food and cocktails were nice 🍸 the staff were kind of snobby and rude thought and the service was fairly slow, especially when we were one of the only people there. however I would still recommend this place.

Nice food and great menu and vibe. Waitress was a little hard to hear behind the mask and we had to wait a while for our food to be delivered after it was on the past. Would recommend though.

We had a good experience here! My Fish Tacos were lovely and as I hadn‘t been very hungry they were enough. We shared the crispy halloumi between us and while I did like it, I didn‘t love it. Something about the batter made them a bit dry, but it was fine with the lemon and dipping sauce. My boyfriend enjoyed his Korean Chicken Burger, and the drinks were fine as well.

Was nice food but service was slow and wasn't very clean

We booked a table for 10 for a birthday. We waited at the table for around 25 mins with no table service so decided to go to the bar to ask how we order and whether we get table service (as per normal restaurant etiquette) We were told it was a bit of both. We sat back at the table and ended up getting served by a Maori guy (with tamoko). He was awesome! We ordered our food and chatted with starters... BUT then when the orders came we had 3 incorrect meals and they had run out of the fish we ordered. That was annoying but the woman who was also serving us quickly gave us more options and put them to us on the house. They food was okay. Not delicious but still good. It was a busy night so workers were probably quite busy. So although the experience was pretty muddled and took a long time to get settled, we were still able to enjoy the night. I wish I took the name of our 2 main servers because they were awesome.

Food is nice but service not so great. Only 1 person serving a group of 15 people for a bottomless brunch. Had to wait for ages between each meal. One of the selections on our set menu wasn't even available - avo on toast esp when avocados in abundance at this time bit disappointing. Some of the orders were mixed up. Overall very tasty food.

Highly recommend this place! My partner and I went for dinner for her birthday, the food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere was amazing. I could not fault the food one bit, it was all very delicious. At the end of our meal, the staff surprised my partner with a special dessert for her birthday. It was a lovely and thoughtful end to a great dinner.

Had our work Christmas function last Friday. Ordered a few shared plates and it was great. Food was pre-ordered and came out within 15minutes of being seated. Food catered for vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Amazing food, so delicious and service was top notch! Would definitely recommend.

The cocktails were fabulous. The service was wonderful.

The atmosphere was good but the music was too loud and we could barely hear each other even we seated at the same table. We ordered the Wellington on a plate burger which is good. The fries tasted weird for me because I'd prefer crunchy ones. We also had chicken salad which was kinda tasteless. Only the cherry tomatos had flavour because of its natural sweetness. After all it's healthy food but I've tasted better ones so this salad was a disappointment.

I had a space burger here in August while playing "The Attack from Mars" pinball machine. Now 7 weeks later I'm back in town and guess what my first thought was at lunchtime....? Another delicious SpaceBurger

We had never been before. We wanted a place to go near Blue Bridge so we could meet up with friends and be able to walk to ferry. There were mixed reviews but decided to go anyway and see for ourselves. Excellent and attentive service from the staff, who looked after us. Helpful with what to choose. I had a non alcohol cocktail which was very nice, it had fejoa in it, (maybe called Aoraki). The food varied. I loved the calamari starter. We could happily talk to each other and the decor was nice.

Awesome wee bar. Can’t fault the service here, we had a dish that wasn’t right and when mentioned to our server the manager comped the meal straight away. Very friendly, efficient service and a fantastic drinks list too 🥰

Loved the food, however drinks service was extremely slow. Beers took more than 30 mins to arrive. Short of staff also.

Delicious food! The margaritaville was a bit small for the price but other than that good food! We had excellent service from one of the servers, however there was one particular one who was a little rude which is why I have given them 4 stars!

Loved the service but that may be because of the free margarita just for mentioning it was my leaving do. I enjoyed my vege burger and my colleagues who all had steak said it was good quality meat and cooked just how they wanted it.

