We have spent the last 9months travelling around NZ for 1yr in our motorhome . And i have to say that the bar meal we ordered with our beer was sooo big that i immediately ordered a doggy bag . It was tea that night . The service was extremely quick and staff were very pleasant and helpful . And it was DOG friendly the waiter immediately once saw the dog brought out a water bowl.

Great pub grub with fast friendly service. We didn’t have a booking but we managed to get a free table quickly. Servings were hearty portions & tasty! Absolutely enjoyed my seafood chowder! It was tasty & creamy with plenty of seafood! The crusty bread was also lovely to dip into the chowder too 🤤🤤🤤 Definitely recommend if you are after a good feed!

Absolutely delicious meals, blue cod was absolutely devine and my son's shared the pork ribs and said they were delicious. Service was excellent, we will definitely be back. Many Thanks

Enjoyed a chicken burger (Possibly the Lake Side burger?), with chips and Coca Cola with Vodka. The meal was excellent, the burger included a nice size chicken breast and tasted yummy, the side chips were also crunchy. Didn't manage to eat the whole meal so took takeaway containers after.

Fabulous meal. The rib eye steak was melt in your mouth. Great view out over the lake. The chocolate deluxe dessert was amazing. Waddled away from the restaurant completely happy

Great service, views of lake Wanaka, pork spare ribs were a great portion size-not for the faint hearted. Beef burger was great and the Calamari too!

Good service, experienced a power outage after we ordered our meal. The manager was at our table and explained the situation. Waitress was really good at her job and was at our table frequently checking in and making sure everything is ok. Food arrived and was really good.

as regular visitors to wanaka we found our local closed. Found The Lake bar which has excellent staff food and atmosphere plus a tab . a perfect place for our afternoon out mixed results on the horses though lol

Great portion, good service and lovely spot which is close to that wanaka tree. We order the Mussels n shrimp with green curry which is amazing and burger cooks perfectly. Will recommend

Came for lunch, and it was so good we came back for dinner. Delicious both times. And very generous sized meals, definitely worth the money!

Amazing little gem of a bar, tucked above the busy street along the water front. Staff were world class, as was the views. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice spot to people watch, or just stare at the lake Wanaka.

We had the best beef ribs here. Just delicious. Had good time with here. Kids menu was nice and was loved. What we liked was the sports on the nice television all around. Beer was also very much to our liking. Staff was courteous. Busy parking area but still you will get it.

Calamity was super yummy, though steak didn't come out medium, but medium rare instead. But still a good cosy pub

Good customer service matched with a frosty Wanaka lager equals a very happy patron! The Caesar salad was lacking acidity but the portion was generous. Salmon was cooked to ruby perfection. Really tidy restrooms topped off the five star rating!

Had dessert here. Got the brownie was an amazing dark chocolate brownie! It was big enough for 2 of us. The dinner portions looked big as well. Will come again!

Perfect burgers. Took a bit of time but we were part of the post RnA crowd so can't blame them! Worth the wait.

Great Atmosphere in this place !! Clean as a whistle , food was Unreal - (Chowder was 🤤🤤🤤🤤) we were served by Tamra for the night , she was top notch !!

Just awesome. Fabulous food, spectacular service. With family food allergies to work around we usually see the worst, but the staff here were world class. Took them seriously, provided all the info we needed and made sure we could still have a great meal. Probably the best restaurant we've ever visited for professional service.

Had a couple before going across the road for a swim in lake Wanaka

HUGE portion sizing which made it good value for money considering Wanaka can be pricey, however my fish batter was raw on the inside. Unsure if intentional or not, it was very doughy and undercooked. It was a busy night so could've been they lifted it from the deep frier too soon, however the ribs (not pictured) were amazing.

What a fantastic meal. Venison beautifully cooked, short ribs loaded with meat mash and veg. And my meal a ribeye steak changed out fries for mash and salad. Certainly enough to satisfy a hearty eater. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a drink or 2 prior to eating ,outside there are tables over looking the lake. Inside ,leaners ,pool table up a few steps more seating.

Food was alright. Had the roast vege salad, onion was classed as a main vegetable in this dish which was odd. Service was great and staff very friendly. Very loud and busy, great for the young crowd or those just wanting a few drinks with friends.

