Reviews of Cassia
G.
Wonderful service and served just the right level of spice and spiciness for me at least, a good variety of cocktails and beverages, great music and decor. I would rate this restaurant a reputable 4.6 stars. The draw back is that you can’t choose the level of spiciness you wanted and it’s relatively hot for kiwi’s standard; and the table is way too small for the tiny amount of food that we’ve ordered. Oh yes, there is no mobile coverage inside the restaurant, too.
L.
Food tasted good. Couldn't complain. Service needs some work (some staff need better training, not all). We went for a valentines day set menu ($180) and hoped the atmosphere would suit the occasion. That wasn't necessarily the case. The menu looked like a last minute print out without any thought.
J.
For years I had heard so many things about Cassia and never made it. Boy am I glad that changed as the lunch we had there was simply world class.
The flavors are so fresh and light which is not normal for Indian cuisine, everything we tried was a home run and we can’t wait to return soon.

Great take on Indian food in a fine dining style. The carrot dish they had on offer was truly amazing - to be praising of all things a carrot dish (and all the vege dishes actually) in particular on a review shows how good they are.
The service can be a bit slow, ordered a glass of wine and had to wait over ten minutes to get it. Also, first courses came flying out and then had to wait close to 40 minutes between the later courses. Lucky the food was so good I looked past that as best I could. The set menu also had nothing unique that wasn’t on the regular menu, and the cost was essentially the same so you’re better off ordering what you want in my opinion and going from there.
Despite those quirks I would not hesitate in returning!
K.
Great people, delicious food and great drinks selection. Wonderful friendly service. We were happy with everything. I definitely recommend stopping in here.

It's rare when a restaurant out performs high expectations but Cassia managed it with ease. And not just the food, but the services and even soundscape all worked in harmony to deliver a memorable experience.
We had a fixed menu on xmas eve which featured a mushroom dish which alone guarantees my return.
E.
Words honestly can’t describe how good this restaurant is. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the service, the FOOD. We had the journey menu where they brought out each course and each bite was divine. The range of flavours, textures and spices were all perfectly balanced. The staff were attentive, kind and went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we were looked after and had a fantastic experience. Could not recommend more.

Came here for my partner’s birthday dinner and it was such a beautiful experience! The food was delicious, got a bunch of small dishes to share and every single dish was exciting! Unfortunately we were too full to order dessert but they were able to organize a little birthday treat for the end of the meal. Looking forward to coming here again soon!

Service is when the staff don’t get flustered and are gracious in the way they handle a customer’s oversight, and Cassia rightly earns its 5 stars. I got the date of our dinner wrong but they accommodated us without fuss despite being busy on a Saturday evening. The food lived up to the high ratings. Beautifully spiced without going over the top. Thank you! Highly recommended.
N.
The food here is good, and we found the staff to be very attentive and prompt. We really enjoyed the Goan lamb chops and the dessert (chocolate, whiskey and ginger). Their cocktails are also great!
However, we found the music to be too loud, making it hard to have a conversation with the person across the table. Also, we ordered the journey menu which we found to have too much food. Unfortunately we were so full, we found it difficult to enjoy the last few courses of our meal.
I would suggest ordering directly from the menu so you can get the appropriate amount of food. The mains are very generous portions.

I've never written a review before, but just had to after our evening, we all can't stop talking about how good it was
Amazing food, service was top class, great atmosphere, couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Would highly recommend the Journey Menu.
We had a vegan diner in our party and their food was equally as good if not better, they really deliver.
Our server was really warm and friendly and the maitre D of the restaurant (forgot her name but she was German) was exceptional.
Thanks for the great meal!
S.
We got the take home Diwali menu and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend
S.
These lovely people went out of their way to make us a totally delicious, low FODMAP, gluten free meal (we'd emailed beforehand). The flavour combinations were subtle and interesting, the cocktails were absolutely on point and the service was lovely. I really appreciated the care and the ease of the whole experience.
J.
One of my favourite restaurants in Auckland, easily a top 10 for me. They really take Indian food to another level. The beef ribs 🤤
A.
Everything about this restaurant is impeccable, delicious food, efficient staff, amazing low alcohol cocktails, great ambiance, will highly recommend and will definitely go again! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
A.
Good place for date night with very good ambiance and service. Loved the egg plant dish. Cauliflower curry was little too spicy for my liking with strong cinnamon flavour could have been better. Overall wonderful experience.
K.
I love this place. They really look after you. Love that it’s halal so bestie can eat here too. We were well looked after. Beautiful meal. Those lamb chops are to die for. The malabar fish curry was perfect. Definitely try the laal mass croquettes. The cocktails are perfect accompaniment thank you for the beautiful touch of the chocolate mousse for the birthday girl. Loved it. Can’t wait to be back
C.
Absolutely outstanding! The best meal and dining experience I have had in a long long time. I can't speak highly enough of the food and service. We had the journey menu which blew our minds. Our waiter made the experience so enjoyable, we absolutely cannot wait to return! Thank you
R.
This was honestly one of the best meals of my life! Actually incredible. The service and atmosphere are great, but the food is other worldly. My advice if you haven’t been is to share a main and go hard sharing on the snacks and small meals - they’re pure voodoo!
M.
What an amazing experience from the beginning to the end 😀 the journey through India option is perfect, all you have to do is just enjoy delicious food without having to worry what to order - highly recommend this option but please go with empty belly. We had an amazing waitress too, she explained everything so well and was so friendly 😀
N.
Stunning take on Indian cuisine. Fresh, modern and bordering fine dining. The lamb chops are an absolute must to start with! Excellent atmosphere with great music and decor. Awesome buzz. Those with poor eye-sight may struggle to read the menu, though. Service was faultless throughout the evening. Highly enjoyed my dinner with Cassia.
E.
Fantastic indian food dining experience!
This is a must go place if you enjoy fine dining and to learn about new food cultures. Who would have guessed that a carrot can taste THAT good??
Great atmosphere (just a bit cramped as they fit in a lot of people in a small space) and vibe.
Would have loved it they asked us our “burn tolerance” up front and not assume that all customers can eat the same intensity hot food. (I would have enjoyed it much more if I could have savoured the tastes and not chuck 50% of the meals down with water)
We did the Cassia Journey menu- money spent well!
R.
I’ve been to Cassia a few times now and can firmly say this is my favourite of Sid’s restaurants. The vibe is relaxed and the food is on point! I’ve had the tasting menu a couple of times and haven’t been disappointed yet. I’m a meat lover but would challenge anyone to try the cauliflower and not be amazed, so good!!
The service is always friendly and the cocktails are great!
M.
