What a beautiful little gem. The presentation from cuttlery to the way they serve the food is really one of a kind. Got some mezze, Yoghurt drink (it is quite fizzy one, not sure if that was meant to be that why - so didn't) and kebabs.. The price of kebabs might susprise you but the portions are huge (seriously huge). Unfortunately there wasn't any flavour in the meat. It was quite bland, so that was very disappointing. They give you sumac to add to it, so it helped a little.

Visited this place for lunch today after checking out the instagram post. Ambience 10 Service 10 Food 10 Place is a family run business. From the taste one could easily tell that the food is made with love and passion. The size of the portions is rather generous. Must try their home made pistachio ice cream. Great ambiance and absolutely sensational food. Highly recommend the eggplant dip/entree. I would encourage you book ahead if you are dining with more than 2 people. Only aspect to improve on would be to update your information online to match the in-restaurant food options. Thank you for an awesome evening and we will definitely be returning “very” soon.

Best Persian restaurant in New Zealand. I come from a persian family and have never been able to find authentic persian food like this in NZ. The food is so fresh and flavourful!! Amazing persian restaurant just near the Esplanade hotel. I had the Joojeh and holy molly it was amazing. Images attached. The meat was so tasty. The presentation. Wow. You need to pre-book but we didn't know that but the manager was nice enough to let us have a table. A must visit for Persian food fans.

It’s the best place for gathering invitations such as Birthday parties as they made my Birthday special one by playing the Birthday song and bringing a piece of cake. Highly recommended.

Akdeniz looked like a great Persian restaurant judging by the meals around me, but we stopped in for what must be one of the best cafe style coffee and lunch deals in Devonport. The location in the the arcade is just a beautiful place to sit, but we had the toasted sandwich and coffee for $10. The sandwich was delicious and made with a really nice whole grain and seed bread, and the coffee was 5/5. Great location and service.

Went for dinner, the place and the food are outstanding and exceeded the expectations! I enjoyed the atmosphere with the great hospitality by the chef and owners, they really made their customers feel special! I highly recommend a visit to the place.. I am defo going there again :)

Just awesome and delicious! We were very hungry. So, we just went to the restaurant and took a table. The manager asked us if we have any prior booking. We said that we didn't know and was about to leave. He was so humble and helpful, he said let's have a seat and order as fast as we can, he will arrange! We are thankful for allowing us and the food was really amazing. We had Joojeh and Chenjeh! Would highly recommend!

Indeed recommend it. One of the best Persian restaurants in Auckland, give it try with yummy food with wonderful taste. The kebab here is one of a kind. All sorts of them. Fresh and beautifully barbecued . I haven't had this quality of food/meat anywhere in nz. If you are looking for some topnotch Persian food( real authentic barbecued Persian kebab) ,give this place a shot. It's well worth it👌. Thank you

So far, this has been the most genuine Persian cuisine I’ve tried in New Zealand. This is in par with Nayeb in Tehran (if you know what that is). And if you’re into Persian cuisines, you should definitely try it imo.

We went to this restaurant for the first time today and it was one of the best experiences we had in Auckland. The customer service was so polite and nice friendly. One of the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The environment with music felt so calm and relaxing, away from the busy streets this was a place you would want to bring your family for a nice comfortable meal. Kids had a play area which quite good and awsome. The meals are reasonable and value for money with coffee which was different and best. The kids had a special menu with drink and desert which I thought was quite kool. Most and the Best of it was that they was HALAL. Want to destress yourself. A nice meal or coffee with walk around a small town, beach side, kids playarea and value for food. Guys this is the place to go. In Auckland but feels out of Auckland.

We decided to have a lunch at this restaurant last week and we were impressed. We ordered Koobide (2 skeweres of persian minced shish) and Jooje (two skewers of chicken fillet) and Yogurt Drink. The dishes were very delicious and the drink was so fresh and yummy. The sides of the dish worked wonderfully with the main dish. The sizes of the dishes were large and we were completely full. The staffs were also very friendly.