Amazing service and food was pretty good too. Our waiter was so friendly and engaging and made our dining experience a fantastic one. Would definitely love to visit again

Good meals and the ladies love there cocktails.

Food was ok and the mulled wine lovely but the service was average. Had only jyst sat down and hadn't even picked up the drinks menu when the waitress was there asking what I wanted . I asked for a few minutes and got "oh...really". They were clearing the table before people were finished eating...got the feeling they wanted us gone asap so they could seat another table.

The foods the best.nice place to eat .petes a bit old but still doing good job .

Walked up to Lake Bar for a pint and a snack and ended up staying for dinner. The staff was Super friendly - mostly from other parts of the world, but it’s not hard to see why people stay put in Wanaka. Loved the vibe and the location close to the water.

Lake Bar was an awesome stop for lunch. The service was very friendly and welcoming, always on top of drink refills. The food was superb and our favorite place we ate during our 2 days in Wanaka. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was super tasty! Definitely stop by for food and drinks!

Ate in this bar last night with a friend, we ordered the cod & chips & the rib eye steak. Both mains were great, staff were polite and attentive. Atmosphere was nice, would definitely recommend!

My wife and I accidently left our passport wallet on a chair after a great feed in the restaurant last night. The staff sussed out my NZ phone number and rang me at 10 pm to say it was at the pub. Now that is service.!!! Thank you so much for a great feed and brilliant follow up. Tim and Lee

Nice place to sit outside at on a sunny day. Service was friendly and efficient. Portion sizes were great and food was tasty. I'd visit again.

Excellent pub food and generous serves. Just across the road from Lake Wanaka with both indoor and outdoor dining. However either come early or make sure you book. Friendly down to earth staff. We visited 3x over Easter and enjoyed our meals every visit. Special recommendation for seafood chowder, venison and salmon with nice prawn entree.

If there will be an hour wait on food they should tell you when you are ordering and be honest when we ask how much longer because we have to be somewhere. People ordered after us and had eaten and left before we got our food. The food was nice though...

We three just had nice meals and drinks great service clean rest room.

We are visiting from Australia and the kids have had a day of skiing. We get to Wanaka at about 5 and park to get a better idea about the eating places. We walk across from our car and came to The Lake Bar, it was our daughters birthday and showed her the menu on the window and she decided it was a good place to eat. We enter, doesn’t give off a great friendly family vibe, we stop off at the bar and ask for a table, the lady behind the bar (I wish I could remember her name) was lovely. Greeted us with a huge smile on her face. I mentioned it was our daughters birthday and she wished DD a happy birthday and took us to our table after we ordered our drinks. The drinks came quickly with the menus. We ordered and the food didn’t take long to come out either. Halfway through the meal, the same bar lady that greeted us came over and stealthily handed me a bit of paper which said “Would the birthday girl like a chocolate brownie?”. I said sure. We finished our dinner and then the brownie came out. Not only had she organised a candle on top of the brownie, she had also organised other bar patrons to come over and sing Happy Birthday to DD. This made my DD day. She gobbled down the brownie with a grin on her face. While she was finishing off the brownie I went and paid to a different bar member. On our way out, the lovely lady who went above and beyond for us went another extra mile and gave us back the money for the brownie and said we weren’t meant to pay for that, that was a present for DD. So my experience at this bar was exceptional all due to one staff member who worked there. Thank you so much for making our dining experience memorable.

This place is more than just high end pub food. Now I'm a real fuss pot when it comes to seafood and ive been back here on three separate occasions to order different dishes over lunch and dinner and the standard is always the same. Perfect! Keep it up in the kitchen guys

Love the place. For us the best food in town (my favourite are the beef short ribs). Good portions as well and ambience especially inside really great.

Sat down for lunch on a sunny afternoon and it was delicious. The seafood chowder was a thumbs up and the NZ King salmon was just as good. The view over the lake with the snow capped mountains made the experience complete.

Lake Bar is one of the best place for refresh after Guiding on Mountains, I went several times with my friends, staffs are friendly and service was great.

If you’re looking to eat average food for a very high cost, this is the place... drinks and service were great but really I find it crazy that a meal with a drink each costs $70+. View is great though and would come for drinks.

Please check your menu descriptions before you present to customers. It was very painful to read : 'Pepper Jews' instead of Peppadews. I presume it was just ignorance and had no other intention... The food was excellent, service perfect!
