Love this place and how homely it is. Really appreciate their safe approach to the pandemic it made my immune compromised daughter feel safe which she struggles with during the pandemic. Thank you so much for that. They have a wonderful selection of food and a really friendly atmosphere. The staff were really welcoming and accommodating and knew a lot about Huia. Loved meeting Pamela! Will be back again with some friends to show them this gem of a place.

had a lovely family lunch here today, there was something for everyone. Loved the calamari salad and my dad loved his huge 'matildas meal'. The staff were attentive and welcoming even though they looked flat off their feet busy. Finished it all off with a selection of their cabinet food which didn't last the car ride home. HIGHLY recommend! we will be back.

Alfreds is amazing. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Also the absolute BEST lemon curd tarts ever!!! Their baking is fabulous and the decor along with the whole feel of the place screams family, comfort and inclusivity.

We absolutely love alfred's store! They are so friendly, helpful and they have the most amazing treats and food! They seem to be very knowledgeable about the local history and have displayed alot of photos, tools and fun things about old huia and the people who have lived out there - really lovely to see a place so proud of their community. We have visited when they are both quite and busy - and each time we have left so impressed by the quality of service and food. The ladies who run the store are the best owners yet, so friendly and have done a wonderful job with the renovations of the shop. We look forward to our monthly trips out to huia and the community should be so proud to have these ladies running their local store!

Just stopped in to buy a couple of drinks and to get some tampons for my partner not knowing it was no longer a dairy, the lovely lady there said even though they didn't have any boxes for sale she could give me some that they keep there. Forgot to get her name but if you see this thank you :)

Great place for a bite to eat. Amazing yummy burgers with fresh fish and hot chips. They have a great selection of cakes, slices, ice cream and drinks for you too. Call ahead, pick up your order and have a picnic at the beach, Huia lower dam, or Manakau bar lookout. Lots see and explore.

First day of "picnic freedom" in Auckland and we headed to one of our favourite places Even at Level 3, the coffee and cheerful service were there, as always. Happy families on the beach with takeaways from the Store. Fab to be back

Amazing atmosphere and customer service every time I go! Alfred's is the perfect way to break up the roads you have to go through to visit anyone in Huia and the coffee is always, I mean ALWAYS better than what I'd get in the city. Food is great too, large portions at amazing prices - I've never left disappointed! You can see the team at Alfred's really go the extra mile for their little community in small yet big ways, such as their leave one take one books stand and their awesome holiday initiatives put in place - the Christmas tree last year was really special, tears were shed. Highly recommend.

Beautiful new make over from the new owners. Such a wonderful place to visit. Foods is so yummy and coffee is to die for! Loving the takeaway window that is open from 5pm Friday and Saturdays, makes dinner so easy for those nights you dont want to cook - SUPER yummy to! Love visiting this little cafe, very inviting and friendly staff. Keep up the great work!

Just had the most wonderful experience here, family day out in beautiful Huia topped of with ice cream, hot chips and a shake. I love the new store, my kids really enjoyed the play area and we enjoyed being able to sit down in the sun while they were distracted. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, good job guys we will be back.

I go to alfreds huia store quite regularly, with my (almost) 2 year old son, we are always pleasantly greeted and treated so kindly, there is a little play area my son really enjoys, and they are always very understanding of my sons food allergies and are very clear with what ingredients are in the foods. Such a beautiful environment and I love going here!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Alot of people traffic when we visited, but still not sure the wait on our one serve of hot chips was reasonable. Interesting historical reading material and pictures on the walls, that was lovely 😃. Loved the hot chips!

Amazing new decor, such a great spot for a bite. The staff are all doing great for how small the venue is. There was a line out the door! My doggies loved their pupperccinos and my coffee was delicious props to the barista. Thank you for the wonderful Sunday and good luck with your future we will be back as often as we can. Sorry about the last review left, the man must not understand how hard you are all working you all look rushed off your feet.

I feel so lucky to have this as my local! 🤩 The new makeover is stunning. I love the history behind it all and new owners have incorporated this into the classy, vintage decor. I’m looking forward to spending time here with my friends and family. I have a toddler and dogs and they cater for both! There’s a cool doggy area with dog beds and fresh water on tap. You can also order your pup a puppacino! 😁☕️ Heaps of kids options on the menu and an awesome safe play area too! 😍 They even cater for my keto diet! Yummy coffee with cream 😋

A great mix of old and new NZ. This place is dog friendly, and with several beaches including Kakamatua nearby, it is a great choice for dog owners. Parents of small kids will be happy to see a small but lovely outdoor kids playing area. Coffee is very good; soy and almond milk options are available. Traditional fare ie burger, fish and chips etc are generous in size, and seem to be delicious because I didn't see any food left on plates. 😅 There were several vegetarian options available in the food cabinet even at 3 pm. There is also a good selection of ice-creams. And last, a detail I really appreciated is that the outdoor area is nonsmoking. If you enjoy independently owned medium sized cafés, this place is worth the visit.

Cheezy sausage rolls were a banger. Neat lil store, support local. Great coffee Dont you fullaz complain about prices when you go there aye it's way out the middle of nowhere. Take yah 2min noodles and chlorinated water elsewhere and eat it.

A late lunch on Saturday afternoon out of a cool southerly. Each had hamburgers, the fish and a vegetarian. Hamburgers were generous on fresh buns with a side of chips. Also ordered a pot of green tea after seeing someone else's as this was of colonial kitchen proportions - great for rehydration and topping up the water bottles. Friendly service and a view to the Manukau across the road. On the downside, serviettes with the meal would have been good and maybe a real restroom?

I would love to give the cafe 5 stars but Unfortunately they don't seem to have enough staff the weekend I was there.... Tables sticky and food under tables... Lots of flies and the wait for food was too long... Coffee was nice but they had run out of ice for iced coffee so it was just ice creamed coffee... Staff there were run off their feet... So felt stressed watching them trying to cope...😬
