Great cocktails, great table service from friendly staff, and a lovely venue to dine at. This was our first meal there tonight and we will definitely be back. We had the Thursday pasta meal which was very tasty.

A stunning heritage building that has been restored and turned into a gorgeous bar. Am impressive drinks list, including some yummy mocktails, and a tempting food menu (which I have to choose from next time as we were only there for drinks). The staff were attentive and professional. Will definitely return.

Great evenings to be had at Ivory Bar! Tonight fab cocktails, great wine list and excellent menu. We prefer nibbles and had wonderful flatbread, calamari, fried chicken and fish pate. Well satiated and the service with a huge smile adds rounds off the experience. Go!

Couldn't have been better at the Ivory Bar tonight.... Fantastic service, delicious food (highly recommend the beef cheeks!) and the best Pina Colada either side of the Waimak Bridge! We will definitely be back!

A very nice place to have a family and/or friends gathering. The decoration is nicely done with a european flavour and touch. The Thursday night all you can eat pasta seems to be a nice choice for a group of hungry friends. The main dishes are rather on the high price side but very nice and tasty. We had the stuffed chicken, the salmon on rice and a sauted veggie salad with smoked salmon. All dishes were nice. We ordered also some veggies on the side.

Great service, delicious food and tasty cocktails, what an excellent way to spend a Friday night. Shout out to Neil and the bloke who looked after our table for going the extra mile!

Had a great experience after going to a rga restaurant last Fri night with a family group. Nice atmosphere a bit sparse but that's covid for you. Good non alcoholic selection which can be rare. ...good on you guys

Dinner & Atmosphere are incredible. Neil & all the staff were fantastic. Beef Cheek was the best I've ever had. The pasta was faultless and to finish we had sticky date pudding which was delicious. This will definitely be a regular dinner venue for us. Amazing experience thank you team.

I love the atmosphere here! Dress up in your finery, go out have a cocktail in a joint that's swinging! 1920's styling, beautiful decore, great drinks and delicious food. It's not a cheap place, prices do reflect that but if you are wanting a great night and are happy to pay a little more then I do recommend stopping in here.

9 of us had a meal here on Saturday night. What a beautiful setting to enjoy a great meal. Our waitress Alisha was excellent.

Delicious value for money 'all you can eat' pasta for $12.99 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Totally recommend the seafood marinara. But the happy hour drink prices weren't honoured. I got overcharged by $8 which isn't a big deal. I was reimbursed $4 and I was too embarrassed to challenge it any further after that. But all in all it's a great venue with amazing decor and delicious food.

Really enjoyed our first visit for a drink after dinner elsewhere. Staff very welcoming and attentive. They have restored the building into an outstanding feature. Drink prices were not as harsh as we were expecting in fact only average really for an establishment as nice as this. Live music was outstanding. We will be back for a regular visit and to try the food. July 2019, Further to my review above, we have visited this bar a number of time and found it excellent every time. They do an outstanding platter that we shared with friends which was great value for money. The staff went out of their way to ensure it was what we wanted by mixing different platters together and even added a taste of one of the main dishes. On a recent visit we were delighted to find they have introduced a happy hour from 4 pm to 6 pm every night of the week with drink prices that are very reasonable, Heineken $6. Definitely recommended.

High quality restoration that does justice to the class of the building. A personalized space for dinner and drinks. Friendly staff. We really loved our cocktails, mains and the desserts. Well worth the visit

A pleasant quaint place. Ambiance very pleasing. Wonderful food - like the idea of sharing plates. The music was enjoyable and not too loud that a conversation couldn't still be heard. The staff were helpful, although somewhat slow despite the quiet clientele. I would go back again.

Similar review to others.It looked lovely, but felt large and empty with people at only 3 other tables. The hostess was nice, the bartender unfortunately put the wrong ingredients in my drink (one that he specialized in) so that had to go back.The 75 Fizz ?, that was very good.The tub chairs in the main area - should have been sat in before purchasing.The food looked good, but unfortunately was a let down.We had the pork belly, which was mainly fat and no crackle.(our dog at home liked it).$8 extra for a few potatoes, more if you wanted greens. I wore designer shorts, as it was a hot night.Now I read they are not acceptable - we had no idea.I applaud their idea, but at this rate it won't make money.

Excellent service, good food, delicious cocktails and a lovely environment made a date with my hubby a lovely time. Definitely recommend.

In a word - excellent. Went there 28/11/18. They had only just opened. Excellent venue - what they gave done with that old building is amazing. Excellent staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Excellent tapas food with attention to detail in the presentation. Excellent wine selection both local and from afar. Amongst others we tried the Beau Joie rose champagne. Doesnt get much better. A credit to the owner 's vision and right decent chap he was too. I wish them well. Keep up that standard and the world becomes your oyster. A great way to enjoy a long lunch.

Stunning design of this old building. If nothing else, go see the design, decor and glassware. The cocktails are some of the best.

Excellent upmarket bar in Rangiora. Classy decor, great drink options and well made cocktails. Fantastic happy hour 4-6pm. Definitely a favourite in North Canterbury.

Tough running a business, especially a restaurant where a single customer with a 1 star review can do a lot of harm. We all have different expectations, experiences and tastes. My review is written with the hopes of a few improvements. Is it fine dining? No water on the table and at no stage offered any. A bowl of chips is hardly fine dining but having said that, they were actually very good and it is NZ. Chicken nibbles nice. Lamb......it needs to be seasoned, also perhaps a little rosemary, quite bland, or offer seasoning at the table. Lamb with tomato especially needs care with seasoning (would be curious to know if chef smokes). Okay, so I spent 25 years in Asia and like food with flavour. My fault as hadn't read menu carefully to realise it is lamb (shank bits?)and came with nothing. Perhaps waitress could ask if customers would like to order vegetables etc. Salmon.....a few small sushi-like pieces. My friend was hungry when he finished. Service good, friendly. Decor very nice. Live music.....guy singing with guitar - excellent. A nice place to go, for me the food was pretty average. Sounded great but didn't really deliver in quality or quantity. But.....that's just me. Certainly wouldn't take my wife who is a brillant asian cook.

I first visited Ivory Bar on Tuesday afternoon. The bar person was very helpful and made my negroni perfectly. I like big ice and this was the biggest I have ever had. I had some nibbles which were delicious. So much so that I took a colleague in tonight after work and repeated the experience. Top marks to everyone. (As an aside, the depth of the laquering on the wooden toilet seat was a wonder to behold. So much so I put the seat cover down to admire it a thing I have never done anywhere in the world before) A very classy bar indeed. Rangiora is lucky to have it. Ian K Hamilton

Much better than we expected given some of the reviews we'd read. Lunch menu good. Cheese platter very tasty. Lunch plates generous and tasty. Wait staff knowledgeable.

So lucky to have a wonderful bar like this in rangiora, always a great atmosphere would definitely recommend.

Nice decor, atmosphere. Reasonably priced, however as a heathen, it would be nice to know the ingredients of a cocktail. I can't drink whiskey.