Had Christmas dinner last night , the journey menu was all good & tasty ,they accommodate all our dietary needs , staff were nice & friendly, the only let down was the desert! The plate looked fancy with the liquid nitrogen..but lacked coherent & taste plus it wasn't actually a desert !I would have rated 5 stars otherwise
B.
Great Indian food with a modern twist. Fresh dazzling and tantalizing to your taste buds. Alcohol is expensive a $20 Zinfandel was more than 80 for a bottle a bit rich so I stuck with one beer. It was a bit noisy for the cost of this elegant meal. Otherwise I would give 5 star.
J.
Amazing food and service! Definitely going back!
G.
A must if you plan to visit Auckland. The roasted carrot and lamb was incredible. Curry is somewhat spicy but exceptional.
N.
Easily 5 stars for food. Easily 5 stars for accommodating our party of 3 when we only booked 2. Easily 5 stars for ambiance and super chill vibe. However, while the service is very attentive and very pleasant, the pace of the tasting was about 45 minutes too long. It might sound like whinging, but 20 minutes between finishing a course and then getting the next course is a bit long -although it certainly kept us hungry, which is good for a tasting menu. I'd 100% return and recommend this place to a friend, I'd just also make sure there's sufficient time.
E.
We had dinner on Thursday night and it was very happy and delicious experience. Service was very good and food was absolutely amazing. Cassia just changed my perspective on Indian cuisine. Every single dish was gorgeously plated and not to mention how taste these dishes were. So thankful to all staffs for having us great time on my husband’s birthday :D
J.
Indian food is hard to reinvent - this restaurant is amazing. We chose to go through the journey menu - this is a fixed price option. To be honest it is worth every cent. Delicious food served by knowledgeable staff in a delightful way. I’m really grateful to support our local businesses and Cassia is doing their best to support local communities. DELICIOUS.
K.
The food, service and atmosphere are impeccable. Chef Sid and all the staff were friendly. Would highly recommend visiting this place.
R.
Each dish is a painting on it's own.. food is full of flavor that you cannot ignore. The restaurant is the best in NZ and there are several reasons.. quality, quantity, presentation and above all the service. Completely impressed.. would love to go there again.
A.
Exquisite dining in a fun and sophisticated environment. Great service. Good for groups, drinks, date night out, all of it!
J.
Had the pleasure of dining in the private room tonight. Our German hostess Jasmine (apologies if I got your name wrong) was one of the best hosts I have experienced in Auckland. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the restaurant was second to none.
The set menu was plentiful and beautiful as one would expect from a restaurant run by Sid.
If you get along to Cassia, I hope you get the incredible Jasmine as your host. She will make your night! Thank you thank you!
B.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, flawless service. Had a lovely meal with the set menu. Bravo!
M.
Edit. Initially gave this place 5 stars for their a la carte menu a year ago. Tried the Tasting Menu yesterday but was supremely let down. Kerala Beef was extremely sweet to the point another diner said it was like eating peanut butter. The beef was tough as boots and dried up. Didn't even finish my dish; that was how bad it was. Major fail. Dessert was again one dimensional sweet and not impressive at all. Tandoori fish was nothing special. Eggplant was off balance and a wee bit too tart. The lamb chops was the only good one. Overall, hugely disappointing. Would I go again? Yes but only for the ala carte menu. Would never go near the Tasting one again. Definitely not up to any degustation out there in the Auckland scene. Pity....
Original review: If you don't count the drinks, the food value is very fair in terms of taste, presentation and portion. Service was impeccable. Our food came to only $150 for 4 and even then, we had to overeat a bit as the portions were very generous. Drinks were the killer at another $40+. That said, my kids loved the food and they normally moan when the adults want to eat Indian food (as they sometimes find the adult palette too spicy). Hubby and I were impressed with the food but can't honestly say it is the best Indian food we've ever eaten as that accolade belongs to the fabulous Indian food found in Malaysia. But for Kiwi standards, this is worth it. Will come again.
D.
An absolutely amazing Indian Fusion Fine Dining Experience. Went there for my grad celebration and they made my day even more special by surprising me with a complementary dessert 🥰👩🎓
i.
Extraordinary Indian fusion, great food and friendly honest staff~~ 4 of us decided to do la carte rather than going easy with the tasting menu, cos we really want to try different foods... Ordered 2 nibbles, 4 starters, 2 mains, 2 sides, which was recomemded by the waitress. Plenty of food. All 4 of us really liked the dishes. My fav was the Beef short ribs stir fry, so tender!!!
D.
Visited this place on the 16th December. Service was excellent and dish was explained in detailed at the table. The flaovour profile of the food is mind blowing.very fair pricing. Highly recomended. Great work Cassis team and looking forward to the next visit.
F.
Interesting Indian fusion food to try. Since the restaurant is quite popular, please phone or go to their website to book a table in advance. Nice decoration and service. Might not recommend if you like quite place or have small children. (Weak signal if you use Sparks)
F.
The setting and decor is great. The entrées are on point with real fusion flavours and stood out to us. We ordered most to try a bit of everything. The mains were good, however were nothing special. We were hoping to experience something different or more bold at that price point.
A.
Wonderful service and served just the right level of spice and spiciness for me at least, a good variety of cocktails and beverages, great music and decor.
S.
This place is special. The staff and service I was brilliant. This restaurant deserves its two hats... every part of each dish was a spectacular display of how food can taste when the care and time is taken to pair and prepare ingredients.
K.
Extraordinary modern Indian. We ordered quite a lot, especially after reading some of the comments claiming that dishes were a bit on the small side, though in reality at least the mains are huge. Food was accurately spicy and with nice spins on authentic Indian cuisine. Paneer stir fry, lamb kebabs and the chicken tikka slider were really good.
B.
I have wanted to stop by for quite a while so I probably hyped it up a lot in my mind. The restaurant was quite comfortable and not overly loud so it was easy to hold a conversation. The lights were dimmed but sufficient so you could see the food and company. The service was nice and friendly and the menu was interesting. The food was a bit of a hit and miss for me though.
I tried the Achari fire cocktail and it is exactly as described as it was spicy, but it tasted like a chili sauce. I was expecting more of a mango flavour but the flavours were quite interesting with the spice. The heat mellowed at the end of the night when the ice melted.
Most of the food was really nice, particularly the duck and the carrot, both being absolutely stunning. The carrot was an afterthought to get some veggies but was one of the better dishes of the night. I was expecting a bit more pronounced spice flavour in the dishes though, but it was still nice. The tandoori fish had a nice smokiness to it which I liked. The lamb kebab was also quite nice and a little spicier than the others.