A hidden gem on the waterfront (I say ‘hidden’ because I’ve never been here but I’m sure many would probably say otherwise), Flamingo Joe’s has a simple but scrumptious menu that is bound to cause consternation - so hard to choose. It’s not often I’m torn between four salad choices when there’s also bang bang chicken on offer. Will definitely need to return to attack more of then menu.

Always enjoy this place for after work drinks. Get some snack food to accompany them and it's just amazing

We hosted a end of year brunch at Flamingo Joes and it was perfect! The staff there were extremely helpful in organising + executing the event! The food was delicious too!

This place is awesome You can have your food and enjoy the amazing view of the ocean The staff were super friendly and welcoming We ordered Fish & Chips and Steak Sandwich and both were awesome For drinks we had Jug beer (guest tap) which was really good. it tasted like a really fine tap beer and we had also a pink cocktail which was made of gin and some other things and was really good (a little small though, you need 2-3 of them at least :-)))) ) Overall, a really good experience

why would you remove the steak sandwiches, they were gods gift from heaven. apart from that the burgers that we had were pretty good but quite pricey. nice staff

I went to have lunch here and it was fairly easy to get a table. While the staff were effervescent and friendly, and the drinks were great, the food wasn't so great. The burger I had was quite bland and dry, only becoming remotely edible for me with copious amounts of hot sauce, though it did look pretty. The place aesthetically speaking is really pretty, with quite a chic overlook upon the whole place with a fair view being a waterfront restaurant. All and all, I probably wouldn't have lunch there again, but would visit for drinks

I drive passed this place often, the lights always get my attention. I finally went in today :) it did not dissapoint, love love the lights,colours,seats........ I had coffee and halloumi chips. Yum and Yum :) staff were friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back at night ;)

Im a big fan of the design idea. Its young, fresh and hip, hip, hip! Pure flamingo pop. The view is fantastic and the staff is friendly. The menu is decent and the coffee is just what you were craving for. I tried the smoothie bowl, - it was definitely a very healthy choice, but it needed a bit more carbs in it, since my berries vanished into some sort of avosoup after a while. Also, I wished there would be more vegan options on the menu.

Just to let you all know, this place has the best ever veggie burger in all of Wellington! Lovely establishment, delicious beer (I recommend the Wellingtonian) and the staff are super lovely and kind c: I love the colour scheme of the restaurant as well, and the music choice is pretty smooth. Highly recommend taking your business there, it's definitely worth it !

Great food, great staff - Georgia (the one with short hair) was particularly fantastic with food and drink recommendations. She was super friendly and very helpful with catering to my ~strange~ dietary requirements. Will be back for sure!

Went with a group of three of us on the 16th, and our waitress was really nice and attentive despite it being super packed Friday night. Food and cocktails were awesome, and we had a great time. Will definitely be back in future.

Great service and good food. Fairly small selection but what we had was VERY good. Tacos were yummy and their yummy thick fries are worth going in for. Not being a Fortunes Favors fan though does leave the beer selection a bit limited.

I have several problems with food that make dining difficult and embarrassing at times. Flamingo Joe's were just incredible! Our waitress Ella was so kind about it and didn't make me feel like a burden at all. She even talked to the chef to create a beautiful dish that my tummy could manage. Thank you Ella for making my day! Will definitely be back.

Really expensive, but close to work which is handy and nice beverages after the cost. Fine decor.

Has a great range of food at reasonable price. With the whole family and a friend we were able to all eat an interesting range of cuisine with the kids happy with more traditional fare while I was able to partake in a refreshing healthy Hawaiian poke bowl. Initially wasn't going to have desert but glad we did as wonderfully presented and tasting treats. Service team was friendly and prompt and decor refreshingly bright. Had good view of harbour during the meal. Will be back next time in Wellington.

Fantastic location. Staff were friendly and attentive. Beef fillet was delicious and the shared plates topped it off. Don't forget to order the Bang Bang Chicken.. yum.

Fab place for an afternoon of bubbles consumption. Love the decor, location and music. Staff were attentive and professional. Although we did not eat here, seeing the food being served to other customers looked hearty and mouth watering. Looking forward to a meal here. The different zones appear to lend themselves well for all groups. Thank you for the excellent service.

