Reviews of Orbit 360° Dining

Obviously it's a great view. We dined at 7.30pm which was good timing for sunset. The service was impeccable and the set menu had a great range to choose from. Very impressed and will definitely be back. It was my mums 60th and I had left a booking note about it, not expecting anything but when they brought out dessert they had added a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on her plate. Such a lovely thing for them to do. The prices aren't astronomical for what you're getting, worth a visit at least once.
A.
The scallops were so delicious I just wish there were more than 2 on the plate! The south island lamb rack was sooo tasty, and the beach pebble desert was an experience on its own. Was so quiet during the day the food was on the table within 20 minutes or so and service was great from all the staff. We were not disappointed dining here. For the whole experience, from the constantly changing view, to the delicious food.
H.
We enjoyed our dinner at Orbit. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. The stunning 360。view was what we were there for but the tasty food was also mind blowing. The plating is always elegant and colorful. It was a great place to enjoy the food and the view at the same time.
A.
An absolute highlight! The service and food was perfect and the views amazing. Treat yourself to a nice night out, you will not regret it.
I‘d also recommend timing your viewing of the Sky Tower to be at sunset, so that you can enjoy your dinner over the city night lights! Five star experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
M.
This place is all about the views. Beautiful views. My star rating is more to do with the food. The food is well presented but some of the dishes lacked flavour. The steak was the highlight - cooked perfectly and so tender, followed by the pork belly. I'd be back only to show an out of town guest the views of Auckland City.
A.
Best place in Auckland to celebrate one's birthday with the family. Superb experience for all. We are a family of 11, 7 adults and 4 children ages 9, 6, 4 and 3. We did have a great two hours. Kudos to the staff of Orbit 360. You are doing great. Kiddo loved so much the chicken menu. 👍👌

If you are wanting to treat yourself, this is the place to go! Situated at the top of the Sky Tower, Orbit 360 is a revolving restaurant which gives you the best views of Auckland and surrounds. You can get into the observation deck for free when you make a reservation in the restaurant. I would suggest going up to the observation deck to watch the sun set (magical!) and then head over to the restaurant for dinner. I ordered the steak and prefer mine well done (I know, I know!) and it was cooked to absolute perfection - still juicy and tender - one of the top best steaks I've had in New Zealand to date. The desserts were fabulous and not overly sweet - a really good balance and a sight for the eyes - really beautifully presented. I have been here twice already and it certainly is not the last!

The Orbit 360° Restaurant is a Fabulous Experience, Set Dinner Menu has something for everyone, Compliments to the Chefs, Beautiful food, presented with style! Delicious Cocktails 🍸
Awesome staff, our server Arden was perfect!
y.
Great view with outstanding food
However due lockdown cldn’t go to the Viewing floor, but overall good anniversary restaurant place to go with fair price.
R.
Haven't been here in a while, and in 2021 (July) the standard and quality of food was excellent. There is no place in Auckland that consistently delivers great views, excellent service, and value for money like the Orbit restaurant. I am definitely coming back soon, and will do more to support this establishment. Great place to take the kids too. Weldone to Orbit restaurant 👏
J.
Amazing place to have a delicious meal in Auckland.
The view is stunning, seeing the lights of the Sky tower change from within it is a really unique experience. The slow rotation gives you time to enjoy the view. It was about one rotation every hour or so.
We had the weekend set menu which was fantastic. The portions didn't seem massive but we both couldn't finish our mains because we were so full. All of the food was delicious and looked beautiful.
The cocktails may have been the star of the show for us. Not only did they look great served in their unique glasses, they had such depth of flavours and smells. Will definitely return!
T.
Absolutely stunning view, best in New Zealand by a mile. Food was exquisite and having 3 courses for $85 was a great deal. Looking forward to going again in summer so we can see the skyline during sunset. Would highly recommend to all - locals and visitors
A.
Awesome View food and great service!
We had the fixed menu 3 course meal on a Friday night for $85 per person. The meals were filling and very well presented. View was also spectacular as we were lucky to get some great weather. Will definitely be dining here again.
T.
It offers an impressive view of the entire Auckland City! Foods & service are pretty good 👍
S.
Always a good experience when I come to Orbit. Been here twice now and food is great. Gui, our waiter was very good with his service and was super professional while looking after us as well as others. A few of the other waiters or staff that were helping delivering our food did not look very happy. It was getting quite busy at the time and they looked tense where they forgot their smiles and looked like they didn't want to be there. Overall though, enjoyed my time there.
S.
The experience was above our expectations. The setting was amazing and the service was outstanding without being intrusive. The food was really well presented. Kids set menu was also appreciated. The Beach Pebble dessert was impeccable with delicate complimentary flavours that I will have to go back for. Fabulous setting for a celebration.
M.
Had a wonderful dinner. Great service and we enjoyed all the dishes! The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Last time I went was a few years ago. The food was disappointing like you'd normally expect at a busy tourist spot, mediocre yet pricy. But this time, things are completely different and I would love to visit again!
(The only thing I'd suggest is to take out some butter/oil from the salmon dish as it's already a very rich fish)
T.
The Hei-Tiki Bonfire is our highlight of the night. All mains are awesome plus breathtaking view. We should have asked for medium rare for the lamb rack instead of medium. Lovely date night for my sister and her soon-to-be B ❤️ I’m the third wheel
R.
Orbit Dining will be a wonderful experience if you want to enjoy a breathtaking view while having your meal. The restaurant will be slowly turning in circle and you will be able to see the beautiful, outstanding full view of Auckland. It is definitely worth the try.
I admire how they display the food. Every dishes got this very artistic, elegant, and fine dining vibe to it. But the taste was just above average. I ordered the medium rare beefsteak but it turned out to be somewhere between well cooked to medium well which is pretty much of a let down. If you’re a beefsteak lover, you know what I mean.
The highlight of our dinner was the desserts. They were very delicious. Even though I don’t like sweet things, Orbit Dining’s dessert got my heart. If you are planning to visit this place, you must try out their desserts.
Overall, Orbit Dining was a great experience to me and it will be definitely worth the shot if you want to have great time enjoying how beautiful Auckland City is from the top of Auckland’s heart. But don’t expect too much from the food. At the end of the day, we are actually paying for the view, the location, and the ambience that they provide.
S.
