Came here for dinner on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. Food came out very quickly as it was quiet night there. I got pork & chips for $32 and my partner got the steak meal. Friendly staff, and the food was very filling.

Went here for a birthday dinner, we had ribs and cocktails. The ribs were good, they were falling off the bone, we had 1kg between 2 people. The cocktails were excellent, I think they do $10 cocktail special which are well worth the price

We came for lunch and we didn't plan on dining in here. The other restaurant (which I won't name) had no chef. The service was great. The food was delicious... if I had to nit pick. It was that my pork belly tasted like salmon... but strangely I liked it lol

Good venue and affordable menu, real food, great service and staff remember their regulars too which is always great. Venue is great for families, meetings. Upstairs seating available if needed and intimate space. 2x bathrooms available downstairs and upstairs. Highly recommend this venue😊🥰 Compliments to your awesome chefs too!! We got the sharing platter for 3 unfortunately it wasn't evenly distributed. I am not sure if it was because it was late but the chicken a brisket was very dry and everything was cold. Also it felt like the service stuff were not communicating with one another once we received our food we were asked by 3 different people one after the other while were trying to eat about the food. Then asked if wanted dessert and then another server coming up to us a minute later to say they close in 10mins and we can't have dessert.

The food itself was amazing and I've dined here before without issue but wow the service tonight was terrible! The food came out very quickly but we had to ask 5 times to get water for the table and it didn't come until we were halfway through our meal. Once we had our food we were completely forgotten, no one came to check if we needed more drinks, our table was never cleared of our plates, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert (which we did). We were sat behind a wall that wasn't clearly visible to the staff and we really did feel invisible. If they're going to place a table out of sight like that then they should be conscious of the people who are sat there. There was also a cringey moment where the staff were singing happy birthday to someone at the table next to us, and they didn't even know the guys name so they just mumbled through that part of the song! The wait staff need a lot of improvement. The food really was delicious though, I would go again just for that and I would make sure not to accept the hidden table for fear of being forgotten again.

Was okay, but I had two issues. When we got our platter, the waitress, when placing it down, dropped a Buffalo wing on the uncovered table, and only said "Whoops, one dropped out" before taking off. And speaking of the "Buffalo" wings, there were no more than deep fried. No Buffalo sauce or anything resembling them.

Ordered the Pittmaster platter for anniversary dinner, blown away by the quality of our food: meats were so tender, hot with great flavour, including squid, ribs, pork, chicken nibbles, macaroni bites, and garlic bread. We had ice cream and apple crumble for dessert. The facilities were great, clean tidy restrooms, the table service just topped our night off: prompt, friendly, attentive, we left a tip. We will be back again, thanks! 👍🏼

Usually get the 2 person platter which never fails to satisfy my partner and I. Instead we chose one of the daily specials and it was absolutely delicious!! Also great spot to bring kids. 10/10 would recommend.

It was a good afternoon, we made reservations for 5 but ended up having 9 guest showing up which was good because they changed our table so we could all be seated together. And the food was good as expected worth the wait and the price was fine. The environment and scenery is lovely I forget that I'm at sylvia park when I'm there. The staff was lovely always checking in to see if we are alright and if we needed anything else. Would definitely go back when in the area and I high recommended this place for a work or family dinner.

Best Lamb Shank and top quality service, i buy from here on a regular via uber eats and never had any problems. i use uber eats for other places and there’s always something wrong. These guys will make sure you are goooood✨💯

Great Burgers and steaks. Medium-cooked steak is more like well-done. Go for medium-rare to get a juicy steak. Salad sides are not worth bothering, better off getting extra potatoes.

A franchise restaurant so the quality is maintained and monitored. Food is good not everyone wearing uniforms and I don't know why. Everytime when I making the reservation the person asked me to spell "David"my name and the English was not good from the other end. But when u walked in you'll find all the restaurant staff except chiefs are kiwis. Strange.

I really like Cleaver & Co and this particular branch is my favorite. The staff is always friendly and food is delicious. Tried the Sunday lam roast which was pretty good with some garlic bread and wings. It's location is very convenient if you are planning to watch a movie. Plenty of carpark as well.

Can't help but notice a decline in quality, had a super rickety table which we had to balance our meals on. Some of the staff are not very friendly and don't smile or radiate warmth. Its a shame because the food is still great!

I must say Lynnmall is looking great since I left New Zealand. My brother and I visited Cleaver & Co about a month ago and the service was great and so was the ribs that I had and the steak my brother had. Reasonably priced and nice relaxing atmosphere. I recommend going there for lunch.

Went for lunch and the brisket burger was so tasty. Also ordered the platter for 2 and the ribs were delish...only downfall was that our bbq chicken wings were not hot, seemed like they pre cooked them prior and reheat when ordered. Other than that thw food was great and service was superb.

