R.In for lunch Sunday. Excellent all round, service, food and quirky ambience were terrific. The beers were cold, the wine well enjoyed and the coffee hot. Meals of Shroom Burger with chips and beer battered fish, chips and salad were very well enjoyed. Top spot!
P.Planned our bike trip out to tree top walk and back via this pub to sample the local brew and soak up some west coast charm. Well worth the visit for a beer and some fries before heading back to Hoki.
T.We picked a good night to dine in the Woodstock Hotel. Two for one deal. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Stayed the night in there car park in our motorhome . Back to the dinner , i had lamb shank , it was cooked to perfection the meat just filloff

T.Woodstock was a bit of a random stop for us, but we were really surprised how good it was. There was a great range craft beers - their own and others. The food / menu was top notch. Our accomodation clean and modern. Possibly the only drawback was mosquitos if the windows were opened. Would love to head back with a group of friends, when there was live music pumping. That would be a blast of a weekend. Close to Hokitika Gorge too which is also well worth a visit.
B.We really liked this pub - the decor is pretty rough but the food was great (beautifully-cooked Terakihi), good beer and decent wine, nice staff and an awesome kids menu: the kids meals also come with a free dessert, a free drink (mocktails!), and an activity bag that was super cute and impressive. Ka pai tō mahi, kia ora.
C.Friendly locals with very talented band that plays regularly here. Excellent views of the Hokitika river from both inside and outside area.
B.Very good value meals on "2 for Tuesday". Book ahead though it is always packed. Staff are unbelievably busy but doing there best. Lots of smiles which is hard to fathom.
V.We had a delicious dinner before sleeping in our campervan in the hotel’s backyard.
Burgers were really reasonably priced, delicious and large. We had a chicken and a lamb burger, would recommend both!
They also had a $20 deal for 4 beers which we enjoyed.
To note that there’s an amazing glow worms dell just a couple hundred metres past the restaurant, it really will make your night!
Toilets could have been nicer/cleaner but still reasonable.

f.We visited here on Labour Day which was pouring with rain. What a great wee place. Owner was super friendly and helpful. Nice place to relax away a few hours with a roaring fire. Really nice meals and the rack of ribs was a massive hit. Love that the owners brew onsite and just about everything is homemade. A genuine west coast pub with that friendly west coast service.
M.Wow first of all we are from the mighty Waikato so we were not locals but what a great Hotel in such a great location. Well the menu was great lots of choices we ordered and it seemed like the kitchen had the food ready for us we were in a big party about 20 people and we didn't have to wait long for the scrumptious food to come from the kitchen well done Chef the whole grew at Woodstock Hotel were great and friendly. Well done 👍👌 Woodstock Hotel we will be back one day for sure.
m.Stayed in a nice wee unit and had tea at the pub two evenings in a row. Excellent pub band and very good meals. Photos from the front door of our unit.

C.Best ribs I’ve had in a long time! Not covered in sauce and full of meat! The Hawaiian style pizza was also the best with a full pineapple ring per slice. Visited on Friday night, enjoyed the live country band. Great service and food.
s.Was a great place and I would go again. Would have liked more Veges with my pork belly and mashed potato. Was served with a very small salad which appeared to be mostly cheese. Hard to tell as it was tasteless. The others enjoyed their meals. 😉

They allowed us to park our campervan for free in the backyard for the night, you will find a sink and clean toilets (you have to register at the bar and the check out is at 10 am). We eat to their restaurant and the burgers were really amazing ! Great price, great food and lovely people thanks you for this evening
A.Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Appreciated the out of town location as this meant we were amongst locals rather than fellow tourists. Friendly and engaging staff, who were extremely competent. The food was outstanding both for its quality and quantity. Great to be able to chat with the chef.

Friendly staff and locals, freedom camping available. Live local music, pool table and brew their own beers and cider. Would recommend their Ruby Red beer + Sweet As Cider.

P.Visited The Woodstock Hotel for a meal and a drink. What an awesome, down to earth Kiwi pub. The place has a great feel. It's friendly. Has a mix of locals and tourists all in for good and/or drinks. Service was quick despite being quite busy tonight. The steak meals we had were quite good and cooked as per our orders. We will be back whenever we are in the area. This place is a real West Coast gem.
S.Was recommended by a local. They serve the best pork belly and have a 1+1 every Tuesday 5:30 - 8. You may want to book in advance as Tuesday tend to be busy.
M.This place is legendary. You got to check it out. A quick stop to the toilet revealed it was moved to it's new hillside location by rolling it on beer barrels and pulling it with horses. Also has its own beers . Pretty cool !