Been here a couple of times now and the food has always been amazing. It's a 3 course meal. Staff are very friendly. Love it here, will definitely return again. Bonus that we went during the Auckland Anniversary weekend as there was a light show on the side of the harbour bridge. We went on the Saturday but apparently on the Sunday they were going to have fireworks as well. You can go the main Observatory level 51 before dining at the Orbit on Level 52. The lift is also a great experience as most sections are glass so you can see outside.
E.
A wonderful night with Wifey taking in the sky high views of Auckland 🤩🤩
.
We went to visit Orbit 360° @skycityakl 👍🏼
.
Set in the tower, 52 levels high - the restaurant rotates slowly to give you a constantly changing 360° view of Auckland city. The night lights looked amazing and seeing the bridge in the distance was cool too 😎
.
For food we ordered:
• Duncan Pāmu Venison Loin with Malt Whiskey Jus
• South Island Lamb rack with rosemary jus
• Potato mash - with chicken gravy
• Roast Mushrooms with garlic and herb butter
• **something something cauliflower something something** 😂😂
.
The food was decent but seemed to take a passenger seat to the views. It's not bad but just found our meats a tad overcooked. Flavours were good though and service was fast. Aand the, i completely forgot what they cauliflower soup dish name was called haha 🤣😅🤣😅
.
Enjoyed the experience and the views, that part was great 👌🏼
M.
Absolutely fabulous. When we can in, it was fairly busy, so it took a moment to be seated, but the staff made sure we knew they were working quickly to get us seated. Service was amazing and prompt, and they made sure we felt taken care of. Most importantly the food was devine. We ate the 3 course set menu and the staff made sure to review allergies and we left feeling very well fed. I'm very happy we chose this place to celebrate our anniversary.
M.
We had an amazing 25th Anniversary and New Year’s Eve dinner here last night. The restaurant was busy, of course, by the waiters and staff were still very friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make our experience special. The menu had multiple options, including vegetarian options. I had the crayfish as an appetizer, and the red snapper as an entree, and both were excellent! I had expected substandard food quality (like cruise ship dinner food..), but we were pleasantly surprised! We arrived before sundown, and were able to see the city in daylight, watch the sunset, then see the city lit up after dark. I would definitely recommend that sort of time schedule for your reservation. It was perfect! We will be sure to eat here again when we return to Auckland
R.
We went for our daughter's birthday. And the food was ok . Kids portions are huge but ... while the chips were great the chicken was realy dry and salty .the tuna was very nice but the salad was lacking and again with our mains, the steak was cooked beautifully but the rest was trying hard and not succeeding. Its a shame that this is the third time its been like this . Its so close to being great food. hopefully next time it will be .
L.
Wonderful view amazing food and brilliant service from Uri. Must do.
E.
Went here with my husband got a luxurious night out and was not disappointed!
The staff were attentive to our needs and very friendly, while the food was cooked and presented to perfection.
It is pricey, but well worth the unique dining experience, I would definitely recommend this place for after-dark dining.
C.
I had the chicken. It was delicious.. great atmosphere. The kids had a ball.. only because they had their own table. Seating is limited to only 8 max per joined tables. Overall great experience.
H.
Loved the new menu, food were amazing and delicious. Great service, stunning view, perfect for any occasion!
O.
Stunning view, amazing foods and look beautiful (it’s a 3 course meal on Friday night), great service, we really had a wonderful night 🤩🥳😋
K.
Great night, great view, lovely staff, delicious food
K.
Dined a few weeks back with two friends and had a great experience. Service was okay but the food was super yum, great cocktails and beautiful views. Hoping to go again sometime soon
C.
Spectacular view. We got the 3 course menu $85 adult and $30 child. Great food, we'll definitely come back!
G.
Even if it means booking months in advance just to dine here on a fireworks night like Guy Fawkes, it'll make the endless view even more unique. We got to rotate around at least 2-3 times and enjoy the sunset followed by the twinkling buildings, roads, are cars out to the horizon. Our server was measured and calm, not rushing us for quicker turnover like other tower restaurants we've been to, and if anything he apologised for delay in getting the main but with the view we weren't worried at all. Had matching wines with the mains and a couple of sides, and all around was pretty good although little things like my potatoes and asparagus were slightly under cooked. The fish was surprisingly better than the steak actually. Lastly, don't forget that your reservation gives you access to the observation deck too!
S.
Great food. Stunning view. Service was good but parking a nuisance.
C.
Absolutely fabulous meal, fantastic waitress who made the whole night perfect! Highly, highly recommend going to dinner there. Best meal we have ever had out.
J.
Excellent experience. We were attended to very well. Our waiter was new to food service having transferred that day from drinks and was on a learning curve but did very well. Keen to go back.
L.
The food was good, came very fast. But too expensive for the little dishes. In my opinion could have salt and options as balsamic, tabasco or pepper, olive oil on the table. The restaurant was very calm, and they offer a 2 seats table. I didn't ask for change, but will be nice seat beside my husband to enjoy the same view. The dessert was amazing.
C.
This is a very pleasant place with incredible views. The food is really good! Everyone loves it and the customer service is really great. We all had a great time here.
D.
Absolutely loved it. Myself and the family enjoyed all our dishes. Would definitely return to this restaurant in the near future
R.
Our waitress was lovely and the food was delicious definitely worth paying for, also parking was easy too and cheap.
F.
Im not quite used to fine dining taste however the food had great a balance of flavours that made it an enjoyable meal. Food wasn't too sophisticated or too rich. The dessert was a chocolate cake that was rich but the sweetness of the strawberries and ice cream really balanced the taste. Im giving 4 stars only because I did find a piece of hair in my entree, but otherwise, excellent food service.
G.
This has got to be up there with the world's most impressive settings for a superb dining experience. The views over the City of Sails (Auckland) were simply stunning. Service was outstanding and the food fresh and tasty.
d.
Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Delicious food and good selection of wines. The staff were friendly and helpful. Staff made a special birthday with chocolate gifts. Also the view is spectacular
I.
Enjoyed lunch with a good view - make sure to book on a clear day.
Lunch was surprisingly good - there is the option of a two course lunch for $55 - either one entree and one main, or one main and one dessert. Recommend the roast duck entree, fish or chicken main, and dark chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet dessert.
