English style pub with a cosy front bar and a nice spacious outdoor area. A great range of beers Spring and Fern beers available on tap. Owners were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The bar has a strong local vibe, a great playlist and a good food menu. Bonus that the serve pints and reasonable prices.

Just had a reply to my comment (see added pic) The reply is absolute nonsense! The people beside us were known to us and friends, the owners are not reflecting their poor engagement with people if they did could improve. Or could bury their head in the sand and keep acting in the same manner .......... I wonder what their reply will be to this comment?

A not so hidden gem on Tinakori Road. Just a short 10 - 12 minute walk from the Sofitel Hotel on Bolton Street. Try a tasting tray just to get a feel for the beers and ciders on offer. But the pick of the bunch for the ladies... was the 'Grown up Lemonade'. For me, the Porter was a stand out. Grab yourself a fishbite sandwich and some curly fries. Job done. We'll be back for sure.

A cosy local pub with a generous selection of craft beers on tap. Great pizzas and delicious curly fries for the kids and a range of old school board games for young and not so young. A favourite Winter pop in after a family walk through the Botanical Gardens.

Fantastic local tavern. Felt like I was back in London with live music, cosy setting, and amazing staff. The pair behind the bar last night were top notch. They even asked if we were enjoying ourselves when ordering drinks, and checked that we had a great night, which we did, when we were leaving. Glad we found this spot. Bonus is that they pour Nelson's finest beer too. Check out the fresh hopped beer on tap at the moment as well. There's an unfiltered NZ IPA on tap now that is amazing! Cheers 🍻

Literally an older house remodeled into craftbeer bar, Sprig & Fern presents itself as a more elegant British pub, so much so that even some of the patrons seem to be having very British conversations haha (sorry, can't help but listen sometimes). While it's perfectly neat and clean, I honestly can't really see myself dying to come back here just bc it seems too fancy for my liking with less entertaining things to look at (although, they do have some great NZ craftbeer books available). But the top unique element of S&F is their Buy Your Mate A Beer board, buy them a beer and let them redeem when they come in. Genius.

Excellent selection of beers on tap, you can also get refills for at home imbibing or at the Botanic Gardens across the road during summer concerts. A great place to come prior to hitting town and they do a mean pie too. Nice number of board games too if you need a break from drinking!

Great beer and a really accommodating staff. Our little boys are a challenge to keep entertained, but a nice nook with a selection of board games was awesome. Good food and beer. What more could you want?

This is not a brew pub, it is in fact an independent pub that sells only one brewery beer (at least at time of writing). We had the sampler each (tasting flight) and tried 10 beers between us. All were good. Some excellent. Matched well by the curly fries.

Real cosy bar ,took day off last Wednesday to spend time in Wellington.Great range of beer on tap and excellent whisky range. There are board games to play. The staff were very welcoming.There is seating outside for the warmer days.If you don’t want to drive take the cable car and walk through the botanical garden.Then after a pizza at bar stroll the heritage shops.

I was visiting Wellington from Christchurch and the friends I was staying with opted for a traditional (unaccompanied) folk song singing session in an upstairs room on a Sunday night. We seated about 20 and were left to ourselves, except for ordered refreshments. We couldn't hear any distracting music from downstairs. Congrats to the management for allowing this essentially alcohol-free activity to take place.

Nice Pub, wonderful beer, Sprig and Fern Porter is a lovely rich dark beer, wonderful flavour. Relaxing atmosphere with a little food and snacks available. Recommended by you local Google guide

Music was just too loud for my liking even though it wasn't busy, the platter was fairly basic and not very generous and if you didn't want pizza there was nothing substantial to eat.

We love the quiz here on a Tuesday evening! The quiz master is fantastic and makes the entire quiz himself so this isn't just your average quiz. Great vibe, met some great people here and the staff are always lovely.

A nice local pub. The Sprig and Fern beer range is good and there is always one or two seasonal drops on tap. The curly fries are amazing and kids toys keep the little ones entertained. On a sunny day the small, sheltered court yard out back is great.

With so much great beer available in Wellington I don't think I will visit the Sprig regularly even though it is roughly 50m from my door. I am pro choice and brewery bars that can't even put one tap over to a guest just don't do it for me... Especially when the house beer is as average as these..nice but not exceptional and that's just not good enough in the Wellington beer scene. My one word review would be - "bland"

This is one of my favourite bars in Wellington. The vibe is laid back and friendly, there's no annoying distractions such as TV's, pool tables, gaming machines and so forth, so you can sit with your friends have have an actual conversation. Novel! The selection of beers is also awesome - they serve their own Sprig and Fern beers on tap (I've never bothered to check what they have in bottles) all of which are very good, and some are outstanding - looking at you Fern Draught! Go in a few times and the staff will remember your name and probably your usual order (unless you're like me and get something different every time!).
