A.Maybe we caught it on a bad night but this place seemed very average. The speights came out of the tap like a milkshake - so we had to drink bottles. No atmosphere and it seemed old and grubby. It's not terrible, but it's in no way notable.

We ordered pizza, fish burger and chicken teriyaki wings.. All 3 items were yummy with the wings were simply heavenly…

I've driven past this old Hotel for years and never stopped or called in.... Its somewhere I would stay again for work overnight..... and will recommend it to the many Ebike riders I drop off for the Round The Mountains Trail.....

P.Lovely warm genuine hospitality and cozy old school pub... Our room was comfortable and the evening bar food was also well above the standard..... I've driven thru Lumsden dozens of times.... will stay here again..... Business overnight stop.....

G.Exactly what we wanted, needed and expected. The staff and locals are so friendly, the food good and well price and an all round great example of kiwi hospitality. We had a room with a bathroom which was nice but we saw the communal was nice and clean too. For the price it is a great place to stay. If you want Queenstown luxury, stay in Queenstown!

T.Great wee pub located in the small township of Lumsden. Booked a table for 12 and I was not disappointed, they managed to get all the meals out at the same time and were delicious. Large portions and tasty, I would recommend the ribs as they were tasty and a good feed. Warm place and had a great atmosphere.

$80 for the night, burger and chips $25, pizza $20 and it was 5 star, we absolutely loved it.

S.The restaurant attached to the bar has a fantastic ever changing menu. The week we went they were serving a delightful range of tapas. A highlight for me was the Rabo de Toro, an incredible beef stew.
If you get a chance to dine here, do your taste buds a favour and treat yourself.
a.Bad: Small rooms, bad besins with weird taps, stiff stairs, the water boilers in the room was very old and didn't work too well (no toaster or microwave, or intercom), no place to keep even a plate to eat food, the WiFi only worked for few hours before disappearing for good. Food was expensive and quantity was small.
Good: the bar and restaurant is descent, can host large groups. The owner and manager was friendly. The playground/park in the front was very nice.

A.Lumsden hotel is beautiful. Great place to eat delicious fresh food, cool bar to drink whatever you like. Personal super friendly. Beds in the hotel are extremely comfortable. Very luminous rooms. Clean. Some with private shower and toilet. Others, cheaper, with shared ones. If you are on your way to Invercargill or Te Anau, and are hungry or tired, this is a great place to recharge your batteries.
S.HUGE MEALS.... Seafood chowder was full of chunky seafood.. steak was cooked to perfection. Raspberry and white choc pavlova was very yum.. nice decor and atmosphere.. reccomend

B.(Translated) The hotel itself is quite simplistic, with small rooms (ours was only 2 feet wide) and shared sanitary facilities. But it does the trick and the price is accordingly. On the ground floor, bar and restaurant, the latter is surprisingly good. A good halt of a night.
