I was so lucky to have my birthday dinner at One Tree Grill. It would be the best choice ever! I couldn’t count how many times we said “Oh My God! It’s so good!” But we were so impressed by the rich flavor of every dish! It’s amazing!! Thanks to the chef and the great service from every staff! I have recommended it to my dear friends and would definitely come again.

The menu here is so appealing we had to choose the degustation menu to get a little taste of a lot, and we were not disappointed. The presentation good that I had to take a photo of every course! And the taste of every bite was divine. Matched with a nice wine, great ambiance and impeccable service this was a night to be remembered. Easy online booking and plenty of nearby parking.

5 out of 5. Very nice staff and service. Drinks are unique and nice. Excellent food with decent amount. Nice and cosy atmosphere too.

Food and service was absolutely spot on! I love that i got to celebrate my birthday here. For starters, we were welcomed very warmly and led properly to our table and got offered to get our coats stowed for us. Then we were provided tablets to browse the menu but got explained the seasonal items. Our waitress was attentive but not in-your-face. I love that she continuously topped up our water. The bread to start with was done well, truffle butter is really yum. Our entrees were delicious, mains superb and dessert was fabulous. I would give this place a 10 if i could, and won’t hesitate to bring friends and family back. Thank you so much for making my birthday so special ❤️

We dined at One Tree Grill on 30/7/21 for my husband’s pre-birthday celebrations whilst visiting Auckland recently. The whole experience from the moment we arrived was enjoyable. Drinks at the bar to start off with expert guidance on pre-dinner drinks. The subdued lighting that created a romantic setting. Choosing our food via their tablets was fun. Our table seating was well spaced from fellow diners and our waiter and waitress were lovely without being intrusive. The food was yummy. We over indulged but it was worth it. For that special occasion … to treat your loved one … to celebrate an event or just to enjoy good food and wine and a beautiful setting - you can’t go past One Tree Grill. We live in the Bay of Plenty which is probably a good thing as we’d be here every week I think! Thanks for the experience. We will visit again next time we go to the big smoke.

If there was .5 then I would definitely give them 4.5. I really enjoyed the food especially the dessert - fijoa and black berry mille feuille. It is just phenomenal🥰

My partner and I came here pre-lockdown to try their degustation menu. He's a meat-eater and really enjoyed every dish. Two dishes were a miss for me [a pescatarian] as they were bland. However, compared to the other restaurants that offer degustation, One Tree Grill is reasonably priced. The wait staff were also attentive and friendly, and the overall experience was enjoyable.

Outstanding food and service. Due to covid lockdowns our wedding gift voucher was out of date, but generously they were willing to honour it. Three delicious courses followed. I definitely recommend the lamb.

One of the best restaurants we have visited in the Auckland region. The dining area is beautiful yet comfortable, and the menu is displayed on an iPad with images to help make your selection. The food was out of this world. We had the confit lamb belly and mushroom entrees, the pork belly and eye fillet steak for mains and the cardamom semifreddo for dessert. Each dish was well thought out and the flavours worked well together. The highlight was also the friendly yet professional and attentive servers we had, Antonio and another young kiwi gentleman. We were never left waiting long, they both topped up water glasses and cleared plates very quickly. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Visited here again after a while. This place is top notch. Everything from the ambience, the food, our attentive waiter was amazing. The food options are delicious. The cocktails available are standard ones, but done very tastefully. Wide selection of beers and wine too. Our waiter for very attentive and creative when accommodating food diet requirements. Very polite and professional. Will definitely visit again.

When I review a raved Nouvelle Cuisine such as One Tree Grill, the expectation on quality, freshness, service and authenticity is sky high, and today, they did not disappoint. Thank you for the memorable experience.

Went here to celebrate my birthday and really enjoyed my experience. I'd call One Tree Grill a no frills fine dining experience. Their dishes are all on the "safe" side, but the flip side of that is there was no dishes that disappointed. Very cool vibe and fitout, I liked the ambiance. This next critique is largely personal, but I didn't like the fact that menus were tablets. Given how filthy phones are, should we really be sharing around tablets during a pandemic?

Easily my favorite restaurant, a perfect high end Auckland/Kiwi dining experience. Delicious, creative dishes with a grounded and very accessible menu, outstanding yet relaxed and understated service, and a great suburban location, it's no wonder One Tree Grill has been crushing it for decades. My only wish is that they bring back the crayfish bisque!

We had a fabulous experience here. Beautiful food and wine and lovely friendly service. I also really like the soft lights, comfortable seating and the windows opening out onto the tree-lined street. We can't wait to return!

Had the most amazing NYE experience here! Superb 3 course set menu. It was delicious from start to finish. The service was impeccable…. One Tree Grill will now become my “special occasion” restaurant.

From classic fine dining with a mixture of iPad menus, this place has got some wonderful spreads with delicious meats. We had a great waiter with a bit of down to Earth humour which really brought us into our comfort zones. Loved every moment dining here.

What an amazing experience! This is our first time at One Tree Grill and we loved it. Right from the time we entered, our steward Nick was ever so friendly and welcoming. We were surprised by a couple of lovely chocolate truffles for our anniversary. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere and ambience superb. We will definitely come back!!

One of the top dining experiences in Auckland. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. We had the 3 course menu. All the courses were incredible, especially the confit lamb belly for the entree. My mouth waters just thinking about it again. Had the beef eye fillet for mains which was cooked to prefection. We cannot wait for the next time we can dine here and highly recommend this place to all of our friends and family.

Straight-up the best place I have ever dined. Incredible service that was attentive without being intrusive, and the food was next level. The quality of the food was incredible with beautiful presentation.

Came back to this place after 2.5 years away from NZ..menu may look standard to the eye but food is exquisite. Service is great. Place is very elegant. Desserts beautiful Wines very reasonable , we had the saltram barossa Shiraz which was only 68 a bottle but it packed a punch. Vege dish (salt baked baby beets and butternut pumpkin agnolotti) were way over salted so msg to chef to back that off. Would come here again.

Great ambience, friendly and attentive staff, with delicious food that did not disappoint! Entree scallops were melt-in-your-mouth followed by juicy steak cooked to perfection! The dessert deliciously topped the palate off on a high! Definitely recommended!

Always a really good place to come to whenever I want to treat myself and the wife to a nice meal. We went for the degustation this time round and was not disappointed at all, although I felt the creation of the fish of the day was not quite there... the brown butter sauce and roasted tomatoes just didn't harmonize with the snapper). The service is always impeccable and the interior atmosphere really makes you feel quite relaxed to enjoy the food. Definitely one of the top restaurants in Auckland.

The food and the service at One Tree Grill are consistently excellent. They have a great drinks range and a good selection of wines by the glass. Well worth a visit.