Vibe is nice. Service so so. In a entirely empty restaurant the first thing they did was ask me to sit elsewhere (smaller table) because I was probably blocking the a table of six. Fine, no worries. But if I'm only having a quick drink, ask me to move once it fills up. No problem. Service then proceeded to ignore me. I needed to approach the bar to order something. Again, not a big problem, but attentiveness clearly isn't their strong suit. I can't rate the food as I did not eat here.

Went here with friends, didnt know this place existed until they told me about it ! Definitely worth the visit. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Lovely view of the waterfront. Had the fish tacos and they were really nice. Fish was cooked very nicely and was fresh. Would go back again.

Great vibe, lovely staff, took a tiny winy bit long to get served but it was busy busy after the phoenix game. Nothing that a friendly smile and great food can't fix. Cheers

Came with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon and had a really good experience here. All the staff were super friendly and obliging. Our server Miguel was great and was kind enough to put us in a really nice sunny spot when we asked. Great cocktails and atmosphere. 10/10 would come again.

Had bottomless brunch. Was awesome. They don't rush you, don't force you to leave or drink or order. Were just all around great and made our Sunday afternoon lovely. Food and mimosas were lovely.... The number of mimosas I had in 2 hours may have contributed to this review...😂😂

Great cocktails and best calamari we have ever had. Our compliments to the bar tenders and the chef. Service was great. Very friendly courteous staff.

Cozy place, although it is not cheap. But they have a lot of promo on weekdays. Still reasonable price.

Exceptional service and great food. Despite running into a couple issues with a power outage in the kitchen, the staff more than made up for the hold up. They have an excellent vegetarian range, the veggie patty is very good! And the desserts are super yum! We will definitely be returning ASAP. Highly recommend Flamingo Joes.

My friends and I had a great time at bottomless brunch. So good for what you pay- bottomless food and drinks for $50. Good quality food and service ! :)

Incredibly mediocre. Gorgeous spot, drinks are drinks, staff is very nice. The food was just bland as could be. It's hard to make a fried pickle bad, but somehow they managed - the batter tasted like mushy water, the pickle tasted like a regular tinned gherkin, and the dipping cheese was gritty and flavourless. I'll go back for after work drinks, since it's well-situated, the cocktails are good, and the decor is fun, but I'll definitely be remembering not to order any food.

Drink were nice but food did not meet expectations. The burger didn't have much to it considering it was $25. Felt like it was something i could make from frozen ingredients at home :(

Update: Following an amazing and understanding reply from Flamingo Joes we have tried again and the experience was much improved:) - On Tuesday myself and three mates went to Flamingo Joe's for some Christmas drinks and I'm sad to say the service we received was terribly poor. We got there at 430 and the bar was pretty quiet. We were told to take a seat and there would be table service only. After ordering the first jug of beer it took 15 minutes to arrive. Following this, no one came to our table again. I finally gave up waiting and went to the bar, there was a guy polishing glasses who completely ignored me and another group waiting to be served. After polishing a few more he finally said hello, and told me it was table service only. I said that we'd waited so long for someone to come to our table to order more drinks that I gave up and came to the bar. Begrudgingly he took my order and told me to return to the table. After finishing the second jug, we waited another 20 minutes and were still not seen by anyone. By this point we gave up and left. On walking out, we saw three of your staff sitting down outside smoking and being served beers by other staff. Not a great look! We went straight across the road to the Duke of Wellington and spent a further $100 and received bar service immediately. Just wanted to pass this feedback on as the vibe at Flamingo Joe's is great. But it's being let down by your lack luster staff, and this desire to offer table service but then not actually providing it.

This place has a nice vibe and plenty of seating. I only got to stay for a drink, but I'm keen to come back and try the eats.

I ordered the avocado on toast without feta it was fresh and tasty 🥑, and the banana smoothie, both were amazing 🍌. I would definitely go back. Both were 10/10 so good 😊 and the colours are so beautiful and the service was super good and fast and brunch was amazing thank you.