Service was a bit slow. Had to wait a while before each dish was served, even for the bill to come.
V.
Personally I dislike rotating dining rooms. Makes my stomach churn the wrong way. Objectively though this is a wonderful place to go. Free entry to the observation deck so it's a 2for1 kinda event. If you were going to see the tower you might as well grab a bite. $40 min per person for dinner. Food is well prepared and delicious. Not a huge range of choices but each one done well. Deserts were all exceptional. Meat can turn up overcooked... or undecooked.
w.
This was good! Very good! I had expected a SERVICE STATION styled sandwich that had been laying in the fridge for a week as they serve on many places like this. A rip off.
So I was very pleasantly surprised, nice setting and even though I was there for brunch they served food from the dinner menu.
I had 2 plates of their very good bread. The best, well, one of the absolutely best steaks I have ever had. So good so I asked for a second steak.
The desert was high class with real (EXTRA) whipped cream. Tea from pots. A restaurant worth visiting.
150 Dollars, cheap, it was worth every dollar and better than paying 30 Dollars for a meal that is worth 10 Dollars.
Very friendly staff and excellent service. High class restaurant! I will be back!
O.
Nice place to have dinner. Nothing to complain.
D.
11/10 Food, Service, Drinks, and View!! It was worth every dollar!
W.
Amazing place !! The view is stunning, All of the food was delicious and looked beautiful.
The cocktail they look great served in their unique glasses, they had such depth of flavours and smells.
N.
The views are stunning and you get free entrance to the skydeck with a meal reservation. We ordered the beef eye fillet, snapper and baby carrots. The dinner was wonderfully prepared and the flavours were explosive. To top it all off we were served by Anik who was very friendly and paid attention to our needs.
l.
Was so good, excellent service, fantastic food. Would recommend to anybody wanting a fancy dinner on those special occasions. Loved it
B.
It was a surprise from my partner that make me so happy. He took me for a dinner and ask for engagement here. It was a romantic time for me. Food was so nice and my surprise dessert was incredible. Love all the memories 💓💓
L.
The food was really enjoyable and the view was stunning. The seating arrangement is fairly comfortable and wasn't too cramped. The staff were friendly and the service was reasonably good. Overall this place has a nice atmosphere and is a great spot for some fantastic food.
L.
We went there for the first time recently. Great experience! Both food and the views were AMAZING. We cleaned up everything on our plates! lol Service was really good too
M.
Amazing the food was a 10/10 loved it I feally recommend going
BTW I didn't eat all of that me and the FAM went pls look at at pics
The view was amazing😁
K.
I do have to say this is one of those things you have got to do if in Auckland. With spectacular food and the view there's nothing like it. As the platform rotates it enables you to see the entirety of Auckland while you eat, with superb service to accompany it.
N.
Great place to dine while overlooking the whole Auckland including Rangitoto volcano, that is if you are not afraid of heights. Tasty food, cosy environment. It’s a pity the observatory close earlier this year from 8pm, so you don’t get a nice to see the city lights at night.
紐.
Best of best in highest restaurant in Auckland, the only problem is price is not that friendly. For two people normally cost $$$, I will say for the special occasion is fine, like wife’s birthday or girlfriend birthday.
For the food, yes it’s really good but tiny amount. In reality, you can have two main courses still feel hungry.
The most important is not the food is the view. Everything is fine once you take your love here for lunch or dinner.
It’s fine dinning but make sure the Visa card have enough credits. VH
G.
Quite expensive, but it’s worth it.
I could see the whole Auckland city at the top of the sky tower!
If you are going this place on your birthday or anniversary, they’ll celebrate you with a nice dessert! (I’m not sure they always celebrate it though)
V.
Service is really fast. The food is good but lacked a little seasoning. Good views as expected is the key feature.
P.
Had the set 3 course meal. Was wonderful and of course, amazing views, did a full rotation twice during our meal so got to see all of Auckland. A must do for any Aucklander or visitor. Book early so you get a window seat. Highly recommended
J.
An experience of a life time. Food was outstanding and the reception efficient but the table service was pretty lackluster. With different stewards coming in for each order the personal touch was kaput. Would revisit for the experience. Hope they address the service part
R.
While eating, the Dining room revolves slowly so there’s a 360 degree view of Auckland. The view alone was worth it, the food is really good and decently priced (especially since you’re in the air, with a breathtaking view).
F.
The three stars are for the view. Just beautiful. I booked a table before a concert in the skytower. We just wanted to have a snack and a drink. I was super excited about the chocolate mousse and beach pebble, a mascarpone apple crumble mix. It was average for the price. Nothing I would order again. When we were ready to leave, the waitress told us we have to spend a minimum of $40 each. That wasn’t mentioned before at all.
S.
Amazing experience! Awesome staff very attentive and friendly, dinning room set up with good , obviously wonderful view , food was disappointing ... very over priced for what you got, entree was some sort of lunchon tasting thing, the main was a bland dry very small chicken breast on a cut in half sausage and some random vegetables, if the entry to the sky tower wasn’t included I would be very very disappointed with the price of the food.
M.
One of our best dining. Food was perfect. Very delicious. Service was great. View is amazing.
D.
Best view of Auckland. Great food and if you stay for an hour you'll do a full rotation in the restaurant. Staff were very accomodating and had no issues making adjustments to ensure the food was safe for pregnancy :)
N.
Great service, good food and an amazing view of the city with a 360° view. Our server Nishi (I hope I spelled it right) provided us with exceptional service and made the experience that much better.
V.
Great views and the food is to die for.
Try the duck trio and pork belly for entrees and the venison for your mains!
I wouldn't call the service top notch, I've had better service somewhere else, but everything else was perfect.
S.
Pork entree, beef main, and chocolate cake dessert with wonderful rotating city-view in Auckland 👍🏻 it is so perfect.
D.
Great food, service! Highly Recommended. The view is another amazing kick!
A.
Friendly staff members, but when your booking is at 9.30p then expect for them to rush everything, including rushing you to finish your meals. Overpriced for the quality of their food, but it's the only restaurant in Auckland that have revolving floor with 360 degree viewing of Auckland's scenery. The good thing, their price includes the ticket to go up the tower about 30 minutes prior to your booked time, and also heavily discounted parking in the SkyCity.
B.
Fantastic views and fantastic food. An awesome some spot for a special event.