Service where excellent and fully as to what you could wish for. The recommend wine, as to our request for a full body of red, where an excellent one. We started with the Scallops and the Lamb Belly. Totally outstanding as to our taste. Love it! As for our main we choose the Local Market Fish and the Lamb. The Lamb where served as to my wish, rare. Once again, I loved it! As for the fish it where cooked nicely, but, we didn't fancy the flavor of the sauce... So, nothing wrong with the cooking, just that it was just not as to our tasting. We also ordered a side dish for our main course and tried the Truffled Cos Salad. Also, this one where nicely done, but not as to our tasting. As for dessert we tried the Rhubarb and Custard. Not what I expected, but I did like it and finished it all. My personal conclusion would be that the flavor variation could be slightly off. It is either extremely good or it is somehow not right. Perhaps I wouldn't care so much if all dishes where somehow slightly off, but it stands out more when those other where so extremely good. If I visit Auckland again I will for sure return to One Tree Grill.

Came for a six course degustation lunch, each dish had lovely flavours, with beautiful food presentation. Prompt friendly service. Three entree dishes, a main and two desserts. So filling. Outstanding range of wines by the glass. Nice intimate surroundings- highly recommended.

A great local restaurant with friendly attentive service and sophisticated menu. Perfect for a intimate dinner or just a small celebration, they have an excellent a la carte option or a tasting menu, which are equally delicious. A very smart use of an iPad as a drinks menu means you can see/read what you are ordering so you know what to expect. They are one of the few restaurants outside of Auckland Central that does fine dining well and affordable.

Paul is THE BEST wait person I have ever come across . In this recent times when ppl think being behind a mask is literally being behind a mask of non engagement and perfunctory service , Paul shows us that genuine love of his job and his customers shows . He is such an asset to the great food at OTG. I hope management at OTG take note and reward him accordingly . Iwatched him be consistent to all the tables . I experience his service 3 times so far and because of him I’ll be back and recommend OTG to everyone ! Brava to someone who obviously prides himself on his excellence .here mediocrity does not rule and for that I give u 10 STARS !

Had a beautiful return to dining out at One Tree Grill last night. Perfect food and beverages. Excellent service and safety measures well and respectfully observed by staff and diners alike.

Went here for a business dinner. Its a very lovely restaurant, with beautiful decor and surroundings. Rather than a menu you have a iPad to which actually is pretty cool idea making it easy to see the menu and or touch on the different tabs for entree, main, dessert and drinks etc. We ordered pretty much most entrees to share as well as the mains to share. The entrees were amazing definitely the highlight, go for the scallops if can only choose one, yum, yum. The mains were fantastic, especially the pork and lamb, wasn't too sure about the ravioli quite over powering. Overall a beautiful restaurant for couples and or groups.

We've been to One Tree Grill before. And today's visit was just as awesome as always. This is a true fine dining place. Definitely book a table in advance as space fills up quickly. Street parking is available nearby. Then enjoy exquisite service. It starts with the menu which is a tablet. For each dish you not only get a picture but also suggestions for what drink, e.g. wine or beer, would work best with the dish. Staff is very friendly and helpful. As you'd expect for a restaurant at this level, service comes at the exact right time. Staff will not rudely interrupt your conversation: They have mastered the art of being present when you need them and leaving you alone when you don't. Food quality is fantastic. Depending on the season you may also be able to get specialties like Bluff oysters. If not, then just pick any of the other dishes, just any. They are all excellent and worth tasting. I've attached pictures of the salmon (entree), the duck breast (main) and the passion fruit mousse (dessert) to give you an impression. We'll definitely visit again for the next special occasion. Thank you to the entire crew for making this a wonderful evening!

Both our first time at this restaurant and it was amazing. I had the Lamb Belly (entree), Free Range Pork Belly (mains) and Tonka Bean Brûlée (dessert) and my partner had Seared Scallops (entree), Grass Fed Hereford Eye Fillet (mains) & Passionfruit Mousse (dessert). We also had the Brown Butter Potato Mash as a side dish - OMG this was the best Potato Mash ever. All dishes were wonderful, enjoyed them all, good serving sizes as well. The staff are very friendly & attentive. This is a great restaurant for that special occasion or if you just want to dine out and have a wonderful meal.

Got there on a friday afternoon (17:30) and they got a place for me to eat. The waitress was incredible nice and recommended a lot of stuff they had as special this day. The interior looks pretty nice, its more a higher class restaurant, so better dress appropriately. I had the angus steak and potatoes with sour cream. The steak was grilled very good, the chef knows how to cook it medium (maybe most people like it that way). But it was a bit soaky, and had a lot of fat. The sauce and the spices fitted perfect, so no complains about the steak in general.

High standards as always. They have recently changed the menu which makes me miss the old menu even more when they provided basic grill of meat for a simple quality meal. They get the basics right which is so important. Their food is consistently good, and so is their service.

My friends and I had the 3-course set meal, and we all agreed that it was the best food we've had in our whole holiday. We went to One Tree Grill for our pre Christmas family dinner on the 11th of December with our group of 10 people. The restaurant itself was very classy and our table laid out beautifully. The service was excellent and the food very delicious and to a goumet standard (the duck was slightly undercooked but otherwise delicious). We had a wonderful evening and I would highly recommend One Tree Grill to my friends.

This place is very delicious, and the food menu and wine menu are both very good. The ambience is perfect for dates and special occasions. The prices on the dishes are a little bit pricey, but worth it. Highly recommend for any special occasion.

Lovely treat evening out. Fabulous venue - from cocktails at the bar looking down into the cellar to lots of great spots around the restaurant to eat. Attentive wait staff, perfect recommendations - loved the beef fillet. The iPad menus were perfect and a great way to see our choices. And wow what a extensive drinks list!

One Tree Grill is one of the best restaurants in Auckland and it has been one of our favs for years. If you want solid good food, i would highly recommend. The restaurant itself and the service are always superb! We cannot wait to go back there again!

My favourite restaurant! The menu system is amazing, allowing you to view what your meal will look like, see all the ingredients and select the perfect wine or beer match through an ipad. The meal looks exactly as it does in the picture and is always delicious. It doesn't get any better. The staff are always great as well.

We were a table of 5 and received awesome service throughout. Meals were excellent, good size portions and well presented. We thought last years food, service, atmosphere was FABULOUS and they didn't disappoint this year. Ten out of ten, two years running. A professional dining restaurant, doing with a good foods with service, I love the steak, nice and juicy with mid-rare,and the dessert it is fashion and tasty.

This is the first restaurant that comes to my mind when I think about a special occasion. Everything about dining here is perfect. You get served by a huge smile as you walk in, hand them your coat and get seated. The convenience of their tablet menu. The atmosphere is luxurious, yet cozy and comfortable. I am a very picky eater myself, yet this is the only restaurant I’ll happily order the 6-course degustation menu, which has always been an amazing experience for my taste buds. Portion sizes are good for a fine dining restaurant. The amount of attention we get from the wait staff is just right. Obviously a costly meal, but well worth it. I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars!

One Tree Grill has been out favourite local place to dine for about 20 years- maybe longer- as we started eating there when it was one very small restaurant. We ate there last night- the staff are top notch and the food delicious- I had the lamb dish- so tender and lovely accompanying vegetables as well- delicious!

