Came in for valentines with my wife and wow wow wow wow! Service was awesome. Food was AMAZING AND WORTH EVERY CENT!!! This is now my go to spot for my wife and I. We had the baked muscles and mushrooms for our starters, then the steak with the surf and turf, pan seemed gurnard and lamb shanks. I had a food comma for about 3 days. I'm definitely going back. Thanks Chris!

Great place, a little on the small side with even a moderate crowd, in the main bar and restaurant area. The extra space out the back for events is real good (we attended a comedy show) The staff were excellent and were a highlight of the night, quick, friendly and expert service. Really stood out. Beer/Wine selection not too bad. Would be cool to see local beers represented (Forgotten 43 / Shining Peak)

Me and my family visited while stopping through Oakura and couldn't have imagined a better place! The staff were so lovely and welcoming, you felt instantly at home. The cocktails were delicious and the food was incredible!! We had a great time playing darts and pool, and will definitely pop by again if we find ourselves around.

Excellent restaurant. They serve very generous plates of food, all very fresh and delicious. Theres a $20 steak and brew night on Thursdays and a burger night Wednesday's. The staff are amazing, nothing is a bother. Tweet makes the place!

Food and service was great.Will come back. Not so happy with a patron who chose to put her bag on our table while she hunted thru her bag for her passport,never mind that she almost plonked her bag on mums food. Rude woman,her support staff just watched.

Had many meals in the last few months an love the menu , atmosphere and the menu choices are for everyone. Lovely people, great service and beautiful good size food.

Great well presented evening family meal with friendly staff. The only issue was the noisy banter that eminated from the adjacent bar. At times it was difficult conversing with our group.

We attended a wedding here so it was different from just going to the Bar and Cafe. The wedding was in the big outdoor area of the bar. As a wedding venue it was picturesque with beautiful Mount Taranaki in the background. It was unfortunately very windy so the bride's veil flew off and bits and bobs falling from the huge tree kept landing on the guests. It didn't spoil a brilliant occassion. We had drinks and snacks straight after the wedding..The little sandwiches and spring rolls were delicious. The reception area was set out under a marquee. The buffet dinner was a ten out of ten with fried chicken, roast potatoes, kumara, salads, pork and beef that was melt in the mouth among other things. The freshly made apple pie served with icecream and chocolate cake was out of this world. There was a bar tab and a very helpful staff serving us. I would recommend this pub for small, intimate and informal weddings.

Beaut evening at Oakura and what could be more perfect than Fish’nChips with a beer on the front balcony at Butlers Reef! The fish meal was delicious and Jessica made us feel right at home. We will return again!!

Stopped and had a nice lunch. Nice surroundings very friendly staff. I had a Thai Beef salad plus a glass of tap Heinekin Light beer, both were one if the gest zi have tasted. Will be back.

Sadly, got there too late to order restaurant menu and had to settle with the bar menu. We ordered the wedges and the nachos. Both dishes could have been hotter (would rather too hot and wait to cool down, than not hot enough personally), and an option to have a spicier version of the nachos would be great. Staff we friendly and helpful. Venue has typical bar atmosphere and a quieter balcony/restaurant seating option. The venue is also renowned for it garden bar and live bands.

Delicious, well-priced food, served quickly by genuinely lovely staff! I had butter chicken and my partner had lambs fry. Both meals were packed full of flavour, fresh and expertly cooked. Our server was a sweetheart. We both hate small talk and love our privacy but she was so warm, friendly and unintrusive we were happy to engage.

Beautiful meals and very lovely friendly staff. Great service. I had the pan fried Gurnard and my partner had one of the lovely specials which was a rice and chicken dish that he just loved. The blueberry and white chocolate cheesecake we finished with was also devine 👌 would definitely visit again 💖

This is a great place to chill out, have a cold beer or glass of wine from a great selection of IPA’s and NZ wines and watch game on one of the big flat screen tv’s or you can also have a nice dinner in the restaurant. Great service and a nice outside deck for when the weather is nice. Also has a couple of pool tables. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

My mate lives nearby and when I am in town we always go to this Pub which is his local. Best burger around and the beer is always ice cold with plenty of banter from the friendly locals. Recommend a Friday afternoon for some good local fun and perfect pub grub.

Atmosphere is great, food is average I had a sandwich there a few days ago that had a huge piece of slimy fat on it. I think the food quality has decrease. It's a bit pricy for the quality. On the other hand staff are amazing, friendly and provide excellent service.
