Took our 2 teenage boys for a mid week meal and were pleasantly surprised. We could all have a dish we wanted: curry, pizza, steak, salad, and all were freshly prepared and really delicious. There was a small wait for the food but it was worth it. The service was friendly and I was pleased that they actually scanned our vaccine certs rather than giving a quick look, like the last place we had dined. Overall, a really enjoyable local experience and we are looking forward to returning.

We went to Hillcrest Haven for a family dinner on Friday night and the restaurant was fantastic. Staff were friendly and they made us feel welcome. We were seated fast and received great service throughout our meal and drinks. Their new menu had a wide variety of delicious options and a tasty kids menu. We will definitely come here again.

Wonderful staff, great friendly service, good value and tasty food! Fries are amazing, pizzas thin and crispy, cheesy garlic bread with homemade hummus superb, and chicken tikka a great low carb option, with pure blonde on tap!

We have stopped here twice now for a meal on out way home to Tauranga, and both time we have enjoyed our meals, and can't understand why this place is so quiet. The meals were very delicious and reasonably priced, well presented and the service was excellent

I have eaten here twice before dinner food okay & my desserts were okay. Tonight I got too desserts delivered & the home made mud cake was yummy. The cheesecake base & mixture was not good & I only ate half & it was gross. Felt ripped off as spent $13 whereas I could have got KFC desserts delivered there chocolate mousse & strawberry cheesecake items are yummy as. I could have got 5 of these desserts including delivery fee from KFC & it would have been better. Would have rated a 2 but I gave it a 3 star because the home made mud cake was good above average. I won't get food delivered again from this place but I may consider eating in restaurant again as their dinners are not that bad. But yeah they need to improve thee cheese cake dessert I would suggest use a malt biscuit base rather than the white yucky base.

Excellent food. We had the chicken breast. It was very tender and stuffed with a delicious filling with a very tasty sauce. The vegetables were cooked very well as well. The service was great and the drinks are a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place.

My family and I had the pleasure of dining here tonight and I have never been so impressed. For a menu that offers such a wide variety of foods, we were hesitant about how well each meal would be done. We ordered a range of things, and were blown away by how perfect each and every dish was served. Generous with ingredients, beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly any beyond accommodating. I am so happy and excited to have such a fantastic place to go which is local to me. I will Definitly be back and highly recommend. I have never been more impressed with a restaurant and their hospitality in my life. The owners and waitresses are so friendly and welcome everyone with such warmth. The atmosphere of the place is very warm and welcoming. The menu has such a variety which would make you think the food would be sub par but I kid you not the food is so good. (Highlty reccomend the loaded wedges) the prices are best to none considering the portion sizes! The prices are so reasonable and the portion sizes are huge!! I could not recommend this place more!

I live 5mins down the road and thought it was just another pub. Nope, the food is amazing like huge portions and cheap as chips compared to other places in the area. Definitely a firm favourite now especially for breakfast

Review from MAY 2019 - and i understand that there has been some good improvements sine i last visited. Please bear this in mind when reading my review. The food then was WELL under par. We left at least 1/2 of the seafood platter on the plate in addition to every other item of food we ordered. We were a largish group 12 pax. Service was so so, and its probably better just being a bar as opposed to trying to be an eatery UNLESS they get a better cook onboard.

Very good place to visit if you're feeling a little shady from antics the night before! After a cocktail evening we went here for breakfast. A very understanding waitress and great food to 'cure' us. Reasonable pricing and nice surroundings. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5, no shades on the windows - the sun was streaming in and I had to eat my breakfast with my sunglasses on. Some people may not mind, but it was hot and a little uncomfortable.

We had our mothers birthday there and it was great! Great food and lots of it ;-) The place is not flash but you can create what you want for your event and it's big enough to cater for a lot of people. For us, we just added a few balloons, a cake and 35 people or more and it was just the way we wanted. The staff were more than helpful and the food was more than we expected and very tasty. We didn't pay for 5 star but we got 5 star as far as we were concerned. Thank you Homestead Bar and Restaurant Staff :-)

Had a really fantastic meal tonight. I had the salmon and husband had the scotch fillet. Beautiful mains done just right. A bit slow in terms of bringing out the food, but they were busy due to their Quiz Night. Lovely service as well. Really beat our expectations as a little local Hillcrest eatery.