We were a disorganised bunch, booking for 15 but not everyone turning up then others turning up! The staff were patient, efficient and attentive to our every whim. We ordered from the set three-course dinner. This was amazing for everyone...beautifully cooked and presented - interesting flavours and combinations and decent portions....and they offer the best wine to go with every dish. This is the next day and I've told so many people already because you can bet on a fantastic meal in tasteful surroundings. We were celebrating a special occasion and this place totally supported the event for our family. Thanky you to all the staff.

Another Covid interrupted celebration was saved by an exquisite delivery dinner from One Tree Grill. Nearly as good as eating on site but either way the food is always superb - thankyou.

This restaurant must have the most consistent high quality food of any restaurant we eat at. Very few restaurants can produce time and time again. Its pricey no doubt about it but the experience is polished and the environment very pleasant. All 4 of us including 2 kids loved our food, lamb and steak for the kids, duck and lamb for the adults. If you are on the fence about this place, trust me, its great.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Auckland. Top quality fine dining and exemplary service. As the sister restaurant to Little Jimmies you get all the same quality with an added gastronomic flare to rival the CBD restaurants where paying twice as much isn't unrealistic. The exposed wince cellar beneath the bar is also a great touch.

Dined with friends at this lovely restaurant. A warm greeting at the door. Comfortable chairs, friendly and knowledgeable service with a comprehensive menu and wine list. We visited One Tree Grill for dinner on a Grabone voucher for the 6 course degustation menu. The food was outstanding but even more so was the humorous and charming service received from our French waiter Nick who made the evening so enjoyable, in fact, one of us appeared to find Nick and the food equally palatable. Thanks for an outstanding dining experience.

There are date nights and then there are date nights. We have a very short list of places for those special occasions. Especially if you want to make sure that your wife of many years and mother of 3 wonderful children understands that it is all about her and how much she is loved and appreciated. One Trill Grill never disappoints. The food, service and atmosphere make it an amazing experience. Great job to Tim and his team.

What wonderful Fine Dining experience we had last night. My husband, my elderly partially sighted parents and I were warmly welcomed at the door. I had asked for an easily accessible table and we had just that. Our waiter Max was most helpful and we enjoyed the friendly banter. Our head waitress was very professional and accommodating. We loved it when our meal was delivered there was an explanation of what was being served. The food was outstanding and top class. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and absolutely come back. I personally love Fine Dining, One Tree Grill lived up to and beyond my expertations.

An excellent place for a special occasion or just to enjoy being really well looked after. We know Sebastian’s food from The French Café so when we realised he was the chef now at One Tree Grill we were delighted as it’s even closer to home. All other aspects - wine, service, the easy to use IPad menus and the ambience ensure a wonderful experience. Love the fish tank!

We came as a group of 8 to celebrate a special occasion, and what a great night it was! The private room was a special treat, and made us feel like VIPs! The food, as ever, was amazing and was beautifully paired with the recommended drinks. Thank you for a wonderful night out!

Definitely a must every now and then or as your budget allows. Had the rib eye steak on the bone 🤤 was cooked perfectly with great service and perfect ambiance. Will definitely be back.

Our recent celebration with family and friends was a huge success thanks to the team at One Tree Grill. Planning the event was effortless with Tim & Brad willing and helpful with suggestions. On the night the food was amazing and our host Patrick ensured service was exemplary from start to finish. A memorable occasion.

Outstanding food and service. The staff are friendly, professional, efficient but unobtrusive. Cannot be faulted. Although a non-drinker with the extensive glass top underfloor wine cellar on show I would imagine you could not fail to find a suitable match. We were delighted to be given the private room which further enhanced the evening. It really is an exceptional experience so don't be afraid to venture to the suburbs!

Absolutely outstanding from being greeted and shown to our table to the wait staff's knowledge of the food and attention to detail, we could not fault this place if we tried. We had the valentines day set menu, which was fantastic the highlight for myself was the lamb belly with beetroot puree this was melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection, as were all the other dishes,. I highly recommend this restaurant there is a reason it has been around for a long time at the top of its game.

Just had the most amazing family dinner for my son's 21st. The food was exquisite and the portion size were just right. No request was too difficult - the staff were attentive without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a special meal - worth every penny

We always go to One Tree Grill for our special occasion dinners. The food and service is always amazing! This visit was no exception. The only thing that changed that I didn’t care for was the vinegarette dressing that they use on the cos salad. It used to be an amazing creamy dressing which was phenomenal. Minor league stuff! Highly recommend!

Lovely ambiance, friendly staff and delicious food! We always enjoy our meals here. Great place for all ages, as we noticed last night. Quiet enough to be able to talk easily at the table but not too quiet .. everything is always just right. We will be back.

Wonderful birthday meal. Everything was perfect, from the service, to the atmosphere and delicious food. My partner frequently talks about the wild venison tartare and how amazing it was. We look forward to visiting again!

Great evening with friends. The service was friendly and efficient with a menu that should cover most ‘tastes’. I had market fish (John Dory) which was prepared perfect and tasted superb. Our friends had a steak dish which was also to their satisfaction. A lovely wine from the extensive wine list made for an excellent evening.

Excellent food and atmosphere. We had the six-course degustation and it's every bit memorable. We like the scallops the most! We left dinner very full (thanks to the steak) but also wanting to try out the other dishes. Definitely a place to celebrate special occasions and worth returning to!

Summary: if you haven't been, you must. Good selection of beers, excellent selection of wine. Food was fantastic! Duck was amazing as was the perfectly cooked medium rear, rib eye, on bone steak. Moderate price, however large portion sizes. Service was perfect.

Wow...When I saw the menu I didn't know what i wanted to eat, the food was "foreign" to what i would normally eat. Nothing jumped out at me...I took a chance with the Duck Liver Parfait OMG I wanted more! I chose the snapper for my main and also got the Smoked Mashed Potato. I'm not a fan of cauliflower and wasn't intending to eat their cauliflower puree...however, I ate everything on my plate, the food was delicious, I left feeling satisfied...I look forward to my next visit...Highly Recommend, pays to book...

This restaurant is consistently good. Food is fresh and good quality without the fashionable fussiness of some but always well presented .the wine pairings make it easy to enjoy just a glass alternately the cellar is well stocked . A nice ambience unless to get the side annex which feels just like that , a long room without the genteel buzz of the main dining and in spite of the similar decor needs some clever to make it feel more connected . Quite ok for a larger private group but I wouldn’t want to be seated in this area if I was anything less than 6 guests . I recommend inside and the main restaurant .

Waiter was friendly, easy going, helpful and professional. Food was absolutely amazing. Some of the best lamb and duck we've ever had! Dessert was especially delicious and not your usual desserts or flavors.

We had the 6 course degustation dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A lovely meal made better by taking the option of a wine matched for each course. Great to try food and wines that we would not normally experience. The service was excellent. It all added up to a great night out.

