E.I have been here countless times and I don't have a single complaint. Staff are fast and friendly. Food is absolutely delicious. NY personal favorite is their lamb madras. Portions are good and their lunch deals give you a great size for a great price. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in ashburton
H.Just had butter chicken with Garlic Naan and I have to say I highly recommend. The tastiest butter chicken I have had. I took 1 star due to having to wait close to 50 minutes for our meal. They apologized for the wai and we're very polite. Will definitely be going back

P.Best place to have indian food in Ashburton. If you are passing by Ashburton than it is the place where u can get yummy indian food. Stuff is so kind they provided us food at 9:30pm which is quite rare in small town. Very Spacious, beautiful interior. The food was great and economic too. 😀😋

A.Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight thanks to Taj Spice... We usually just order butter chicken or mango chicken when ordering Indian food but we we're feeling adventurous and decided to order the goat curry and chicken garlic balti! No regrets! So delicious and the onion bhajits were just super too! The best onion bhajits in town 😊😊👌

A.I was hanging out for this place since last year. Used to eat here regularly when I lived near, one of if not the best Indian I've had in NZ. Unfortunately missed lunch so we ordered takeaways for dinner & got the meal deal family $55 and it was so worth it. Plenty of food which was just delicious!!! The staff are just always so lovely. LOVE the taste of all their food.

R.Possibly the best Indian food we have had in the South Island so far. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. If you need a warm tasty meal, definitely pop in here. Samosas were huge!!!

G.A bit of a surprise! Have grabbed meals twice while over-nighting in Ashburton during the 2020-21 Xmas period. Food was fab, very tasty and full of flavor - naans were execellent. Spice level med-hot was bang on!!. Not quick when waiting for our orders to be made (last time it took 45 minutes for them to make our takeaway order of 3 curries and 1 naan) however the wait was worth it. Highly recommend and will order from here again!

S.Excellent, friendly service right from the phone call to order (especially loved the recommended dish) through to the pick up of our meal. Ordered four different meat curries and two different naans and could not fault any of them. So delicious! Will definitely be ordering again when I'm in Ashburton and am hoping to try the goat curry on my return.
c.Good restaurant just beware when clicking the Google search icon under the name saying 'website' as it takes you to the site for a shop in Geraldine instead of the actual Taj spice online site. I suggested the edit so it should be fixed soon but for now I'm disappointed about losing money because of this web error.
M.One of the rare places that are open till late in Ashburton. Very friendly staff with great service. We ordered various curry and all of them tasted good. They are also licensed so they have a drink menu. Great for both locals and people passing through Ashburton.

The way they serve tandoori chicken on a hot plate is awesome.
G.Excellent and inexpensive food. Medium hot wasn't as spicy as most "mediums" I've had, but perhaps the others have been hotter than they should have been. Nevertheless, TAJ was overall tops, with warm friendly service and great food.

K.Amazing food & service every Monday. Suresh has looked after us every week for the past year and is super. We love coming here and the food gets better every week. With a new owner, he has also exceeded our expectations, what a great Biriyani!
The $10.00 Lunch special is great where else can you get rice, curry, naan and a drink the best value in town!

M.My second time here. If I pass by Ashburton, I make it a point to stop by. Had this chicken briyani for $20. I couldn't finish it because the portion is really big (even though it doesn't look much at first glance in the bowl) and was able to pack the leftover home to have for dinner.

C.I've always bought Indian Minar and I was sceptical about trying Taj, but am I glad I did. Their butter chicken and tikka misala is some of the best I've ever had, better than India itself.
Recommend this to anyone wanting cheap Indian that sure isn't cheap quality.
