The most incredible feed of beans and mince nachos plenty of cheese and sour cream.

Have been dining there all week and the food has been excellent. If you go there the chicken wrapped in bacon meal is the best chicken I have tasted. First time ever I have waited to see the kitchen staff to thank them. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The only pitfall is with the place itself. Close off the front with clear wind breakers and maybe heat it as this is a cold town with a lot of wind compared to other towns in NZ. Other than that I look forward to dining there again.

Our first time dining at the Rose and Crown tonight and we were very satisfied with our dining experience. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect of an Old English Pub good selection of beverages the food was timely (with a reasonably full house) satisfying and there was plenty of it. No table service as it runs on an order at the bar and collect at the window system, however staff were available to lend a hand if required. Great pricing and a good menu selection. We would recommend this pub to anyone looking for an easy low key dining experience.

Decent feed, reasonably priced and the meal was huge, I got a sandwich thinking it would be a light meal but the bread was slightly toasted in butter which to my surprise was really delicious hard to eat it as it was so big I was not disappointed!

Service on point friendly barman, my son raved on and on about the wings (no hot sauce directly on tho) beer of month little pricey but cold handles allowed me to go back for six highly recommended for lunch time beerzies.

Great service, spotlessly clean and a huge choice on the lunch menu. We both had specials. The fish pie was nice, good value for money. My husband had the pork belly which could have been a bit more tender and hotter. Over all I would recommend this place for lunch.

English styled pub, plenty of beers on tap as well as other sports of drinks. Food menu is extensive and tasty. A couple of televisions inside to watch the game, small outside area when it is too hot inside as there was no air conditioning. Service was friendly and polite.

Just a classic pub with a decent bar and good meals. They staff are friendly and helpful. There's always a sports event on the TV and there's plenty of non-alcoholic beverages if needed.

Nice pub country feel in a quiet part of town. My first time was for 2 raspberry and lemonade drinks served promptly by the bar lady while i took my shoes for repair to the cobbler. But my second experience was diffrent to men talking at the back of the bar while i waiting for a drink so i left.

This place could be my local but sadly don't get there like that, just for meals revolving round a birthday or the likes. The food is like home maid and tastes really good. I have a limited taste range and they do a good job of my food. The rest of the family have varied tastes and always enjoy their food there. Winter's awesome with the open fire going, creates a lovely atmosphere. Would obviously recommend to everyone but a bit scared it'll take the casual feel off the place. Thanks guys for a lovely feed.

We always enjoy this warm and friendly pub. It has a lovely relaxed old English atmosphere. The food is very very good. Plenty of variety, lots of light meals and sharing options to choose from. They also cater for gf diners. It's our first choice for pub dining.

Very popular watering hole with older folk and the sports mad. Even though the outdoor seating is next to the car park, it catches the afternoon sun and is a great spot to sit and chat.

What a great place to enjoy a meal and a casual drink. Cosy atmosphere, great vibe and good seating. Not to mention its located in the middle of free car park. Had a great time here and would definitely recommend.

Not the best ambience or Guinness stew (bit fatty and mashed spud needed a lot more mashing) but beer was cold and plenty of seating. Won't rush back but handy to the motel I was staying in

This place had a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The drink prices were quite reasonable. Most of our group enjoyed their meals but I was disappointed with the chicken parmigiana. It had way too much going on with the ham on top and the chicken was overcooked. Hopefully this was a one-off, and I would return here in the future and try a different meal.

Quite dark inside especially when eating your meal at night. Meals look big. Plate half salad. Battered fish. Steak. Baked potato big tasted nice. Toilets clean, liquid soap and hand dryer.

We dined last night at the rose and crown for dinner and ordered a scotch fillet steak with fries, salad and a sauce to compliment our steaks. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was lovely and had lots of flavour and seasoned well, along with good service and relaxing environment Thumbs up to the rose and crown. We will be back :)

Easily one of my favourite places to eat in Palmerston North. Old English styled pub with a great range of meals to choose from and believe me you won't be hungry. A wonderful cosy warm atmosphere, generally busy, jovial atmosphere, nice and relaxed and the staff are friendly. Meet for a drink, catch up with friends, or dine out.

Love this bar. Doesnt look like much from the outside, you could easily drive past it, but once inside it is very authentic. I lived in the U.K. for 5 years and they have nailed the decor. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a lot of parking. Staff are friendly.
