Been a while since we last enjoyed Mongolian BBQ. Such lovely customer service from the host at front counter, waiting staff, cooks. Food is delicious, fresh and plentiful! My fave tonight, the broccoli soup, mussel soup, bulgogi and two delicious spicy Asian noodle salads from the cold fridge which were yummingly tasty! Too bad I was full otherwise I would've had seconds, thirds. A really lovely, beautifully presented restaurant!! We will be back!

Not the best photos I've taken and it certainly doesn't do justice for my experience here! The best place to go if you have a BIG appetite (I ate 4 plates lol). Originally had a booking and needed to cancel some people last minutes which they handled nice and quickly. Place has nice atmosphere, not super crowded even though filled with people. Buffet food was pretty good but the best one is when you get to make your own food. I recommend trying to follow their suggested sauces as they are sooooo yum! Only thing is sometimes you might feel pressure from the people behind you but take you time anyways :) Also stuff your bowl since the food shrink.. a lot haha. Will definitely come back here again!

Good variety of salads meats hot food and dessert. I liked that the food didn't look like it had been baking under lights for half a day, although the buns for the soup tasted a day old. I didn't have food cooked on the grill this time, I am leaving that for another day. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Service was amazing tonight! Great communication with bookings. Their way of adapting to covid and having us solely seated at the table whilst they serve us was great (must be super tough for the workers but they make it work). We were there to celebrate two birthdays and it was a full house tonight but amongst the busyness today the staff worked really hard to get everything cleared and served out as quickly as possible. Waiters were super patient, kind and very efficient! Amazing staff and service during Covid!

Buffet all you can eat is awesome if you want to feed a big family. Good selection of meat. Just be prepared to eat close to others if celebrating a birthday. People sometimes jump the queue when food is being cooked and signs to remind peeps should be organized better. More dividers to separate families could be considered as well for privacy but overall a decent place to eat and walk out with a full stomach. Karaoke next door too.

Went to Gengis Khan Botany for the first time last night and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and of course the options. The cooked options was definitely better that the other Gengis Khan restaurants I’ve been to i.e New Lynn and Lincoln Road. The BBQ meat options were also great and they kept the meat well-stocked along with the sauces. We also had pancakes and ice cream for dessert. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. We were required to wear masks and gloves when we served at the buffet area but we could removed them at our tables that were socially distanced from the other tables. The price was $34.90 for dinner and it was pretty worth it. I’d definitely go again.

First to add that this place is huge, you need to make a prior reservation , secondly the food was good but it's too crowded that to get ur opportunity to pick some food takes you 15-20 minutes in the line , so Everytime you decide to take a plate n get something new , your wait time in the line would be nothing less than 10 min, loved all of their buffet menu, dessert line was too slow to move, we waited for 20 min in line with just 7 people before us but still it hasn't moved much, so we skipped the pancake part n directly moved to icecreams. If you book in bulk you get free coke here along with ur food. you have both alcoholic n non alcoholic drinks , which would cost you extra if you want to have them

Love this place!!! I think the Bottany branch is far superior to any we have been to before. We were super impressed by the quality and quantity of dishes available and everything was super fresh. The make-your-own stir-fries are just delicious. You need to book for large groups but they take walk-ins.

Its was overcrowded, waiting in line for food to cook was long, be lucky to get two servings in the 2hr timeframe. The floor was quite slippery. Customer service at the bar was good. Small dessert corner near tables very awkward for people seated there to get in and out when u have quite a few people waiting for their pancakes. Ended up just eating fried food that is readily available as line was too long and sushi which was nice but not what we went there for. They need to address the slippery floor near the dessert area, its definitely an accident waiting to happen.

The restaurant has a nice setting in the dining area. I like the high ceiling and the spacing of the tables. The quality of food was great. The boys at the grill worked hard to cook every meal in a timely manner. The food is delicious. The waitresses were helpful to our family. Only one part to work on is to maintained the icecream temperature so it doesn't get soft and liquidy. Thank you for your great service to our family. Keep up the great work.

