We were on our way to see the penguins when we saw this brewery and decided to give it a go. We were walking from our hotel and we thought Oamaru was a very quiet town. Much to my surprise, it seems everybody was here!! 😅 It was busy in the pub, and people were lining up to order. There’s plenty of seating outside and inside, but most were taken when we were there. I was a bit cold (it was a windy day) and so glad we found seats inside. They have a great selection of beer, and we opted to order a flight. It’s always the way to go if you haven’t tried their beers. Their food menu looks good too, especially the pizza. The place is kids-friendly, as I could see families with small children there as well. Great spot to chill and meet people in Oamaru.

Arrived in Oamaru very VERY hungry in the first days of January only to find a dead town and nobody open for service... Lucky we walked down to the end of the road and found these guys! Mind-blowingly good pizza - not just because we were super hungry! And the beer was phenomenal! Check out these guys if passing through :)

Pizza was lovely. It is worth coming for the pizza alone. The service was okay. The beer was not to my personal taste but there were other drinks to choose from wines and spirits. I was with a family member who is really into craft beers and he said it is one of the best beers in NZ (harbour master).

We came here for a team dinner, we aren’t locals so we weren’t sure what this place would be like. Before we had even walked in the door you could tell that it was arguably the most important place in Oamaru. It seemed like the whole town had turned up for a Saturday night yarn with some locally brewed beer. Staff were incredibly friendly, always ready for a laugh and awesome at their job. I ordered a pulled pork pizza and was impressed with the size and toppings for the price I paid, I could only get through half despite being rather hungry! Others from our large group have said that they absolutely loved their meal. No convincing needed to get me back here, I’d make a trip for it!!

Scott Brewing Co did not disappoint, an absolute Gem! My wife and I arrived late into Oamaru hungry and tired after a long drive. We tried a few places but they were all either shut or not serving food as per time advertised online. Scott Brewing to the rescue! They were open until 11pm. We went in with low expectations as it was a last resort and the only place open however we were thoroughly surprised to find the hidden gem of Oamaru! It's a genuine brewery with the big brewing tanks on show at the back with a fantastic beer garden outside with plenty of space. Inside it was lovely and warm and the super lovely staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere was buzzing and we felt very comfortable here. They have a great selection of beers for those beer enthusiasts like myself. Again we didn't expect much from the food as its a brewery and to be fair its not the most varied menu, basically bar snacks and pizzas. However the pizza's are bloody brilliant. So tasty, fantastic toppings and bloody great. They did lose my order in the system however when I asked they were so lovely and apologetic and insisted on bringing me a fresh pizza pronto and to refund my money. I tried to refuse the refund however they were very insistent so I obviously caved quite quickly. I never leave reviews, but this place really deserved one for its great staff, hospitality and quality. Thoroughly recommend.

I loved this place, it had a very buzzy vibe with lots of people from families to friends out for a good night. We had pizza chips and beer and I have to say they were delicious. Highly recommend to go and experience this yourself.

Great little restaurant and brewery. Had some of their loaded fries, they were amazing....highly recommend. Didn't try their IPAs but there was an excellent selection. Great location. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Very popular bar and restaurant located in a functioning brewery. Unfortunately I could not try the brews as I had to drive. We came for lunch and ordered sugar free soft drinks and a caspaccio and a Greek salad. We had to wait as it was really busy. The restaurant has a nice admosphere and it was pleasant to sit and enjoy the activities.

The best western restaurant I ever been to. I love the food, beers and the decoration. I really enjoy chicken wings. It has special flavor! A perfect diner in New Year holiday!

First visit and was only going to stay for a quick taster. Saw all the food coming from the kitchen and decided to stay for dinner. Excellent idea. The range of beers is very good and personal favourites are the Harbourmaster IPA plus the B-10 Porter. Excellent staff and the pizza was very good. Only downside was the slightly cool temperatures. It is a big barn of a building with a couple of nice fires but dress warmly in the winter.

Great pub in a great location right in the heart of town. Tasting platers are always a good way to experience what a craft brewery has to offer. Great outside area with a wee fire going as its winter.

