What a jewel of a find. Myself and 4 motorcycle adventure riding friends were looking for a place to stay after riding from Walter Peak Station through Mavora Lakes. Publican with a great sense of humor, clean tidy well appointed room and great food. We will be back for sure!

Arriving late, very friendly staff cooked great meal. Accommodation, wash rooms, and included breakfast excellent, and better than expected. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We came across Mossburn Hotel on our cycle trip. Tom was brilliant & nothing was any trouble. It was lovely to turn up to a place so cycle friendly. We really enjoyed our stay & the great food. We would definitely stay again.

I stayed here 3 years ago and loved it so came back for 4 nights with hubby and friends again as the location is lovely and close to many other lovely destinations. Tom and Vicky were great hosts. The room was fab the food was tasty and plentiful. Tom went that extra mile to help us out with a problem we had. Many thanks and we'll be back.

This is absolutely amazing place to stay. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and also he can give you a lots of advice about fly fishing .. Nice place, lots of good pictures on the walls. Highly recommended. We stay on 2 January 2021. - Hello from Helensville.

Off the main drag, the Mossburn Hotel was an excellent find. We were in the area for a few days and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and returned for their roast beef night. We'll beat back and keen to call in next time we're passing through. Very impressed with the wine selection too.

Came here on a whim, was very much surprised at how awesome the place is. Great rooms, fair prices and a restaurant where the locals frequent on the regular. Food was 5*, in fact the pasta was the best thing we'd had in NZ up to this point. Awesome hotel, very much impressed and we will not hesitate to stay here again if we come back through. Staff was wonderful as well.

Tom is the perfect host. Makes you feel welcome, knows your name before you arrive. Gives great recommendations on wines and food. Loved staying here. Will be back.

The place with unique spirit. Tasty bear, friendly owner, cool decorations. Very clean and comfortable rooms. All amenities that travelers can desire (fridge, microwave, self served breakfast). I would definitely stay again!

If your traveling to Milford sound or a local living here this would be a great place to dine! Great staff and wonderful service and great food!!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, although basic, was clean and tidy when we arrived. There are two toilets, two shower rooms and one bathroom all of which are shared. The lounge/breakfast area had a TV, toaster and microwave with breakfast provided being toast or cereal. The restaurant food is ok but nothing special.

Very hospitable, nice rooms and Tom made us feel as part of the family! The food was great as well.

Excellent food the most reasonable price imaginable! Spent $50 for two full meals and drinks. Friendly staff with great advice for the surrounding area. We've been traveling New Zealand for 6 months and this is some of the best food I've had for the best value.

A truly lovely pub to stay in, beautifully renovated, new showers and bath rooms, good beds and bedding, nice food a credit to the owners managers Tom and Vicki and it shows.

I stayed in one of the single rooms with shared bathroom/showers in the hotel. Clean, comfortable, warm and start up breakfast inclin price. Friendly and efficient staff. Wholesome meals served in adjoining area to bar

5 Stars for the best Ribs in NZ! The lady who made them the night I was there it was her first night on and she did an amazing job I will be back for many servings :)

Recently we had a family members 60th birthday to celebrate ..As we were out of towners we needed somewhere to gather with family & old friends for a catch up , cold beer & a meal ... & due to our hectic schedule we needed to be on our way in a couple of hours. The Mossburn Railway Hotel was the 1st place we thought of , we have stayed before on several occasions & we new that Thomas & Vicky would be very happy to fit in with our needs... We told them a basic plan & they helped to put things into action. They opened their kitchen on a Saturday lunchtime & although we weren't really sure how many people would be turning up they supplied meals of an unbeatable standard for all who wanted them .. Delicious , succulent & that would pass in any top notch restaurant . Their gentle but firm organizational skills meet our every need & kept our timing on track for the rest of our day. We highly recommend this wonderful country pub to anyone & we'll definitely keep going back many times in the future !!! Thanks so much Thomas & Vicky

Very personal stay, welcoming and fun staff! Restaurant 5/5 as well, delicious and filling portions at a reasonable price.

It sure is old, 1922 old and thats what gives it character! Eating a homemade style dinner next to a warm wood burning fire while sipping a cold beer, you just cant beat it. Staff are super friendly and have a great sense of fun. Pudding was delish, try the apple crumble. The rooms were simplistic though super comfy and the bed is the next best thing to sleeping on a cloud while resting after a day of traveling. Seems to be an enjoyable hang out for the locals too. I would highly recommend staying here, and really enjoyed my time. Thanks guys

A warm and welcoming establishment. Locals are great as are the staff the food is well prepared and presented with big portions for those who have a big appetite. Thouroughly recommend a visit!

Lucky find via Google maps on our way back up north from Milford sound. Amazing rooms for a great price, really friendly stuff and ridiculously generous, hearty meals for dinner after kayaking all day around Milford Sound.

Pleasant staff, good variety of food, either dine in or take away.

We grabbed drinks at the bar in the hotel, and really enjoyed our visit. The bartender was very friendly, and helped us pick out beers and gave us advice for what to do in the area.

Great spot to spend the night on the way to the Milford Track. Tom was a jovial host, the food was great and the rooms clean and comfortable.
