AWESUM MEDIUM RARE STEAK AND BEER BATTERED SNAPPER COOKED TO PERFECTION. COOKED LIKE IT WAS FROM A HIGH CLASS 10 STAR RESTUARANT. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH PLENTY OF SMILES AND OUR LITTLE ONES LOVED THEIR FOOD AS WELL. OUR NUMBER 1 PLACE TO GO FOR OUR DINNER OUTINGS!! This is a really nice tavern to have a good time with friends in a relaxed atmosphere and also for a lunch or dinner with your partner. The attention is very friendly and the food is great. One extra thing that I’ve found awesome about this place is that they have Becks beer on tap which is not very common to see in other places.

I got a rare steak with mushroom sauce, chips, coleslaw and a side of onion rings. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Everything else tasted great as well. I would happily come back here!

I'm pretty fussy when it comes to eating out. But, this place really does deserve 5 stars. Food was great, think we spent $58 for 2 meals. Didnt wait long for our food, bit noisy in the drinking area but that's to be expected on a friday night. Really enjoyed our experience. Service was great and yummy food.

Great place to stop for a drink or bite. Met up with some friends and had a few drinks. Purchased a couple of bowls of chips for the table. Chips came out with a selection of sauce and gravy and all was really nice. Great staff, good friendly service. Cheers

This is a popular local pub/eatery. The place was quiet when I ate there, I waited while others who came in after me were served and was about to leave when my food arrived. Standard pub food which was fine. I left just as more people arrived. I most likely won't return but it was evident that the pub is a catch-up place for groups and locals.

Great place. Five of us dined for lunch today. One had a steak sandwich and the other four had steak, coleslaw and chips. Every meal was perfect. Generous amount on our plates. My hot drink was just that, while the others enjoyed their cold drinks. Highly recommend

We really enjoyed our first visit here, the staff are friendly and the bar is in the style of a traditional Irish pub, I ordered an open steak sandwich which was beautifully cooked and seasoned, and came with fries, onion rings and fresh salad along with an amazing horse radish mayo all of which tasted great. I had two pints if Guinness which tasted fresh and was poured correctly. I have already recommended this place to friends.

OMG just the best value steak meal in NZ!!! Apart from being really cheap, it is a huge serving especially for the price, the steak is perfectly cooked, the chips are perfect too, great coleslaw, very filling meal, and just the most amazing mushroom sauce with loads of fresh mushrooms! Please please share the recipe! My favourite meal in Christchurch - bar none. I take all overseas visitors here. Always my 1st recommendation if anyone asks. If I could every day... dreaming of the mushroom sauce...

The food is excellent and good value for money but can sometimes appear to be 'grubby'. They are always busy so you often not able to get a table for dinner unless you sit in the pub area. The meals are worth it though.