L.
My partner and I enjoyed the $90 set menu each on Friday night and was impressed with the view, food and most of all the service. We felt very looked after and the three course menu came out very timely to each other. The salt and pepper squid as the starter exceeded expectations! Would highly recommend and look forward to visiting next time we are in NZ.
B.
Was quite surprised at the amount of food, spent over $100 me and kids didn't get full, overall the food was fresh.
A.
Amazing view for dinner, and I really thought I'd get dizzy up there, but it's very slow and the atmosphere is light and airy. The food was also amazing, I got the 3 course meal, and everything that came out was well presented, had a beautiful fragrant aroma, and of course, tasted wonderful.
With kids, they also have a kids menu, although the space isn't super spacious for them. The staff were great and consistently took care of our table and the large group we had.
Overall a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend going here on a dinner date or special occasion.
J.
Good portions of tasty food for an honest price given the location. Views of the city from the 52nd floor. Great service
A.
Definitely one of the best dinners Ive ever had. The service was amazing from the beginning until the end. Thank you!
L.
We really enjoyed our lunch here.
The view is amazing and the food was very good.
Value for money considering it included the viewing deck experience.
I.
Food great, quick service from Chloe who was very attentive in anything that we wanted and got our order sorted. What really disappointed me was the attitude of other staff working at the time. There was a problem with our meal which Chloe went to rectify, however the staff in the kitchen were so rude to her and basically had a right go at her through no fault of her own and others began to have a go at her. Basically it came across that staff were bullying her not a good thing to hear or see. Very disappointing.
P.
This eatery place is very unique and gives an aura of enjoyment.
Sit on the top and explore the scenic view with every bite
v.
A very interesting experience dining when your surroundings are slowly rotating. Would definitely recommend everyone booking to come in at least 45 mins early to view the sky tower viewing deck. Which is free when you book a table at Orbit.
Would also recommend their desserts the tiramisu is simply insane.
L.
Nice view at 52 floor in 360 degree running view and food also delicious.
T.
What can I say more, you must come to explore by yourself.
T.
Decent food. Good view, how ever service could be better and alot faster
J.
Beautiful dining experience.
Staff were attentive polite and efficient!
Food was amazing and couldn't really fault anything.
On top of everything the view is spectacular!
T.
The food, drink and service was truely incredible. From the freshly cooked chips, perfect Gordon Ramsey quality scallops to probably the best steak I’ve ever had, this is not only a must visit place but the place you’ll want to tell all of your friends about. The experience itself is memorable most obviously for the fact it’s a giant rotating dome that turns and shows you Auckland completing one full rotation each hour. The young British girl who served us deserved her tip which was over 20% of the value of the meal. Usually not something we would do however she made the experience what it was, 10/10.
A.
Service was very good. Food was great. I was told the chicken was abit on the dry side. But over all it was very good. Won't suggest to go at sunset.. The lighting and the roution was giving me headache or motion sick..
J.
Unbeatable views and service. Staff were very accommodating at looking after my wife in her birthday. Food was good but really nothing could live up to those views. Definitely coming back.
M.
Went here for my birthday, and loved it! It's always amazing to eat for a while then look out the window, and see almost a completely different view. The food was splendid. Entree was tasty, although a bit small (especially for the price). Main courses were delicious! But the best part was the desert. I absolutely recommend the Flat White, as it's quite unique, and served with the best ice cream. The service was excellent. Of course, since it's the Sky Tower, you'll be paying more for the privilege, so do prepare your wallet. But at the end of the day I don't feel ripped off at all. I suggest you come here for special occasions only.
b.
Great food and service with amazing views...food is quite pricey but the experience makes it worth it...we got 3 course meals for $85 great idea for date night or to celebrate an occasion was going to give 4 stars just based on the smoked salmon we had as an entree wasn’t my favourite dish...but that might just be me being picky.
A.
Nice dinner and glad we did it, but service was not the best. Food was good, but overpriced for the portions.
P.
A go-to restaurant for amazing 360 views (the restaurant seats are on a rotating platform so you can see all the views of Auckland). The food is fantastic, a glimpse of NZ's culinary excellence at a reasonable price. You also get free entry to the Sky Tower observation deck.
T.
Great view, good food, great portions, good service but the restaurant per say it’s Outdated and it’s expensive for the “kind of restaurant” it is....
s.
Beautiful scenery, lovely food, (seven out of ten) served on cue. We had the $85 menu. Our waiter was very attentive. But seating felt a bit cramped. A family of 4 can sit on one table but if more it feels tight. It's nice for a special occasion but if you have a big family consider the seating.
T.
Beautiful view and good food, it was a very pleasant dining experience. We enjoyed the 3 course menu, each dish was nice and well presented. Service was good though hearing the manager tell off the staff from the kitchen was a little uncomfortable. Great for a special Central Auckland evening.
F.
The place was great. My family and I had a great experience in Orbit. One negative thing about the place is when the table moves around (rotation), the saturation and brightness of the light changed which was very annoying when eating. $85 for one person and $30 for a child. There was also a awesome view. Altogether the place was fantastic and I definitely recommend going their.
A.
Definitely one of the best views you’ll get while dining in Auckland. The revolving dining area gives you a fantastic view of the whole city while you are eating and it’s a fantastic place to visit if you haven’t been to Auckland before. However, despite the entrance to the Skytower being covered while you are dining here, the pricing at the restaurant still feels expensive. The quality of food is not quite up to the same standard as some of the other fine dining establishments around Auckland especially at that price point and the same can be said for the service. If you are looking for exquisite food, I’d look elsewhere but if you want to show off some of Aucklands incredible scenery then it’s not a bad place to go.
A.
The experience was just fantastic...!!! The waiter was a young Indian guy with a pleasant manner, absolutely helpful, not intrusive, but he was there when needed. We really appreciate that... The food was tasty, but the portion size was small. We would have liked the meat a bit softer (despite we ordered full cooked). The view was phenomenal...!!! In my opinion, a 3-course meal would be an expensive option, but if you just opt for the main meal, it would be a win-win... You could enjoy the sky tower viewing experience Plus a meal at the Orbit 360...!!!
J.
The price is very reasonable for a fine dining place. Have to adjust myself for the rotation as got dizzy in the beginning. Awesome view for dinner.
P.