I have been to this restaurant twice and on both occasions have been amazed by the quality of the food. The burgers are juicy and made with good cuts of meat. The food isn’t cheap but it is also not outrageous either. The staff are always friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant before you go to see a movie at the local cinema.

I've been coming here for the last few years since it opened. Their quality dipped for awhile but the last few times I've been here it's back to a high standard. Our servers were friendly and helpful - available without hovering. The food came out fast. There was almost no wait between the appetisers and the main. I highly recommend getting the beef brisket. I've had the beef brisket on its own and also in the po boy burger and they're both amazing. The snickers sundae is always a good choice for dessert too. As for drinks, ask for the cocktail menu - they have some really yummy (and well priced) cocktails here in addition to their regular drink specials.

A great place to chat with friends over dinner or a family reunion. Excellent service and perfect dishes! Will definitely come again! The steak is highly recommended. The special mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes is amazing! Fried chicken wings and cheese balls are also delicious!! With light alcohol, I'd even like to come three times a week!

Meals were good portions (burgers were popular followed by steaks). I personally had the chicken cobb salad dish which i rate highly and would choose again. They seem to be short on the kitchen, we waited more than 30 min for our food and it came wrong. The staff was not super friendly either, I had the feeling everyone is overwhelmed and tired. The food though, was good. I had beef brisket and my partner had a rump steak, both well cooked and well seasoned. I would try again, specially for the specials they are having during the week that seems to be their forte.

Came here a couple of times to eat with my partner and Family. I've almost tried all the burgers, I can say my favourite is the Chicken burger, and pork belly burger, so delicious and very ful-filling! Also their Pink Gin Cocktail is super yum! The waitress that served us was very attentive, recommended good food to try on the menu, very bubbly and positive person, her name was Reiani, little short girl with good eyebrows! Also tall, skinny, feminine guy was very helpful and patient with us, excellent customer service! Definitely a go-to spot for mean feeds with the fam!

Juicy burgers, crisp salty fries and cold on tap beer. My scotch steak with jus came out sitting on lovely fries making them soggy. What a bummer. The steak was okay, but the slaw was good with lots of dressing on it. Stick with the specialties (bbq) and staples (burgers and salads) and you'll enjoy it.

Great food, so a little torn in my review. We went on a Thursday, when by chance it was $10 cocktails, so thought we'd have a couple. Well I guess the Thursday cocktail "special" is simply to make them all virgin! Felt cheated in a cheap trick to save a dollar.

Met some friends here for dinner and I ordered the brisket. It was absolutely on point, falling apart on the fork. The meat had a great smokiness as would be expected from smoked brisket. The sauce was also right in there. Being from the states I have smoked my own brisket and eaten brisket in the restaurant. This brisket was right there with anything I have ever had before. The portion was also above what I expected. I did not leave hungry. The restaurant atmosphere was relaxed and the staff friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will most definitely eat here again if I can. The only negative was the wait staff could have been a little more attentive with checking back to us for more drinks as we would have ordered more. Once we were served our meals they never came back to check if we needed anything or how we felt about the meal.

I booked a table for a group - birthday celebration last weekend. We were served by a lovely waitress with a wonderful sense of humour by the name of Reiani who made the evening special with the level of service provided. It’s this sort of service that makes people come back time & again! Also shout out to the manager who thanked us for the group booking. The squid was incredible. It was perfectly cooked and the fries it came with were amazing too. Good value for money. The only reason it looses a star is because the wings were mediocre and I expected them to be juicier and the flavour to be more authentic. But still really good. We'll be back.

Dined here twice now and have ordered the pork ribs and beef brisket. Both times have been an exceptional experience and has exceeded my expectations. The brisket was delicious and the ribs were full of flavour and came straight off the bone. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and meals were served within a reasonable time. It's a shame that Cleaver & Co Northwest closed, but New Lynn is not that far so I'm all good. That menu item you call the Texan Stand Off Platter is on another level. I've never had ribs that tender and juicy nor have I ever had a brisket before. That was the most epic lunch I've ever had. My wife and I both enjoyed it very much. We will try the Pitmaster Platter next time we're there. Like Ron Swanson said when told that the Party Platter serves 12 people, "I know what I'm about, son."

Had a really good time, great food! Had chicken wings and the corn fritters. The burger was also nice. Unfortunately the floor manager of the day didn't seem super happy or welcoming when she greeted us; it felt like we were a nuisance when we walked in. And during our meal, she was acting passive aggressive towards one of the waiters who had made a mistake, and dealt with it very unprofessionally, complaining about it to the barista quite rudely, specially in front of customers and within earshot. Everyone makes mistakes or has bad days, but that circumstance definitely wasn't handled well. I knocked off one star specifically bc the environment felt very tense and sad. Hopefully it's not always like that. Looking forward to a better experience next time.

