Delicious food & great staff. It was great to sit out on the top deck looking at the views of water and the world go by. Thoroughly enjoyed having lunch there which was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Papa Mo's and would eat there again.

We went for Sunday brunch here while on holiday in Tauranga. The staff were lovely and friendly, service was quick and the food was great. We ordered coffees and some big breakfasts which were so tasty, with the perfect poached eggs. Would recommend for brunch and definitely come back if we are in the area again. Also, love the decor!

The nice and friendly staff will greet you and seat you at your table with a smile. They stay attentive to your table so you don't have to be waiting forever to order too. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the sirloin steak with mushroom sauce and it was cooked just as I had asked. My friends all had tasty plates of food as well. Their desserts are also to die for with the brownie being so scrumptious. Lastly, they also make a pretty good Caipirinha.

Excellent selection of beers. Can't comment on anything else, just pulled over for a quick pint. Service great without being overbearing

We decided to give you one more go after previous poor service experience’s Yesterday 4 of us went for drinks and dumplings We were looked after Amber and Libby, it was the best service we have ever received since McKenzie left Attentive, keeping an eye on us and having some fun We eventually stayed for dinner as well Thanks girls while you are there we will be back Warrick and Vicki Jackson Brett and Mary Shirkey

The girls are amazingly friendly and hardworking. Fantastic atmosphere and pleasant environment. Food is fresh,tasty, yummy and well served. Not pricey. Highly recommended!!!😁

Excellent service from Shay and Aaron when we came in a week ago. Aaron was very professional and had great customer service despite how busy it was. Shay constantly had a smile on her face the entire time serving us and did a great job! We came in again last night and received great service again from both Luke and the new waitress Neah(?). Luke was very personable and a true gentleman, while Neah was very kind, polite and delivered a friendly service. Our food on both occasions was very delicious; also served in a timely manner: Not rushed out straight away allowing us to enjoy our drinks and socialise, but also not an uncomfortably long wait. This is now one of our favourite restaurants to visit, and we'll definitely be back again!

Well located across the road from the beach. Good George beer on tap and tasty range of food. Indoor and outdoor tables both upstairs and down with a play area for kids. All round good spot for a beer or family feed.

Went in with some of my friends for drinks and some nibbles absolutely loved the place. the atmosphere along with the friendly staff service made for such an enjoyable experience. Food came out quickly as well the service from the bar staff for our special order drinks came excellently. Cannot recommend this place enough

Our lst time here on Saturday night. We could not fault the food at all but the service was appalling. There were 2 girls and 1 boy and they spent a lot of time standing around talking and not bothering to check on the customers. We had to ask to have our plates cleared, also had to ask when we wanted more drinks and then had to ask for the dessert menu. Unfortunately it did spoil our evening out a bit as it is not cheap eating out these days and one thing I do expect is good food and good service.

Well, what an outstanding experience our group of 4 had at the Whisky Degustation on Friday just gone. Seated at long tables, 55 of us were treated to 6 generous and different samples of Whisky from around the world, accompanied by Fine Dining standard 5 courses. They pulled out all the stops, and the service was excellent as well. We brought our friends visiting from Wellington, and frankly I wasn't expecting too much ($100 for 6 whiskys and 5 courses). But we were all super impressed. The food was absolutely outstanding - as our friends said - as good as anything they would get dining out in Wellington Central. This was our first visit to Papa Mo's and we will definitely be back.

Great food and atmosphere in the Golden Sands. It's a great place to go for food, a drink at the bar, or watch the footy upstairs. A place for everyone!

When friends visit - Papa Mo's is a given. Great meals, staff are welcoming and attentive, ambience is good. Our grand kids love the joint. 400 m from home. We are happy. Good job Paps crew.

Four of us were there last night because it was Thursday and that's when they have spare ribs on the menu. The meals arrived in good time piled high with ribs, crispy chips and salad. The meals were delicious and so large, we had to have a doggy bag to take home. Our second bottle of wine was a bit slow in arriving, but this didn't really detract from a very good night at Papa Mo's. Highly recommended.

Very nice. The steak was tasty but well below par quality and for a scotch, there was no marble in the flesh which was also over cooked. Fries were delicious and the salad was fresh and zingy.

We took 6 friends to dinner - their first visit. Was disappointing the time it took to deliver drinks after initial order, our waitress did not check on us for drinks, check our meals were ok, clear our plates or offer dessert menu. Our friends were not impressed! Food was very good as usual

My family and I came to Mount Maunganui and decided to go to Papa Mo’s with for my Aunty’s 50th Birthday on the 26/06/2021 they very happy for us to set up some simple decorations on the table and bring out a birthday for her. Very family friendly, table held high chairs readily available for the little ones. Drinks where lovely and the food was amazing. There was a mixup with my order but was quickly dealt with by the amazing staff at Papa Mo’s. I was given a fresh plate of what I had ordered originally and there was also no charge which was lovely. I also ordered the garlic bread and added cheese which made it even better. If me and my family where to come back to the Mount any time soon I’d be asking for dinner at Papa Mo’s