My experience here (several months ago now) was mediocre. It is a favourite of my family and as such I have been to dinner here a few times. As the only vegetarian in the family, I found the menu to be extremely restrictive with very little in the way of vegetarian food options. In addition, the waiter was quite mocking about my lack of desire to eat meat, rather than offering any particularly good solutions. I ended up having a couple of entrees as my main, which was sufficient but I wouldn't call it a top notch experience. Every indication is that One Tree Grill is excellent if you are a meat eater, however.

Gorgeous food, and attentive, unobtrusive service. We had the degustation menu and every course was divine, the wine was perfectly matched, and the meal was expertly sized and paced. One Tree Grill well surpassed our expectations! We’ve been to a few of the top restaurants in Auckland, and if One Tree Grill isn’t on the list of top ten, then it should be.

We had a group of 13 celebrating a special birthday. We had a side room to ourselves. The service both before the evening (re menu and decorations) and during the evening was fantastic. The food and drinks were exceptional. we had a great night, and recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Thank you to the staff.

We have been to one tree grill a few times and have never been disappointed. Both food and service is excellent with a wonderful selection of wines. Always great to celebrate a special occasion here. In our opinion one of the best restaurants in Auckland.

Excellent food. Good service. Not always attentive but they also aren't in your face which I prefer. A steak here comes with a fine sauce and flavors and textures are carefully refined. Desserts also highly refined. The cost is higher than average but I always leave satisfied.

The atmosphere is good, would be better if there is light music. The steak is very well done and perfect. The bread was very fresh. But the Market fish was very average and the portion is small considering the price. The roasted potatoes are great but we don't like the chips. Overall, it's a nice restaurant but the price is a little bit high. I expect the food to be better with the pricing.

I went there for a work dinner. The place itself was tidy and well set out and the food was excellent. The staff were great and friendly also.

We dined at the restaurant for my friend’s birthday. This was our first visit to the restaurant. The service, atmosphere and food were outstanding. Food was excellent. Really good flavour combinations. Like the iPad menu with the pictures attached so you can see what you're getting. Nice ambiance. Waiter was attentive but not hovering which would be annoying. Parking can be tricky.

This is our favourite restaurant in NZ. The food is superb and the service is top notch.My husband said the rib eye steak is the best he has ever eaten and we have eaten well in lots of places worldwide. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly without being intrusive which I really like. The food is outstanding and beautifully presented.

Degustation menu was excellent and good value. $110 gave 6 dishes. Mains are surprisingly large for fine dining and satisfying. Service was great. Came here for my birthday party and would definitely come again.

The whole atmosphere in the restaurant lends itself to a most enjoyable evening. The great service by the staff sets the scene and the food prepared by the chef rounds it off. Every course was delicious.

So I went with my parents and my wife for Mother's Day. The food was excellent! And that was the opinion of a fussy eater in the group. Absolutely delicious! Especially with a set menu for Mother's Day. We had to wait for our table to be ready, but it was a comfortable wait. The service was patient and friendly (part of the group had difficulty hearing), and was always on hand to help us with any issues. It had a comfortably ambient atmosphere for such a busy day of the year, with friendly staff helping to make our visit very pleasant indeed. One Tree Grill is our go to restaurant for a fancy night out, and has always delivered on ever visit we have made. The only major issue is parking, but that is true for all the eateries in the area.

A very nice night out. I normally like my steak done medium rare, but the waitress suggested medium, so I thought I'd give it a try. Steak came out cooked perfectly, so kudos to the staff and kitchen for knowing their business! The lamb belly was delicious. We dined early on a Friday evening and avoided the rush, and received excellent service.

Great service and great food, we felt very well looked after. Restaurant was really comfy and clean, it was busy but could still hear each other. Well priced and the quality of the food meets the expectations. Would certainly recommend and will visit again. Definitely somewhere to go for a treat.

Ka rawe! What a fantastic 60th Birthday Dinner for my wife and whanau! Tim(Manager?) Samuel (Waiter), Nick(Chef) were amazing hosts. Anything was possible. Awesome!! Three Course set menu was ideal for our group of 13. The lamb rump was “pinky superb”. Our Elspeth Merlot and Cote de Rhone were an excellent match. My top of the list restaurant Xmas 2020! Yeehaa!!🥰😎👍😃👏❤️

The food was beautiful, well presented, if somewhat pricey. Service was very attentive and well judged. Just our mains took a little time to arrive after we'd finished our entrees. It was perfect for us to have the board room at the rear, so that it made it less noisy for our 90 year old mum.

Fantastic food with amazing wine pairing.

Great dining experience over all, not quite 5 Star (ideally I would give it 4.5). Food was wonderful, cooked perfectly (oh those smoked mushrooms... mmm). Service left a little to be desired, wait staff didn't keep an eye on the tables, so I had to walk to the bar when my wine order was forgotten, 1st world problems yes but I do expect more from a place like this. Overall wonderful and I would go again.

Had a great night at One Tree Grill last Saturday. We got there early and relaxed in the bar before the others arrived. Friendly and knowledgeable bar staff ensured we got exactly what we wanted from an extensive gin menu. On to dinner and the theme continued. Attentive, yet relaxed service came with a full explanation of the courses and the food lived up to the expectation. Beautifully presented and delicious. Dessert was the highlight for me, the passion fruit was spectacular and my partner was disappointed that there was none left to share. Shame!

Dined here for my birthday celebration. It was my first time here and I got to say the interior was really nice !! The waiters were very prompt. The steaks were cooked to perfection really enjoyed our meal~ I ordered the eye fillet I believe and everything was really good but for my taste I didn't enjoy the vinegary mushroom?? But thats probably personal taste. I would definitely dine here again!!

We came here on Saturday for our work Chrsitmas function for the second year in a row. We thought last years food, service, atmosphere was FABULOUS and they didn't disappoint this year. Being a vegetarian, I do not always have best experiences when it comes to eating out. But my experience at One Tree Grill was great - it was my first time. Entree, Mains and salad - all of the dishes were delicious. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend to you all :)

We love that this is a really lovely suburban restaurant and we don’t need to go into the city centre for beautiful food that is expertly presented. One of our ‘special occasion’ places and has never failed to deliver.

I had a meal at one tree grill this evening to celebrate my 60th Birthday with a friend I had the Oysters as an entree and the Duck as my main. The food was excellent as was the service being a Saturday the restaurant was busy but this did not have any effect on the Service, Food, or time it took to be served. even with the Restaurant being quite full you did not notice it. The Noise of the restaurant was very quite as you could not hear anyone near you talking at all which made the visit and meal very enjoyable indeed.

Every year for the past five years we come to One Tree Grill (OTG) on a double date with some close friends. Not once has it disappointed. A great selection of drinks to get your night started and an ever changing menu to keep us coming back to see what new delectable dishes that's been added. Will be going again next year.

There is nothing to fault about this place. Food, service, ambience is all perfect. Left the restaurant stuffed. Did not have room for dessert. The pork belly is amazing! And ofc the steak.

