends for a few drinks, nek minit we are there for a few hours ,but totally enjoyed it 💯👍
