R.Only visited the Jolly Fellows restaurant for a meal and did not use the other facilities. 5 adults and 3 children aged 6, 8 and 9. All enjoyed their meals and beverages. Great atmosphere inside and out. Friendly staff who were extremely busy as it was the New Year holiday season.
L.Good Location right on Lake Tce. Literally across the road from the Lake. Also easy access to the CBD, and it has a good restaurant next door.
The Good:
Very comfortable beds, and very quiet (upstairs anyways)
Good clean Linen
Sky TV with all the Channels which was great
Air Conditioning which worked perfectly
And the Bad:
Very very tired, and very dusty. Some of the furnishings in the room are more modern, but some are not. This leaves the place feeling very mismatched. The room just feels really worn out and is showing its age.
No Smoke detectors in the room, you could see the bases, but the actual units had been removed (as per photos). This is pretty poor really, and is a Safety Basic I thought all motel rooms are legally required to have.
In the bathroom there was a strong smell like cigarettes or something. It was quite overpowering initially. Had to open the windows and close the slider for a bit.
Quite a bit of mold starting to grow on the seals in the bathroom.
At $130 I thought the price was okay for the offering. But there are far better places in Taupo to stay for that price bracket. If you looking to stay here, just keep in mind the rooms are showing age.
H.Would not return.
Great location and views, however rooms very tired looking. Shower is so low its hard to even get in there, towel railing kept falling off the wall on one side. Spa bath looking oldish. Bathroom rubbish bin (with very personal items)had not been emptied from previous guest. A makeover and attention to detail would help!
P.Great atmosphere good food. Scallop mornay was delicious. Fish tacos very nice squeeze if lemon or lime would have been ideal.
D.Love this place. Jolly Good Fellows is the restaurant. Great food and plenty of it. Four of us had the seafood platter plus a side of chips. Was plenty. Their roasts are huge and delicious. They were extremely busy that night but although our drinks we're a bit slow, our meal was fairly quick. Usually great service and friendly staff. One of my favorite places to eat in Taupo.
L.We accidentally booked the wrong date but Twin Peaks kindly fit us in. They were very helpful and we loved our stay there. Great room with everything we needed. Awesome location and fantastic service, thanks again Twin Peaks.

t.Just had a meal there absolutely delicious,service perfect and the young waitress is worth twice what your paying here.
M.Medium rare steak, with mushroom sauce, fries and fresh salad, Mmmmm to die for
Crumble desert with cream and ice cream, topped with custard, Oooh nothing left, great stuff keep up the great work guys
