Can we take a moment to check out the huge size of the pork ribs for $35. I mean its huge compared to a few more places. They have the best food and the quantity is fare according to a person. Dont forget to try their milkshakes and desserts. Got a pretty basic ambience with ling tables and a poolside view. Staff is friendly and nice to communicate with. A definite to go

Been coming here for nearly 20 years. Kids absolutely love it. I always have the salmon skillet. Desserts are great. It's a low key place, easy going.

Big ups to the server named Andre who made my friends and I feel very welcome. He was very knowledgeable displaying service with a smile. He went the extra mile to honor an unusual special request by my friend tubs, that was to put a shot of coffee into a Banana Thickshake, which admittedly... resulted in a delectable custom drink Consider putting it on the menu Denny's?? Deserts, the thickshakes, and curly fries were all great. The regular fries however (non curly fries were somewhat cold in the middle) Will be back! ☺☺

Service a bit slower than usual but food was good. Looked like Dennis Wairau was short staffed but this is expected everywhere during the pandemic. Despite all these the service was still very reasonable. We did notice that water was not served until requested whereas this was the first thing brought to your table regardless of what was ordered. We had to request this separately , this was brought out instantly.

One of the best diners I've been to. Great if coming in a group. I recommend sharing Buffalo wings (more like nibbles), pork ribs, curly fries and hot fudge cake for dessert. Price is affordable as well.

The food there is nice l mostly liked the dessert there because it's like so yum but... when you finish it just all sweet in your mouth and your stomach like hurt after, and there is like no another way to tell you that. The place it self is ok l mean it's not mad. And l had the curly fries and it was ok pretty good but l think I've had better. After all l would still come here but not have the dessert.

We waited ages to get our food. People came after us and were served food. When our order came out it was clear it had been under the warmer for a long time. Eggs of grand slam were gross, rubbery and stuck to the plate and French toast dried. The snapper and chips plate was hot and exposed snapper on deep fried snapper chunks were rubbery (didn’t know that was possible), chips were dry and so was the salad-even the cucumber and lemon segment were dry

The only place to go late at night over on the shore. But the place feels old and tired. Needs a serious do-up or renovation. Menu feels like something from the 90s with bland food. Only two redeeming qualities is their great curly fries and plenty of parking.

Favourite restaurant ever, been coming since i was a child. My go to order is their fettuccine carbonara and macaroon brownie for dessert, I 100% recommend.

Fast friendly efficient service. Very reasonably priced, little wait time for food, fantastic choice and sooo yummy. Too full for pudding plus bottomless coffee.

It was ok, they ask me how I wanted my steak and then didn't even give me what I asked for. Asked for mushrooms that didn't come with the meal. Ended up getting ot for free. Will still go back, waiter was really nice lady

love this denny’s! picturesque lakeside setting, and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. delicious food and great value!! my grilled cheese melt with curly fries was exquisite. brought my bf here to break up with him, luckily his french toast was good too. we also shared a hot fudge cake - the perfect breakup dessert. emotions are no match for this mountain of chocolate sauce and ice cream. a michelin star dining experience!

It's my first time to visit Denny's family restaurant. I was attracted by the ad on the roadside that $9 special lunch Monday to Friday. I have the BLT with curly fries and its wonderful. Fresh ingredients with yummy sauce. I personally don't like the fries but I'm sure other may love it. Banana smoothes is wonderful too. Staff are very friendly. Very good environment, next to the pond.

Was ok. Nice service and nice atmosphere. The burgers patty were dry and tasteless. I would love to taste a nice home made patty with it.

Even though the restaurant was quite busy, they did very well with keeping up to customer service, the food came out on good time, etc.

Denny’s food is my absolute favourite. The burgers are nice and juicy. Their curlie fries are full of flavours and the texture is bang on for me. For all chocolate lovers, I strongly recommend their hot chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee pudding! Service, ambiance and hygiene is very professional.

Hadn't had Denny's since like the '90s in the US, but saw how big it was here. Took some of kiwi family here for their first time. Their meals were decently good for them, seemed content enough to possibly come back for some Sunday family brunches. Is nice to have all kinds of choices all day long, but the breakfast platter was underwhelming if I'm honest. Couldn't eat the sausages bc just mushy meat without any flavour. Pancakes were slightly overcooked underneath making them have slight burned flavour, but fluffy at least. Wish you could do some basic substitutes for the breakfast plates. Yes, we'd still come back, but best not to get expectations high. Rare that I don't finish a meal, but glad they exist for pancakes in this city.