I was excited for the crayfish cone but it tasted like cream cheese and I was trying to find the texture of the crayfish which I couldn't find. I'm guessing that the crayfish was made into a mousse which the cone was filled with. The biggest disappointment for me was the pork belly. The pork itself was cooked nicely but the prawn balchao that came with it was on the edge of too salty for me. It was unpleasant to eat by itself and we weren't sure if it would be possible to get more rice as it wasn't on the menu.
It is definitely a nice place for dinner and I would come back to try the other items because most of the dishes were tasty.
D.
Cassia is one of my absolute favourite places. But you have to rate a restaurant highly of they are able to substitute ingredients for dietary requirements and they still taste incredible
D.
Amazing food & amazing service! Every mouthful was delicious - the flavours are amazing! Best & friendliest service I've experienced in NZ.
V.
This place is good. In fact, really good. But its waaay too expensive. And you need to wait for a month or so to get a table here. That's why i have taken a couple of stars off. Coz for me the best restraunts are easily accessible and not too heavy on your wallet.
Went here last week and wasnt dissapointed with the food. Had Paani Puri for starters along with Potato and Paneer Kulcha. Yumm. Highly recommend that you try Paani Puri.
For the mains, I went for a Vegetarian dish (Smoked Paneer) and it was on the spot. Paneer (or Cottage Cheese) was so soft that it melted in the Spinach. Had it with Naan which was really well made as well.
My partner tried Tandoori Chicken. It was different but tasted like it was catered to a common palate.
The service was spot on as well. Never felt rushed and polite as. They have silver service it will show.
Keep the good work going Cassia.
S.
We rocked up on a random tuesday without a booking and were quickly found a nice table.
We had the Cassia Jouney Menu (Set Menu) and were REALLY well fed.
The Roasted carrot, dry korma, and macadamia was LIT. Didn't realise carrots could taste so good.
Only thing to call out is most of the tables are pretty close together, so if you're a covid-cautious couple, ask for a high table at the back.
p.
Everything was just PERFECT. Jelx( i don’t know the right spelling)😂 but the service he gave was top notch. Loved it
Food🤤
Drinks 🍺
Highly recommended
H.
Excellent staff food and venue. We had duck and beef. Perfect choice and meal size for two. Sorry the pics don't show how lovely the presentation of the food looked.
R.
Great ambiance and my friend got a wee surprise from the kitchen for her birthday!
Went back here for my colleague's birthday dinner and we had a lovely experience. We were looked after by staff and the food was tasty. We had: pani puri, celeriac tart, tandoori fish, stir-fry potato & cauliflower, garlic naan.
V.
It's cool that it's fusion Indian, just found the spices were not balanced. It's refreshing to have unusual ingredients with an Indian twist. Service was great. Drinks were good.
M.
We got one of the home takeaways options and it was amazing! Good level of spicy and so flavourful. Would recommend and looking to go back again soon
S.
Amazing ambience, food and world class service - you can’t ask for more!
W.
Would definitely recommend this place, best Indian restaurant i have been to in Auckland. Food, service and drinks was fantastic, one of my favourites.
K.
Five stars for food, service and atmosphere... I'm not surprised it's always fully booked.
P.
Wow. Just outstanding. Seriously one of the best meals of my life. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious
S.
Visited for my birthday dinner. Wow, this place is great. Top service, great atmosphere, and of course, delicious food.
s.
Liked the food from "start small" menu. Other dishes were as per expectations.
A.
Taste sensation, atmosphere buzzing and the service excellent.
H.
Absolutely stunning meal with great attention to detail and manages food intolerances very very well
L.
Had one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had with the wife. First of all, great staff and service, they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive at the restaurant. We started our meal with the Tuna and Lamb entrances and they were just amazing, full of flavours, the Lamb was cooked just right and Tuna was so soft it melted in your mouth. As the main we had the Tandoori Chicken and the Pork Belly. Again amazing rich flavours and good sized portions. Our mains came with rice but we also ordered the Naan, very filling. We also had the cherry + chocolate + honeycomb dessert that ended our delicious dinner on a high note. Will definitely come back more. Strongly recommend for dates or group/family dinners.
B.
Easily one of the best restaurants in Auckland. Service is amazing, food is so delicious and the flavours are out of control. They were so helpful with dietary requirements and I’m already counting down until I can go back.
S.
Very good ambiance. Food was tasty and a bit different compared to traditional Indian restaurants. Worth the visit. Presentation of food is commendable. Menu is very simple and easy to understand. Business lunch is a very good value for the money.
A.
Amazing take on Indian cuisine. We over-ordered but the food and service was amazing. Reservations required.
B.
Went on a Thursday night around 7:30. Couldn't fault the food at all, tasted delicious. Service was kinda slow, even with the tasting menu in which all dishes are pre-planned, still took 2 hours for all dishes to be served. I think they had lots of new/fresh staff.
9.
Amazing! First-time coming, Perfect Fish and some other sorry I don't know how to say these. My damn English level..All the food are wonderful!
S.
I went to this uber chic restaurant on d ocassion of my wife's bday. Even though I went on a weekday, I still managed to get a booking at 9pm after making an online reservation 2 weeks before. So try to book it 3 weeks in advance if u want the reservation for d right time
The ambience is super cool n cosy. The music is not too loud and its very much audible and at the same time allowing u to talk with ur partner at normal decibel levels 😊
Now coming to food and drinks. Since my vegetarian, the food on d table was all vegetarian.
So we started with drinks, my wife ordered a Long Island Iced Tea (they made one even though they didnt have it in the menu) and I ordered the Kingfisher tap beer. They tasted as they shud b so no spl comments on that.
Food :
Entree's : Layered Paratha 5/5
Spl mention of the chutney. It was awesum
To Start : Caramelized Kumara and Carrot 4/5
Super yum but too little qty for d price
To follow : Smoked Paneer & parsnip, chettinad sauce 5/5
It was delicious as hell. The paneer (cottage cheese) was super soft with right amnt of spices along with bowl of rice
Sides : Garlic Naan 5/5
1 naan was sufficient for 2 ppl and it was quite gud. It melted in my mouth. The way naan shud b
By now we were completely full to the throat and had no further capacity to order the deserts.
As far as visiting it again, I might go back with my frenz as I am yet to explore the chicken dishes as it luked quite tempting on the tables of others. But the menu is quite limited and its expensive !! 😜
E.
Amazing, innovative food and great service - easy to see why it's been voted Auckland's best restaurant. We can't wait to be back to try more from the menu
C.
Based on modern Indian cuisine, the food is presented and tastes very good. Service is also very good
S.
Nice place. They make the best lamb rack and tikka. Must try their special dessert with apple and elderflower.
J.
Absolutely Stunning.
The customer service and knowledge of the whole menu from all the wait staff is awesome, the food is even better. Never have you seen Indian food done with such an elegant flair. Every dish is perfectly crafted to be balanced and completely blow your mind.