We were warmly welcomed right from the start. Service was excellent, and no trouble was too great to provide for my lactose intolerance. The food was awesome, from a varied, techno-savvy menu. The only shortcoming I can note is that dairy-free options on the menu are minimal - although, as I mentioned, this was covered for by customisation of dishes to suit. Highly recommended!

Excellent food and knowledgeable staff who know their wines.

All 4 meals were delicious; the service was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, and the hot chocolate was the pinnacle for 2 of us. Our subsequent visit was up to a similar standard, though for 2 of us the mushroom entree was disappointing - the brioche was soggy and the chargrilled leek was tasteless and did nothing for the mushrooms. The scallops were "divine" and the snapper and the pork belly were equally wonderful.

What a fabulous restaurant! Food was amazing, service was fantastic even though it was a really busy Saturday night. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top quality meal with wine to match. We haven't found anything better in Auckland of this type of cuisine. Will most certainly be back!

We recently celebrated my 50th Birthday at One Tree Grill. There were 9 of us and we requested the private room. I cannot praise this amazing restaurant enough - the food, service and ambience were absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for making the evening perfect in every way!!!!

We had a group of 3, sit close the street window, very good view to see one tree hill park. Service was excellent and fully as to what you could wish for. Ordered the venison and scallop for entree; market fish, duck breast, eye fillet for main; and banana and toffee as the desert. all of them were perfectly cooked. We should have ordered sides as they are all believed supervising, but we are so full after the main. Conclusion: if you haven't been, you must.

We had wonderful dinner at one tree grill for my birthday, and it's our 1st time tasted the dishes and wine. Food were beautifully presented. We love the ribeye steak as well as the rhubarb dessert very much. So yum. personally i prefer a little strong tastes, but light suits my partner's taste perfectly well. Overall satisfied. And recommended.

I never thought good could make you feel emotional until we went to this place. The food is like nothing we've had before. The service is amazing. A special thanks to Claire our waitress, she was so lovely and knowledgeable. We don't often go to fancy restaurants and she was so sweet when we obviously did not know much about the drinks (which were delicious). We will definitely be back for our next anniversary. Would give this more stars if possible.

9ur annual special place for anniversary. Booking online very easy with email confirmation and Google reminder on the day. Complimentary bread rolls wonderful. Nice choice of beer and wines. Mains were to perfection with good portions as sides. Deserts are just amazing so much flavour and great presentation.

After many years of hearing great things about One Tree Grill we finally tried it...WOW. Definitely worth the hype! The restaurant itself is beautiful with lovely furnishings, beautiful bar and stunning fireplace but it is the food that is the star of the show. We each had three courses with the recommended wine match which you can choose on the tablets provided (this also lets you look at a picture of your meal which is a brilliant idea) and I can easily say it is one of the best meals I've had in years. Lamb entree was cooked to perfection, eye fillet with ox cheek was meat heaven and hubby's pork belly was one of the best he's had. The desserts of banana with toffee and yuzu shortbread that we paired with dessert cocktails were out of this world...reccomend the Decadence cocktail for those that like chocolate and raspberry! The service was also top notch...informative and never felt intrusive. Can't wait to go back!!

The decor was really warm and comfortable - perfect for a winter meal! The iPad menus are really cool and easy to use, making a scan of the menu really simple. The food is DELICIOUS and the portion sizes are really good. We were expecting the mains to to be very small (as with most fine dining experiences) so my partner and I chose to share two extra sides. We were barely able to touch the sides - which were both sizeable and delicious themselves - because our mains were large enough. We shared the 53% chocolate dessert which was super good, although I preferred the taste of the main (I had the lamb). I will definitely be returning!

Heard so much about this place and it certainly lived up to the hype. After dining at many fine establishments around Auckland I would definitely say this is my favourite. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, a fine dining experience without feeling pretentious. Every course was a delight - I want to go back already!

Great night out on the 27th July for a family birthday, 8 people was perfect for the small private room. Claire did a great job welcoming us and providing a professional service. Food and drinks superb, especially Pironni ale on tap, lamb belly and steak. Only disappointment was the waiter who was hard to understand when describing the menu, could have introduced himself and been a bit more engaging? Reading out everyone’s choices out was ponderous and a bit embarrassing as English not so good. Still got 5 stars so well done.

Pleasantly surprised by the high standards of presentation, flavours and tastes of the food. People are friendly and had an excellent table. Great food, atmosphere & service!! Did the 5-course degustation tasting menu. Was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the produce and the techniques used on making the dish look so beautiful and inviting. The service was impeccable! Never far away from making sure that everything is in order. From when you step in the door to when you've left the grill, amazing experience! Great for romantic dates or just any special occasion! Glad that I didn't have to travel into town for such a great experience :-)

Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. I am allergic to beetroot and stupidly chose an entree and a main that had a bit of beetroot in them, I asked if they could do the dishes for me without the beetroot but they went one step further and replaced the beetroot with something else that made the meal exceptional (eg smoked mushrooms), I never expected them to do that and was absolutely stoked! Fantastic food and wine (not to mention their amazing wine cellar!) and love how the menu has photos and descriptions of everything. A great place to take guests visiting New Zealand.

Cannot rave enough about OTG - from first arriving to leaving you are made to feel special. Waiters were very attentive, but not intrusive - even the waiters (different) that brought out the food were smiley and friendly. We had the 6 course degustation, which wow what a great deal is all I can say! Food was excellent value for money (my favourite was the mushrooms!) and delicious down to the last mouthful. I have to mention the bartender as the "Decadence" cocktails he made were simply divine. I would recommend OTG to my friends and family anyday. Thanks again Team, keep up the great work

I attended our annual Christmas lunch with friends at One Tree Grill yesterday, and we all throughly enjoyed it. The service was great and the food was delicious. Beautifully presented meals that were a pleasure to eat. One Tree Grill is one of the top fine dining resturants in Auckland, and it deserves to have a 5/5 rating. Staff very attentive and the food divine. It was a double birthday celebration on the exact night of dining. Son and father born on the same day. My son and father were supplied with a delicious truffle with candle on a dish each at the end of the meal. Not asked for by any of the family and certainly unexpected so were delighted with the small gesture. However, when looking at the bill later we saw that we were charged for these. Please, don't provide a small thoughtful gesture and then charge for it!

Fantastic food and a wonderful location for a meal with family or friends. Very good service, starting from the booking process onward. Service was prompt, helpful and sincere during the meal. Pricey restaurant, but well worth it. The pork belly was amazing and the desserts sublime.

First time visitors and we were impressed - Fine dining in suburbia. Reservation was easy to make via email and promptly confirmed. Upon arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table, which was nice and cozy in the front of the restaurant - elegant / tasteful decor / relaxed vibe. Was impressed with the drinks menus on iPads for you to read up on but we were doing the wine matches with the 6 course degaustation / tasting menu. Wait staff were very professional and non intrusive. Love that they serve sparkling water in the bottle so that you can top up as you need to. Accommodating my gluten free requirement was no trouble and the dishes were perfect. Particularly we loved the venison tartare, crispy pork belly and eye fillet. All courses were perfect and we left feeling very full and would defineltly be back.