This is the definition of a family restaurant. Kids love the food adults are happy as well (good food, good drinks). However, what I loved the most, is the service. Everyone is very friendly and happy to help. The manager on duty today gets a special mention. She goes the extra mile to please the kids. She talked with my 3 year old for a while (she is not in a hurry) and made him smile several times. Also, there was a baby at the next table and she went ahead and took her for a short ride around the restaurant area to calm her because she was crying. I've never seen that level of service before! That makes families feel very relaxed and happy.

Family friendly restaurant, not sure how good the rest of the food are since I've only tried their fish and chips for their lunch special which is alright. A view out to the lake and kids are roaming around the restaurant. It's a mix of western and Asian cuisine based on the menu I've seen.

Great range of food selection. We tried the bacon burger, lasagna and chilli fries. Good portion of food and a very nice view of a lake. Not really a fan of their chips though.

Second time to this Dennys. Second time we've found hair in the food. Came with a large group last Saturday and had items forgotten about even after prompts to staff.

WOW! is all I can really say for starters. Haven't been here much since I was a kid but boy did I leave feeling like an elephant this time. Had an awesome experience on a Sunday afternoon with the family. Great food, I thought it was tops, the burgers were awesome, the CURLY CHIPS!!!! were just awesome and the kids LOVED THEM!! all I can say is if you are down to earth and out for a fun family kai then this place is cool, great to see it still going strong after so many years here in Glenfield. It's not for the poncy or extremely pedantic. This is a family joint, and should always stay that way. Chips, burgers, steaks, fizzy drinks, happy. Will be going back. Oh, and for gods sake, get the CHILLI CHICKEN WINGS!!!! my god!! yes! don't forget those!!! make sure you don't eat before you go or you may pass out! awesome!!! PROS - Good easy parking, plenty of. Air con. Big seating arrangements for families. Toilets. CONS - Sun can cook you if you are on the pond side, just ask and the waiters will put the drops down for you.

Our server Tina was friendly helpful she was all over the place serving cleaning ect where as other waiters were just wondering around. Food was good ish enjoyed visit

Me and my partner decided to give Denny’s a try and regrettably our experience was a little bit of a disappointment. We ordered one Oreo milkshake, two burgers with curly fries. The Oreo milkshake came quite quickly and it was so good we decided to get a second one. Our food orders arrive and we waited another 10 - 15 minutes for the second milkshake. The burgers and fries were not too bad however it would have been nice if they included a delicious dip for the chips, instead of the typical tomato sauce you buy from a supermarket. This is considering that you are already paying $14-$16 for the burger. We asked if we could get some Aoli and it cost a $3.50. Now we only wanted a little bit however that was the only option they had so we had to get that one. When we got the sauce it was quite a substantial amount, I would say about half a size of a tennis ball worth. Atmospheric-wise the place is great. It gives you that feeling of being in a classic American diner. You can even sit at the windows that outlooks the local pond. Overall the experience was a little average if you take into account at how expensive the food was.

oh my goodness the food was something out of a fairytale most delicious food. only downside was the 4 hobos sitting next to me shouting ( I think one had tourettes)

Lots of light. Comfortable seating. Welcoming, friendly and polite team. Love the food. I would have given a half star if some patrons helped out keeping the toilets tidy and clean after there use. I would have added the other half of the star if I was given more seafood dressing for my fish meal. Besides all of that I'm a very happy scoring Denny's 4 stars and I will certainly be back again.

Best place for dessert. Service is always good and staff are polite and attentive. Been going here for years . Very affordable. Only 1 thing to change - BLT needs extra bacon strips .

Edit: Great service, food was served fairly quickly Food is still good, staff were pleasant but it's the small things like the sticky floor in the bathroom, the hot fudge cake being cold, the dated decor and no atmosphere.

Much improvement lately. Staff are professional and friendly and we love the huge range of vegetarian options now available as well as the range on the kids menu.

We often come here , by ourselves or with the kids. Every meal we have ordered have been to our satisfacation. My steak is cooked exactly how i like it and my eggs. We will gurantee leave satisfied and fullfilled :) Yes we would definitly come back here again

Amazing desert spot!

Our suggested venue was packed with Birthday's, so we decided to go to this place for my Birthday. TIME: * Arrival: Left us waiting for a table for over 25 minutes, but it was late, and this place was open till 12am, they weren't even that busy and had plenty of staff on to seat us. * Seated: Waited another 10 minutes for our order to be taken. * Waited an 35 for our food. Now food: Was not worth what we paid, it was over-cooked, under cooked and hard. We addressed this matter upon payment, all they said was: They'll talk to the Chef. 😒 I RECOMMEND (MANUKAU) DENNY'S.... 😊 Better cooks there and definitely worth the price you pay, we go there for Birthday's....

