Hands down, the best pub meal I have ever had! Stellar service and fantastic atmosphere, if you find yourself in Methven you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to grab a pint and a meal here.

I considered writing the chef a love letter, because every bite was a taste of heaven. The serving staff if super lovely and attentive as well and the whole place looks amazing now. I can't wait to come back and try some other dishes!

Superbly run kitchen, the food was delicious and came out rather quickly (which was great because we were very hungry). The mushroom sauce was incredible, the chips were all golden and the side salad was seasoned to perfection. The star of the dish was out of this world, one of the greatest steaks I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The staff were all fantastically supportive and polite. The decor was absolutely hilarious and extremely memorable. You can’t have a bad time here!

Excellent meals and atmosphere, authentic Irish pub experience... Caters well for kids too, with tasty kids meals, the panfried fish with lemon butter sauce, roasted veg and mas was a hit !

What a nostalgic pub...with delicious food...hospitable staff and amazing environment... loved the confessional and the photos of Dublin... the significance of the setting... having been to Dublin and understanding some of the history...was not lost on me...

Lovely staff quick service. Lamb rack was the best I've had in a long time. Pork ribs Yum. Chicken burger great. Would enjoy and one of them again. Thanks guys

This is a really well run pub with great hospitality. Looked after our big table with ease, nothing was too much trouble (even the kids ;). Food delicious, highly recommend

Absolutely amazing service! The manager welcomed us with open arms even with a full house! We booked another table the following night! Much recommended! The food.... Well let the pictures speak for themselves.

Very nice cosy atmosphere! Perfect after a day in the cold. We had the ribs and the bao buns and both were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good beers but not a huge selection, however they were kind enough to offer a small tasting to help me decide which to order.

I go here to be told murphy's is better than Guinness, then down 3 pints and eat a steak. 10/10 would go again. Made best pizzas in town,always needed a doggy bag haha!

Great food, cooked to perfection. We came back twice during our trip to Methven and both times were on point. The staff are lovely and the environment is perfect for a nice dinner out. Highly recommend!

Great pub recommended to us the lady at the 4 square. Great homely atmosphere and fantastic hosts. Ordered the steak and it came out a bit too well done and they re cooked another for me (I felt bad about this) but it tasted amazing and they reassured me it was no bother. Honestly the place is lovely but it's really the owners (who are from Dublin) who make this place. It's a family business and it shows with the attention to detail. Prejector to watch the game but it's not intrusive. Definitely a better class of pub with great service and Murphys!

The food here superceded our expectations. Restaurant quality, best meal we've had since relocating to New Zealand. Recommend booking in advance on weekends as they get busy with the mountain crowd. Thank you!

Had a great meal here with a large group. We were well looked after and the orange roughy was perfectly cooked: seared in butter.

Staff were so accommodating of the 7 toddlers we had with our group for dinner. Service was excellent, food was delicious and the venue has a fun and comfy atmosphere.

Oh my giddy aunt !! The lemon chicken and baileys cheesecake are to die for ! Their chef really knows what they're doing. Quite literally I've never had such a delicious and beautifully presented meal. The overall ambience of the place is so cool. And the waiting staff are just lovely. If you're ever in Methven this place is a must visit.

Yes beautifully cooked meals. Incredibly busy place. Fun and best service ever. Ski season starts in a few weeks so book in then. 2019 winners of a beef and lamb award.

Possibly the best food experience we had in the South Island from Christchurch to Queenstown.. Charming decor, warm fireplace, great atmosphere, well priced, very good service and a gourmet quality cuisine you normally dont expect in an Irish pub. We arrived there around 6:30pm just a week ago after making a reservation for 6 adults and 2 children. We started with a few drinks and mulled wines and within 20 minutes of ordering all our meals were on the table. Being a French cook book writer and a former restaurant and hotel owner, I am usually not easily impress and often hard to please when it comes to dining out. The menu offers a good variety local and international dishes, entrees, mains and deserts. All meals were abundant without excess, simply but nicely presented, the choice and quality of the meat was exceptional and the cooking was just perfect for everyone's taste, the sauces were delicate and desert simply delicious. Value for money would be 15/10. Worth the detour!

Local cozy watering hole, clean, well decorated and friendly. Dark wood and Irish tchotchkes, don’t miss the confessional. Amusing and controversial (to some) bathroom decor of which this American approved. Comfort pub food well prepared and hearty, try the lamb stew. Murphy’s on nitro draft had a slight metallic tinge and pint glasses could be cleaner, but this is easily resolved and did not stop me. Prices are reasonable. Well worth an evening if in Methven.

Damn this place is good. We're in Methven for 4 nights and this was the place we came to on night one. Every place else we've tried paled in comparison so we just had to spend our final night in Methven back here again. The lamb rack is off the chain good.

Went to the Dubliner on the way through Methven whilst road tripping through NZ. Went with a group of six. It was apsikutely the most authentic Irish pub I have ever been to. If you want to experience a night with good friends, good food and even better beer I highly recommend! Also a mention to to awesome live band that plays there. Made the experience completely unforgettable!

It is a classic Irish pub good in every way except for the beer selection that needs to be improved. If you like craft beers you will be disappointed.

Great food, drink and staff. We turned up as a party of 8 and they found room for us. 3 of the party are coeliacs and they were able to accommodate that in their stride. Highly recommended!

What can I say, best food and service in Methven. Exceptional service even when our group of 6 arrived late, accommodated our food requests. Definitely come here for food and drinks. Have been to every other pub in Methven, hands down winner.

My buddy and I both ordered the lamb chops. They were unbelievable - absolutely delicious. Staff was friendly as well.

Pretty good relaxed place. Good food. Getting to the bar can be an issue as table placement makes it a bit of a mission.

Look this is the best spot for a drink a chat and a meal for miles around my wife and I love the place, you cant make good Irish Craic you just have to find it and this is the place.
