A surprisingly upmarket menu, not your usual pub, so don't be fooled by the modest look. We had the dukkah crusted lamb ribs with Israeli couscous, feta, and beetroot, and the biggest "small" potion of ribs with confit garlic flatbread, all cooked to perfection. Also the $12 cocktails were an absolute steal. What a gem! Not to be missed.

Very good food. Lots of choices for Gluten Free. Menu was extensive. Soft drinks came with no straws and when we asked, we were told they didn't have any, which I found a bit odd. Some ladies like using a straw. Our waitress was new to the job and was being trained. She did well. I had chicken wings and seafood chowder. Both delicious. The restaurant was full which is a good sign especially for a mid week night. Would definitely go back.

Great service, great food, had chicken burger really big should have ordered a half size. Definitely got moneys worth. Great atmosphere on a hot day. Air conditioning awesome.

Food was decent, but our server seemed like she would rather have been anywhere else. Kept getting the orders wrong, forgot a notepad and then walked off to serve somebody else, our drinks took forever, and when we questioned a drinks order that was completely wrong, she grunted at us and acted like it was our fault. Not the vibe we wanted for a Friday night.

We have chosen to eat here on more than one occasion both for lunchtime and evening meal. Lovely pleasant staff, very friendly and thoughtful. Would highly recommend eating here.

Food is amazing, generous portions. Restaurant and restrooms are clean and well kept. Atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. Prices competitive. Waiters and waitresses serve well and accurately. Are just a bit scarce, could be due to lockdown restrictions. Was an all round great experience.

Meals were delicious however were too large. Service was great but the less experienced staff need training of what is expected.

Wow, pizza was very nice, steak cooked to perfection and the desert (chocolate ball) was amazing.. thanks for the wonderful experience for me and my famliy.

Was visiting Masterton and hadn't been here for years. The food portions were giant size and flavours outstanding. Was pleasantly surprised by how great our evening was. Definitely be back

A great experience dinning in a farriers tonight all thanks to our waitress Kayla, she was very polite and attended too every need and went above and beyond :) we will be back!

I had the BEST salt n pepper squid salad I've EVER had!! Staff are great, ambience is great, hubby loved his meal too!! Definitely be back for more ... A+++

Our family of 5 have just experienced a fabulous meal here. There was a great selection of food for the kids, our main meals were full of flavor and you simply can’t go past the chocolate brownie - best ever! The service was exceptional!!

I went with a large group of people, the waiter we think was new , had no badge and didn't seem to be properly supervised, waiter messed up our drink orders, we found some food was cold, too raw and had to be returned. Other dishes weren't liked either, looked like the place was heavily understaffed and not organised well. Even paying for dinner was timeconsuming and the staff,who was actually our waiter had hard time operating register. I wouldn't recommend until they train staff or support staff properly. I don't believe it to be the waiter's fault, I think they were had lack of support .

Good steak and service! A good spot to take the family to when in Masterton and looking to avoid cooking.

Hit and miss depending on when you go. First time we went food & service were on point. Good quality cooked well. First visit would have been 5 stars. Last visit half the food came out cold , quality was average, service was poor to average. This visit 1 star. So on balance 3 stars it is. When this team deliver they are great.

The size and taste of the meals had exceeded our expectations. The waitress was exceptional throughout the time we were there. i.e She was very helpful, able to explain the menu portion size, very friendly, her professionalism made the food tastier in our minds. food was very hot (just the way we like it) asked if we would like more and if the meals are ok. The food was delicious!! Both food and drinks were delivered to our table within 15-40min. 👏 We were set on eating dessert, but the starters and mains were very satisfying. The burger and seafood chowder tasted great, we will definitely dine there again.

The lamb is so delicious and tender, definitely worth it for a special night out!! Flavouring of the meal was incredible, and staff was friendly and personable. A very nice place to stop by for a couple of travellers!

Had a wonderful night here celebrating a 70th Birthday! 🎁🎂🎉🥂 A really extensive menu with a "plant based" section as well which was great to see. We were a group of 16, all ages and stages, kids too. We all had lovely meals and great desserts and I will definitely be back again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stopped for a quick lunch. Friendly, generous service and the food really was good. I heard the menu described as pub fare, but how many pubs serve pork belly and squid salad? And my husband’s chicken and leek pie was exceptional. All in all, strongly recommended.

