M.We stopped in yesterday to grab a takeaway lamb bunny chow, a chicken curry with rice and a peppermint crisp tart. All were very delicious and as good as the best food we’ve had in Durban over the years. The service was friendly and efficient too.
Even though it’s a 15-20 minute trip to get there normally (yesterday we had come from Long Bay nearby), we will look to get food from here regularly 🙂
K.FB messaged them for details quick response. Ordered over messenger. Picked up at 1pm. Lovely lady had the food ready to go. The samosas come with 3 different fillings: beef, potato & corn n cheese. We got the beef samosas & the potato ones. Both were fresh, perfect ratio of filling to pastry & perfect spice level. My partner who is kiwi found it right for his spice level. The bunny chow had so much meat in it & the gravy was perfectly soaked in the bread. The gravy was so flavorful & it’s the best I’ve had. My partner loved his masala steak shawarma too. He did have to add some yoghurt as it was a teensy bit too spicy for him. They do contactless pickup. Order before you go as they are super busy. Definitely will be back
J.Having lived in Durban all my life, I was so excited to try this food! Can honestly say that it is better then most places back home, and so authentic! Love love love!!! Cannot beat the lamb bunny!
R.The food is always fresh and tasty. Owners are super friendly and the service is excellent. The only place we buy our curry from and I love that it's got a good bite. Good slap chips and Russians as well and other options for kids.

B.D Urban Delites is a hidden gem of South African Indian cuisine in Auckland. The menu options and quality reflects true to the authentic South African style and heart that goes into food from "home".
This family run food business reminds me of the smoke houses in the US, where they produce amazing quality by keeping the batches manageable.
I find it interesting reading other reviews on here that they've miss out on some menu items some days. This food is so unique, that I feel it's up to the patrons to get their timing right, this is not Mcdonalds, especially if it's communicated by the establishment. I order in advance so I'm always certain of getting my portions of home cooked goodness.
I have travelled the world, specifically filming food documentaries, and for me, this is a special place. Get in early, even if you stand in line, and get a taste of true South African Indian flavours that will rock your taste buds into another universe.
For my 40th Birthday party to some elite guests, I ordered 14 Bunny Chow lamb curries from D Urban Delites. Only a weeks notice, they had my pot of beautiful Durban Curry ready when I arrived. They also had 14 pre-prepared half loaves of bread, Samosas, Milk Tarts, Peppermint Crisp Tarts and Koeksisters ready to go.
The food was the highlights of the party, my Kiwi and South African friends ate their hearts out and this gave my guests a great experience of fantastic food and a real taste of home.

A.Last evening we took a drive to Oteha Valley to do our usual weekend laundry. Decided to try D Urban Delites for a change. We were greeted by the owner who is such a lovely lady. We spoke quite a bit and made us feel so welcome. I ordered chicken with rice and roti and chicken for my partner. This was so tasty, full of flavours, made us felt like we were eating from our homeland. Both my partner and I devoured down the curry. The spice was just perfect! Quantity was also surprisingly huge with the price.
Also, tried some homemade sweet and sour lemon pickle and samp which was so tasty.
Customer service is fantastic, lovely people, and beautiful little cafe, love the inviting warm friendly feel! ❤ Looking forward to ordering again. 💯 Recommended to others.
T.If ever u miss durban or that home cooking u remember mums hot chicken curry or mutton bunny and that good old kerbus and roti then this place is worth the drive ,not forgetting those all good home made samosas .just the way we like it and the same way u remember ur mum making it .

Made with SO MUCH LOVE that you can taste it❤️❤️❤️ I think I've finally found the curry place I've been looking for- rich incredible layers of flavors in each of their preparations. Very different lamb and beef curry, epic samosas, and what a genius dish in samp and lamb!! Was absolutely worth the drive out (40mim from Avondale) - cannot recommend them enough! Family run business, extremely friendly and helpful. What an epic experience! Seriously, do yourselves a favor, drive up to these guys and get a bunny! 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍

s.All I can say is 100% the best Lamb curry we have EVER had! ... even better than we had at South African takeaways! The bonus is of course the lovely owner Lovin and his family. Such awesome people. Well worth the travel from Hibiscus coast for our"fix" :)

I recently moved to Oteha Valley and man was I happy to see this place. I had a lamb bunny chow. The meat was succulent, tender, melt away from the bone delicious. And the gravy was rich and HOT! So hot I was sweating and loving every second of it.
Generous portions of wonderful food.
Truly authentic Durban Curry ( I want the recipe people!)
I can't wait to try some of their other dishes.

S.A must if you want to have an authentic bunny chow. The taste , presentation and flavors were on point! I have to go back to go through the rest of the delightful menu. Priced well too.
M.In New Zealand for the very first time i have seen such a wonderful South African Durban Style Cuisine in my life and i Have mostly tried all the items and now keep ordering mostly twice a week i love your food, excellent services every time and every time i visit always try get something new and wonderful suggestion from you people. I am spicy lover so for me its wonderful and as according to me Durban style food are mean to be always a spice a spicy flavor food will keep coming. Keep it up wonderful taste and cuisine ever i had.
my favorite food biryani, samosaas, chicken curry with your roti bread, your carrot kachumber, your burger, your chicken cheese sandwich, chicken tenders and chips, your spicy chips, everything bunny chow.

S.After 3 years of living in New Zealand I am happy to finally have access to bunny chows. Ordered one recently and it was absolutely fantastic.
For all the Kiwi's out there who enjoy spicy food and want to try a dish found only in South Africa, I can highly recommend the bunny chow as Durban's favourite dish.

j.I had read the reviews and was excited to try the food. I was not disappointed. The service was warm and welcoming, the food was the best curry I have had since coming to Nz in 2010 by far. I did not want it to end. The portions were generous and the flavors perfect. I had curry and roti and it reminded me of the street roti I had in Mauritius many years ago. Amazing. My son had the burger and it was also very tasty and excellent value for money as was the whole meal. He even ate the onions! He never eats the onions! Also tried the South African soft drinks. Mmmm cream soda.
Will definately visit again for lunch or dinner. You have to try this place. Thanks Preya and family. :)

R.Great experience so far. I'm from Durban and can say the food is well cooked. We had Wors rolls and the wors was cooked perfectly. Nice and juicy. The roll also had butter on it with sauce which really impressed me because that is exactly what I like to prevent it from being too dry. The only thing i didnt like was the fact that the wors was only half the size of the roll. A bit skimpy in my opinion. Especially because we paid $8 for it.