I read some reviews about this place as a fine dining spot. It is not such place. It is a fast dining restaurant. We ordered a few dishes. The food was ok. What put me off was the quality of salad freshness. I wouldn't serve customers paying money rotten leaves. Not sure if it is their usual quality, but let's hope not. The restauranteurs probably need to update their table and chairs setting. I felt like Gordon Ramsay and his Kitchen Nightmare team should come and help this restaurant. I know how a review can affect a business, I would rate this place 3.5 stars but since there's no such option, I encourage the restaurant to be mindful of what you put on a customer's plate. They might or might not come back after 1 visit.

Nice food, good customer service from all, reasonably priced for most meals, waited a little bit but not too long for the meals.

We came for my husband's birthday this evening. Great service, very friendly. Quick to take our orders and the food was good. This restaurant is great for diner meals like burgers and chips. Tonight we got 1 free meal for my husband's birthday, can't complain 😊

Great place to have a no frills dining experience, kids don't seem to notice. You get what you pay for, staff are friendly, food is very very average, nice to look out to the pond, watching the ducks, kids love it. Could do with new menu prints, they are bent, sticky and just need replacing, very neglected( not a good look).... However I still find myself coming back, this place use to be a lot classer back in the day.

Your Classic American diner food. When you just feel like a nice greasy Burger, with a shake and a sweet rich hot fudge cake to top it off. 5/5 will consume my entire daily calorie intake here again.

For years we have driven past Denny's Wairau and always seen people inside. Last night we stopped in to see for ourselves, we even got a lake front window seat. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I state that I have never had a worse experience for food or service or ambience while eating out. Remember when you were flatting and that one flatmate couldn't cook at all. Well, the food at Denny's is way worse than that. The only thing sadder than the food was probably the fish in the aquarium at the front door because there was no light on in the tank. The front of house staff member is clearly in the wrong job, something not involving people or service would be a better vocation. And it's not as though the poor food was offset by the price. $30 mains for what clearly came out of a packet is astounding. However, I give it 5 stars because as a spectacle and an experience is concerned, this place cannot be beat. Do it, at least once in your life.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience then you've come to the right place! The Chef was lovely and came and talked to us about our meals, when prompted about the origins of the grilled cheese he talked about his travels to Italy and his sourcing of the finest cheeses around!. Amazing stuff! If you go, make sure to ask for your chips 'bussin' style, they'll know what you mean 😉

Tasty food and still good value. I love their curly fries. I like their all day breakfast and their meals always come with salad now. Not sure when they changed that as we only started eating here again maybe in the last 2 years. Desserts are also good. Service sometimes depend on who's waiting on you but most of the time, it's been good.

I love Denny's and have been going there for years. However to not have the trademark Denny's hash browns and be offered a generic triangle hash brown I could buy at any supermarket was disappointing to say the least. I go to Denny's for the true American hash brown not a pale comparison. I'll be holding of going back until the true hash browns make their return to the menu

A large family group of us called into Dennies at 12 midday after being busy at an activity all morning.Children loved what they ordered as well as the adults. Our staff were very pleasant and patient with the children. Thankyou.

Dinner was awesome except my mum had the garlic and herb chicken meal and the chicken wasn't quite cooked, my partner had lamb steak, he enjoyed that, had chicken fettuccine and it was delicious. The menu looks really good too. 😋😋😋

Friendly staff, did make a couple of mistakes but weren't major. But they sorted it out quickly.

A step up from Drive-thru eating, they have a pretty good selection of things to eat. Im always getting their big breakfast style dishes, good value, hot and tasty enough. This Dennys is always clean, and the staff are efficient. We have never had to wait for a table, and we will be going back again next time we are doing shopping locally.

The apple pie is seriously the best affordable apple pie I've ever had. Aside from that you don't go to Denny's for the food, you go for a laugh and a catchup, and it's the only place on the shore open late/24 hours on weekends.

Been going here for years, even when the old managers were here, not once have myself or my family ever been let down. Great lovely service, very nice and bubbly lady there, always felt welcome. Great chef.

I had to clean the table and chair myself. The staff need to be more attentive to the cleanliness . The banana split was good.