I had my first dining experience here around 2002! Hadn’t been in last couple of years but delighted to find it was excellent as always! Food, service, atmosphere perfect. Enjoy a ‘classic’ that is constantly and consistently reinventing itself.

Lovely restaurant and delicious food! My husband enjoyed the lamb and I had a great red snapper meal, and we both LOVED the roasted potatoes! Hayley, our waitress, was delightful! We highly recommend this restaurant in Epsom.

Excellent wine collection. Had the six course degustation menu, it’s very nicely done. However, I look forward to seeing more creativity and surprises from the chef as the culinary skills are impeccable.

Been here a few times and the standard is always very good. Recently we went with the degustation menu with matching wines. All the meals were well executed and went well with the wines. Amongst the dishes were a raw kingfish salad, scallops, venison tartare, a choice of fish, duck or steak and two dessert dishes. Service is always very good and they take you through each dish as you'd expect.

Brilliant service, delicious food ans very cosy ambiance. That is a winning combo for me!! We ordered the eye fillet and duck breast which are simply amazing, not just becauee of the quality of the meats but also for the accompanying ingredients. Wine selection is also good, with the Bannockburn riesling being a real highlight. Definitely will recommend to anyone!!

I took my partner to One Tree Grill for her birthday dinner. Both our first time at this restaurant and it was amazing. I had the Lamb Belly (entree), Free Range Pork Belly (mains) and Tonka Bean Brûlée (dessert) and my partner had Seared Scallops (entree), Grass Fed Hereford Eye Fillet (mains) & Passionfruit Mousse (dessert). We also had the Brown Butter Potato Mash as a side dish - OMG this was the best Potato Mash ever. All dishes were wonderful, enjoyed them all, good serving sizes as well. The staff are very friendly & attentive. This is a great restaurant for that special occasion or if you just want to dine out and have a wonderful meal.

What an amazing dining experience! From walking through the front door to leaving after dining we felt like valued customers every step of the way. Staff were attentive, informative and polite. Menus on iPads that show what the dishes look like left no guessing when ordering. Food was incredibly well presented and every mouthful as delicious as the one before. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

We recently had an excellent dining experience here. It was my second visit, but my partner's first, who immediately liked the ambience. We found the lighting to be perfect, and the iPad menus are fantastic - my partner likes when there are pictures of the dishes, and we both appreciate the use of regular words (rather than replacing the names of ingredients with French or Italian words just for sounding more fancy). The food was superb: We started with the Aged Cheddar Gnocchi and had the Hawke's Bay Lamb and Market Fish for our mains with the Roasted Potatoes and Beetroot Salad as sides. My partner found the fish a bit salty, but to me it was just right. All the other dishes were simply fantastic, especially the Roasted Potatoes. The waiters were knowledgeable, friendly and also had very good timing. All in all highly recommended!

One Tree Grill is our local restaurant of choice and did not disappoint when we had dinner there on Thursday. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, with recommendations about what to choose from the new winter menu. The wine list is extensive and it's an interesting experience walking over the cellar. The tablet menus are fun to use. I am already looking forward to our next visit.

A fantastic dining experience (as always). I'm quite simple when it comes to food, I like steak cooked medium rare which is what I probably would have ordered had the staff not intervened and recommended the duck. I've had duck before (from Chinese takeaway shops), but this was something else. And because of that every other time I plan to dine at One Tree Grill I would be trying something different (that's not to say their steak isn't good because I've had that before too). The helpfulness of the waiter, the fast service, delicious food, and atmosphere made for a 5 star evening. Thanks and keep up the good work, I shall be back soon.

If I was going to be critical, It would have been nice to have the birthday acknowledged in some token way (mentioned at time of booking) but it didn't spoil the overall enjoyment. Wow! The restaurant was almost full on a mid week evening and now, having eaten there, we understand why! Although busy the restaurant felt intimate and peaceful with expert staff on hand delivering well timed and knowledgable service. The food was supreme: we had the Tasting Menu of six courses. Even though we were using a voucher we weren't made to feel second class to other diners in any way. The food and its presentation was modern and sophisticated with flavours to die for (the lamb!!! the lemon dessert!! I could go on!!) We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be returning.

What an amazing experience! Around 10 of us went for a 50th birthday and the birthday lady felt so special. It goes without saying we were treated extremely well. The food was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful! Would recommend to anyone!!

I was visiting Auckland with family when I visited One Tree Grill. While I do find the name a bit cheesy/punny - everything else about this restaurant is legit. We did the six course degustation which cost 120 per person. Decor was very nice, awesome ambience with lively feel. Each dish was well crafted with adventurous and powerful flavours. Only recommendation would be to slightly reduce the duration between courses, I found them a tad too long. I would absolutely recommend trying One Tree Grill if you're looking for a fine dining experience - to the team, thanks so much for a memorable night!

I highly recommend One Tree Grill to anyone that likes fine dining! The best parts that stood out for us were the staff, generous portion of the main and the dessert. It was dad's birthday so my husband and I took my parents for their first experience of the tasting menu at One Tree Grill. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff were really friendly and professional. They would introduce every dish as they come through which just makes it sound and taste better! Also once they knew that I am pregnant, they proactively provided alternatives so that it's safe for me to enjoy the food without worrying. We would definitely go back again! Group booking, great service. Ordered the lamb belly for entree, pork belly for main. Both were perfectly cooked. Desert was banana and toffee...would not order again. Was like eating muesli and cream cheese...wasnt pretty to look at.

This review concerns dinner on Wednesday 4 July 2018. The diners are a middle aged couple, a bit particular. We arrived just a few minutes earlier than our booked time and were seated within two minutes. The restaurant appeared busy but not overwhelmed. Service was invariably quick but never rushed. Our starters (venison tartare; Bluff oysters) and mains (lamb roast; duck breast) were beautifully presented. The ingredients were explained on the spot by the waiting staff in a few seconds - succinctly enough that we could appreciate the information rather than feel impatient. SWMBO advises that she would have preferred that her lamb be cooked just a wee bit longer, but this was not a real issue. Both of us devoured and thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains. The wine list contains a great number of pricey drops that our humble palates would never appreciate, but our chosen South Australian GSM was not only reasonably priced but also a perfect match for our different meats. Once again, well done!

Where do I start? Expectations were high, as I had heard nothing but praise - and they were completely exceeded. The staff were understanding and accommodating of our problems with Auckland traffic. The food was sublime. We had the venison carpaccio and raw kingfish and couldn't fault either dish - not that we were trying to. The flavour combinations were superb. The rib eye on the bone was cooked to absolute perfection. And my pork belly was meltingly soft - with the best crackle I have ever had. The attention to detail from the staff was above and beyond and made our 21st anniversary celebrations truly memorable. I can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much for a fabulous evening!