Fabulous beers brewed on the premises. We had a 5 glass sampler and they were all good. Then we tried the cider and that was good too. We came back later to double check and the beers were still great. The pizzas are good too and the staff helpful. Inside and outside seating is all comfortable too. I hope you're getting the impression that we liked this place. Don't miss out.

Great selection of beers and ciders. Live music and great pub food. Loved having an ale very close to where it's distilled. Place was very clean. Waitresses were all very happy and friendly. Great experience. Kids and dogs were welcomed. Great afternoon.

If you love beer and are in Oamaru you have to go to Scott's Brewing Co. The factory has a restaurant attached and several of their awesome beers on tap. I tried their tasting tray which meant I could try five of their beers. It came with a sheet giving you info on each beer. There is seating in the brewery itself which I used or if you want outside on a deck. My favourite was the Porter B 10. You can buy flagons to take away and availed myself of a couple to give to friends who couldn't be there.

More brewery than foodery. And while the pizza was excellent and while the potato chips were very good, it wasn’t the “local” experience I was predicting. Rather than salmon from Waitaki, the salmon was Norwegian (but smoked on site - so a touch of local flavour). The potatoes for the fries were not local jersey bennies nor other famous Oamaru potato brands - they were pre-prepared spuds from Talley’s...and the slim in flavour was the beef fat they were cooked in (to a good result). But given that so much care is taken to brew on site, it seems a shame not to access the local (and magnificent) produce of the region. The staff representative was impressive - she was professional and friendly.

Absolutely good pizza and french fries with the sauce. The atmosphere is good and there are several kinds of beer for you to choose. You are welcomed to try all kinds of beer before you make the choice. Nice place, nice food and nice service!!👍👍

Completely dismissed it as a dinner option when we first saw it due to the large 'brewery' sign (not big drinkers; expected meat-heavy pub food). We went back on our hosts' recommendation and were very pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, nice interior, excellent prices, and good vegetarian options. We had a very nice pizza and the delicious Kiwi-style nachos were approved by my Mexican partner. The QR-code ordering system was very futuristic but very cool!

A great find as we wandered around Omaru. There is a large outdoor seating area with a separate smoking side. As well as a boulles gravel lane to play with. There is a good menu with a good range. Pizzas are the mainstay and it's worth going monster on the pizza for the pulled pork and aoili. The edges are cooked but not rock hard and inedible as you find in most places and it's delicious. The staff are ok but can get distracted easily. The indoor seating next to the fermenting tanks can be a bit cool but that will be great in summer.

I was driving through Omaru on a quiet, cold Monday afternoon by myself and was at loss to find somewhere where I could get a good vegan feed. I found Scott's Brewing Co. through the HappyCow Vegan app and was not disappointed. The space is large and buzzy, and even though it was a quiet Monday, I can imagine the place full of people. The seating is literally in the brewery so it is loud! But this just adds to the atmosphere. On a warm day I would love to sit out in the beer garden to soak up some rays. I treated myself to a cheeky half of "Lemonale" and a vegan pizza that the friendly bartender helped me choose! So tasty! Definitely not on the cheap side but so worth it! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Omaru! A friendly place with big city vibes.

Bloody great. Their beer is really good with some interesting brews, would definitely recommend the tasting options so you can try the range. The pizzas are really good, and everything can be gluten free, great for celiacs. But the chips, omg, the best ever. God knows what they do to them but they are crazy delicious. We got the A20 pizza which was delicious. The food came out quickly, and the service was excellent. However, paying $15 for the chicken wings seemed extremely overpriced for 8 small nibbles which seemed like they came from the supermarket. Blue sauce was delicious, and the beers were tasty!

An excellent selection of beers, including many that cater to the tastes of those, such as myself, who prefer a solid malt flavor to the vulgarities of pine resin and grapefruit juice. There is dog friendly outdoor seating as well.

The beer is excellent, the coffee, hot chips and aioli are very good, the pizza was mediocre with leathery crust and the cheese textured like salty plastic with drops of fat/oil overcooked out. The male floor staff seemed far better dressed than the female floor staff, perhaps all could wear the same and look clean and tidy? The wicker lampshades and the shiny beer tanks inside provide a nice ambiance and promise attention to detail.