Amazing view, affordable price, but poor interior in the Orbit restaurant.
H.
The BEST service ever! Had an awesome waitress who was awesome with recommendations and related very easily to all her customers and always greeted us with a smile. And then the food was next level amazing! Entree, main and desert was delicious, no complaints whatsoever. Also the fact that the cost was the around three same, if not cheaper, as many other restaurants around Auckland was awesome!
Overall experience 11/10!!

Food:
Well presented, chocolate cake absolutely top notch, the mains are good, quite posh, small portions.
Atmosphere:
The floor where all of the tables are moves ever so slowly, but if you are sitting by the window it can be quite nauseating spinning whilst eating!
The tables (on a Friday night, unsure if they are always like this) were packed like sardines, it is a bit claustrophobic, with not much room for the waiters and guests to move around to go to the toilet etc.
The lights dimmed a little each time we span around, not entirely sure if this was on purpose or not, but it was quite annoying as it suddenly got dark and was then hard to see the food or the menu.
Service:
Good service, polite waiter, however they forgot a drink that was ordered and it never turned up. They also took nuts out of my soup (I'm not allergic to nuts, I just don't like them). Staff also put a candle on a dessert for guests' birthdays which was nice.
I would recommend, if you aren't claustrophobic, have bad anxiety, or have sensory issues with noises and lights!

Amazing atmosphere during the night time, service is not bad and food is okay you can’t say it’s pricey there.
J.
Good food, great service and exceptional view of the city at 360 degrees! Liked the prawn entree it was delish.
D.
An experience that came close to perfect with an unbeatable view. The waitstaff are very pleasant and helpful and the food was incredible. Best food I’ve had in a long time and didn’t break the bank surprisingly. Who knew lamb and chicken could taste so much better at a high altitude. I’m drooling from just reminiscing...
S.
Food was great. Highly recommend that part, views stunning of course.
The reason for the 3 stars is that my drink was forgotten twice, and never received it.
The lighting was poor, as the floor rotates there are dark sports which make it extremely difficult to see the food in front of you!
A.
This was delicious, had a great night with the family. Service can be a little slow if you looking for a quick meal this is not for you, it's worth that wait. Take a full hour relax and watch the city lights slowly spin around you.
L.
Definitely one of the top 10 things to do in Auckland! What an amazing experience from start to finish! The views...the food...the service... Just WOW!!
J.
One of the best Dining place @ Auckland
Great food, good service and of course a breathtaking view of Auckland
K.
Must have experiences. Try to request window table if you going with less than 4 people.
Not big proten but enough for dinner.
Wide range of drinks.
U.
This was a good experience. The feeling of turning slowly is quite unique. It was definitely worth it.
The food:
The bread was delicious.
The Entrees were abseluutly delicious. Could not fault it one bit.
Mains were a hit and mis for us. We are pretty big vegetable eaters although we love our meat more and the meat was in point plus the sauces and most of the accompanying vegetables were excellent, however the spinach and brussel sprouts (which is usually some of our favorite vegetables) were a huge let down. They were actually inedible to be honest.
Desert was again abseluutly devine. I would almost go back just for that. It was an experience in texture and taste! Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks for a wonderful evening Orbit.
B.
Food was great
Staff is so friendly
View was amazing
H.
Limited to one vegan option by request.
Very good customer service.
R.
Love the food and the view. Service staff are attentive and accomodating. I find the meat of main pork dish a little bit tough however, the rest of the mains were delish.
D.
The view is awesome of course. Meal was up to standard too. Down fall was the service. We had empty drinks while waiter walking past. Pretty much paying for the view. Food was nice tho.
M.
One of the most finest, coolest and expensive place for some fancy dining experience.
J.
Great spot for having dinner. Having free mints on the counter is much appreciated. Special thanks to James for reserving us a window spot!!!
Very delicious and very interesting to see the resturant move.
s.
Tbh I was expecting a mediocre meal since the main reason people go here is usually the scenery, but the food actually tasted very good. Recommended.
H.
It’s really good food, kind of expensive but stunning taste! Great cocktails and moctails :)
t.
This is a must do for overseas visitors. You get to take in all of Auckland while enjoying a wonderful meal. A real treat!
T.
Had a wonderful time. The food was amazing & great service. Lamb Rack Devine ! Thank you
J.
Great meal, awesome views and fantastic service.
S.
No doubt that you pay for the experience, the food was average to good, the attendant at our table was very friendly. The issues we faced which we think are easy to fix:
1. Smile/greetings were missing generally when you are directed from the sky-deck and when you enter, the person checking reservation was looking overworked/tired or not enjoying. Hospitality aspect was missing:
2. The table, utensils (plates etc.) were tired, a redecoration may justify the price of the food.
3. Entree bread was not better than what you buy at Pak n Save (which could also mean that Pak n save bread is a high class quality). For $15.5 for a 4 small pieces of bread entree, you expect some sort of gourmet bread with quality butter/olive oil?
4. Overall, other than the attendant at our table tiredness was around.
I don't think people go there for casual dinning just for food, when paying relatively high price, they are there for hospitality. The views are amazing, a little focus on smile and investment on plates/tissue paper etc. can give a good uplift:)
P.
Had a perfect dinner here!
Great service, good food, priceless experience!
C.
My boyfriend took me there to celebrate my birthday and Valentines day! The staff there were really friendly and welcoming, when taking our order the waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and we told him it was my birthday so when my dessert came out it had a candle and a chocolate disk that said happy birthday! It was such a cute gesture from them and the food was amazing and went really well with thr views of Auckland and an amazing sunset.
J.
Service was perfect. Food Devine. super awesome views
T.
The service was amazing and the food was delicious. The manager on duty (6 June) was super warm and friendly and really ensured that the experience was top quality. Our waiter was also very professional.
S.
Beautiful dining experience. We had the 3 course menu and everything was tasty and beautifully presented.. would definetly recommend everyone to try atleast once.. Gr8 place to celebrate a special occasion 🙂
M.
Great view and food. The desserts are outstanding.
S.
Orbit is a very nice restaurant if you want to have a special dinner while enjoying a superb view on Auckland. The food is maint to be in top range but the taste was not. Food lack taste and some dishes had too much the taste of reused oil.
