This was my first time going to the valley inn for lunch and I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. The service was excellent and given by friendly and helpful staff. The meal was delicious and value for money. I would go back again. We ordered the antipasto plater and a side dish of pork bites. So a big thank you to the staff for an enjoyable lunch and afternoon.

The food was delicious and quick to come out, lovely guy behind the bar, will be back in a flash

Great meal, good price. Was $75 for a Big breakfast, 2 lots of eggs Benedict, coffee and 2 hot chocolates. The meals was very enjoyable with friendly service, a very clean and well presented publican establishment. I'd come back for another meal and would happily stay for a few beers!

My experience with the valley in tavern was primarily positive. Upon arriving at the Heathcote Valley inn tavern I immediately noticed an unequivocal and bubbly atmosphere which was equally shared between the patrons of the bar and the bar staff themselves. I ordered the beef and bacon burger as an easy yet fulling meal and also asked for a few changes in ingredients and they were polite and followed through with my ordered happily and willingly. Receiving my food i was excited. To the eye the meal was visually pleasing and it tasted as good as it looked which was fantastic. The burger unfortunately missed the bacon that was mentioned in the menu. However, it still tasted great and I was happy overall with the experience. I recommend dining at the valley inn tavern on your next trip through Heathcote.

Friendly staff. The meal was good and the price was right as well as 4 slot machines to gamble in the restaurant. There is a hidden gem at second floor, a huge full facilities inn. Worth the money... The size of a large apartment for only 150 bucks.

Great place to go for a meal good selection of food on the menu they cater for groups. Indoor, outdoor seating. Good parking.

We found the Valley Inn a very good place for a meal especially through the week when it is more quiet. Went on a Monday for a birthday meal and the food was absolutely superb also they had half price deals. I had the crumbed Gurnard with a side salad and chips also beautiful homemade garlic bread. We all finished with dessert chocolate sundae and banana fritters with chocolate sauce ice cream and cream yummy. " totally recommend" so go try it. 😎

I had the fish and chips - nice... I had serious menu envy on the salmon. I was really enjoying watching the rugby in Japan but with 15 minutes to go they changed channel... I then watched the NZ Maori women playing rugby league - they were "o for awesome" . 😁

We went for dinner on New Year's Day. It was very full and the staff did a great job. One of the waitresses noticed we were watching the cricket and offered to turn the sound up. It was already quite noisy so declined the offer. The food was hot and appetizing and was a generous serving. We will go back again.

One of the best places to go for a meal in Christchurch, always good, friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices. The one person who is the main reason we go so often is Maddy Singh, he is so good at his job and nothing is a problem for him, always smiling and very professional, we will be back

Tucked away in the beautiful Heathcote Valley. Staff are professional and really engaging & friendly. We had a table of 6, all the food arrived at the same time and everyone raved about their food. Go checkout the well in the bar. A definite place to go when in Christchurch.

We come here almost every week as we live around the corner but their service and pub food is really good! The restaurant part is nice and away from the bar itself and the menu has a really good variety and value meals too. Definitely recommend this pub!

Made us welcome. Great service. Had the seafood chowder. Was full of fish unlike some places that have chowder on the menu. Wife had a omelet that looked and tasted yummy.

2 visits in 2 nights missed out on Pork Belly last night and again tonight...this is how popular the place is...young waitress is always pleasant and an asset Bar Manager? Looked after our 6 yr old Jaxxon and gave him a tour of the place we eat there at least twice a month for the last few years but only tonight were we offered a Loyalty Card ...apart from that The is awesome and locals friendly :)

Its Christmas Eve and we've just joined our friends for a drink or 2. We decided to have dinner and ordered a seafood Platter for 4 and 5 ate from it and it was delicious tasty and fantastic. You really should try the Valley Inn Tavern Merry Christmas to you all

Lovely service, food prices and delicious food. Love the look of the tavern from the outside and it's in a cute location. Lost a star because the inside leaves a bit to be desired and has lots of gaming machines. Definitely a hit with the locals though!

I went here a few weeks ago for a catch-up with a friend and to discuss some new business. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The Valley Inn has comfortable seating both indoors and outside allowing one to enjoy a nice beer and chatter in any kind of weather. Will definitely come back.

Great local pub. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Kid friendly and good choice of food for all. Home away from home kind of place. A bit of sport or horse racing on the tv and a great outdoor area. Bring your motorbike! Good destination pub.

The best value for money seafood platter around!! A great variety of seafood and cooked to perfection!! The salad that came with it was also tasty, fresh and crisp with a very nice dressing to top it off. The other diners around looked to have some pretty nice looking fare also. Lots of historical photos adorn the walls and the well in the middle of the bar an interesting sight!! The owner, Deano Calvert a top fella also!

What a fabulous birthday lunch we celebrated today at Heathcote's Valley Inn Tavern. A yummy Sunday lunch, delicious Affogato dessert and brilliant service, as usual. We will be back!! 😃

this place goes off ! very old history here but a brand- building. a real locals meeting place with plenty of room inside and a shady courtyard. chilled jugs& glasses.

Doing raffles for in laws. Great place but I am not a drinker so only come down two or three times a year. Dean's a great guy though.

It's a little thing, but when the menu says 'eggs' for the Big Breakfast we expected two, not one. When I asked at payment, no apology, and confirmed that it was intentional. Weird. Strange thing to skimp on.

Its a decent restaurant. Has limited tables but the food is good, I tried fish - it was pretty good.. You should also try the dates pudding.
