Shoreward is a beautiful spot right on the beachfront, seating with reserve and ocean views outside and the menu had plenty of options to suit all. Kids menu is awesome too, they have a fruit, cheese & vege platter option which is rare for kid menus! They also have awesome frozen drink options with Frosè, spiced rum and pineapple and sour berry (my favourite!) The Owner allowed us to sample all without us having to ask which was kind! Service was absolutely lovely... all doors were held open for us including the bathroom! Very happy with our choice!!! Thank you guys!! Will be back soon!!

Visited recently after not going for a while and was happy but not over impressed. Put in a reservation for a group and was stuck inside in a noisy and hot corner, couldn't hear each other speak - eventually managed to snag some outside tables. The food was fantastic , a little perturbed that there was a mask to be worn sign on the door but what l looked like off duty staff were wandering in and out without masks on . Nevertheless I will go back again .

Good views, great service and quick, good food, poor wine list, tap beer selection looked good, fantastic live music the day I was there, pricing is about right, good ambience, great bathrooms, friendly staff and very welcoming of feedback, keen to give you a good experience, unexciting menu. I chose Shoreward after checking out several options along the Orewa waterfront and happy for it. Main gripe was the woeful wine list with zero quality whites to match the seafood. After choosing the only "Hawkes Bay" Chardonnay from the list, a cheap one that did not taste like Hawkes Bay, I found it was actually Marlborough from looking up the wineries website. Also, was very disappointing to find they don't serve coffee after 12:30pm at the same time they pull the breakfast menu, so I had to go elsewhere for coffee (makes no sense at all that they don't serve coffee at lunchtime) and come back for lunch. I also thought the big breakfast would have been great for my brunch at 12:35, but alas no. Oh, and the wedges had far too much salt. So, on balance, pretty good, but a few improvements needed to become a 4 star establishment.

Pretty average. Not bad, but nothing special. Food was overly salt - to be expected in a drinking establishment I guess. Would I go again? Only if everything else was full (as it was this time). Or if I was only going for a drink.

Food was pretty good for the price, but service was very slow, and tables were just left with dirty plates on them until the next customer asked for the table to be cleared. In our case, they didn't even wipe down the table (which definitely needed it) after taking away the plates that were on it when we arrived. They had easily enough staff on to cope, but they just couldn't be bothered doing the work. Won't be going back.

Gave it a very generous 3 as the setting and location is nice but that was all. Read reviews before I went and should of listened as exactly same thing happened as previous customers had stated. Food was really not good, in fact - couldn't eat it. Ordered French toast, it had a weird greasy taste and cream with it had a very odd taste. Mentioned to waitress and manager but both just said they'd tell chef. Was very disappointing. Wouldn't return sorry.

One of my favourite places for a pub lunch in Orewa. Food and service are good, a couple of craft beers on tap, outside seating by the road as well as indoor seating. The big screen is normally playing some football or other sport without sound. Background music can be controlled via CrowdDJ app, although it's hard to hear if you're sitting next to the noisy kitchen doors. Pretty relaxed place all round.

A lovely meal at Shoreward. We were in a party of 4. We found space to sit at a shared bar table with 2 others. We chose this as the seats were more comfortable. The wait service was speedy. Food was hot and tasty. We would have liked anther drink but after our empty plates were cleared away we were not visited by a waiter/waitress again.

Loved it here!! New place for Orewa! I ordered Cajun chicken salad- delicious! Very generous helping. Coffee was good too. Lovely decor with a gas fire! Will definitely be going back. Staff were friendly too.

Went for brunch and it was average, their interior decor was the nicest thing about the place. The moccha that I ordered tasted like a hot chocolate, couldn't taste the coffee what so ever. The bacon was really salty and the clam chowder was a small portion considering the price. Service was hit and miss; it didn't seem like any of the wait staff was assigned to a particular table, so you had a different person asking you the same questions over and over. They were polite and friendly, however you can tell they are very inexperienced.

We had a family lunch there. I wear hearing aids and found it very echoey in there so difficult to join in conversation. My charred lamb salad was good but I noticed that the burgers ordered by some of us had meat patties which were far smaller than the buns they were contained in. Expensive too. My salad was worth the price but the burgers were definitely not. I wouldn't go there again.

Only just opened a few days ago, there are a few minor delays as new systems are bedded in. The venue is delicious and once summer comes will be a great place to relax near the beach. A very good addition to the beach vibe Orewa has developed. The food is great, reasonably priced and maybe with some live music occasionally would become a favourite spot. The snapper risotto was excellent.