A.Food was good tastewise. We were two and ordered a seafood platter(28 $) for main course and one snack .I feel portion size is way too small for the price. Ambience is awesome. It gives you a classic old-school bar and bistro feel. Music was also selected dynamically as per the crowd present at the moment. Service cannot be called slow since there were only two girls which handled the whole place
T.Slow service. Kids meals arrived way before adults so kids had finished before adults actually got there meals. Then kids waited a very long wait for their puddings. 2hrs we were there and most of that time was sitting and waiting. Good size meals and when we got them they were very nice.

Y.I shared vegetarian lasagna and pork belly dish with my partner. The lasagna was a bit smaller than what I expected but it was nice. Pork belly dish was simple but perfect. And even though they were fully booked, they squeezed our group in kindly. I think it's the best place to eat out in Hokitika.
m.Amazing place! Well worth passing through if you’re travelling. We had the Sunday spot roast at 20 NZD per person (and free camping out back in return for having a meal). It did not disappoint. Well cooked meats and veggies await your satisfaction. Top marks to the team on duty on 12th of Jan

E.Don't be put off by the exterior of this hotel. Inside is what counts and the service and food were fantastic. We dined there on the 19th of March 2019, half price Tuesday and the place was packed. Just as well we had booked a table. Despite it being so busy we didn't have to wait too long after ordering our food for it to be served. The food isn't fancy, but its tasty, wholesome and value for money. We ordered the filet steak with peppercorn sauce (medium) and the pork with mash and coleslaw. Both meals were delicious and cooked to perfection and as requested. I'd read that the desserts were something special here, so we ordered the cheesecake to share. Wow, it was absolutely delicious. A great big slice was served, not a problem as the cheesecake was creamy and not too rich, the base was just the right consistency as well, not too hard. All in all a very delicious and satisfying meal. Considering how busy they were all the staff members kept a smile on their faces and were helpful and efficient.
H.Awesome Sunday roast, and even better home brewed cider. There was a local band on who were great. We met 4 staff and a cat, all super friendly. 100% recommended to stop by here, great place!

There are many things to do arround the restaurant and the hotel, and even during the night glow worms in the cave 5 minutes walking.

J.Went to the Woodstock Pub for some dinner and drinks whilst passing through Hokitika. Was a lovely setting. Very old and dated pub with that country charm. Ordered a started and some mains. We were the first people there to order our meals. We waited an hour for our starter of cheesy chips.. which eventually came out with our mains. My partner ordered the ribs, which were pretty yum. My lasange was quite dry. And we couldn't manage to finish our meals due to our starter coming out with them all at once. The bar maid did apologise for this. Very warm and cosy, however, an hour wait for food was a bit of a stretch, especially being hungry travellers.
D.This place was where my wife and I had one of the best nights during our stay at NZ. The locals were super friendly and were happy for me to play some tunes on the guitar on stage as well. Great food, wonderful people and make sure to check the glow worm cave just a few hundred metres up the road!!

A.The owners are quite welcoming and full of resources. Colin brews the beer there and has a lot of heart for his business- it definitely shows through! Great place to experience community out in Hokitika. I will DEFINITELY be returning on my next trip to the South Island. I’ll be keeping my hopes up for more cider!
M.Very popular. To eat on the dinning room one must book early. Or if you didn't book one might have to eat at the bar.. Very good meals. On a Tuesday they have a SPECIAL take along a friend for free. . You pay for one & your friend is free !!!! Enjoy.
I.Wonderful meal offer of two meals for the price of one a Tuesday special. Very busy but great food and excellent service. There were 22 of us and no one could fault the well presented hot food. Well done.

w.Free overnight camping on the parking lot possible, just register at the bar. Toilet and sink are available from outside. Parking lot can get quite muddy from rain. Food at the restaurant was good.

R.The atmosphere and hospitality of The Woodstock is simply charming. We were welcomed with warm arms and provided lovely and generous pub meals to warm our tummy’s on a cold rainy night. Would recommend their in-house porter and whatever special they may have on the night. We left the Woodstock wishing it was our local.