Would definitely recommend trying the Journey Menu if it is your first time, hope you're hungry😍
M.
An interesting menu that is divided into nibbles, starters, mains and sides. We ordered 2x nibbles, one starter and 2 mains. My favourite dish is the caramelized pumpkin, goat cheese, tamarind starter. The flavour combination is really interesting - smoky, sweet, tangy. The mains, Rajasthani beef ribs and Caramelised duck are quite substantial and are served with rice with lots of sauce, which is perfect for the naan bread.
T.
Wonderful place for a great night out with friends. Great menu; terrific flavours.
S.
Great twist on indian food. Awesome flavour, dragon breath cocktail was also great. And service is always very friendly.
a.
Best food and best staff - what a wonderful place. We did the journey menu. Highly recommend!! Every dish was excellent. Also, the drinks!! Yummmmm
M.
Definitely the best modern Indian restaurant I've ever tried. Exquisite food, great service, nice location.
A.
Excellent delicious tasty food with excellent flavours and spice. Good beers and wines to match. Staff are helpful and informative. You need to book as it gets super busy. Pricey but worth it. Market fish and lamb chops were my favorite, eggplant was great too.
M.
One time experience was enough. Booked this restaurant for 5 adults and a baby. However despite 1 week advance booking the table wasn’t ready when we arrived there and was given a table with very tight space which made it difficult with the baby. We asked to give us a bigger table but was told that bigger tables were booked for another larger group. However we were there for almost 2 hours and that table was still idle. So we asked to add more tables so theres more space to sit comfortably. However the attitude of the manager wasn’t too nice. Overall food was really good.
B.
Incredible indian food, cool location. Definitely recommend.
K.
I had amazing customer service when trying to book a table for 4 on a Thurs night so was looking forward to a promising meal.
All our cocktails tasted of spice though only x1 had stated spice in the ingredients list.
For starters we ordered the Waygu Croquettes and Crayfish Beetroot Cones. The waygu was tasty but sadly there was no taste/flavour/texture of crayfish or beetroot in our second dish. We mentioned this to the waitress who said she would give the chef our feedback. 😒
For the small plates we had the Carrots, Tandoori Fish and Beef. With much sadness i have to say the best dish here was the carrots 🥕 . The fish was overcooked and while the beef itself was nice, the spinach sauce it was served in was lackluster.
Then we had the big plates of their signature lamb shik kebabs, caramelized duck and pork belly. Lamb was wonderful, sadly the duck and pork was such a clash of flavors within each dish that it left me confused.
The garlic Naan and rice as sides were good.
The waitress, while polite, was cold and standoffish.
We didn't bother with dessert.
R.
Literally the best Indian dining experience I have ever had. We came with no reservation, but the host kindly seated us at the bar. From there, our party of four embarked on Cassia's "Journey Through India" menu.
The pacing started off slow, then just as I was truly hungry, we received an onslaught of dishes, including their lamb kebab. I can see why they call it their signature dish.
Everything was delicious, but my personal favorite was the mushrooms early on. Such a texture that you can chew them and enjoy the taste for awhile.
L.
Finally managed a reservation at this place after trying a number of times. It’s quite small, so I can see why it’s hard to get in. Very cool, dungeon-like dining room with atmospheric round light fittings. Very good, attentive service. There were a LOT of staff for the small restaurant and they did a great job. The food was delicious. We had tandoori fish and lamb chops to start - lamb chops were the winners. And then duck and tandoori chicken as mains. The reason I have only given 4 and not 5 stars is that, while the food was excellent, it didn’t blow me away. It’s essentially a very expensive version of your local Indian restaurant. $200 for 2, including 2 drinks each. No dessert.
G.
What a place to spend a perfect evening...!!!! Pleasant experience from booking the table to paying the bill...!!! Awesome staff...!!! Awesome Food...Awesome Service...!!! Value for Money...!!!
If you can add more Vegetarian or Vegan food options, then it will be beneficial to non-meat eaters.
C.
This was my first visit since cassia went pure Indian rather than Indian fusion. The food was good but not good enough to get five stars. Meals came out promptly but getting a waiter's attention took a while. We were not asked how spicy and food was a little hotter than my personal preference.
Overall a bunch of little faults in an otherwise excellent meal.
S.
Awesome service, friendly staff and delicious, flavourful food 👏👏.., highly recommended
T.
Different Indian to the normal English one but absolutely outstanding. Great service and food
T.
First time I have eaten here and absolutely loved it. Great service and amazing food.
We did the “Journey thorough India” menu which was incredible. Thoroughly recommend dining here.
s.
Went for a company dinner, was an awesome service by the staff and food was great.
S.
Loved the food. Quality and modern Indian cuisine
T.
I tried their Cassia at home menu and I have to say it's the best Indian food I had during my last 4 years here in New Zealand.
The combination of flavours, textures and spices is well balanced.
Would definitely recommend Cassia to anyone who loves Indian food.
R.
Good food and a great atmosphere. The mains are overpriced but the entrees are amazing and the atmosphere is very special. Great venue for a special night out.
S.
Lamp was terrible felt like cheap.
Chicken was nice but still not sure how it’s Auckland best restaurant
L.
Amazing food, amazing service! I highly recommend this place 10/10
Food was beautiful and the waiter was so helpful, even recommended me a wine which was perfect with the meal. There are no bad things about my experience at Amano. I can’t wait to go back.
A.
This was outstanding food. I’ve been here a number of times, over the years, but not for awhile and they have only got better. The flavour combinations were a joy. The service was excellent. Everything combined to give us a dining experience to savour for a long time. We ordered the set menu which took away the difficulty of a large group ordering. If there is a criticism it is the acoustics, it can be difficult to hear others at the table. But nothing can dampen the experience of being served food with flavours & textures perfectly combined. Hats off to the chef and the team. Bravo to the owners. Thank you.
G.
I came to Cassia for my birthday and we did the set Dinner menu for 13 people. Such an amazing experience, from the hosting, our private room and the food was out of this world, such a great evening. I would definitely recommend Cassia and can't wait to return to do the tasting menu. Thanks Cassia for a great birthday night 💖
L.
Not having booked we had a short wait for a seat at the "food bar", which we thoroughly enjoyed as we not only had great interaction with the serving staff we could watch the slick operation of the kitchen. We chose the degustation menu with matching wines and each course was well presented and explained as were the wines. The food was exceptional with each course a real flavoursome taste sensation. Overall the wines added to the food with small, personal preference just shading a perfect match. Thoroughly enjoyable, will certainly revisit.
A.
One of the best place for dining with a private room. They have a professional chef for cooking delicious food.
Thank you, Cassia for your incredible service!