This place has a great nocturnal ambience, casual but comfortable. Ate the roast pork belly which is no surprise for a Tongan given its a prized meal in the islands as it is here in NZ. The plate and food presentation, watering service, promptness, interpersonal warmth by staff was superb and although it was a modest tip given, it was well earnt. The only slight critique I could offer was that the pork belly needed another couple of minutes under the grill in order to blister the crackling to perfection... Its my favourite part! Other than that... Worth the effort to dine in, have a couple of beverages. The meal itself was about mid $30 to 40 dollars... About what you would expect. Portion size appeared small because the arena-type bowl it was served in was huge! The bed of many roast vegetables were sublime. The jus was the perfect companion too... The puree apple sauce, slightly tart which is exactly what it should be. I was satisfied with the meal... And given I didnt submit to my otherwise ravenous appetite, I was reluctant to admit the portion size was ample. I remember savouring each bite as the combination of roast veges, jus, apple sauce changed with each forkful... A concert for my taste buds. Thanks Paps!! A delightful experience.

Lovely restaurant lovely atmosphere and great food. The staff were helpful and nice. Arran one of the staff members was exceptional was so welcome helpful and always asked if everything was ok. A real good asset i think he is for the buisness

We had Aron as our server. He always makes you feel special and goes the extra mile to ensure you have everything you need. We had a small person with us and the children's menu was very nice. Good food and good friendly service.

My partner and I went here for a date night, and I can't recommend this place enough. Food was incredible, would highly recommend the braised pork belly (honey in the kumara puree is genius). Also fantastic service from Aaron (and from the other waiter who served us, but didn't get his name).

Super friendly staff Aron was amazing? friend and efficient we were seen within the first few mi sites of been seated our drinks came out not.long after and even though it was busy our food came in a timely manner boy was it worth it! nice food great price we will be back again. thank you

Lovely modern fresh restaurant and bar. Plenty to choose from on the menu without being overwhelming, friendly fast service. Our table of five had different choices and all enjoyed our meal. Was a lovely fresh breeze on the balcony upstairs with a lovely view without too much traffic noise. Thoroughly enjoyed our tinder here and will be back👌😁

Organized a group lunch for almost 20 family and friends for my Mum's 80th birthday. Papa Mo's were amazing to deal with from the very first phone call. They did a set menu for us that was fantastic and had something for everyone - even the kids. Service was amazing and atmosphere was casual and really welcoming. Definitely check them out - Papa Mo's is my new favourite place in the Bay!

I really loved this place! Great location, lots of outdoor space, even a small area for kids with games and swing chairs. Nice bar atmosphere, drinks were pricey imo but I don't drink out much so not sure what the usual costs are. We had dinner after a movie at tivoli, and wow the menu was great! Variety but still not overwhelming. Usually when the menu is small the food is great and it was! I had my first ever chicken Parma at papa mos and it was lovely! Servers popped by regularly and refilled out water glasses and checked in. I was really surprised it was so quiet on a saturday night, but the atmosphere was really great. Thank you for a great evening! Will definitely be back for dinner after a movie!

Food was expensive and not hot. Hope they adjust prices and get things working smoothly. Update: Feb 2022:food is still pricy, the chicken Parm was good, hot and a large portion.

Need a better kids area downstairs. Staff are great!

This restaurant is fabulous, the food is scrumptious. Pork belly, highly recommend. The staff are warm & welcoming giving wonderful service even though they are very busy.

First time at Papa Mo’s, we found upstairs was sunny, with a view of the sea, as well as the Papamoa Hills. Very friendly waiter, Charlie, who helped with the menu. Generous, pub style meals within walking distance of home.

Just had lunch at Papa Mo's for our mother Ruth's 92nd birthday. My sisters and mother decided to have the share plate /tapas menu. Compliments to the chef.. The food was really tasty and presented beautifully. Being a birthday Aaron (the manager) came out with a lovely candle lit cake..Deserts all round to finish of our lovely experience.. Recommended! Very nice touch.

My niece and I really enjoyed our time at Papa Mo’s. The fries and aioli were excellent and it was great having live music. Everyone was really friendly and our server Mara stood out especially! She was really kind and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by for a drink but staff might need some training, Gin and tonic was light on ice, tonic was warm and you have to ask for a slice of lemon. I asked for a small cider and was told that there was only one size glass despite the drinks menu showing two options. A smaller glass was then found. It's a nice place but could do better.

Excellent and very tasty menu choices available here, even for the fussy GF V DF diner like myself. Couldn't fault the meals we had. Wait time for the meals was minimal and service friendly and efficient.

Great mix of a menu - the Social food make a nice big entree, perfectly teamed with the smaller (but amazing quality) Serious dishes. If you prefer larger mains then the sirloin & fish and chips are super-sized! Staff are EXCEPTIONAL, especially Scott & Danielle. Will be back for sure

Best food we've had in Pāpāmoa since forever. Excellent menu cooked to perfection. Great service, cool vibe with good mix of patrons, young, old, and families. If anything, to really be picky, it was a little expensive but an enjoyable meal out so no issue. Will be back for sure ;)

Great food however customer service needs support e.g manners in terms of how one communicates to customers does require improvement.