My overall experience in this restaurant was excellent . I’ve received great customer service from an employee named Reiani, she was so kind and so patient while I was ordering my meal. The food I had received was phenomenal and I would definitely recommend this place to a friend or family.

We had a young diner with a number of food allergies (wheat, nuts & egg) at our table but she was catered for very nicely and enjoyed her yummy fish & chips with a twist! Thank you for making her feel normal and included. Staff were pleasant and service was fast but definitely need more training to improve service especially when you first come and are seated. Little things like staff greeting you, showing you to your table, providing water & menu and asking if anything else is needed then coming back after 5 minutes to take orders for drinks, etc plus checking in in-between meals to see if anything else is needed, will definitely improve the experience a whole lot. This is something that management should definitely consider when training their staff. Atmosphere was a little noisy for some in our group (of 6) but overall we all had a good time.

The meat was good. I ordered a dessert, it sounded very intriguing "snickers sundae" or something like that. The description was mouthwatering but when it came it wasn't in the correct glass/sundae bowl in my opinion. The bowl was too narrow. It had a load of cream on top and the chocolate sauce was down the bottom and because it was so narrow I couldn't get a spoonful of all the components, so I had several mouthfuls of cream, then ice cream, then peanuts (not chopped which was weird) and then chocolate sauce at the bottom.. wrong order in my opinion and disappointing that I had to fight my food to get to get to the layers. The staff were really friendly and service was quick.

Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary here last night as our local (Westgate) still seems to be closed. We were pleased with the place especially food (10/10). We both ordered the rump steak and ribs, both amazing! "Big ups to the chefs!". Lovely man who served us our food. The other staff I'd say were okay? Not so much of positive vibes coming from them seeing that as they are the faces of the restaurant that they would put on their best service so that was a bit of a downer.

What an awesome dining experience!! Was greeted with super friendly service & seated immediately. Shortly after receiving our drinks, we ordered & within no more then ten minutes our meal (a shared bbq pitt platter) was served. It looked delicious, smelled devine & the meat, OMG the meat, which was pork belly, brisket, pork sausage was absolutely perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth, why would you want to cook this meat any other way but like this, to achieve the level of deliciousness & joy that it was to eat. If the brisket & pork belly were that tender & juicy & oh so flavoursome, I can only but imagine how the ribs (which weren't available at the time) would be. Will be returning for sure to indulge in the ribs on our next visit.

Meal look like a dogs dinner,food looks like its just piled on plate. One of the meals was a prawn meal which when served had shrimp (although a large serving) It would of been 10 times better with 6 well cooked Aussie prawms or similar not a cup full of shrimp?trying to pass them off as prawns . Went here for a birthday celebration. I had their beer battered fish (Hoki), which was very fresh and tasted excellent. Cost $25 with salad and chips. Would certainly go again. It is very popular so it pays to make a reservation. Service tops!

Venue is great. Clean. Can get a little hot inside during summer. Need a fan. Wait times for food at dinner time is long. Lunchtimes is a better time to go for me. Food. Nothing to write home about. Pork is dry. Steak is what you would expect, lamb is dry as hell. The gravy for the lamb is overpowering and dark. 2 things I no longer order from there is the lamb and pork. I mean, for the price of the meal, its just not worth it.

Really good service from friendly staff, unfortunately they were rushed off their feet but when our meals were taking too long to arrive we were offered a complimentary round of drinks which was cool. The meals were tasty, not too big and reasonably priced. The ribs weren't swimming in sauce like many other places but I suspect it's because they don't need to hide average quality ribs. They have heaps of tender meat on them and the smokey flavour would make them delicious without any sauce. The other times I've been here I would have given it a 5/5.

This used to be my favourite restaurant. My favourite dishes were the mushroom sauces steak and pasta but they've taken the pasta off the menu and the steak option is completely different. The potato chips used to be so tasty and beautifully crispy on the outside, they are now a cheaper and less mouthwatering option. The mushroom sauce used to make me giddy but its now a soppy mess at the bottom of the plate which does nothing to the meal but make dull. Looks like someone's charging the same price for lesser quality sad to say. Used to be worth the money. Now it's not a place I'll be spending any time.

Brilliant place that specialises in smoked meats and a killer snicker sundae. Unfortunately it is a bit pricey, but nothing ridiculous. The ribs are their top seller, smoked in a meat smoker overnight and covered in an excellent bbq sauce and served up with crunchy chips and coleslaw. Other dishes are a bit hit and miss. Service has always been lovely, restaurant’s warm and comfortable. If you love meat, you’ll love this.