Have never been a fan of Indian until I tried Cassia. I remember ordering the business lunch the first week it opened and boy, was I a goner. Have been back 3 times since, and it never fails to impress. I highly recommend the Tandoori chicken, the lamb dishes and the duck. Always explosive refined flavours that fill the tummy and the soul.
The portions are quite generous and the cocktails are well thought out. Price is pretty reasonable for the quality!
I adore this place and so will you.
S.
Wonderful meal in great surroundings. Staff friendly attentive and helpful. We had a meal prior to concert and they didn't rush us but also made sure we weren't late. Food top class very tasty. Cocktails wonderful. Atmosphere lovely. Sat up on bar area so staff spoke to us and was great to watch chefs. Highly recommended. Maybe think of booking if you can.

Good indian fusion food.fantastic service.place for food lovers
R.
Our dinning experience at Casia was very good. Must appreciate and acknowledge Jels [who minded our table] was excellent. Thank you Jels for making us comfortable.
The food was good. It would have been good to know which part of India the menu represented. May I please request you to replace the metal crinkly chairs that are place at the corner tables. The scratching noise was uncomfortable.
K.
From the get go this place was a perfect find. The food was great and so too the service. But don't believe the waiters when they say it's not spicy because its just not true. Spicy enough to have you want to come back for more 🤯
S.
Beautiful menu and great service.
G.
Had a great meal at Cassia, really great service and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend coming back again, exceptional!
L.
We turned up and it was booked out but we were offered a seat at the bar in front of the kitchen. It was my best dining experience in memory. This place runs like a finely tuned machine. Watching the chefs, bar staff, wait staff do their thing from the higher seats at the bar was a rare treat. The food was incredible. The cocktails we're fantastic. It was great to have my expectations exceeded in every way.
J.
Reliably good food, striking a balance between a kiwi pallet and authentic indian. A great place to eat together, with modern music in the air and quick and attentive service.
Not to be confused with Sid's finer cuisine restaurants, this place is that mid-high end restaurant that isn't above charging you $10 for sparkling water.
P.
Awesome atmosphere, awesome starters and awesome desert.
However the mains were below expectations considering the caliber of restaurant.
Duck was cooked perfectly but the sauce that was with it was overly sour and totally overpowered the dish.
Beef short rib had a good amount of heat on it but it was just a curry.. wasn't anything special.
Lamb chops was outstanding
Tandoori chicken was perfect
Scallops, scampi dish was great.
Fish starters was really good.
TLDR: Great starters , great deserts. main dishes fell short.
B.
Nice food, interesting flavors. A little loud in the restaurant, can barely talk to the person next to you with screaming. Desert was more salty than sweet.
Well presented. Overall would recommend to try for something a little different.
N.
Probably a bit overdue as we tried out Cassia well over a year ago, all I can say is we enjoyed all our small meals, my favourite would have to be the "Pani Puri" 10/10 and the service was great. Thanks so much
A.
One of the best restaurant we visited. My first date was in Cassia and we did our legal wedding there as well. This restaurant always gives us as a home feeling they take care for you while you are there guest. Me and my wife we always prefer to go there for any occasion because they celebrate with you.
Food quality I don't think anyone need explanation there food is next level and I always tell my friends and family members to visit.
They got only one issue closing on Sunday and Monday I wish they are open 24*7 so we can go there because we never get bored with their dishes and taste. Our life started at Cassia and we will always celebrate our anniversary there :)
G.
Exquisite and affordable when you're looking for a date night tasting menu + wine pairing that doesn't hit above $200 each. Loved the plating and indian-fusion tastes; we were full by course 3 and also got 2 additions compliments of the chef. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly when discussion the wines. We both liked the lighting and the open kitchen. The only issue with this spot is that with all of the concrete or brick, none of the sound gets absorbed so the second that the restaurant is half booked, all of the talking gets very noisy. You'll need reservations by the way.
P.
The restaurant has an industrial look but is quite comfortable. The wait staff rotate around the tables filling drinks, taking orders and checking on tables. It provides quite a high service level using this method. The menu has a great selection of nibbles, starters, sides, entrees and desserts. We dabbled in a bit from each course. The potato and paneer fritters were a flavor packed bite. You will want a few of them but there is so much more to try. We ordered the snapper which came in a curry sauce, the short ribs and the tandoori chicken. The amazing flavors and sheer depth of flavors was so intense and danced on your palate. The dishes are a bit spicy but when followed by the garlic naan; it was a perfect way to tame the heat.
M.
Amazing flavour, great vegetarian selection, attentive and knowledgeable staff and an attractive setting. Could have done without the plastic straws and the table was slightly too small for the amount of dishes but a really lovely way to spend our third anniversary.
M.
Table for six -three older couples. Not a place to dine if you want to have conversation. Dark is acceptable but omg the noise !
Food was varied, tasty and generous until dessert. For all savoury servings there were three servings of each tasting bowl. Dessert was one bowl of each of three desserts. Not generous or enough!
We had been advised that our 7.30pm booking was for two hours at which time we were to leave as Cassia was confident of a pressing need for tables at 9.30pm. We felt hastened through our meal. We only ordered a glass of wine after a gorgeous tanqueray and grapefruit cocktail in view of the time limit. We moved on to Britomart for coffee and conversation. Quite a lot of Lost revenue for Cassia especially as there were empty tables and no 9.30pm queue for whom we had scarpered!
V.
We had a stunning meal here and plan to return. We had waited a long time to visit and it didn't let us down. Indian inspired but very modern in approach. Splendid cocktails made by a scrupulous barman, worth coming down just for the drinks! We had the tasting menu and every course outdid the previous. The 2 amuse bouche were had were so good we thought they were courses. I can't wait to return!
S.
We dined here in December 2017, I cant believe it has taken me this long to review.
The whole experience was a pleasant explosion of the senses. From the front desk service to the delivery service, every was finely tuned to deliver you the best effort of a team. Congratulations to the owner.
The food left you asking questions of your taste buds. The ambiance was great considering you are in a basement with no windows and the decor reflected the class of the owners style and cuisine.
Now if Indian Cusine is not your favorite I must encourage you to try Cassia. I have dined on Indian food in many countries (including India) be it fine dining or market dishes. This was one of my top 3
Highly recommended for those whom enjoy fine dining experiences.
We were a group of 4 we had 6 dishes to share and 2.5 rounds of cocktails. We left with full bellies and a staggered step all for less than $350 NZD.
Personal highlight: Try the Quail!
