Right as you open the door Night flower takes you to a different place. Velvet reds black wood you know you are in for a good night. Love how they don't have a menu and they tailor made based on your desire and their skills combined you know you are on a pro league with these kind of approach and talent. The service was very cool, approachable and very knowledgeable you know you are in good hands and you can never go wrong. We were very comfortable discussing what we like from sweet or savoury to citrus flavour profile to different base of bourbon or champagne and they will whip they're magic wands and create a cocktail tailored just for you how cool is that. You can always come back to night flower and always have something new. It was a great experience and would love to come again.

Amazing experience. Hard to find, you have to look for the door with the lion knocker- but once you're in the atmosphere is amazing. The staff were so friendly and accommodating! Since there was no menu my friend and I were worried we wouldn't know enough about cocktails to order something we would enjoy but we were given both some options of punch as well as one of the staff coming over to discuss what flavours, drinks, styles we liked etc. (with so much enthusiasm which was really comforting) and tailored something so perfect to both of us. On the pricier side but I actually ended up spending less than expected so definitely worth it.

Unique experience in Welly. Probably one of the coolest bars in town. They specialise in punch, and practically every drink imaginable. Amazing decor, heaps of oldies playing and the bartenders are dressed accordingly to the vibe. They are able to help you with any drink recommendations. I had a punch that had a recipe from the 1700s!

Very hard to find!!! Look for the beat up stairs and lion head door. Well worth the hunt though, great atmosphere and lovely staff and drinks. Wish we had the endurance to try more! Was a bit hipster but honestly no more so than the rest of Wellington. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem in the heart of city, might take a while to find the entrance at the first time but totally worth taking the adventure! No menu offered but warm gestures by the bartender with his wide knowledge and play magic to the create the tasty cocktail based on your preference. Love everything here, such a great spot to enjoy a peaceful quiet time at the balcony overlooking the busy street

We had a lovely time ,our barman was great can't remember his name but we were there Sunday 5pm .You need to have time as they will make each drink to suit your individual needs and no price list or menu .highly recommend for couple drinks

Proper cocktails in NZ. It's been a bit of a challenge to find what NYC has spoiled me with, until this place. Extremely knowledgeable bartenders crafting well researched and well devised cocktails. Takes the craft seriously, which shows from music to decor to the drinks themselves. Very pleased to have accidently discover this place. Will revisit. It's nice to have an outpost.

Interesting, intimate cocktail bar. Dark and hard to find in the tradition of Wellington cocktail bars. No menu, which means you have to tell the server what you feel like and they have to dredge some guesses to hand from memory. The drinks I had were all delicious. But the drawback to no menu is no prices, and I had no idea how much I'd spent until we left, and it was pricey. This place is not for the slim of wallet. I think they could do with a small "inspirational" menu as well, for this who come in looking for something they wouldn't think of by themselves, or lacking the mindspace to make a choice from infinite possibilities, with prices so at least people know what they're getting into.

This is a stunning little place, if you know it you know it. And now I know it I'm coming back. The service of both people on tonight was spectacular. This is a very customer focused bar where I don't believe any two drinks are the same. The atmosphere and decor is stunning and honestly it was an amazing first date spot! They catered to all my requirements, and there were a few, and made some fabulous mocktails for me! I will be back and this time, we're trying them with booze!!

What a great place . A hidden chem in the big capital . You would never find this place unless you know where it is. It is a cocktail bar that takes you back to the time of an era that was classy . Sophisticated and glamorous. Glassware also matches the time and the era. It is a place where they make cocktails based of what you like and feel. Could ask for a berry style cocktail. With a smokey flavour. More sweet then citrus . And out pops this work of art. Was great and will return. Some would say it is expensive. I would say you can't put a price on artists who work to create your ideal drink. 6 cocktails cost us (2 of us ) $73.00 . Good luck in discovering your taste buds and push the boundaries and ask for a surprise. Haha haha.

Promising a cornucopia of custom cocktail concoctions, Nightflower operates without a menu but instead allows their mixologists to craft a selection based on a quick conversation to determine the customer’s flavour preference. This sounds like a fantastic idea in theory and the cocktails we received matched the flavors we asked for. So overall we really enjoyed our drinks... and the jazzy atmosphere. However, without a menu, and with flavour choice placed squarely in our hands, there was some apprehension in the ordering process. Had we chosen wisely? Will my limited palate just give me a limited set of results? Do I actually discount all rum based drinks or do I open up the potential to be surprised? I am not Tom Cruise. I cannot make a cocktail to save my life! What have I done?! I think I may have been happier if I was presented with at least an option to choose from a “chef’s special menu”. Oh well, I guess if I want a safer choice I can always go back to somewhere I’ve been before. Life is too short for safe choices though. The other suggestion I would make would be clearer signage. We missed the magic door knocker and initially would up on the wrong floor in the wrong bar. Awks.