Been here so many times with my family and friends. The staff are very friendly, one time they even went out of their way to make mickey mouse pancakes because my 3 year old niece had asked. Love the food and the prices of drinks aren't too bad. They also have ice cream to go with the pancakes and free coffee etc as a drink choice

I used to get annoyed at standing around waiting in the line to get dinner selected and cooked but with all the extra choices that are ready to eat that is not a problem anymore. Awesome, it offers a unique dining experience! prices are fair for how much you can eat. Staff are friendly, professional and still maintain a smile on their face no matter how many people they're serving or dealing with (and trust me this place can get seriously busy!). Food is yummy and usually makes you full on your second round. Suitable for people to go and eat casually and have fun as a group and enjoy. This is not a very suitable place to go for formal dining or as a first date if you know what I mean.

We celebrated my friend’s birthday here. I love how the staff celebrated the birthday with us. They were all smiling and singing! Since I forgot to buy a cake for the celebrant, one Asian lady from the bar even helped me to prepare a nice pancake that would look like a birthday cake complete with dedication and candle. I love her enthusiasm. But also theres a bad side in this establishment. I felt discriminated by a fellow Asian old grumpy man from the pancake area. He didn’t even served me and was grumpy when I asked him to make me 3 pancakes he said he will only make 1 for me, and then he served a local kiwi with all smiles giving him 2 pancakes! I was so sad by the situation but thankful that the other Asian lady at the bar was really, really nice with everybody. I wish I got her name. With regards to food and choices, there’s not much. Food is basic - not good, not bad. Nothing really stands out for me.

Great place to dine with a big group. Pick the food you want which is raw meat and or vegetables, hand them to the guy at the big hot plate who will cook your food and hand it back to you, you can then add sides. You can go up as many times as you like and create your own flavours. Pancakes and ice cream are great too!

Good vibe, we enjoyed just sitting and sharing the evening with an occasional food break in between the chatting. If you can handle waiting in line and "fighting" the crowd, you get to design your own meal and eat as you want to. We'll be back.

Ti Rakau Genghis Khan busy night organised and sizeable venue. Catering buffet of salads seafood fried and cooked buffets. Than a selection of meats and salads with condiment sauces to be viewed as you onlookers 3 -4 chefs entertaining spatula and knives grills with your stir fry as it is tossed and plated to you. Hindrance is the line lanes as there can be a confusion to the buffet lines causing you to file in the wrong queue and ending in the back of the queue can be an annoyance to your service. But patiently waiting you enjoy the meal with your guest unless you are in the dessert line and people are jumping queues to be in with there group so as to not wait in the long queue that is now overlapping the buffet lines while you wait 45 minutes later the cattle jumpers get ahead with x2 pancakes per customer you wait or do what my husband did ( unwise go 4 times and still cattle jumpers and he gives up with no dessert) but you persist in the line on next visit and wait alongside and get the same so you don't have to wait again. Urgently need a realignment of lanes suggestions is to maybe reposition two pancake grilles opposite either side one near coffee and tea area and guest tables width rather than length so lanes have readable access. Plenty of space it's a realignment of positioning areas would make more rather than less and happy all round. Wait services very good at tables and buffet collecting and tidily organised well done. Not all the Ghengis Khan restaurants are the same so you have to bear this in mind. Paying bill and time allocated can be rushed an imposed on you to hurry up an move out for the next service maybe looking at a 30min gap rather than hustling customers out like a herd of cattle. We know the service, meals, are great but let's have the whole experience right up to the end when you make payment remember it's customers money that pays for repeat of business is that not important "great overall experience " I believe it should be don't you? Catering for 35 people @ $ 22.95 is for one being but you could see brings of up to 60 people what a sizeable amount and that does not include the side drinks so you would envisage customer service flowing through until you leave, I would like to imagine that to be the case but at times its not. Ghengis Khan I would come back but do take into account suggestion there would be so much growth if there were amendments to the line locations and pancake areas. However thankyou for the meal and wait services. I did not take photos last Saturday but full house and more queues coming and going. Note a single door opening is hard to get in and out and which prams are coming and going it's a traffic jam so help bring in more customers by looking at ways to increase rather than minimise. It's like the obstruction is to ward of people who try to take off and nor pay but there is always a better solution to ensuring payment is made weather as they enter in first or ensuring the guest party organiser collect payments of there guest and make payment once all have sorted before eating as suggestions there are always a more improved ways of ensuring everyone is having a great night or day and that includes the restaurant employees and team. Again great selections of buffets and stir fry dishes.