Please like my review if you found it helpful. Thanks

I came into Cassia as a solo diner and I can not be more impressed despite the lack of company. As a nibble i started off with the Oyster pakora with the word-of-mouth telling me how good it was and it certainly lived up to its expectation. Generally i stay away from oysters but this made them super approachable. I ordered the carrot and the lamb chops as my starter and it was enough said. Love the brown butter and the emulsion on the carrots (and lets not forget about the carrots!) and the chops where out of this world. Finally I had the potato and cauliflower as my main (that comes with a side of rice) and wow. Never thought I'd order a vegetarian dish as my main but again never let my standard down from the nibble. For my dessert I ordered the lychee desert and obviously nothing can go wrong with lychee and surely enough was beautiful! The staff was amazing. Friendly welcome from Craig as I entered the restaurant. Lovely bar tender Nick served my drink with Alex serving my food. Such a small but harmonious trio who keep me in interest throughout my dining experience really made the world of a difference. Dont be shy to solo dine in Cassia as it is very comforting and approachable.
D.
This was a ridiculously good meal. One of the better ones I've had in Auckland.
Atmosphere was stellar. It's a giant, poured concrete basement. Active, hustly bustly, vibey.
Service was stellar. There was always someone available, but never felt suffocated.
Food was outstanding. Especially the wagyu beef croquettes. I would eat those like popcorn. Otherwise, the lamb chops are a must have and I tended to like the carrots because they were the spiciest thing we ate, but my partner liked that less. We had the chicken curry as a main, which was amazing but the full plate is quite rich!
All in all, we'd go back again in a heart beat.
J.
This place is amazing. Service was top class. We picked the "Cassia Journey Menu's was more than enough food and just kept coming. Highly recommend.
M.
Best dining experience I have had in a very long time. Food is exceptional, staff are very attentive and the pricing is on point. I will definitely be coming back again! Sid has created something very special with Cassia, he should be very proud!
A.
The food and the atmosphere is amazing here. But the night was made by the awesome service. I have a nut allergy and the waitress was so happy to accomodate me. The chefs made me versions each course on the degustation without nuts.
They didn't act like it was a problem (which I'm sure it actually was).
We had such a good time and would recommend to anyone!
C.
Entree's were good, especially the Lamb Chops which were delicious. Mains were nice but lacked balance.
B.
I had the most exquisite meal here post first lockdown. The dishes were so complimentary with one another and our waiter recommended everything! I couldn’t recommend Cassia enough!
S.
The best India food there ever is in Auckland. Period. The flavours are so good and food looks nothing like traditional Indian dishes. This is truly modern Indian. The service is friendly and staff is so helpful. This is one fine dine restaurant that you should not miss.
M.
What a culinary experience! They took humble Indian cuisine to a whole new level! It exceeds everything that you would expect, it's refined, elegant, inventive and so delicious. Love it.
I.
Had a lunch there with my SO. For mains I had chicken and my gf had vegetarian paneer. Both of the dishes were great if a bit on a spicy hot side. We shared a couple of starters and they were interesting and not too filling. Service and atmosphere were amazing. We asked for only tap water to drink and throughout the afternion our glasses were never empty. We spent quite a bit of time there conversating with the girl at the next table and the music was never intrusive. It's worth mentioning that business lunch combo is great price for what you get.
D.
The food is to die for, I loved this place. Situated below street level this restaurant has a great atmosphere. Lovely staff, knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommended.
S.
Interesting food preparation styles and amazing western + Indian fusion menu. Very Very expensive but Worth visiting. Chicken is not Halal (info for Muslims)
A.
If you are willing to splash a little cash and all in for spicy food, this place is a little delight. A well crafted a la carte menue with traditional Indian dishes twisted up to tangle Aucklander taste buds. The cocktails are a treat and the food is also pretty darn good, with a wide choice of food, it makes it probably one of the leaders in high end Indian cuisine for Auckland. I appreciate the modern touch, but a slightly more authentic experience would push the 5* for me.
R.
One of my absolute favorite places to dine in Auckland. Food is amazing. Service is exceptional. Always a good night out.
P.
Wasn't blown away as much as I expected to be. Was some hiccups during our dining experience. Items were deducted off our bill to rectify.
A.
Take a uber to be dropped at the door. Go for the small plates and starters. Curry mains are good but expensive. Recommended to make bookings. Avoid weekends to get more attention.
L.
The experience here was completely unexpected and so different from any other dining experience we've had. The Journey was delightful and every tasting and story that went along with it was spectacular. We will be back.
A.
Indian fusion? Indian fine dining? It's hard to pin down. All I can say is : Yum! Some of the dishes were quite spicy, but that added to it, as far as we were concerned. Nice dining room and great staff.
Not super easy to find. Use maps and you'll be fine.
M.
What a amazing place Cassia is. From start to finish couldn't fault, every dish stood out with flavour and finesse. We ordered a selection of small bites to begin Pani puri potato chickpea mint, Wagyu Beef laal maas croquette, Te Matuku oyster pakora, Spicy lamb kulcha, mustard, coconut, all were stand outs and unique in flavour and presentation. Mains we went off the to share options and settled on Snapper, mustard seeds, kerela sauce, and Caramelised duck, chettinad sauce, onion, ginger once again both outstanding in there own ways pack with spice and flavour, all this and a bottle of Kumeu Chardonnay coupled with stand out service ensured a great night highly recommend and will be back sooner than later.
J.
Best meal I've had in Auckland. Not a cheap restaurant but the Tasting Menu is amazing value for money compared to other fine dining establishments and the food is like nothing I had ever had before. Just perfect.
E.
A must-visit when in Auckland! The food is amazing here and the staff provide excellent service. I went with my partner for a date night, my one disappointment was how loud it was - it was hard to enjoy a nice experience together as we couldn't hear each other talking. It's not a place I'd describe as romantic, would recommend for groups or for fun occasions.
V.
Amazing evening, very good food, different to a typical Indian restaurant. Prices very reasonable and very nice atmosphere. No doubt, highly recommended. I had probably too high expectations though and this is why I can’t give the 5 stars!
N.
An excellent place for the very special occasions. A bit on the expensive side but worth every cent. Friendly staff, nice decor and of course superb food. Indian with a twist is the best I can describe the cuisine. The tandoori fish is a must.
C.
Truly enjoyed lunch, prompt and easy service. The food is delicious, great choices of flavors and textures, well balanced. Good quality ingredients shining through proper preparation. Well done.
L.
Cool spot with a great cocktail list and a selection of great dishes. Sit are the bar for great company, a look into the kitchen and a more intimate experience. Highly suggest the raw scallop dish.
V.
If I wouldn't have gone with my son I would have been lost as what to order 😄. Well, my son ordered three appetisers and three mains and a non-alcoholic Cola drink for me .
Food was great and was very delicious and very distinct in taste. I loved the eggplant dip with lachcha parantha - a layered bread and paneer (Indian cottage cheese) the most.