The manager of One Tree Grill sent me an email asking me to write a review. Normally I disregard these types of notices, but I'm taking an exception here because of the all around exceptional meal I had earlier this week at One Tree Grill. To start off, the waitress recommended Bluff Oysters, and frankly I was skeptical since I live in New England, which has some of the best oysters anywhere. I was quite surprised not only at the quality of the oysters but great taste as well. Many restaurants don't take care to properly prepare their oysters, but every single one of these slid quite easily off the shell and the light vinegar they had to go with them was exquisite. I know that oysters is a silly thing to harp on about, but it was a positive sign for the rest of the meal. My next course was lamb belly prepared with a deconstructed sag paneer. The skin was cooked to a nice crisp and the lamb was seasoned really nicely and the texture had a little firmness to it but it wasn't chewy. I loved how the sag didn't stand out but with some toasted cashews nicely complimented the lamb. The paneer was just seared enough and unlike other deconstructed foods, I felt this captured the essence of sag paneer while also playing a good second fiddle to the lamb. My main course was the pork belly. I'm still dreaming about the skin. I thought Vermont does poor better than anyone, but One Tree Grill outdid them. The fermented apples that came with the pork belly were great, and the mouthfeel really highlighted the great contrast between the skin the the soft and fatty belly. The desert was a creme brullee with accompaniments I can't quite describe other than to say that they were complimentary to the creme brullee and not overly sweet. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I did enjoy the Hefeweizen and alcoholic cider they recommended as pairing with my meal. I don't know why this isn't a Michelin starred restaurant, as the attentive service, ambience and great food held their own against the handful of Michelin one star restaurants I've tried.

Highly recommended this place! Food was great and service was excellent! We had our wedding lunch there, small group and everyone was very happy and enjoyed. Will definitely go back and introduce to friends.

One Tree Grill served an outstanding meal in a comfortable yet elegant dining room. All ingredients were wonderfully fresh and deliciously prepared. I haven't found anything better closer than Gordon Ramsey's Maze, in London.

My wife and I have been there 5 times over the last few years. Our last visit was faultless. Excellent service and excellent food at a great price. Do not hesitate to go there for your next night out.

Had the 6 course degustation. Second best one I've had. All rated a 8 except for the scallops and the orange chocolate dessert which were a 9. Atmosphere was good. Was full but could still have a good conversation. Wait staff were lovely. Highly recommended.

I dined here a couple months ago for a birthday celebration table for 4. I liked the digital tablet menus and the food was very nice. The atmosphere is very “white table cloth” and not the most lively but again, food was delicious.

Great experience. Loved the ipad menu's with photo's and wine pairing notes. Wish they had at least one classic desert choice done differently- a brownie or a cheesecake but more special. Also would have loved an appetizer.

This place is a gem to have on our doorstep and I can’t believe it took us 5 years to finally try it. We always thought if we had a chance to go out for a nice meal, we should head towards the city or Ponsonby for a meal. Now, we realise we don’t have to do this anymore. One Tree Grill is well worth returning to and we will definitely be back. It was a really lovely birthday dinner despite having the child in tow. Staff were fantastic( knowledgeable, warm, polite and utterly professional), food amazing - the whole experience was very enjoyable. I can’t adequately put into words how good the place felt upon walking in- such a calm, relaxed ambiance. The fire was the icing on the cake.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here last week. It was warm and cosy on a chilly drizzly night. The fire makes it lovely and warm and adds to the overall ambience. Food was great. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at One Tree Grill this week. The duck and pork were lovely, but I was disappointed that there wasn't any salmon on offer, or creme brulee . I preferred their previous menu choices.

Wonderful, as ever. Perfect for a birthday celebration, OTG is one of only a dozen restaurants in Auckland with truly international standard cuisine, though with largely locally sourced ingredients, of course. It's not inexpensive, but you can pay a lot more for a good deal less quality and service in this city. Highly recommended, and a good wine list.

No doubt the food was 5 stars, never actually tasted food as sophisitcated, and of high standard as at OTG. One small issue was the waiting time for our main and 3rd course, (We waited just under 40 minutes after finishing our 3rd course for our main). To me, for what we or others would have paid for the food you would expect the waiting time to be less, it kinda felt like they were teasing us since we tried the first few courses. Anyway, really great experience, opened up my mind to a new higher standard of food.

One Tree Grill is my favourite fine dining restaurant in Auckland. I've eaten here many times and the food has always been delicious and the service is impeccable. I've never been disappointed here. Full marks!

Amazing dinner experience at One Tree Grill for our last night in New Zealand. We made the reservation a month in advance online and selected the restaurant based on reviews. There was plenty of street parking near the restaurant and the drive from the Sky City area took about 20 min with light traffic. We walked in and love the ambience -- clean lines, modern, and not too loud/not too quiet. We were seated immediately and greeted by a wonderful server. The menus were on iPad minis -- each course suggested a wine pairing, which was really cool. I also liked that if you selected a certain dish, you would see a full size picture of the meal. We had scallops to start and had duck and pork for dinner. We also enjoyed Pinot Noir (suggested selection for the duck). We finished with the meyer lemon curd and chocolate truffle desserts. Every course was delicious and the portions were perfect. The service was very gracious and warm. Our server even offered to call us a taxi if needed. We were so happy to end our wonderful trip to New Zealand on such a high note. We highly recommend One Tree Grill to travelers and locals.

Four of us visited this restaurant in the evening of 9 Dec. We were welcomed very pleasantly and altogether found the service most helpful. The food was excellent, possibly even improved from our last visit some 2 years earlier. All four of us were most impressed.

The meal and service were fine, almost the finest. However after three goes trying to navigate the restaurant's online booking tool - and I mean it really is a tool - I gave up. It dead -ended me when I clicked the wrong button and when I reloaded the webpage out of frustration, I found the time I tried to book was no longer available. Not so I found, as a phone call solved the problem when talking to a real live person. Dump your web ''tool'. On a tasting note, I found the food delightful and service immaculate, thank you.

We had lunch at One Tree Grill last Friday and were so impressed with the quality and friendliness of the staff, from the welcome to our waiter, and the food was excellent. We had been there for dinner a couple of months ago and had the same very high standards. A wonderful place for a high quality night out.

There is free (P120) parking on the surrounding streets also. Thinking of dining at One Tree Grill? Do it! I’d be very surprised if you were disappointed.

One Tree Grill is an Auckland legend when it comes to fine dining experiences, long term staff that are superb people and extremely knowledgeable, accompanied by food that is as good as it gets. This has kept me coming back for years to this restaurant and still in 2015 is simply hard to beat. I still believe this is to be one of the top 5 in Auckland.

The food at One Tree Grill is DIVINE - beautifully presented and made to perfection. Love, love, love this place. The flavour combinations work very well. I personally love the ora king salmon, the pork belly and the cookies and white chocolate. The ultimate cherry on the top of OTG is the wait staff. The woman who waited on us last night (tall, blonde, slim) was simply brilliant - very attentive, friendly and helpful. My partner and I had experienced a difficult day and walked into our reservation with the weight of the world on our shoulders. She put us at ease and together with the delicious food made our night.

