Good hearty meal. Fried calamari was tender and crisp. The Wasabi aioli didn't quite come together for me but quite exquisite for an appetizer. Unfortunately didn't have enough time to try out the mains but would definitely like to. They have an impressive classic and kiwi menu.

There were 8 of us and 6 meals and 6 were great. Our gluten and dairy intolerant grand daughter asked for nachos with no dairy however she was given cheese nachos with sour cream on top of meat. Also my daughters burger bun was burnt on top. Enjoy the restaurant and service exemplary. Would be really fabulous if there was dairy free or gluten free options on the menu as with most restaurants these days.

Amazing venue, with reasonably priced and top quality food and drinks. The owners are super friendly and hospitable going out of their way to make guests feel welcome. I recommend trying them once, twice or even 99 times.

This is a hidden gem. Great service the owners are magnificent people. Who serve with finesse , they care for their clients with old fashioned values. The food is second to none. You will never be disappointed. First class...

The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was verytasty and service was efficient. Manager was engaged and super friendly, shame about his support for Man U. Tee Hee. Overall i would really recommend this venue.

Salt and pepper squid was very small for the price!, The nachos and loaded wedges were perfect and tasty and the service was wonderful. So if not for the Squid, would be a 5 star rating for me. We got bombarded by wasps but can't really blame them for that, and was pet friendly!

Fantastic spot on the sunny afternoon we stopped in. Nice staff, good wedges, and very well-priced proper imperial (570ml) pints of tap-beer = bliss!

Had a great meal here. Good choices of food and drinks offered by the team. Well throughout food, all very nicely presented, a good menu with a great specials board. All very yummy and filling. Happy to recommend and will be back. Nice and clean with a comfortable atmosphere. Good place to go after doing one of the many local walks or a soak in the local soda baths or mineral spa.

Initially went here for coffee on a Sunday afternoon as it is the only place open after 3 in Te Aroha. The coffee was very good. The garden bar section is very relaxing with wonderful established trees and comfortable seating. The service is very good, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to the quiz night. Re Quiz night - general consensus was that meals were good and generous portions. Service was responsive. Menu item titles slightly confusing with Duck being a descriptor thus a brief anticipation of a duck shepards pie. Quiz attended by 8 teams and about 50 people. Quiz was run professionally overall but the timing of each round would have benefited from more rigorous and restricted timing as total duration was 150 minutes. The music was too loud. An error was made in score keeping but rapidly corrected.

Lovely waitress Tayla. Enjoyed my haloumi/grape salad with chicken although more dressing would have made it perfect as it was a bit dry. A little disappointed that the cheesecakes on the menu are bought in. So easy to make...I make them regularly. It lacked that homemade flavour. Overall enjoyed my meal and probably didn't need the dessert!

Get the lamb shank if you are here to dine!!! Absolutely filling, tastes so good and the serving is just perfect! Paul, the owner, is the epitome of amazing customer service! So accommodating, knows what to recommend without batting an eyelash 😁 made us feel welcome like a friend.very affordable too! This is the place to eat if you are in Te Aroha.

Amazing food, and friendly, kind staff. They went out of the way to make sure our three month old was ok. The chicken parmigiano was delicious and so were the bangers and mash. Would come here again and definitely recommend.

The service was impeccable, the lasagne was awesome!! The cheesy wheesies were average and it was a bit cold inside, albeit it IS winter, a little bit more heating would be nice. But I would visit again.

Adore the ice cream Sundays using deep south ice cream. Nice atmosphere. Only complaint is it can be a bit cramped when lots of people in especially for quiz night!

First time at the D and C .3 of us great service hade the duck salad beautifully cooked and fabulous salad beautifully presented. My lady had the Halloumi salad .beautiful. Desert was to die for .Great Guinness. Thanks

Very disappointed with the dress code of the person who waited on our table. I realise tattoos are the in thing but the bare midriff is another matter. When sitting down ordering a meal one does not want to be looking at someone's navel. Just my personal opinion. Good service and meal.