Service is friendly, but lack of efficiency. One of our drink never came, and we waited 40 min between our entrée and main, while our neighbors waited couple of minutes.
I was shocked to see the lack of hygiene in food prep. In prep kitchen I didnt see anybody using any protection (hat, gloves, mask), touching food with bare hands, talk to the waitresses through the shelves, shouting sometimes, and all over the dishes being prepared, not to say that in 2020, this is a dangerous lack of hygiene.
I got sick from the food overnight, not sure if it was linked to the prep though.
D.
Excellent service, delicious food, fabulous veiws.
P.
Nice experience. A good place to have dinner with your partner. Food portions are a bit small for the price you pay but the ambience makes up for it.
J.
This reviews is for a couple of months ago,
Entrees are so delicious pork belly was amazing. Absolutely excellent service, awsome with the kids very friendly, welcoming and prompt. Mains were nice but needed salt on my salmon. Apart from that delicious and cooked perfectly. We will be back and love the view!
A.
A pricey option for high tea, but you get 360deg unobstructed view of the city.
Have a meal here if you want to play tourist.
H.
Beautiful view and very good food. Not many options on the menu but it's good
Z.
Best food ive EVER had! Service was great, timing was great not too fast or too slow. Waiter had prompt clear away. The price for the meal and service totally worth it
A.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing views! Staff was friendly and food was great! We all enjoyed our night out. Thank you!
S.
was just awesome the food service ambience view and all ...
thanks for ur efforts....wud luv to come back
I.
Food was delicious wait times where a little long but who can complain with view like that!
M.
We have been there 2 times and every time we were not satisfied with mains. Maybe will come again but only for a nice view. It is better to take alcohol/cocktails and desserts there.
K.
Best food and experience ever
k.
Good food, fantastic view but poor service not as good.
I think they need to upgrade their toilets 2 cuz it’s definitely one of the worst ones I have been to.
ALSO FIRST TIME CING THE WAITERS USING THE SAME TOILET AS THE CUSTOMERS.
l.
Compliments to the chef.
A.
It's not cheap, but totally worth it! The food was delicious, and they catered so well for our little kids (2&4)! They were seated next to the window for the best view. They had a fantastic (parent approved) menu with colouring in pencils and activities. Such a great experience! We were celebrating 2x birthdays and the staff brought out their dessert on special plates with a candle for each. Amazing!
B.
Our sons 18rh birthday celebration could not of been better. We where all impressed by our waiter Uri. She is outstanding with her flare, attention to detail, memory and professionalism. The kitchen struck us with a great selection of divine cuisine and a marvelous attention on personalisng my sons dessert plate. "Happy 18rh Birthday" Magic!
D.
The service and food was superb..my fanily enjoyed it...I loved the lights at night, it certainly shows how beautiful Auckland is..Thanks to all at Orbit Restaurant. I definitely will be back..
S.
My parents have been eating at this restaurant for years and they’ve always LOVED it.
I went with them tonight and I have to agree. Amazing food, (we had the steak and it was cooked medium rare to perfection) lovely service, best view in town!!! Thank you so much for having us. 🥂
A.
My Overall Experience from booking to leaving has been wonderful. We were treated like VIP and were well taken care of. Thank you very much for catering to our needs with a very positive server. Slight delay on one of our meals but we didn't notice as we had enough food AND our server was a delight 😊
R.
Beautiful view. Will definitely be back for more.
S.
Orbit 360 is located on the 52nd floor of the Sky Tower Building in Auckland.
It's a much better option to book a table to get up the tower than it is to just pay the entry fee, as the restaurant only requires a minimum spend.
The food quality is ok and the menu has a range of options sure to meet the expectations of most people. The service is good, not outstanding. But you're really here for the views and the experience of casually revolving around the tower while admiring the stunning vista.
A good tip is to make your booking for about 45min-1hr before sunset. Your reservation allows you about 2hrs at the table so this way you get to see the views during daylight and night-time.
After your reservation ends you've got free access to the observation levels on floors 50 & 51, but also be sure to make the trip up the central elevator to visit sky Deck on level 60.
J.
It was good experience for my wedding anniversary
J.
You can't get better views over the city. I imagine that is weather-dependent of course. And the rotating restaurant might not be everyone. But for something different it can't really be beat. I recommend catching sunset. I've been twice and while night time is still beautiful, idling viewing that harbour from that height at sunset is pretty special. I feel it's a little overpriced for the portion sizes, but it is nice food. I'm sure they have slightly bigger logistical challenges than other restaurants. Worth a special treat.
M.
Lovely service and really delicious food, particularly the entrees and main courses. Lovely presentation. They added a candle to the dessert for a birthday which was so sweet. Stunning views.
The three course dinner option is good value.
P.
We decided to eat here as a special treat for the last night if our holiday. We are so glad we did. Sitting watching the city pass by whilst enjoying some excellent food was one of the highlights of the trip. We booked for 6pm which is earlier than we usually like to eat but allowed us to go up the tower at 5.15 so that we could watch the day turn to night from up there this worked really well. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful which all helped add to the pleasure of the experience.
T.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience start to finish. We had an amazing table by the window (incredible view), and you get free access to the viewing deck with your reservation. The staff left a nice note wishing us happy anniversary on our table, which was a nice touch. The food and wine were delicious (starters were a bit bland, but the main and dessert more than made up for it!). Service was very good, and our dessert even had "Happy Anniversary" written on it. It's not cheap, but if you're looking for a very special night out in Auckland, this is your place.
E.
Great good, awesome view. Child friendly.
D.
Beautiful food and a stunning view!
S.
Still a great experience to dine whilst getting excellent views of our fair city. Staff were excellent, food was delivered promptly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the 1pm time slot. My lamb main was superb!
Update for yesterday 23rd June 2019 - Sunday lunch was excellent and all four of us had great mains, perfect add-ons and desserts. Service by Chloe in particular was excellent and we all commented that it had been a great decision to book there. And the view is ever changing as this city continues to build up all around.
T.
The food was average with not much of a selection and we had to ask multiple times for out drinks. We also were trying to do the 3 course meal package but they failed to explain what was not included so that made the meal more expensive the only great thing about this place is the view. They also state that you are able to go on to the observation deck 45 minutes before or after your reservation however they do not tell you when it closes and you get into trouble from security for being up there eventhough you have to get out of the elevator to get to a different level.
