Cool place with a hip vibe. Good food and wonderful service.

Had a fantastic family Sunday lunch here at Loco with our dog. Gemma and her crew provided great service even for our dog. The food was awesome,delicious,and delivered quickly. The nachos had the fillings layered so every chip was used. So good A+++ recommended

The hippest place in town. And a great location to relax and people watch. Would be nice if they had tap beer though.

Came to whangerei for the long weekend from Auckland. This was the first place we spotted as they had a delicious kiwi fruit daiquiri slushy (they have different slushies everyday they said) and the I assume manager was really welcoming. There food smelt nice but was only there for the drinks… went back 3 times that day but then they sold out of the slushy drink so we ended up buying random cocktails which were strong and I disliked.. don’t get the old fashioned unless you like STRONG STRONG 😂 but other then that 10/10 the place was a whole vibe wish we had a place like that in Auckland ..

Nice, lively place with scrumptious South American style morsels on the menu, moderately priced. Outrageous cocktails! Just what Whangarei needed for a summer evening out with friends!

Staff are amazing, Olli has a great sense of humour. You have got to try their new slushiess. The food is the best.

We'd wandered around Whangarei trying to find a late bite to eat, and i had food intolerances amd LOCO were friggn awesome 👌 would recommend them hands down.

Loved the drinks and the food, one of the servers were a little uninterested with one of our parties request but the other one was fabulous and convinced us (easily) to get the special which was delicious.

Food was great! staff were friendly and nice colourful alfresco dining. Only the music was too loud which made the busker leave which was a shame. Ruined the relaxing sunny afternoon atmosphere.

Just what Whangarei needs! Great ambiance, delicious food and great margaritas!! The service was awesome and the spicy Latin music made me feel like dancing.

First time at Loco and we are locals... Great company, fabulous atmosphere and most importantly great food flavours... Loved every dish we tried.. Gemma and Poppy looked after our table perfectly. We will be back❤️

This food was amazing! Got the quesadilla, beef cheek nachos, and a shared chicken and pork platter. Was not what I was expecting in the platter but WOW is all I have to say. The lady that served us to was great. Highly recommend and so wish I lived in Whangarei as I would eat there again and again!!!

Loved it. Great vibe, excellent service, good food. Just need to keep an eye on the crockery, a couple of noticeable chips in the glaze on my salad bowl. That's being picky, but some people are very picky.

Mexican/south American. Huge steak, tiny tacos. Lots of people enjoying themselves on a Friday night. Probably more attractive to cocktail and tequila set than families

Butter Milk Chicken tacos were amazing as were the slushies.

Beautiful cocktails and the best personal service that seems to have been missing from Whangarei. Love Loco! Breath of fresh air in this town xx

Wow, what a pleasure. I’m not a South American cuisine expert but I know my Central American food. From the well flavoured smoked beef cheek nachos and quesadillas to the moorish popcorn grits paired with a beautifully spiced sausage this establishment was spot on. Recommend to all, with a fantastic location, caring staff and funky atmosphere this place is a winner.

Really enjoyed my first visit here. Service was fantastic, food fresh and tasty. Lovely surroundings. Will definitely be back.

We had notchos and the mole whole chicken. the nacho was outstanding and a generous portion. the mole chicken seems like they are still working on the recipie. I would give the place four stars and a free star for anyone who has the courage to open a restaurant in todays market.

Really happy with what we ordered. Tuna ceviche, pork ribs, beef cheek nachos. Plus great Margaritas and a good beer selection.

Cocktails are delicious and well made. The share plates are quite small and really only feed one person well which is quite disappointing given the price.

Such a lovely spot on the waterfront, well thought out, awesome staff. Warm and welcoming, great food, friendly vibe. A must-visit for anyone in town. 🤠🤠