Danny’s is good, previously and might be longtime ago. This branch is not good as the name of Danny’s. The prices expensive? Nah but the food not good prepared as expected. So the food is expensive comparing to the quality. Is work this to visit? Yah once or twice max. Variety of food? Yes. Many many options and for the dish also many option to add on or take away. Service fast? Yah accepted and not take long. Customer services? The waitressing are good and helpful. Anyway, this branch need to be more tidy and cleaning.

My partner and I had dinner there last night our first time there too!! I loved it!!!!! Ringo and the other ladies were lovely!! ( I didn't catch their names) The service was just A1!!! We are definitely coming back and I just wanna know... Do y'all take tips? We were too shy to ask 😂 thank you ladies for being cheerful and kind and always came around and asked if we needed anything. The Denny's in town and new Lynn could never 😂😂😂 we never had to wait for someone and put our hands up lol. they came with smiles and the food was fresh and yum!!! Relaxed atmosphere. Good for the whole family. Plenty to choose from. Tasty meals and delicious dessert's- I highly recommend the brownie- it is devine!! To top it off great customer service and plenty of free parking.

We went here last night, then again for fathers day breakfast today. It's been a very long time since we last ate here, and loved it. The service and food were awesome. A huge improvement on last time. Keep up the good work. The toilets need proper taps, those "wash one hand at time" taps need to go. But otherwise our large group had a great time. Thanks for two awesome meals.

The food was awesome but the service was bad that day.. Made my eggs the wrong way at first never refilled my coffee on a bottonless coffee never checked with us if we needed anything else. Manager was a little rude

Beautiful service, had the vegetarian breakfast, it was delicious, my boyfriend had the manly man's breakfast,( that's my name for it) sausage, bacon, eggs, toast, I think he had baked beans too, coffee, he loved it, perfect start to the day👍👍👍

I have had many meals here over the years, and have never been disappointed. Visited recently after several years, had a good meal, and was impressed by the fact the premises were tidy and well presented. 6th October: we recently had breakfast at Denny’s in Wairau Park Auckland. The meal was great and the latte was enjoyable too.

As good as every other visit. Always friendly and welcoming. Excellent meal - the Millennium Burger is my go to! They were super generous with the fries tonight in particular and the Oreo shake was as delicious as ever. I look forward to my future visits.

Had dinner with the misses, bought two chicken burgers w fries and a chocolate milk shake. Pretty damn good to me, only thing I could say is that our drinks menu was a lil dirty

The place is hasnt changed. Still a friendly affordable family restaurant. They don't take bookings though so be mindful when considering a large group. Also they don't let you split the bill so. Staff very friendly and helpful. They deserve a tip every time.

Great meal reasonable price good service

Great place. A bit over priced and how they increased their price over the years. What a shame, they wouldve been a place for getting good value out of their price. But one thing I love going here for is the curly fries and hot fudge cake for late night talks with mates.

Not great, not Terrible. You get what you paid for and nothing else. The staff were friendly and helpful, but their smiles couldn't hide how depressing the atmosphere is. Like McDonald's but without the "I'm loving it"

Always room for improvement with customer service skills some of the and that is only pointing the finger at a particular duty manager . He has no people kills not really interested if you have had a nice meal.. He has a title of Duty Manager but is not into problem solving or keeping the customer happy in store at the time . His response if not happy with something is "I will let the manager know" I am a regular at this venue and sometimes twice a week however I have stopped going there on a regular basis.. food is pretty nice

It was okay, the food was as expected, but the service was hit and miss. The server who took our order was friendly and cheerful, but the one who brought the food seemed like he really didn't want to be there. They got two things wrong on the order, although it was sorted out easily enough.

Denny's is a good place to go for a family night out. Food is tasty and filling. Prices are reasonable and the staff are helpful.

I love this Denny's! It's open very late and the food is always very tasty and reasonably priced. The serving sizes are generous and if you ask they will give you a container so you can take home the leftovers of your meal. The staff are all friendly and helpful, especially Heidi!

The prices are fair and the food was good. Burgers are not exceptional but still good. A few things on the menu have been crossed out and probably need a reprint. We missed having any kind of music on our visit but enjoyed it otherwise.

Such a large varied menu. Always get a table even when busy. Quick service. Food is average but good place for families. My only gripe is that the kitchen staff are very loud and it can be uncomfortable if your table is close to the kitchen.

Burgers are great, good breakfast options and service is excellent. Pancakes I have had better experience elsewhere. All in all good place for a meal of any kind. View is really nice with it being next to the pond and I love the traditional American booth seating.