E.
Great food, great service and amazing views!
J.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Our family of 6 all ordered different meals, and each serving was a delight and an experience within itself. It was on the expensive side $486 for 2 adults and 4 children, however, it was worth every penny. If you're in Auckland and looking for an experience, you cannot go wrong with Orbit 360.....one of our most memorable meals we've had anywhere in the world.
M.
I made the reservation for Orbit online about 5 weeks before the day, and from the look on the website one would have thought every table would be fillled. It was difficult to get the actual time we wanted because the website said everything was booked. As it turned out, the restaurant was about half-full for the entire 2 hours were were dining. Nonethless, we were seated at a table for two beside the windows and enjoyed the obviously great views of Auckland and harbour. The food was delicious. One had a steak cooked to perfection and the other had multiple sides of fabulous vegetables. The restaurant could do a little more to cater to vegetarians, however. The menu offerings without an animal protein are scarce and a thoughtful inclusion of something beyond would be welcome. The desserts were also tasty. It was a good meal and we enjoyed it, though it must be said it is a pricey evening. Other restaurants of similar standards probably wouldn't set you back as much, but the view is certainly unique and worth the occasional splurge.
V.
Had an amazing experience there today for my surprise birthday lunch.
Great service, great views.
Our waiter (Sadly didn't grab his name) was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and had our drinks delivered and served to each of us without second guessing who ordered what. My meal the Salmon wad beautiful!! The pearl cous cous was to die for!!
And just as we were about to leave our waiter showed up with a plate of sweets and "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce. They went the extra mile. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience
J.
Best restaurant for excellent view with romantic atmosphere!
W.
What a wonderful dining experience!
I thought the slowly rotating room would be a bit annoying or put me off eating but it was actually really lovely. My wife and I had a table near the window so we got to take in the whole 360° experience as we ate our wonderfully prepared dinner.
The food was beautiful and reasonable priced.
We had a lovely waiter who was prompt and payed attention so the service was fantastic.
I would definitely recommend you at least look at the dessert menu! There's some delicious treats on there!
J.
Pros: served by really great waiter Uri. Food and drinks came out super fast. Delicious clean and simple. Cocktail was excellent.
Cons: couldn’t find my way to orbit and was going up and down lifts until finally got the right lift. Rotating restaurant great in theory and a novelty but found it nauseating with a heavy meal.
Overall. One time deal to say I did it. Great service URI and friendly staff
Oh and if you are a 1 pax you can still get a window seat if you are early 5.30pm session etc.
R.
A big thank to our waiter. He was very helpful and attentive. The food were delicious. Very good experience.
C.
Love this restaurant! The views are beautiful and the atmosphere is very nice. Great drinks and food. A good choice for your first visit to Auckland or any special occasion. Highly recommended!
T.
Great as usual! Have to book in advance. My kids favorite place... obviously
M.
Loved the views and was average and meal excellent
Z.
The three course provided a solid and reasonably priced option for dinner. The entree and main were okay but the desserts were sensational. The view outshines the food to be sure, except perhaps for the dessert which was on par. The rotating did make me feel rather woozy so if you don't travel we'll make sure to face the way it rotates and don't sit right in the edge. Still a wonderful experience to be sure.
T.
I've had mixed experiences at Orbit.
On my first visit, the waiter was quick and helpful and food came out promptly. We had such a good time that we planned another visit here when family came to stay with us.
On the second visit, after the waiter handed us the menu it was almost another 35 minutes before we managed to get his attention again. We placed our orders when he finally came back to our table but because of how long we had waited, by the time the entree came it was well over an hour since we had sat down. Everyone was so hungry so the entrees were consumed very quickly. Then began another lengthy wait before the mains came out 40 minutes later.
That second visit is dissuading us from coming back to Orbit. Especially when you're spoilt for choice in the city.
S.
When we arrived the was 2 separate tables for our party of 8, but after enquiring they have offered us a bigger table. The service from the waiting staff was sloppy t. Drink menus didnt come out till 10 minutes after sitting down and over all communication was lacking. The food was good but and came out quickly, one steak came out well done but was instantly replaced with an perfectly cooked medium rare.
C.
Aside from the amazing view, the food is always top shelf. Crispy salmon skin, desserts not sinfully sweet. Serving size reasonable.
R.
Amazin view . Food was absolutely delicious. I'll go back agian . Thanks for a great food and great service.
A.
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Recommended.
K.
Came here at night. It was absolutely gorgeous, it was well furnished and we had an amazing view of the city as well. The atmosphere was good and the service was decent. The children loved their meals. It was quite expensive on my part, and the portion sizes tiny. Albeit, the plating of the food was outstanding. The dessert was beautiful, and delicious. Overall, we had an amazing night.
R.
The views here are outstanding, and our steak dinner was incredible. A great additional bonus to having dinner here is a complimentary visit to both viewing decks during the 45 minutes before or after your meal
reservation. When you figure it's normally $29 per person to visit the decks, it makes having a meal here quite a bargain. Visiting this place was definitely a New Zealand highlight! Note: Be sure to book ahead.
j.
Amazing food, amazing service with an amazing view, cant go wrong. They are also very reasonably priced when you get the 3 course meal for $80.00 (id pay that for the view itself) and the food was top notch.
R.
I have been there last night for Birthday Dinner , its just an awesome experience all together. Waitress Lily is a champion, she was so helpful and attentive. Food was so delicious.
b.
The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Each dish is unique in flavour and the options may be limited but my god it was hard to decide as it all sounded so luscious. The wait staff are super professional and polite and I felt completely comfortable. Our waiter ( I didn’t get his name) was an absolute delight! He had a golden earring in his ear if that helps?? Would absolutely come back and definitely would recommend :)) thank you for making our anniversary so special!!!!!
O.
The view was amazing and staff were very friendly and professional. The food was delicious, I would say overpriced but still worth it thanks to the great view. We celebrated our daughter's 4th birthday, she was so excited as the staff decorated her desert very beautifully.
c.
Excellent food, very good service and of course à winning view over the city. A bit pricey but worth trying !
H.
Breathtaking views, great food, outstanding service.
R.
Dinner last week. Was good and friendly as always. The menu slightly better this time round but tasted good. Steak was perfect. The view is still unbeatable!! Was a good night out with the kids
C.