Well here we go, in the door, bar to the right, restaurant in front and to the left. Covered outdoor seating further left. Met by front door and shown to a table for four. I must remark on the bright clean dining room. We all had different meals, Lamb pie with mash and gravy. (ordered by a family friend from Aussie she said it was very tasty) Chicken pie with mash and gravy, Pork belly with vegetables, roast spuds, apple sauce and gravy and last but not least Pear, blue vein and Walnut pizza. The meals were amazing good size and very tasty. Of course as one is getting a bit older a pit stop before getting back on the road. the toilets are on the right of a corridor each in a separate room very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and seemed happy to be there. All in all a pleasant couple of hours spent on lunch.

For those who don't want to read a paragraph, It's not expensive, provides a good quality feed and has a great atmosphere. 5/5 I appreciate the little things when I go to eateries like this, working in the industry has helped me enjoy these experiences. The waitresses on the 6th of July 2019 were extremely polite, kind and professional and while I won't name them for privacy reasons, I think the pride the restaurant takes in training and presentation is great and the wonderful service the staff provide is amazing. Both the lamb pie and the lamb shank were brilliant and I recommend both. If I was a local I'd definitely come back. However as I'm just a passerby, the least I can do is hope more people come to fill the seat i would've taken.

Went here on a Saturday for lunch, beautiful day so we took advantage of the tables outside! Ordered pizzas to share, they were wonderful and the service was excellent!

What a lovely place to go and enjoy a meal. The staff were very helpful. There was a children's menu and the adults menu has too many delicious options to choose from. Our meal was fresh, flavoursome and a generous portion. We will definitely be back.

Offered their facilities for the "howl" protest 16th July. Very large carpark with many allowed to use the spotless facilities.

Great service with excellent food! The seafood chowder has changed but definitely for the good dont usually like mussel shells in my chowder or tails on my prawns but the taste made up for all of that!! The salmon pizza was amazing and our waiter was very inviting and polite will be back more often!

Enjoyed my visit was disappointed to have to ask for the table top to be cleaned, they were not busy so they should have been clean. Good food selection and tastes great.

This is a wonderful place to eat great meals the garlic flat bread an pizzas all so yummy. I had a steak meal an it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere here is also nice relaxing an peaceful. The staff are very good here friendly smiley and professional. A great place to relax

The service was great but service from the kitchen was very slow. Our meals came out very late and then my meal took another 5 mins to appear. Restaurant etiquette stats that all meals should come out together this did not happen today. Also our grand daughters pizza wasn't cooked properly. It was still very doughy. Sorry but very disappointed today as we usually get a great service all round.

This was my first time here. I found the atmosphere to be welcoming as well as cosy. Great selection of local wines and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted from the menu since everything looked good. Will definitely be back!

We went there with our son for lunch a few weekends ago and found it absolutely wonderful, very clean, so well presented, staff could not do any more for you if they tried. Nice food presentation excellent, plenty of parking, lovely place to relax and enjoy your meal in lovely surroundings, excellent. It was nice inside, warm next to the fire. Obviously recently renovated. The staff were friendly helpful and fast with the order. The food was as you'd expect for a pub venue, and there was a wide choice.

Great customer service. Squid is world class and their fries are ridiculously addictive. Only place I've found with the tuatara Hefeweizen on tap.

Food was great when it finally arrived which was some considerable time after ordering. And then came out at different times so our friends only got theirs when we had finished. Had to ask twice to finally get some action. It was busy to be fair but could've been managed better.

Entry to the restaurant is around the back from the Queen Street address, as is the (huge) car park. Food is delicious and very filling. Waitstaff (Taylah) very helpful and attentive. Would definitely revisit. Lamb and kumara pie was yummy. Seafood chowder looked delicious. Desserts were very rich and filling.

The service was lovely, very friendly. The food was good. My only concern is the price, especially if you are dining with children. $15.00 for a cheeseburger and a small ice cream sunday. A small plate of fish and chips $15.00. We dined at lunch on a friday, there was 5 of us, including children. Like I say, no real problems with the food, just the expense.

When booking venue we tossed between Lone star or Farriers. We made a good choice at Farriers! It was a unanimous vote that Food was yummy, good selection and excellent service. Thank you Farriers for a good night out. We will be back!!

As pub food goes, what's served here is pretty good and moderately priced. The restaurant can be very noisy when full, so not suitable for a quiet, intimate meal

Really lovely calamari entree. The mains were alright, not fantastic but not bad. The wait was really long and the waiter kept apologising. Overall it’s average food at above average price. Maybe we hit on an off day? Not sure I’d risk trying again.