I'm a OTG regular, the reason why i keep coming back (other than being in my neighborhood) is that it is consistently excellent. The quality and presentation of the meals are hard to beat, wine list is exceptional and the staff are nothing short of the best around Auckland. OTG is simply as good as it gets in Auckland, its an institution for dinning in this great city.

Our party of 8 enjoyed a 4 course degustation dinner this week. From the moment we entered the restaurant till our departure we had great attentions and service. Three of us matched wines with the courses and were very impressed by the knowledge and explanation of the chosen wines and the reason they complemented the foods. Our waiter took time to ensure that we were happy with the selection and checked afterwards to see that the wine had matched up. The Pork Belly with parsnip, cider apple sage & onion with crackling accompanied by Paritua Pinot Noir was an outstanding choice by 5 in our group. The thyme flavoured agria potato chips were an absolute hit though the other two side dishes were pretty good too! There were several larger groups in the restaurant at the time but this did not detract from the service we received or the delivery of our food and drinks Congratulations One Tree Grill, job well done, our Anniversary Dinner was fabulous.

Good food, impeccable service, great cellar, cosy yet modern interior, and it's kid friendly. Ideal for small groups, large groups (private dining room), families or a romantic dinner for two. The celeriac and artichoke soup with truffle oil was faultless and delicious. The $85 crayfish was underwhelming, lacking even a lick of flame grilled flavour and accompanied onlyby a rather flavourless herb butter and hollandaise - not enough love to do service to such high quality produce. It was enough to knock 1 star off from an otherwise 5 star dining experience.

Excellent place to eat, was my first time with me and my girlfriend and we both thought it was amazing. We had a great table in the front of the restaurant looking out upto one tree hill. The service was fantastic and the food was out of this world. It looked so good i didnt even want to ruin it. Reccomend the Rib eye steak, cooked to perfection, i didnt want it to end. Great place, definetly reccomend!!

Based on previous excellent experiences, we chose One Tree Grill for a 90th birthday celebration with 12 guests. On OTG's advice, we opted for their set menu. The diverse range of guests' needs around duration and appetite required a 2 course menu which OTG were happy to provide. The result was a superb meal appreciated by all, within a short time-frame, and allowing the event to continue elsewhere. Awesome food, wine and service!

Absolutely love OTG. I have dined here a quite a few times and never has this place disappointed me. I even said to my dining partner that we could fall in love eating such good food and just the overall dining experience that OTG gives. I went a few days ago during the week and they have twiked their menu and have opted to take 'off the block' off their menu which I had a discussion with the waiter about this as that is usually how I would order and I vote they bring it back! It is no way confusing to read off an A La Carte menu and other option of meat of your choice with sides. Anyway, highly recommend this place and service has always been fantastic every visit I make and I am such a foodie that I can surely judge a good place to the most average and this is a winning one! Great work OTG. 10/10.

I've been wanting to come here for sooo long. Finally came in tonight with my friend for an early birthday dinner. We had a six course degustation and everything was outstanding. The food and staff were great. I will be back.

Great food as usual, always like going to One Tree Grill for dinner. I took the kids this time and I felt that there meals weren't that big and my kids are small eaters as well they kept on ordering more bread. That is a little thing but all and all love going to OTG. Thanks

Had dinner there just before lockdown. We had a great time service was very good as was the food. Hope they come out of the lockdown restrictions ok, because we are looking forward to going back .

went to OTG for my mother's 96th birthday. I had asked for a quiet warm table with good chairs (Mum has a bad back) and that is exactly what I got. Food and wine choice wonderful and my mother's dessert came with a birthday candle. Waitress charming and knowledgeable about both food and wine with just the right amount of "table presence". Not sure about use of tablets instead of written menus but can see the advantage when choices become not available on the night. There are possibly better restaurants in Auckland but a nearly full OTG was spot on last Wednesday. Hence 5 stars.

Literally a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. I loved this restaurant and the food was incredible. It is expensive but I'd say it was worth it. I'd go again. Also the staff were so friendly and attentive.

Our experience was middle of the road, we thought the restaurant was beautiful and our waiter was very attentive we just thought the food was overpriced and quite ordinary, nothing special about the gnocchi this was served with very tough raw kale which was hard to eat, probably won't come back and priced over $300 for lunch.

The food was marvellous. The dining experience tranquil. The staff, highly knowledgable and polite. Loved everything about this place but you get what you pay for-top top restaurant

Hubby and I celebrated an anniversary six course dinner at One Tree Grill this week, a gift from a friend. With a six month old at home we don't get out much these days, so prefer to made it worthwhile when we do. OTG certainly delivered. Service was excellent, each dish was divine and the atmosphere was busy yet imtimate. Only change I would make is our wi e selection. We'd certainly return.

The biggest issue is choosing what to have. Been going to One Tree Grill since it opened and each time I can't choose as I know everything is great. My husband solved the problem in regards to deserts - he got two!

My parents have always loved OTG. In the past few years my partner and I have started going there and the food (pork belly!!) and service are consistently outstanding. Love the iPad menu as well.

I had mushroom ravioli which was just an ok dish. I thought the pasta was a bit overworked. The sides we had beetroot salad and green beans was nice...enjoyed it much!

I've been to many restaurants in Auckland since 1996 and none beats the quality and standard at OTG in service, in meals, in ambiance and surroundings, and in wine. Exquisite fine dining at it's best, I don't bother dining anywhere else in Auckland now. My family are regulars here. One Tree Grill makes everywhere else look like Denny's.

It's hard to express how wonderful it is to get great service, but these guys know exactly what that is, always there and never there, we had the Degustation which was amazing in itself, but the wine match was something else! Get there! Now!

Perfect place. Attentive friendly waiting staff. Stunning food. Had the whitebait sandwich entree, eye fillet main and rhubarb and custard dessert. The desert is totally divine.

We have fancied a dinner at One tree Grill for a long time. At last we were there for a 6-course degustation dinner. Ora King salmon, seared scallops & lamb belly came as entrées. Salmon was interesting with wasabi, etc., scallops were nice, but lamb belly was not seasoned evenly. I had eye fillet with ox cheek, shiitake & pumpkin - tasted good but slightly over-salty. My wife had market fish (snapper) with spanner crab - fish was lovely but crab meat was overwhelmed by the sauce. Desserts were Meyer lemon curb with frozen yogurt, blackberries, vanilla & sherbet & 53% chocolate with passion fruit, hazelnut & freeze dried raspberries - too much sourness instead of sweetness. Sorry to say, on the whole, it was a good dinner but without any surprise.

Just charming. Lovely setting, beautiful food, great service and so nice not to have to trek into the CBD. Somewhere I enjoy every single time I visit and can't wait to return again soon

Ambiance and food (especially the steak) are superb. The only downside is the parking in front of it, only 60 minutes, had to find another street side parking when the main course was served.

This place lived right up to our expectations. The food, the ambience and wait staffs service was nothing but top class. Highly recommend this place. A bit expensive but what you get on your plate coupled with service, I think it's absolutely worth it.
