We enjoyed our dinner. Wasn't busy. Food arrived very quickly. Was delicious. Pizza was spot on. Just wasn't sure about my dessert. The creme brulee didn't look set.

Fresh and perfect wood fire Malborough sea food pizza. I enjoyed the food and the taste which is perfect and unique. The salmon on the top of pizza is so fresh as it looks. You need to wait for the food for a bit time (sometime longer as it is fresh make and busy) but it's really worth. The customer service is really good. And they are some outdoor seats to enjoy the harbour view and keep your pet. There is a cafe and bar itself. The price is moderate. If you love seafood pizza. Try out this restaurant on in picton

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Cortado yesterday evening. The service was friendly and helpful, especially with checking for my dietary intolerances. We treated the menu like a tapas menu, and ordered several small bites. They were all delicious - cooked to perfection and beautifully presented so that our meal was a feast for our eyes, as well as our taste buds. it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

A lovely relaxed restaurant. My sister and I found the Prawns too spicy. The lovely waitress had then redone for us. We both ate the lot. Found it very tasty. This restaurant is based next door to the Quay Apartments. Very reasonable prices.

Was here over Easter for lunch. Had a half and half large pizza which was so yummy. The margarita side should have chopped cherry tomatoes tho as it was more just pesto. Had the churrios and chocolate sauce for dessert. Churrios were great but chocolate sauce was just liquid so needed to be thicker to stay on churrio when dipped.

Food was great, i was very pleased with the Ceviche, and the garden salad, several of my table mates had seafood chowder and found it to be hearty and perfect for a cold rainy afternoon. Others had the tacos and while tasty were a bit pricey for street tacos. Definitely would recommend this place for something a bit different than found on your cruise ship. We were a large group traveling together we only came to Picton for the day but loved the little town and the meal we found here.

Lovely vibe. Good music. Good choice of English / Kiwi food. The place is very clean and seems to be quite popular. Prices are moderately. We came here for a pot of tea in the afternoon and then hot chocolate before boarding the Ferry to Wellongton.

Really enjoyed the food here. Have seen a lot of TripAdvisor reviews criticising the service. However when we went, they had dongles on each table you could use to signal for service when required - I'm not sure if this is a recent addition but it worked very well.

This place has great food, my wife absolutely loved the seafood chowder and their pizza's are great. Also staff very friendly and helpful. I definitely wil go back there again.

Good food, below average service. Staff never double checked the order as they have portion size option just placed the order. Also there are few option as veg an non veg, please make sure you clearly mention what you want. If you are sitting outside you may need to deposit your card(acceptable) or you can pay 1st and eat.(in that case make sure you repeat your order) they may forget to do so.

Our entire order was lost and we were left waiting for ages with a kid and cup of broken colored pencils. When the food eventually arrived the kids meal was burnt and my salad was boring. The only redeeming factor was the discount given for losing the order. Wouldn't rush back.

Hello we had to Wait outside for 5 minutes while staff wondered around inside. Eventually we were taken to a table and given water but then left again for at least 10 minutes. However the food was delicious and the food and drinks came quite quickly.

Great little find! Stayed in Picton overnight to catch the early morning ferry and found the Cafe Cortado. Ordered pizza, green Marlborough mussels and cocktails. Everything was fantastic including the great service from Kody. Very friendly place. Hope to be back sometime soon.

Had a lovely squid starter which was cooked perfectly. Mains were the chicken and pulled pork burgers. Very generously filled, great slaw and fries. Great service too. Would go back next time we are in town. Delicious!

The best food and staff you could want, that is what I said 3 years ago. Went there yesterday 06/01/22 and came away so disappointed that we felt a return would be doing a dis-service to ourselves and our friends that we invited to join us. Firstly our drinks sat on the bar for 15 mins +, while our server for these, delivered other drinks including those made well after ours. In the end I picked them up myself otherwise I feel they would still be sitting there. The food apart from the steak was poor. My wife and her friend had the fish and chip meal and the fish apart from being no where near fresh also appeared to be factory produced supermarket style. The Paella while looking great when it arrived was so salty that it was about the only flavour you could taste. Not happy at all.