The diner was filled with various groups of friends, workers taking dinner break, families and couples. The waitresses were quick to respond and serve. I ordered a lasagne and coffee based on reviews i read earlier and the food was delivered in 5mins. I was impressed with the service and my lasagne was served with a fresh salad accompanied by a dressing and garlic bread roll. The atmosphere was friendly and cool!

First time to Denny's for about 20 years and they still seem to have exactly the same menu! Very consistent! A casual place, good prices, large meals, American style. Great value for money. Good place for families.

Denny's portion sizes are very large. We ordered the curly fries and both me and my partner could not finish them. The Oreo shakes are amazingly good and they bring out extra that could not for in the serving glass.

Typical American diner, quite pricy. The curly fries are very nice. Don't bother ordering the steak or vegetables. Ordered it medium rare and got it well done. Also it is so thin that you could never make it medium rare. Vegetables are just cooked. No salt. No presentation.

They've changed my favorite menu item, the patty melt, to use a mass produced burger patty that diminishes the whole experience. The staff are friendly, but take a long time to serve the table and it's hard to catch their attention

If you're looking for a good burger in the middle of the night, this is the place to go to. Their Millenium Burger is the best! My kid loves it here because of the extensive menu for children. For some reason, the floors in this place is always sticky -- but I generally don't mind, the kids love eating here anywhere.

Who doesn't love Dennys, they are consistent and the food tastes good. Not great but good. Know what you are going there for and you will never be disappointed. Can recommend the Burgers or the pie both affordable and delicious!

Upset with the change in hash browns. You could go to any place to get these greasy triangle hash browns. Please go back to the traditional Denny’s hash browns.

Good place, good food and best service! There is one staff who is so particularly very attentive and helpful. She even carried my friend's baby so we can relax a little while we dine. Its unfortunate that we werent able to get her name but truly, kudos to the kind of service she delivers!

Staff member Sonia held my neice & walked her around the restaurant while we were waiting for our meals -Over and above excellence in customer service. When paying we were told we were the recipient of(an unknown customer) paying it forward, they had kindly paid $18 off our bill- THANK YOU & Merry Christmas.

We come here alot for breakfast... the endless coffee is a plus but they have a high staff turnover and so the quality of the food is a bit hit and miss. Some times it's awesome and the portions are great and other times they forget the cheese and only half fill your plate.

It was nice clean and friendly the curly fries were yum and my steak my son enjoyed his kai and so dd moko. I thought it was a bit expensive but my son had alcohol with his dinner that made it expensive other than that it was quite nice

Quality and portion size have gone down over the years, as prices have risen. Not as good as Manukau or New Lynn, better going to those branches

Food was some what okay but the constant stares from the cooks just made us feel uncomfortable. Weird.

I used to go to these restaurant for family meals, haven't been for last 5years. Things had change-food are a lot smaller than before, prices change as expected, surrounding same, service is ok. Most places have place to self serve water possibly this restaurant could do too instead of waiting for a while just to get water.

Little lack of understanding both ways with the waitress. Food isn't too bad though.

Food was great, but very slow, poor,service, asked for topup of coffee, never arrived, quite buzy this time.

The Staff are really lovely. Food definitely isn't cheap but is tasty enough. I like their $9 lunch specials if you arrive and order before 5pm.

We come here every Christmas week for dinner. It's always so lovely and service is always at the best it can be. The meals are well cooked and if I had to, I'd come here daily.

Friendly service. Air conditioning always on the cooler side. Early morning bacon and eggs cooked perfectly. Reasonably priced.

A nice enough diner. The service was good as was the food. Their biggest mistake was taking the battered fish and chips off the menu. That was really good.

Nice relaxed atmosphere with a view of water at window seats. Staff friendly and helpful. Food can vary a bit in quality but enjoy going here for a no fuss, relaxed meal.

Service has always been speedy here. Food has always been nice, it isn't a 5 star restaurant but nice portion size. No entertainment for kids though

We have been regular attenders here at all hours of the day and night (You cant beat Open 24 hours !!). The staff have always been great and the meal are always a good size and well cooked.

Falafel was good really but Fettuccini was awful. The chicken was smelly in Fettuccini amd the sauce was very low quality

It's a Dennys! You get what you expect. Nice food and service. A reasonable view across the pond around dusk. Dennys always has good prices and convenient hours if you're out late.

A decent place to go for burger or dessert. The burgers are pretty great however the plain chips which were delish have turned into plain crinkle chips.. not a good move..

I was looking for a real US Denny's. Nothing similar. The menu is really different, and the taste of the things that supposed to be similar wasn't the same. If it have another name I would give 4 stars.