The staff was amazing, smiling and very friendly. You should listen to staff when they say, "that should be enough". For three of us food was a lot.
All I can say, it was the last day of my son in Auckland and Sid and his team made a very memorable experience for us. Highly recommended place. I shall be going there soon 😊!
S.
Prefer 1947... though you are in the top 50 and 1947 is not... the ambiance at 1947 and the food is great... I will come in again to taste your food just to confirm
M.
Impressive dishes,but very salty...
T.
One of my favourite spots in the CBD. My advice: order all the starters to share, then all the desserts (2 people). Great for lunch or dinner, friendly staff, nice decor, incredible food! Good business lunch menu. Great gin menu too.
조.
Not bad. We ordered nann, lamb, fish curry, tandoori chicken and pineapple/coriander dessert for about $70~$80pp. Entre and dessert were good but mains were a little disappointing. The service and everything else was great.
T.
I would say simply amazing and the best modern indian cuisine, I love the beef croquette everytime I go I have them for sure and so the oyster pakodas, the staff are also really nice.
C.
Best food and service had in Auckland.
Not one to miss, from front of house to the Nepal bartender fantastic.
We will be back
F.
The flavor ❤️ makes you to revisit again!
A.
Amazing ambience. Their Clam curry starter, lamb kebab mains are recommended. Staff know what they serve and explain the dish. Food is delicious here. Cheers
B.
Excellent, upscale Indian food. Creative menu with enough variety to continue to surprise throughout the meal. Standout dishes were: carrots, lamb, smoked paneer.
S.
Amazing food and drinks. Best food I ate in New Zealand with no competition. Better than the James Beard Indian restaurants I have eaten at. Reminded me of some the Michelin Star restaurants I have dined at.
J.
Abolsutely superb. One of the very best meals I've had in Auckland. Service impeccable, food consistently wowed us, lovely presentation and room. Interesting drinks list (lots of Gin!). WIll definitely be visiting again.
R.
We had the Cassia journey with drinks pairing. Service and food were faultless, will definitely recommend and return.
p.
Fantastic all around. the oysters were one of the best things i've ever eaten ... and i don't even really like oysters!
J.
Dined in the private room and the service was exceptional. The wine selection, food and atmosphere absolutely amazing. Highly recommend if you're looking for an amazing restaurant while in Auckland
T.
Food, service and atmosphere was amazing…
P.
Lovely food and service. Great recommendations on the food and some complex and tasty non alcoholic cocktails. We all had tons of fun and would definitely comeback. Thank you very much Cassia staff.
S.
Love it. Best food in Auckland at the moment. Great environment and knowledgeable, unpretentious staff. Tandoori fish, lamb chops and the pork vindaloo were highlights. Have and will continue to recommend.
M.
Everyone already knows it is amazing. So here we go another 5 star review. Liked it so much the first time I went back a week later. You really cant go wrong with any of the dishes, it is that good.
S.
Delicious Indian fusion cuisine. Second visit here. Had a "street food" lunch styled by Sid's head chef from each of his restaurants as part of the Restaurant Month. Almost a degustation of sorts - 10 dishes of street food fusion from various parts of India. Stand outs were the British Raj goat curry and Dum Aloo (beautiful smoky flavours, just couldn't stop going back for more) plus the play on a samosa done as a pinwheel. Overall a beautiful long lunch and another memorable visit.
K.
Yummy modern Indian so not your typical. Had a set menu and it was all delicious! The dessert was next level and I could have happily had three courses of that 😋
M.
Favourite restaurant in Auckland! Always full of amazing flavours. The alleyway access and basement location gives it an underground feel. No internet access so you can enjoy a full dining experience with no distractions. Access the Jefferson through the back way through the bathroom for a whiskey afterwards. Ideal for date night or with friends.
G.
Very good reason why this place is highly rated. Our first visit and certainly won't be our last special shout to our waiter Dillon. First class service to go with excellent food.
S.
First time back in about 4 years, and it didn't dissapointing. Really good options for vegans. Started with Pani Puri and finished with a great pineapple desert with wonderful flavours in between.
Will be back sooner!
B.
Best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to honestly. I normally don’t eat Indian dishes, but I really really really loved everything I’ve had here. I’m shocked. So good. Wow.
L.
I love the food and drinks here so much. The vindaloo pork is absolutely delicious, and the drink selection is amazing. The ambience is also perfect for date night. Would highly recommend this place.
J.
Have been here a few times and the food still blows my mind. One of my favorite restaurants in Auckland and the cocktails and service is 100%!! Highly recommend this place.
A.
Got the tasting menu and everything was perfect until the dessert. I am a dessert person and was extremely disappointed when the Pineapple, pistachio, coriander dessert was just a scoop of sorbet, some cream and chunks of pineapple.
H.
The male wait staff member on the 7th of April did not really care about us so we left without having desert. He gave us a drinks menu and did not come back. Lovely food though.
M.
Fantastic. Modern takes on curries done with true feeling for real Indian cuisine. From the artisan rough rice to the sauces, these guys have thought everything though. Totally unpretentious staff, with kiwiana style.
D.
Absolutely stunning food and service was top notch. Would definitely recommend it. Probably not ideal for kids or toddlers, but amazing spot for date night or celebrations.
B.
The most adventurous Indian food you can find in Auckland BUT don't expect table conversation. The acoustics make it impossible to do anything but nod approvingly of the food to your companions. Disappointing when you consider the standards Chef Sid has set for NZ dining with his restaurant Sidart (which is a 6 star experience)
C.
Lovely setting, the waiters and waitresses excellent, food was tasty and well presented but I wouldn't rush back again.
L.
This restaurant went beyond my expectations. The food alone is amazing, really amazing. The gin cocktails are the best and the service is first class.
I.
Wonderful food + amazing service from staff !
L.
Amazing food that was beautifully presented, taste great, and were such a good size. The staff were wonderful too. Looking forward to coming back!
ل.
Honestly an amazing experience. Atmosphere was perfect and the lighting was just right for those with sensitive eyes haha or those wanting a scene more cosy and relaxing. Food was stunning and prices are good. I highly reccomend this place it's gorgeous 😍😍
M.
Loved the starters, excellent service from the waitress, a little disappointed with the shrimp curry, the potatoes were a little undercooked and it was rather a very creamy sweet curry. I will definitely go back again to try the other mains
D.
OMG the journey tasting menu was divine along with the wine match. Definitely worth a visit.
A.
Funky setting, brilliant entrees/starters. Recommend you order 3 starter/taster items and sidestep the mains. The mai s are good, but tasters brilliant.
D.
An amazing gastronomic experience. Contemporary in delivery yet traditional in roots.. Indeed a place worth trying. A special shoutout to the bar tender, amazing mixology to compliment the culinary masterpiece.