I had a cortado (piccolo) here, it was only ok... quite bitter as though the shot was over extracted. They have a very high-end grinder and decent espresso machine, so I'm guessing it was a lack of experience in getting equipment and timing down to perfect what's possible with the bean. Actually, just sitting here I witnessed the barista compact fresh grounds at an obvious angle and pushed absolutely as hard as she could. Each error would have a disastrous effect on the resulting shot. Pity. Location is ideal and staff were friendly.

We had loads of share platters, the lamb skewers just melted in your mouth, roast beef, Yorkshire puds n gravy were excellent but the last time I had calamari that good I was in Greece!!! Had a lovely meal here, we went in while waiting for our ferry sailing. It was explained that they were busy so a bit of wait for food which was fine with us. Drinks and water were served quickly while we waited and the service throughout was friendly. The food arrived much quicker than we expected and my goodness it was superb! Stand out was the scallops served with melon and pomegranate, so delicious and also looked so pretty on the plate.

As it turned out our pizzas were tasty & presented well. However customer service was severely lacking. There were 2 other tables eating when we arrived with a booking for 6.30pm. It really is pretty easy to smile and greet customers... AND use eye contact. All lacking. Such a shame. "New wine list starts Tuesday so we're out of that one & that one" Really?? Cross them off the menu/wine list then! A pretty flat experience really. Wouldn't bother returning which is such a shame given the spot the restaurant is in.

Delicious! Had the nachos with lovely pulled pork. They layer the chips on top so you don't need to dig out a chip. Easy to eat and made the experience awesome. My husband had the fish and chip and boy it was amazing! Best fish!

Sometimes, just sometimes you come across a place where you can tell that the owner and operator truly works, not only on the business, but in the business too. We came off thr cuff a little bit from a very brisk and cold outing on the boat and in need of a good feed and some warmth - we weren't disappointed! The staff were welcoming and attentive and went out of their way to make sure that our outside seating was the warmest possible! Heaters turned on, blankets provided etc. Next up was the food: 5/5. The lamb skewers, cauli wings, buttermilk chicken and calamari were on point- fresh and flavorsome. Our children went for the pizza and sundae combo. Pizza was freshly made and alot of attention was put into the flavor. Cannot fault these guys other than there was quite a big weight between our kids finishing their meal and getting their sundae - it was busy though!

After reading through All the restaurant reviews on Trip advisor it was clear on walking into Cafe Cortado we made the right choice. The restaurant was nearly full and had a lovely ambience. Our food was very tasty and the Pizza Hot Stuff lived up to its' spiel. Staff were friendly, welcoming and hard working all with a smile. Highly recommend.

A place I wanted to like but ultimately can’t recommend. You would think that they would be prepared for travelers coming off the ferry, but their incredibly young staff seemed to be completed untrained and overwhelmed. They told us to sit and someone would take our order, we waited 20 minutes, then just ordered at the register. Took another 25 minutes to get a side salad and 3 tacos...when we were the only ones there. The food was actually pretty good, but I would never recommend such a horrible experience to someone.

We went for coffees one night with kids. The staff made us feel welcome and gave great service even though we didn't order food. They gave the kids colouring books to draw on. Best chicken I've had in my life, and I've had a lot of chicken. Staff were amazing. My puppy knocked over my lunch from the waitress' hand and she brought me another! I was so embarrassed and she was so lovely. I'm sorry for the hassle and the mess but I will be back. I need more of that chicken and awesome service in my life. Thanks team!

The best seafood dish we could have imagined!!! This feast of a dish was so large and inclusive we couldn't finish it, and I was hungry! All of the food was cooked very well and the addition of a new sea creature we had never tried before was more than we could have asked for. They had a great wine selection and everything just tasted so good. I recommend informing the kitchen ahead of time if you plan to get it, apparently it takes quite a while to prepare.

Went for a meal on 13th Jan was good but unfortunately lost an item and i when realised left two messages on answer phone to call me on 14th and 15th. No reply. called in on 20th and asked waitress then spoke to duty manager. She was rude and didn't like that I asked why they didnt reply to my messages when I left a phone number on each. She just walked away and started another job. Needless to say we didnt stay for lunch and won't be back.