Great food and fantastic beers. It was a very busy Easter Saturday but the staff were fantastic. A great feature was scanning a QR code on your table which took you to the menu to order and pay. It all worked very well and saved a lot of stress.

I'm just reviewing the gluten free pale ale. For me it's a wonderful discovery. I'm slightly gluten intolerant and reluctantly had to reduce my friendship with beer... until now. Were do I start OK first I had 2 empty Apple cider bottles I have got cider in the past and keep the bottles (and if you keep the bottles you get a refund when you get them refilled) I also had lunch there a hand-made meatlovers Pizza and drink and enjoyed my lunch and it's not my first time there and won't be my last. The Staff there are friendly polite and helpful. Ps I'd like this read to the staff aspecially when they are having a bad day

This place has great food with a good range of their home brew beers and cider. There was a great vibe here with a crowd of all ages and the service was good. Once more there is seating arrangements inside and outside (great for those lazy summer days when you just want to soak up the sun and the view of the ocean and the docks) and bookings and reservations are possible as there was a table reserved for 7pm on my last visit there. My personal favorite is the fully loaded pulled pork fries with delicious jalapeños however the pizzas 🍕 are really good with thin crusts. I'm sure their pizzas 🍕 are what brings everyone coming back for more. The brewery is exceptionally organized and clean and the pale ale was really good. I'm looking forward to another visit so I can try the other beers and ciders. The ablotions were clean and modern and if memory serves were unisex. The staff were young and friendly and our pizza was there within minutes. Our drinks came just as quick as our orders were placed moment from being seated. They did require payment up front or a bank card should you choose to run a tab but all in all was a really good experience and is one of the few reasons that bring me to Oamaru for the 3rd time.

I had the best time here! The cider we got was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed it inside their awesome place. We decided to go outside to the fire place and enjoy the outside with the music with our food. We were feeling Adventurous and went with a pizza we normally wouldn’t order. We really didn’t like it and I went and let the lady inside know we wanted to order another pizza. The manager came out and asked what was wrong. I let her know we just didn’t like what was on it and had been a little too adventurous and were happy to for another one. The most important thing about any hospitality venue is whether they make it right if they make a mistake. And Scotts sure did. We ordered pizzas, and after about 45 minutes thought, "gosh, this is really slow." We asked and discovered that somehow our order had never made it into the kitchen. The manager was MORTIFIED. She refunded our money and bought us beers, and when our pizzas got to us they were delicious. Would recommend.

It's not perfect for everyone, but it's possibly one of the best Brew Pubs anywhere..... And I've been to many, in many countries. Great garden, indoor seating, food and of course craft beer (and a good wine and soft selection). Even does good coffee. Try there Shipwreck IPA.... But not too many at 8.3%. 😎🍻

Great IPA, average service. The most hip bar in oumaru. You’re going to go here because there is no where else. Didn’t eat here, but food looked great. Pulled pork fries... Near the camp ground and steampunk playground. You can walk to the blue penguin place from here, maybe 20 minutes. Go see some penguins while tipsy! But don’t be loud. Had live music outside in summer.

We always try to visit Scotts when we're in Oamaru. The beer is excellent, with an amazing selection for a local brewery. We loved the IPAs and the raspberry cider was excellent. We had lunch yesterday - arguably the best chips in Oamaru and yummy pizzas. Our kids loved the pentanque. Overall, a vibrant local where you want to hang out and have a leisurely drink with good food and great atmosphere.

Oamarus very own so-called craft beer Boozarama. Located in the middle of a massive carpark on the waterfront area. If you want a vintage throw back experience to the 6 o'clock swill days in NZ in the 60s replete with booze barn style ambience. This is as good place as any in NZ for that. Mostly weekdays after, 5pm. Friday nights especially nostalgic. You can if it's wet sit inside at the back of the bar and keep the brew tanks company. Ambience also includes the noisy din from the fact its a huge tin shed with concrete floors. For a more cultured experience try one of the smaller venues like the Craftwork tasting room in Harbour St. Or the Brydone.