If you feel like delighting your senses with an exotic cocktail prepared according to your mood, then Night Flower is the place to be. Right in the heart of Guznee street is a delight to sit on the balcony and watch people pass by (in a beautiful day of course). The staff are very friendly and the bar has a nice and relaxing ambiance where you can actually think and talk. If anything a bit pricey, but worth it.

UPDATE September 2021: We returned to Wellington after 8 months and revisited Night Flower. We were wearing masks (level 2). And when we entered the place Johnny said welcome back... We thought maybe he's saying welcome back to everyone. But to our amazement he went on to tell us what drinks we had last time ... again 8 MONTHS AGO.. It was unbelievable. Love what these guys are doing. Initial Review January 2021: Ambiance - perfect for a date night, smooth, dark, great background music, really love the atmosphere they create here. We went twice in our short weekend trip. First time it was a flop, we ordered what we were recommended and when I got my drink it was not what I expected and not in a good way. Diluted and so far away from its name (pina colada) that I could not understand why it’s called that. But the guys were super professional and I really loved the service and ambiance ... so we went again the second night and told them that we didn’t enjoy the drinks. Renwick took the feedback very well, no ego or nonsense, had a drink with us and then went to create drinks that we really enjoyed. Yes there is no menu so if you are in a Jack and Coke mood maybe best to stay away. It takes some time to understand the concept, and discover it, so may not be for your everyday Steinlagger either. The guys really try hard to understand the clients and create something unique, and yes sometimes they miss the spot... but they encourage you as a client to tell them if they didn’t quite get it and with no drama they make it up. I really loved the concept and work they do. It’s a labor intensive place with 8 to 10 bartenders working a weekend night so I really appreciate the challenges , I support them because they don’t take the easy way ! Keep it up ! Cheers Mario

This has to be the best speakeasy cocktail bar in Wellington. Sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender is part of the complete experience. After 2 great cocktails, our 3rd we requested "dessert" cocktails, and the 4th we asked him to try and shock us with the most visually flamboyant cocktail. He absolutely delivered. So excited to go back again.

From the moment you enter through the sexy secret door, you are transported. Knowledgeable staff who somehow manage to keep 300+ coctails in their head, waiting for an opportunity to show you something new. All it takes is one simple look around to see how much they all love what they do. Everyone brings something different to the table, weather it be an excellent coctail, buckets of knowledge, warmth in service, funny quips and anecdotes or an opportunity to broaden you pallette. They use all fresh ingredients and and I have to say the garnish game is on point. Always recommend to friends and family. A cut above the rest.

Potentially the best cocktail spot in Wellington. Very classy looking but absolutely welcoming to everyone! Sadly not entirely accessible due to the stairs but that's not their fault. A must visit! Don't expect blended drinks or espresso martinis though. They stick to what they're great at, and whirring machinery isn't something you would want in a beautiful speakeasy style bar filled with Jazz, laughter, incense whisps and wonderful people shaking your drinks. Such a good experience! Will forever be a highlight in my life!

This is that rare place where you ask for an Aviation and they've got you covered, the Gibson is in perfect ratio, the bloody Mary is inventive, and if you crave a Ramos gin fizz you will fork out $25 plus a mandatory $5 tip for the guy who will shake your fortified egg white concoction for fifteen minutes. darkThis It'saint New Orleans, the world's most marvelous cocktail Haven, but it serves you well. Night Flower is cozy, and might be the Southern Hemisphere's most perfect cocktail bar. Find it. Ask for Moth. They will do you right...

Johnny gave great service, he is a charming and charismatic lad, worth going there just to meet him. I had the "old cuban" cocktail, a gentlemanly take on the Mojito. Call it a mojito with a spine. My friend had the knickerbocker, which was a well balanced drop with a tidy aftertaste. I love the elegant decor and dim lit demeanor, the staff look sharp and professional and it appears the business encourages people to be their true self, whilst delivering exceptional service. Okay now this is my happy place... It's a bit wierd to come into a place with no menu, but the guys on the bar are so passionate and knowledgeable on not only cocktail recipes, but the flavour profiles of the drinks, they will no doubt be able to recommend a drink (or three or four) you'll love. There's also a history lesson there if you ask for it. It's as interactive as you want it to be. Also, that milk punch is absolutely amazing. Definately coming back.