Was a nice day so nice views whole sitting outside. The ordering was a bit slow as the tech the woman was using wasnt working very well. Food was ok, the bacon on my dish was lukewarm and the potato rosti had no real flavour.

More of a bar than an eatery I feel. Re the share plates, calamari was good, battered pickles atrocious.... I had the summer salad w chicken & at $32, outrageously overpriced. Came here for a work function, wouldn't return to fork out my own hard-earned...

This is a flash, upmarket, new bar on Custom House Quay under the new PWC headquarters. The establishment is very popular, so make sure you book a table or you will be standing outside. We were served by professional, friendly staff. Inside was clean and tidy with good facilities. Prices were typical of inner city Wellington. A nice addition to the Wellington waterfront bar scene.

Went here for dinner, was very impressed! Great vibe, the floor staff were fantastic, very attentive and knowledgeable! Food was tasty, fun and well presented and drinks were great. Overall thoroughly enjoyed my evening and highly recommend to everyone!

Hey guys. Your buttermilk chicken burger needs a sauce on it with some flavour. Extra pickles would also help. Atmosphere was good. Food was average.

Nice place to have a drink. Ordered the Philly cheese steak bowl which really good! Downside the mens toilets stank of piss. Really got a good whiff of it near the counter. Seems like the piss has just soaked into the concrete.

Yeah, I'll visit again. The Cheeseburger wasn't half bad, plenty of flavor. Love the fact the meat was slightly pink, as was the bread and aoili. Wasn't pumping when I visited which helped the ambiance.

Went there for dinner and would definitely go back! Had the buffalo chicken flatbread which had a great kick and so much flavour! Really generous size too - for the price, I was expecting something way smaller. Staff were amazing and so welcoming. Great view over the waterfront. The decor was super fun and quirky and the whole atmosphere was really playful. Loved it!!

It was a great environment, only issue was steak was more on the rare side than medium like i asked. But, it was still tasty so i ate it all up.

Looooved the food. Fast service, fresh hot and Tasty. A must try ::::: Hallumi deep fried fingers. (I made that name up - but it's real) omGOSH. Had a Cocktail.. BEWARE . . I ordered a 'to fly for a mai tai'. I did not enjoy it, and had to take it back after a few sips.. A particular smell and taste that was not for me. It was the Star Anise, a signature item for that drink (not stated in description) and did not taste like aniseed/liquorice ANYWAYS, the staff were fantastic, and swapped it for a more Palletable creamy coconutty Pina Colada. Bright vibrant inviting place to go. Was there Friday evening, had workers through to family groups in.

An absolute favourite. An awesome selection of draft cocktails - amazing mugs, and a great vibe. Top notch staff as well. Don't just take my world for it, visit yourself.

Fun atmosphere. Brunch is something a bit different, with Southern US influences. Quality gin cocktails that are tasty and readily available. Good views

Can get quite busy on Fridays after work, which is the norm in Wellington. Good table service which makes it easier to enjoy your time there, instead of waiting at the bar for a drink.

Breakfast set eggs and coffee. You get a small cup of coffee suitable for a hobbit and plain poached eggs on toast. More worth to buy a la carte for these items as the coffee is bigger for human size and the egg on toasts comes with additionals on the plate. All for extra couple of dollars.

What a delightful restaurant bar, right down to the tiki flamingo atmosphere. We had the prawns and the cerviche. Both dishes were prepared to perfection.

popular, full in the afternoons (regardless of the weather) with a nice atmosphere. Its a bit pricey for my liking but nice views, good company this is certainly on the list of places to see

Have wanted to go here for ages before finally going. We only had a drink but it was great and such a lovely environment to sit, chat and chill.

Amazing food! I tried the Guacamole (deconstructed but incredibly delicious), Prawn Dumplings (so succulent) and the Seafood Pasta. Also had very cool cocktails with a unique menu. Cute atmosphere and great central Wellington location.
