Great lunch enjoyed by adults and child. The asparagus was delicious. We also really enjoyed the goat flat bread and lamb ribs. My husband enjoyed a tasting paddle with four different beers. Nice spot especially with the open air roof out the back. My son was also delighted to receive a Christmas gift. A very nice gesture from Shining Peak Brewing.

Excellent dining experience. Over a few hours on a busy bank holiday sunday evening we ate most of the small plates and snacks off the menu and they were all outstanding. Delicious flavours, beautifully presented and came out in great time. Arnold our waiter was friendly, attentive, fast and never let our drinks run low. The other staff serving us were friendly as well. Very impressed. Great beer, perfectly complimented by excellent staff and food ;-)

A fabulous few hours had at Shining Peak Brewing. Thanks to Luke and your team for taking time out with us and the rest of your customers. Tried 8 of the 12 beers available on tap and a very nice charcuterie with baked Brie. Certainly worth a re-visit next time we're in New Plymouth!

Fantastic surprise where the meal was superb actually a step above aclaimed Social Kitchen which we experienced a couple of nights prior. Eaten with their 2020 Vintage Stout Beer which was one of the best I have tasted. Staff great. knowledgeable and welcoming. Definalty worth a visit.

Nice, sheltered outdoor seating area in the back, great food and good selection of craft beers. The tasting flight is a good way to try a few of their locally brewed beers.

This was a surprise as I have not expected this here. Great quality beer. Some European styles and some traditional kiwi IPAs. The food was great as well. And have a look at the sweets. Some beer icecream? Sounds strange but was great. Good friendly service. All in all a nice lunch break.

Went here for lunch. Great selection of beers on tap with generous tastings if you want to try something new. The service was excellent from the time we arrived to the time we left. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered burgers which came with fries and aioli. Really enjoyed the fries and aioli, but thought the burgers were average. I wouldn’t order the burgers again, but would try out the snacks and sharing platters as I hear these are nice.

I was in town for 2 nights. I loved this place so much I had every meal here. I tried half the menu and got stuck into the skunk juice. The smoked yogurt with the lamb ribs qas amazballs. I haven't experienced service this great for a long time. Hats off to this team. Cheers.

Superb beer, superb share plates, made for a great lunch on a beautiful day... top notch staff as well, will be back before we leave Taranaki... great experience all round. The croquets are unreal.

Food really is exceptional here, would 100% recommend the lamb ribs and miso/honey chicken from the snacks. From the sharers, would recommend the Ceviche and lamb flat breads. The ham/beer croquettes were interesting, it reminded me of hot cocoa (I was the only 1 in 4 who tasted this though so might just be odd tastes). Kahawai/paua fish cakes were ok, if you were a limited table I would miss this dish. Service was friendly and not overbearing. Large selection of beers to choose from. Don't skip out on the food here it's amazing !!

Excellent Staff, really friendly, attentive and knew about the beers. Great place to go for a drink, chat and something to eat. We only had the fries (three bowls over the several hours we were there) and they were delish, will definitely try the rest of the menu next time. Great atmosphere and can't wait to go back

Went in for lunch on Sunday. Waiter was awesome. Interacted with our 4 year old really well. Food was on point. Beer was great. (As a brewer I always compare beer to what I can make myself, shining peak is one of the few places I never think I could do this better myself). Vibe was awesome, can't wait to come back.

Recognizable style of Freddie Ponder , award winning chef and a twin part of famous Ponder brothers, was spotted in the starter and in the main of newly opened Shining Peak Brewing restaurant and brewery. Duck and mandarin pattè with marinated beetroot was a pleasant mixture of savoury and sweet. Citrus flavour complimented the fattiness of the foul. The main - beef sirloin w braised carrot, sticky barbecue rib and potato croquette sounded deceivingly simple, but looked beautifully structured and was well executed dish.

Food was tasty, they dont mind freestyling their menu a bit, which is exciting. we had kids with us and the waiter was incredible with our toddler, he even gave him fresh fruit before the meals came out to keep him happy. Will absolutely recommend!

Awesome ! Wonderful staff (thanks Jeanne and Annie ;) ), very good ambiance. The food is very tasty, we chose the lamb ribs, thé chicken burger and the truffle fries. But although it was delicious, we found it quite expensive for the size of the portions... BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BEER ?! Very good quality there, and loads of advices if you are not a connaisseur. I definitly recommend the Skunk Juice, suited for the newbies as well as for Citrus Hop addicts ;) TL/DR: Awesome experience but the food is a bit expensive.

Came in with my wife for her birthday last week for our first time and really enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. Our waitress Isla was outstanding, best service we have had in a long time! Very friendly and attentive. Food was good too. Only fault was when paying the bill, we didn't get a warm goodbye from the other waitress at the till. Felt as if she wanted us to leave!

The wife and I came for a dinner while we were in New Plymouth for the weekend. We had a number of the sharing plates and they were all amazing bar none. Add in the some great beers and friendly, attentive service and we were really impressed. To be honest probably one of the best meals we've had at a brewpub any where in NZ. A must if you are in New Plymouth.

Atmosphere was great, had a live band playing. Food was delicious, the only downfall was the sliders, which were a little dry, everything else was on point. Great place to have a beer and chill. They also donate to a charity ever beer they sell 👍.

Fantastic evening here. Sampled the amazing range of beers brewed on site with a couple of tasting paddles, loved the ceviche, and had the best burger I can remember (perfect fries too). Excellent friendly service, great cocktails (Captain Pear Shaped, and Rosie's Hot Peach), and excellent dessert (spinach sorbet was uniquely superb). I sound like the marketing department, but we had a really excellent experience here. Go!

Great pub with excellent food, great servers, and a nice variety of locally brewed beer and interesting cocktails. They also have a lot of interesting history, including beers named after local heroes and their stories on posters on the walls. Not the cheapest place, but the quality was excellent.

Our dining experience was exceptional. We went to shining peak for our anniversary dinner. From the staff greating us at the door and congratulating us on our anniversary and giving us an amazing table. The food was delicious and the waiter gave us enough space to enjoy our dinner but was always accessible when we neede him. He even took our pic for us. Loved every moment. Beer is amazing, food is delicious, service is great, and the ambiance is cool. Side note: we had the APA, IPA, truffle fries, ribs, and sticky date. Portions are on the smaller side but the flavors more than make up for it when it comes to the food. Also the WIFi is great if you want a pint while you work.