P.
Superlative dining experience. Outstanding food and service. Great setting too. A must for the serious food lovers who are adventurous!
A.
Truly unique food cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Outstanding Decor and lighting all matched by professional and friendly staff. tikka roll a must
M.
Went here on Saturday had made a reservation food is good but Pricey $$$ atmosphere excellent. Only down side is we had to ask flag down our server for water all in all good experience
W.
Amazing once again , I highly recommend this restaurant, the staff are welcoming and happily explain the menu , I recccomend getting a selection of 5 or 6 entrees and sides (for 2 ) and sharing . We had the snapper, quail, lamb chops, paratha bread and a beautiful pumpkin dish and everything was outstanding I throughly love cassia
M.
fantastic journey menu. only comments: could have slowed down delivery a bit and tables a bit to close together.
S.
Nice place but not for Indian pallet. Great service though. Atmosphere is good. Table for two could've been slightly bigger.
C.
Great atmosphere, chose the Cassia Journey selection, amazing flavours and plenty of food!! Fantastic experience:).
O.
This restaurant has a big reputation and it was our first time here. It did not disappoint and tip from us, do not skip desert!
O.
A very special restaurant with the most amazing indian cuisine you will ever have! Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere!
I.
Incredible decoration, dishes, menu. Super creative. The chocolate dessert is something incredible indeed. Never experienced something like this.
J.
Fantastic food in a very chilled ambience. Lamb chops are a must. Sarad, our waiter, provided excellent service. Highly recommended.
J.
Possibly the best Indian food in Auckland with a modern twist.
M.
These guys were amazing, tailored my lunch to how I liked it even though it wasnt on the menu. The restaurant looked stunning. Service was great.
H.
If you are after traditional Indian food, this restaurant may not be for you but if you are wanting to try a unique, modern take on Indian food, I could not recommend Cassia enough. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful!
L.
If you want a truly authentic Indian food experience then this restaurant literally ticks all the boxes.
A.
Fantastic food. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Great staff.
N.
Beautiful modern Indian food in a lively atmosphere with very attentive staff. The cocktails are also excellent. 😊
N.
Mains are really big portion sizes so share. Venue was a hot and not well ventilated but probably the best Indian food you will eat.
D.
Absolutely amazing food. Inventive, delicious and perfectly executed! Very good service too. Oh, and great cocktails!
Z.
Incredible food, drinks and experience. Well worth the price tag. Get a booking in early to get the time slot you want - it fills up fast!

Hell yes. The food was as good as the hype, the service (we sat at the bar) was awesome and the staff was very helpful. I'd definitely go back.

H.
Best upscale Indian restaurant with food that is delicious.
J.
Great food, great staff
A.
Love the feel of this restaurant-cosy, modern and lively. Amazing fusion between Indian and european cuisine. Have been here twice and will be back again.
J.
Loved the food here, intimate setting and the cocktails were awesome. Will definitely be coming back here for more!
R.
Superb gastronomic experience. It is Indian, but nothing like you have tasted before, and presented in Western style.
A.
Love the food here, high end Indian fusion . Pleasant surroundings, good service and a well stocked bar - what more could you need?
C.
Hell yes. The food was as good as the hype, the service (we sat at the bar) was awesome and the staff was very helpful. I'd definitely go back.
P.
Fantastic cocktails and flavorful (although spicy!) food. Both the Chicken Tikka and Lamb Kebab were excellent.
G.
Been here on several occasions now. Food and hospitality has always been outstanding. Has definitely been a favourite of ours for a while now!
M.
Great food - Indian and European fusion, I would describe the style - with prompt and professional service. Recommended!
G.
Beautiful Indian flavours with subtlety and sophistication. Ate at the bar so entertainment as well. Highly recommended
L.
We dined here last week. As always the place was buzzing. Food was amazing & staff very friendly & attentive. Very pleasant evening.
D.
The 5 course tasting menu was excellent. Will definitely be back. Very friendly staff.
D.
Recommended by friends. Fantastic tasting menu. Something like 8 courses, with wine pairings available. Really great experience.
J.
Hard to get hold of the place to sort a booking, but the food and staff are great. A nice feature is that there is no mobile phone reception which ensures conversation!
J.
Ridiculously good contemporary Indian. Dark and stylish design with open kitchen. Recommend the clams madras style.
R.
Been there last week for a business lunch, I though the starters weren't that great but the main was amazing. Desert was the best I have every had.
J.
Outstanding food and service. You don't even need to remortgage, prices are reasonable. The Gin is a highlight. Can't wait to return.
M.
I visited for Holi and was disappointed to find they weren't celebrating the Indian festival. The food and service here were excellent, but overpriced. It was fun for the night, but I wouldn't return.
V.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and beautiful cocktails.
R.
Possibly best restaurant in nz. Worth every cent. Always exceeds our already high expectations!
M.
Amazing place, great service and delicious food. Do not be afraid to dine at the bar. It is very entertaining.
R.
Very tasty and modern execution of Indian cuisine. You changed my mind about Indian dishes.
J.
Exceptional service. Beautiful atmosphere. Hands down the best modern Indian cuisine place to eat in Auckland
Y.
Service and ambience really great, food was very authentic, nice flavours but not deep enough for my Indian pallet.
K.
I have not eaten like this in some time. Delicious food, funky atmosphere and impeccable service. I will be coming back!
J.
Great food! Excellent service! Highly recommended to visit.
R.
Food was very nice and the atmosphere was great. It was missing a real punch with the flavors for a fine dining restaurant.

Fantastic!! Every dish is a taste sensation!
F.
Cant say enough about this place. Absolutely top drawer. One of my top 3 faves in Auckland
P.
Liked it overall, but I was a bit disappointed compared to my expectations. The food was too spicy for me, which was a surprise as I generally like spicy food...
K.
This was absolutely marvelous. The hospitality and food. My first time in AKL. Thank you for your warm kind generosity on such short notice
J.
Food was top class, amazing staff that were helpful. Cocktails and drinks amazing.

Great take on Indian food from the creators of Sidart. Just watch the spice levels as some of these dishes get seriously hot.
M.
Food quality is utmost , tasty and healthy don't mind to visit them again.
S.
Starters, Mains, Deserts, Service, and Drink are incredible

A.
Had a large group in the private dining part and absolutely amazing. Thank you for the lovely evening.
A.
The Journey menu, although a little expensive is totally worth it. Great food and ambience.
C.
Excellent, a little pricey but well worth it. The lamb chops should be framed and hung in the Louvre.
A.
I genuinely have no idea how this is Auckland's best restaurant. I've eaten here twice and and no time was I impressed by the food or service.
J.
Food amazing, service amazing, atmosphere amazing! Simply amazing!
