Really enjoyed our evening here ! The Hazy Pale Ale was a great choice, as was the platter we shared. All the staff were friendly and helpful, too. Visited again later in the year and enjoyed our meals again. Excellent steak special and the prawns with coconut rice were so tasty! Such a lovely, friendly and helpful waitress, too. Tried some other Good George beers - good stuff!

Great beer, wonderful service. The Hawker rolls were wonderful. Would definitely recommend to those with young families, work mates and anyone looking for a plate of food and pint. Nice little alcoves for groups, providing that private feel. Big open areas, great for social events, like rugby. Next time we are in Rotorua and should we intend on a meal or beer, we'll plan our trip around a visit to Good Eastern Taphouse

Visited recently for a birthday dinner and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was on point and, tasty, and much more refined than most pub meals. F&B menus offered plenty of choice and staff were friendly. Only minor issue was that there no blinds on the windows or air-con so it was a little stuffy as the sun went down. Will definitely be back 👍🍺

Great service. Friendly, genuine and helpful. The food was your typical pub style food. Large portion sizes, and mostly seasoned with salt and better. Fresh and cooked well, but not gourmet. Will come back.

Relaxed atmosphere, however can be a bit noisy at peak times. Plenty of seating. Wide range of beers and other drinks available, however they are on the pricier side. The share plates are delicious and the burgers and mains are huge. Quite disappointed the one time I had the chicken curry as there was minimal curry sauce - very dry. They seem to have a limited menu at the moment, unsure if this is because of COVID, but I really miss the Ramen. Also miss the peach cider - please bring it back!

Under immense pressure post covid-19 lockdown, alert level 2 restrictions, and also from all of Auckland being here for the queens birthday long weekend, the staff managed to get my newly wed wife and I onto the wait list, and despite a warning of possibly an hours wait, they got us in under 30 mins. They warned of up to 50 mins wait for the food upon sitting at our table which we totally understood, and placed our orders. We got our beautiful ciders quickly, (good george doris plum for me, scarlett peach for the wife) and soaked up the bustling atmosphere while waiting for the selection of entrees we decided to share to hopefully make it easier on the kitchen. The food came within 30 mins of ordering and was sensational given the pressure the kitchen was under!! WELL DONE, the Good Eastern Tap House!! You delivered in everything!!!

I have to give five stars because I just can’t find anything to fault. With two small kids your priorities are different. Service was perfect, food was fast and very good quality. Drinks were good and the whole place was clean, warm and cozy. I really liked the place and if you have kids it’s perfect.

It's a good pub mate! I enjoy the wide variety of alcoholic beverages and i say that with a straight face 😂 the ambience is warm, inviting, cosy yet spacious. Superb service and overall... Just a great place to hang out with friends and loved ones enjoying time to unwind. The owner is seen behind the bar regularly and he's a top bloke... Did i mention that he loves to chit chat? Csreful.. The anticipated 5 minutes or less to order and receive a drink could easily become twice that!! 😂

Went here for dinner tonight. Service was amazing and the food was really delicious. The manager even stopped to talk to us and ask about our weekend and more. As a local it's always nice to have a great experience so we can bring our out of town visitors to these places also. Had a really nice night here. Thanks Prue... you have a great team onboard.

This is our second visit in the evening two days in a row. The food is excellent and the staff attentive and friendly. The range of beers and wines are also superb. Not in any way denigrating the main meals, which were exceptional, the stand out taste was their chips (fries) which are to die for. Do give them a try.

Great food, great atmosphere and the staff are friendly, they seems to be well equipped for family dining with high chairs and a kids menu. As well as catering for the family dog with lead clips on the wall in the outside seating area and water bowls. However i have a one year old that required a nappy change before a 2 and a half hour drive home, but unfortunately they do not cater for this with baby changing facilities.

Good experience, sat in a booth inside but it has a very open layout and there is a ton of outdoor seating options! The fish is locally caught for the fish n chips. The ginger beer (non alcoholic) was tasty as well. Parking in the back, convenient on the corner intersection. Photos as of Feb 2020.

A very spacious restaurant which catered for large family groups and booths for more intimate dining. It was a very cool night and the heating was cozy.The menu had an interesting twist on pub favourites and all our meals (7) were tasty and delicious followed by some yummy deserts. Staff were patient and attentive. We would go again.

Stopped after a hard day in redwoods on Saturday. Food was fast and tasty but the service was the standout. The young woman who greeted me and took my order is a real gem. Great smile and excellent manner. One of the few times I have left a tip in NZ!

Modern, spacious brew-pub in Rotorua. Awesome beer selection - about 15 (?) on tap. Loved the wooden decor and tasty grub. Biggest surprise were the dumplings - amongst the best I've had anywhere!

a quick visit but I enjoyed an "Ace of Spades" stout beer from the tap which was very good (chocolate vanilla notes dark and creamy smooth 5%abv) and she chose a Rosé cider with hints of strawberry and lime and was very pleased with her selection :) we also shared the GF chocolate cake from the dessert menu and this was really good, moist and delicious. we were there when it was very quiet but atmosphere was very warm (cold autumn day outside) and the staff were friendly and efficient

Firstly if you’re looking for somewhere for a brew or few... this is it, with their amazing crafty options. Secondly... if you’re looking for dinner options this place regularly doesn’t serve mains together and needed asking where they were for them to arrive (15-20 mins dif). Service was average, with no water being offered at all, and when asked for it one small bottle for 4 thirsty adults with no replenishing of bottles. Plates took a long time to clear. Big location, would be many options if you had a pram or something. Also good if there are a few of you. Clean and tidy. Can get loud when full. Plenty of parking options. I had the lamb and the cauliflower poppers. Really flavourless. Could do with a rejig with spices/different sauces. Can see potential, but definitely room for improvement.

Good selection of beers and ciders, food is a bit average and fairly expensive for what it is. Large open industrial design means sound bounces around a bit more than usual. But nicely designed interior. Only one TV, so wouldn't recommend it for watching sports. But perfect for coming off the mtb track for a beersies or two.

I am updating my previous not so good review of 9 months ago. I visited again last week and things have definitely improved. Nice atmosphere and great staff as before but now the menu is much improved and more options available. Food is very tasty and it is obviously now a popular spot.

Sitting on the romantic roundabout on a state highway, I didn't expect this place to survive, and it still has to suffer through a winter. A disappointing end to my meal. When paying informed staff and they apologized and removed small amount of cost. For that i am willing to try again and hopefully give better review. I had done a complaint and received a fast reply and apologize. Due to their actions they have taken i have changed them from a 3 to a 4.

Located near the Redwoods in Rotorua, this is a nice and cozy place to have a coffee, beer or a bite. We had arrived here at half past 10, but the staff were kind enough to open the doors a bit earlier; Thank you! The coffee here is good, beer is great. Further observation hints that they have their own brewery. The food is a bit pricey compared to the amount served, but the quality is great. Parking can be found on the street, as well a small alley at the back. I would recommend!

I really like the kid friendly feel. It was late watching the rest of the rugby world cup final and the staff offered sample beers to try before I made a choice. Snack food was limited due to late hour probably. It was fun watching the bok supporters making fun of the crying poms in the crowd.

I love the beef burger of the sweetheart egg husband. I thought that the burger was not served with french fries, and I ordered another fries deliberately, but they brought it with me.