Great venue for parties. Food and drink selection good, if you're not gluten or dairy intolerant. We visited for a friends birthday party. We had the entire upstairs + balcony. The views to the ocean was great. Drinks were typical ipa and pilsner, and the menu selection was great. There were quite a few menu items that had been twinkled out to remove the gluten free option. That basically meant only 2 or 3 super expensive items were left ($23 for a starter, for example).

Great location. Menu could be better, but that may be just a personal preference. They sell Good George ale, which is nice, but would appreciate a little more variety.

They are the best place in town and the waiter in Tauranga he is the best because he is all ways there and will to help us.

Good clean, well run camp, right on the beach front. Highly recommended, one negative for me is there is no swimming pool on site, not everyone likes ocean swimming.

Great place for a sunday afternoon drink with some 'sidewinders', or a desert after a movie next door but unfortunately after 5 visits thats really only the aspects that stand out for this local that has great potential. The main fare on the menu (apart from desert) have consistently lacked punchy or even satisfying flavour. The service is hit and miss and if they are busy a wait of 45mins (once ordered) for food is not uncommon. We hoped flavours would improve as time went on but we went last friday and yet again were disappointed, especially for the price. The Bao Buns are lovely and soft but if you took away the hoisen sauce both pork and duck are bland. Would recommend for a lazy drink on the deck but not for a tasty evening dinner.

Food was great, we found our waitress a little pushy, hadn't manage to even look at the drinks menu before she came out to take our orders. She offered to give us a bit more time to decide, but the same happened with our meals. Lovely staff and tasty food, just felt a little rushed.

Went a few evenings ago - the bar upstairs is nice with good selection of craft beers on tap. However on a return visit today, Little Mo's downstairs (the coffee/ice cream takeaway part) was a real let down. Takeaway coffee took almost half an hour and it wasnt even busy. When it finally came, the coffees were wrong. Not much Barista skill on offer here. Good for beers, avoid for coffee.

So good to be back at a local restaurant!! The food was amazing!! And the service was incredible, Mara was so sweet and patient with us!! Happy to see places back in action after this tough time.

Tonights dinner was totally amazing!!! The chef Ricky was flying solo in the kitchen and produced an wonderful meal that was soooo tasty, full of awesomeness and definitely worth mentioning. Totally recommend the Pork belly bites for entree, Lamb Rumb (love the smokey tomato)and Sirloin steak, so tender and cooked to perfection. We were served by the lovely Mara, friendly, knows her stuff, with fantastic service to boot. Desert was decadent. Couldnt fault a thing. We will be back!

Went for dinner and did struggle with what to have off the menu as every choice seemed to have something I wasnt keen on and the combinations seemed odd so I had the steak and then peacan pie for dessert and I have to say it was one of the best steaks I've had and the peacan pie was yummy!!! I'm thinking about going back tomorrow! Would recommend this place as the service was spot on too.

Menu choices good. Portions small and a tad on the expensive side. $18 for 2 tacos as entrees did not reflect the promise if flavor in the menu description. Our waiter was a nice guy im sure but ingraitiating which felt over attentive and annoying. We had 3 courses to fill us up. I had Nicouis Salad which basically was what felt like a bowl of cold leftovers apart from the hot salmon on top. Flavorless and bland. Loved the atmosphere and the cheerful faces of rest of staff. Had the pecan pie which described itself as having peach and salted caramel with it. Once again a menu description does not match the product. The peach was 2 tsp of meulied peach and 2 tsp of caramel sauce. Thats a decoration not an ingredient in the overall dessert. Pisses me off when restaurants do this.

Been twice so far and have had a really nice meal both times. The price is reasonable for the quality and you definitely leave feeling fulfilled.

We had market fish and chips which turned out to be Gurnard, a personal favorite. Fish was amazing, so fresh and cooked to perfection

Great service and ambiance but the food not so great. The burger was dry and way to overcooked. The fish burger was better and tasted ok. Would come back for drinks but not for dinner.

Quiz night is good, pub food is a mixed bag but enjoyed the seafood chowder.

Nice set up there, we had a couple of kids in our group and the outdoor space was perfect. Staff were nice and checked in regularly. Unfortunately my food was really lacking; it was presented well but was really disappointing in the flavour department. I ordered the kaarage chicken and a side of slaw, the chicken was ok but dry and cold and the slaw was just really weird, the flavours didn't work. I would probably go back for a drink in the sun but would dine there again

Have been regularly going to Papa Mos dince we moved to Papamoa, we love the food and love the service, plus the location is perfect! Super handy having the kids play area as we can relax more. We love the new manager Barbara, amazing customer service and a beautiful human. Can't wait for our next family dinner!