He has been very helpful, always checking up on us and making sure we have a good experience out of eating at Gengis Khan Botany. I have never had a good experience prior to yesterdays dinner. Great place to eat. They have a massive range of food that you chose what you won't from the buffet raw and take it up to the cooks to cook and they cook it while you wait there. It takes a couple minutes for them to cook. Service from the staff is great.

Food is good value for money but the cleanliness of some areas of the restaurant is poor. Greasy and slippery floor area where the ice-cream freezer is - needs a good mop! Lastly, the toilets....one word - disgusting. Clean your toilets properly and get proper sanitary bins cause they stink the whole room up! Floors look like they haven’t been mopped for months. I’ve seen public toilets cleaner than that. Step up your cleaning game GK Botany.

We went here for our wedding anniversary, and were very impressed, my husband is allergic to Gluten and Dairy and asked if there was any information about which sauces or marinades would be safe, he was given a very comprehensive sheet which listed every ingredient in all the sauces, marinades and oils, they were also able to cook his meat separately if he required to avoid cross contamination. This was beyond all expectations as the most we had hoped was to be pointed to a few safe sauces. Thank you for a great experience.

This is a great place for me to eat as I can keep to my Keto diet and my family can have their Asian influenced food. Whatever your taste, there will be something for you. A bit light on deserts though.

The original place to meet with family and friends has always been Genghis Khan in Botany. Food has never been a problem. Fresh as always with flavour. Vegetables are lovely also. Chef’s are very kind and communicate at times (normally quiet as always). An recent update is they have added extra cooked dishes like Butter Chicken & Mac n Cheese , providing vaster choices of food. Will always come to Genghis Khan. Keeps customers happy.

I had an lovely, crazy, awesome experience on Saturday evening with my family from Church - around 13 members joined together as one for Kim - our FAV sister/friend. It was yum when it came to dinner which was buffet with varieties of food to choose from and beautiful pleasant ambience and lighting.. The drinks were not that good late during closing times - tasted pretty bad.. Lol. Thanks Kimmy for introducing me to such an interesting place to chill.. There were 3 table which celebrated their family members birthdays along with our table..

Wow! Can definitely say GK Botany has up their game wth the set up of their restaurant since the last time we dined here. There was a variety of foods to choose from &dessert was so good! Pancakes and icecream can never go wrong wth that, our kids loved it! Probably just need fruit salad to add to the dessert menu or cakes or sweets like other restaurants have. Good value for your money though🙂Great Service!!!! STAFF were lovely as always. BUT above all, lastly their "TOILETS" was a major disappointment!! No change table or room for the babies (something yous should look into because there are parents with younger children who are not yet toilet trained and still wear nappies duhh) since its a kid friendly place it is a MUST to have a room for the mothers and babies. GK BOTANY need to focus on cleaning your restrooms thoroughly because they look like they have never been cleaned at all. Also fix your broken toilet seats!! Put out signs for wet floors!! So so DIGUSTING my 3 year old daughter refused to sit on that toilet seat!! Even FIX UP UR old hand dryer, the slowest hand dryer i have ever used to be honest!! Should just put up paper towels or upgrade the hand dryer simple as that! Will come back if these issues are been looked at but if not will never recommend yous. Thank you GK BOTANY!

Plenty of different types of food ranging from sushi, fried rice, salads to pancakes and icecream for dessert. They also have plenty of vegetarian options on their buffet (samosas, dumplings, rice, noodles, salad etc.). Unfortunately they dont have a seperate grill for veggies, if thats an issue for you as it was for me. For meat eaters its great as you can just pick your meat, sauces, rice or noodles to your liking. Nonetheless I did not feel left out and had plenty of yummy foods.