I choose Cafe Corrado as it was the only place in town (i could find) that served a salad as a main dish, so I ordered the house salad. It looked great, tasted good, but the dressing was a bit on the light side. Only the background noise from the other customers was a bit to much for me, so I did not linger after I ate.

Excellent tapas - we were a group of 4 people looking for a light meal to eat. The tapas we chose was the lamb kebab, chicken wings, buttered chicken and cheese balls. All perfectly cooked. The restaurant was vibey and had a beautiful view of the water. Would definitely go back.

Front of house seemed pretty uninterested and disorganised. Some tables getting served at the table, some (including us) having to go up and order at the bar. Young lad who waits tables is fantastic. Couldn't have been more polite. Food was also really good. Highlight was getting asked where I sat in order to get a WiFi code. If the manager had half an idea what was going on we could have avoided that conversation entirely.

Had a smoothie and the mussles. They tasted great, but I was disappointed at the portion size of the mussles. It was on the menu with all the other mains but there was only 12 when it came out. If it was listed as a dozen on the menu I wouldn't have ordered it, just a suggestion for the future. Now at the chippy getting some fries.

We came off the ferry and stopped here for a pizza. It was a little on the expensive side for myself personally as a student, but definitely still reasonable. The pizza was delicious, and our dessert was nice as well - not as much so as the pizza, but it was still a tasty way to finish the meal. I'd recommend the "Cortado" pizza. I must say that our waitress was exceptional - she was very friendly and open, and did her job well and in a nice, casual, and approachable manner. I forgot to ask her name, but she had short-ish blonde-ish hair (apologies, my memory is terrible) which was tied up, and she seemed to be serving mostly the outdoor tables at around 7pm on 20/1/2018. Whoever she was did an excellent job, hopefully the management staff read this and pass the message on.

I had the mushroom risotto with the fish of the day and it was one of the best meals I have had in my life. The fish was cooked to perfection - it melted in you mouth, and the risotto was so strongly flavoured - it was amazing. The wine list is also fairly comprehensive, with a number of local and international wines.

I arrived here on Queen's birthday to a busy cafe with a good atmosphere. I scanned the menu, putting in perspective here it was well and truly brunch time 12pm and after one cold sizzler for breakfast my appetite was whet. As i scanned around the restaurant, the burgers looked good, but having a gutful of grease and meat this weekend i went for the breakfast burrito, extra hash brown and a ice coffee. Service all ok. The first drinks arrived, my ice coffee ok, the ice cream delicious. However, the strawberry smoothie consisted of entirely milk and a lack of flavour. It was sent packing, to their credit they quickly remade into a delicious banana treat. My hopes raised and the anticipation grew as be the first Burger's rolled out. Next was the burrito, as i soon as i saw it; i knew id been fleeced. When you drop 20 plus on a feed you don't expect to be hungry and all ill say is thank god for the extra hashbrowns or i would have been like an african child in ethiopia. It tasted good, but it just wasnt enough. The burgers were delicious and i cant say it was bad, but very hit and miss. You never know pick wisely, swing the bat and you might just hit a home runs. Went in for breakfast while in Picton. By the time we got there they had run out of most things and was closing the breakfast menu 4 hrs early (menu says 8am to 2pm) Went for the breakfast burrito after beening rushed into a decision. It was very nice but very smal for $20 and was the poor relation compared to other items coming out of the kitchen. When the burrito came out it was missing bacon and was offered no substitute. Tea and coffee was very nice.

Manager advised us to order some drinks and free wifi while we wait for food. we have ordered couple of coffees. Best coffee we have ever had in last month our tapas came out in 15 mins. Can not beat the food and coffee. best food best coffee. We went to few restaurants in NZ where we had very bad experience especially with service. Tappas are great I have been back many times and the food is great l had a seafood pizza tonightwhich came out with a very soggy base which detracted from an otherwise lovely meal. The Manager "Preet" was very nice about the whole thing...gave me a discount an offer of another meal,drink etc. This was a minor glitch and in no way detracts from an otherwise very nice place to dine at.