Absolutely amazing! From the food, to the decor, to the details, to the atmosphere you won't be let down at all! By far the best Persian kebabs we have tried in NZ and their lamb shanks are divine!! We couldn't stop admiring the place the owners are so lovely and kind and they have taken care of the smallest details. You literally feel like you are in a little corner of the middle east.

We were visiting from Wellington and were recommended Akdeniz to dine in. we were greeted by a lovely hostess and straight away could see and hear great atmosphere and great music. The food was divine. We ordered the Akdeniz mix and added Koobideh (forgot to take the photo before start eating, as it looked very appetising) Overall I can easily say Akdeniz surpasses all other competitors in Auckland. Definitely recommend them.

Baklava out of this world, great bargain and family friendly Found this little gem tucked away within the Devonport arcade. Their baklava is amazinging! Crispy, sweet, and with a perfect balance of flavors. I think this just might be the best baklava I’ve ever had. The perfect little treat to grab before a walk around Devonport’s beautiful harbour. The owner’s wife makes a fresh tray every morning in small batches, so you know it’s made with love. Not only that, but she’s been perfecting this recipe for 8 years! Highly recommend this place, both the food and the service was lovely, and the prices were great. If you’re looking for a larger meal, their calamari is delicious, and a bargain at $10.

A very lovely family managing and operating this Persian restaurant in a the stunning area of Devenport where you can have a pleasant coastal walk before/after the meal which is usually a big portion. I quite like the copper plates, cups, and jars which is a great representation of Iran. The food was great. We were 4 people ordered Ghormeh sabzi and two dishes of Kebab & Soltani. I appreciate the efforts they made to offer a very decent quality. The atmosphere however is small due to the lack of space. Some tables are wobbly needs to fix. And do not miss out the saffron ice cream for your dessert. All the best for them as they are running by far the best Persian restaurant in NZ.

I first dined here with a couple of friends and food was absolutely delicious. Loads of flavour, decent serving size and was a great experience. So I knew it would be perfect for a family gathering we had for a few up and coming Birthday celebrations. There was 12 of us in total and what can I say! For a family from a different cultural background of the Pacific. They were absolutely astonished on the quality and serving size. We ended up requesting take away plates as we could not finish our food haha The kids were pleased with their food and with the kiddie corner (and I hope they did not make too much of a mess) it’s was pleasing to know that they were fine with us bringing in a cake and allowing us to share it there also (plates and forks provided!) Only small down fall, is our table of finished cutlery were a bit slow to be collected. Certainly was not hard to bring that to your attention though. All in all, 12 very satisfied and happy tummies that evening 😊

Great food. The only downside for me was that there was too much to eat (!!). I am neither a slow nor a small eater, but by the end of my meal, my lamb and chicken was pretty much cold. Sometimes, less is more, at least when it comes to enjoying this kind of food. Will happily come back though!

The owner & staff were so friendly & professional that even with 8 of us each one of us got their own meal and we didn't felt it was delayed but on the contrary came on time with each getting what they ordered. The meals were so delicious which made us share all of it with all of us, tender & fresh and cooked to perfection. Definitely we are going back there asap to enjoy a dinner especially on a Friday day. Finally, the cost were much less than the top quality food that we didn't have to sell our cars to pay the bills. Twice. and the experience of having a authentic turkish cuisine is just amazing here. Being a vegan, i took up the falafel version & rice which was so simply amazing and a special mention to the smoked eggplant - extremely divine. My husband took the lamb rice platter which was really succulent in taste!. One suggestion, maybe in terms of vegan options, apart from falafel, can any other options be added? that would be simply good if it happens. Overall worth the visit from sandringham to devonport

This little hidden gem is amazing not only for location but for food and price. We had a work meeting there and we all fell in love with this place. The section upstairs was private and relaxed.
