Reviews of Concrete Bar
L.
Good location, good balcony. Basic service, average cocktails - too sweet, not balanced. All at all nothing special.
A.
Excellent service, food is delicious and those cocktails just 👌🏽 the vibe and atmosphere was also fantastic. Great initiative with the QR ordering system! Would not hesitate to come back or recommend. Thanks team!
P.
Nice place for a drink but a bit slack with Covid pass checking plus the happy hour doesn't include craft beers. Saying all that, great staff and good beer
G.
Brilliant service. Open honest support for apps, food and beverage. Personal personnel meeting needs by recognising what was needed and asked for. Trust, integrity and initiative were paramount to Concrete Bar.
D.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.
The vegetarian burger was delicious.
Recommended.
J.
The calamari was the best we have ever had. The shrimp and chorizo polenta was very tasty well presented. I suggest you try some drinks made with local gins. They were smooth and tasteful.
L.
Exquisitely tasty morsels laced with a little spice, washed down with a coffee cocktail. A most enjoyable lunch.

I went there for my nieces 21st birthday party. It's a long narrow bar with the bar to the left as you come in. Wooden decor and a balcony with seats and tables. The bar staff are friendly and efficient, the snack food I had there was good. The mini-burgers were beef but they were not seasoned. No matter, they still went down a treat. The other quarter of the space at the bar had low tables with sofa style seating. Good sound system with a contemporary selection of muzak.
s.
Good ambiance and good experience. The balcony outside gives beautiful views. However their booking system needs to update, even after booking our table was not available.
But then the staff was very good, they acknowledged that and gave us a free round of drinks while we waited.
Chips were good but Don't order the fried chicken
S.
Sat out on the balcony over Cable Car Lane - such a good spot! We had a bunch of share plates that we such good value. Fried chicken and calamari was first-class. Service was even better!
刘.
I had the Tangy Hot D'urger Vegan version :) this place is so cool !
Amid the concrete jungle is this bar with a balcony with a city view.
I'm tempted to ask if I could bring my puppy back here and hang out here for a bite & a drink on a nice day.
Because it's quite a spot. 😊🙏🏼
S.
Great spot for a meal and drinks, amazing value for money and the staff were super helpful and welcoming.
K.
Good vibes! I love their QR system💯 easy to order drinks and food! Service is always amazing here 🥰

We went today for the Boil Up & Fried Bread Special. I especially enjoyed the Boil Up which made a nice lunchtime treat and brought reminders of those special meals at marae around the country. The fried bread was a little dry, but worked well for soaking up the boil up stock. Personally, I'd do two courses with plenty of butter and golden syrup on the fried bread! A pity though this a just a short-term special, as I'd go back again.
The bar layout is straightforward with nice, clean lines. There is some cool innovation in the bathrooms - I loved the custom-made sink.
I'm not sure when I last visited this premises. I've got vague memories of its early incarnations. It's a beautiful building though - sitting quite incongruously among the steel and glass of Lambton Quay. Look up at Cable Car Lane to see its grandeur.

I came for the bottomless fried chicken and it was amazing. The chicken was dope, the staff were really nice and helpful and the beer was cheap (for Wellington anyway)!
N.
Had my sister's 40th last night and it was the perfect venue. Bar tenders were freaking epic! Food outstanding and phenonmenal D.J. Can't thank the staff enough for how smoothly the night went! Thank you!
J.
Great space for casual drinks after work.
m.
Bottomless fried chicken Thursday expedition. Was really good. Pleasent serving staff who engaged in it bit of banter. Have an app to order drinks and food to table - like magic!
M.
Great service. Adjusted my vegetarian burger (added haloumi) as requested. Very noisy so we didn't stay long.
A.
Really nice place. Good for a drink after work. Drinks are affordable. Great to meet people here. Nice and central location. There are indoor and outdoor parts. Drinks were very flavoursome. Will def be returning.
T.
Pumping with people yet quick and brilliant service. Thank you.
M.
An amazing place to be in Wellington. Outstanding customer service, smiley and efficient. Good burgers, but seriously, the chicken was juicy and tender, along with delicious cheese and tasty bread. A visually pleasant bar that will make you want to stay. Make sure to visit it.
M.
Amazing food. Drinks are well thought out and taist great, please ask for a recommendation. The manager is enthusiastic and you can tell he enjoys the bar maybe even more then I do.
C.
Noisy, crowded, no where to escape the smell of the cigarette smoke as it drifts in from outside.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The cocktails are brilliant and the food is tasty. More than anything the constant cigarette smoke drifting inside let this place down
J.
Some of the best drinks I've ever had and the staff are very helpful and attentive! Cool, unique decor really rounds off the experience. Will definitely be going back
P.
Located upstairs before the cable car entrance. You find the stairs to go up just next to the Vietnamese bar. Inside the place is quite spacious with lots of tables and chairs with some set up outside around the balcony look down to Lambtkn Quay. I had a burgar with chicken and bacon and it was very nice. My colleagues had a meatball dish, pork belly and a vegetarian dish and they all enjoyed them. The waiter was very friendly with a great service. I will go back there again.
P.
One of the coolest little bars in Wellington if I hadn't been shown the place I would have never have known it was there. Good beers food not bad nothing too special. Service was friendly and fast. Overall I would go again
G.
Love the happy hour app for discounted drinks. Pinot noir taste a bit too sparkly/watery
A.
Really nice looking place, balcony caught my eye from the street so decided to go up and try it with my friend however we were thoroughly disappointed. Staff member was rude and abrupt, got our drinks order wrong. My friend spilt her drink and barman made a scene when cleaning it up. Didn't offer her a replacement either. Handled badly, wont be returning however, food was nice, props to the kitchen staff. A shame one bad staff member has let this place down. Think it suits a particular demographic (middled aged winos having a drink after work) seems they dont have much time for young people.
F.
Went for WOAP tonight. The burger was good but was a bit cold when it came and did take awhile to come. Also had the dessert that came with a cocktail, that was good too. Cool decor too and friendly staff.
A.
Delicious food! Quite possibly the best lunch i've ever had in Wellington - prawns & chorizo and the haloumi plate. 10 out of 10!
M.
Super awesome as always. Lovely people. DJ Dino let me wear his headset too 😎. I totally enjoyed my Mahi drink, calamary, salmon, halumi dishes.... Can't wait to go there again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality today ❤️
A.
Loved this gem hidden upstairs in cable car lane. Grey was wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable on the wines. Food was yummo and Kashia very friendly and efficient as manager. I definitely go back
M.
A fantastic location in Wellington & a great venue for a recent 21st. Clean, tidy, awesome staff, lovely nibbles too. The staircase posed a challenge for less ablebodied folk however.
J.

A lovely place to spend time after work with a few drinks and good company. A little hard to find if you're not already aware of it, but worth the research. A good bar with lots of good seating. Some outdoor with roof for smokers and some directly in the path of weather. An overall pleasant bar for any day of the week!

Used to go here regularly. Friday Happy hour 4:30ish to 6:30. Need to use the app via QR code on the tables. Pity the sign doesn't mention that. Slow service today (Covid affected) which is unusual. Had a good laugh with the barman on the way out! Made it a good experience overall. Worth another visit after the peak...