Beautiful spot, must do in Auckland. Food was good although service could had been better for such a nice place.
A.
Great service. Delicious food.
Y.
Outstanding view but seriously It's a shame they serve terrible taste of dishes, waste of good ingredients! Never order their squid for appetizer, it has a horrible texture to ruin whole dining experience. other dishes used too much salt!
M.
We had a brilliant 360 view of the sunset over Auckland for our 5 year anniversary. The food was prepared to perfection - the flavor, the presentation, the portions! We were so full from our entrée and main that we struggled to finish our dessert. I have no complaints. For the price we paid we were blown away. I need to emphasise once again how great it all tasted! There wasn't a single dish where I found something I didn't like about it.
The staff was kind and accommodating, and gave us a card to wish us for our anniversary. They helped contribute to what was a beautiful evening. We'll definitely be wanting to come back again!
i.
Appetizers are delicious, cost-effective and affordable
J.
All good with this special dining experience. You need to book weeks in advance most of the time. Had the ostrich and found it tasty - its a red meat. Given the view, it would not matter what was served - so i found it good value and a great experience.
If you were thinking of just paying to go up and look out, this offers better value when you have a meal.
H.
My partner and My daughter and I, we went to this stunning restaurant for my birthday dinner on 18th Jan 2020.
WOW!!! SO MASSIVE!!! up through to the 52 flor by the Elevator. So High and Fantastic View!!!
I felt that I am as a CELEBLITY !!! when we arrived into the restaurant.
The restaurant is the most of sophisticated place which a compared with another restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect for my birthday as well.
The price of the course meal is not a reasonable price. but, You will be satisfied with the dish of the top chef!!!
I ordered : Salt & Pepper NZ Arrow Squid GF Pickled Cucumber | Sriracha Mayo | Lime for a Entrée
Akaroa Salmon GF Piccolo Potatoes | Black Olive Soil | Cherry Tomatoes | Green Beans | Salsa Verde for a Main
Keke Tiakarete (70% Dark Chocolate) GF DF V Layered Chocolate Cake Raspberry Jelly | Paleo Raspberry Sorbet for a Desert.
I was so satisfied of the course dinner meal with the beautiful Auckland view...
This is worth it :))) I recommend of this experience for your special occasion... we will definitely come back this restaurant again :))) Cheers!
a.
Came here with the family recently for our parents wedding ann. Very impressed! portions are decent and tasted delicious !! Entree I had the Puhoi ricotta rocket tortellini <3 <3 main I had the Manawatu eye fillet. So good. Dessert was decently presented but taste was ok, Keke Tiakarete layered choc cake. Views and ambiance was lovely. Lacking one star though because the seating layout was a wee bit cramped. Space the tables out a bit so people have more room and comfortably & youd have one of the best restaurants in the city!
A.
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Came on a Thursday night so we didn't have to have a set menu. Food was great, as was the service. I was somewhat worried the room moving would be nauseating but it moved so slowly and smoothly it was fine.
D.
See my review of Sky City. We only went to the Orbit 360 restaurant.
m.
Delicous food! Only issue is that bookings online never work?
J.
Wonderful way to end our NZ trip. Great food (if expensive) and an incredible view.
S.
The food is beyond delicious. I had the cheesecake for dessert and it was the best I’ve ever had. Fifth star could have been added if the decor was a little bit more inviting (my table had a creek and it was slightly loose)
N.
Went up with the kids and they loved it, the kids meals were very generous. We had the set lunch menu but our food was a little average. The gnocchi was like unseasoned mash potato. Worth going up for the experience but the food is expensive for the quality
D.
Excellent food, great atmosphere. The wait staff are excellent, professional. The overall experience is great but aimed at tourists.
M.
Came to Orbit for High Tea with a group - staff were friendly and highly attentive which was great. Price for the High Tea is very good and the selection of sweet and savoury are fantastic, with bottomless savouries and tea. You get a glass of champagne on arrival (which is included in the price - amazing) Only let down was how filthy the carpet was from the previous lunch session - there were French fries and crumbs under the table. A quick vacuum before the High Tea crowd arrive would of been great. It was a little bit dirty - same goes with the restrooms.
G.
Absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience, stunning views and very lovely people they serve you with the delicious food. I can’t ask for more the price I am paying for such a wonderful memorable meal. Thanks to Skycity Orbit staff for making me feel special on my birthday celebration. Truly 5 star deserved.
N.
If you are epileptic or incline for headaches - just don't!
the food is good, it's not amazing. The place is respectively decorated, altho a little dated. Basically, you are there for the views. and that can be also the problem - it rotates... the entire restaurant moves slowly and rotates so you get to see 360 views of Auckland. it's is breathtaking and worth it, but for me, it made me seasick a little - you need to keep looking far into the horizon. Another good tip - you don't pay the 25$ elevator fee for going up the tower when dining in one of its restaurants. Oh, the best time to go is just before sunset.
D.
Excellent place to eat with it's revolving restaurant. The views were amazing and every angle of Auckland was seen. Wonderful!
And if you book a table, you'll get the free ride to the top. Makes the slightly expensive meal the more worth it.
T.
It cost NZD 85 for 3 course with 1 starter, 1 main, 1 dessert. You can also choose to spend NZD 40+ for one main only. The price is OK, not as expensive as I thought.
Food is pretty average, definitely not good enough to call fine dining. Nothing fancy, nothing special. I do not think the food is worthy, but the view is.
Probably will not go back again. But if you have not been there before, do take somebody you care with you and enjoy the night view.
M.
A one-of-a-kind restaurant 190m off the ground, Orbit will amaze you with the 360 degree view of the city especially on a clear day, while you enjoy the western cuisine on offer. The food is decent and you'll find the service to be equally good which adds to the unique dining experience. Understandably, prices are set at the higher end but as a bonus, you are welcome to visit the main observation deck before landing your feet on the ground. Definitely worth trying!
j.
Excellent meal, great staff, wonderful views
S.
Great service, fantastic food and delightful view.
The food was the best it's been in at least 5 years I would say. 👍
E.
Food is OK, but service is very average, not a fine dining service. Didn't let us to sit at window table eventhough I was told they are not fully booked. Water was in dirty cup. Waiter gave me bill right after we finish our dessert. Made me feel they just wanna us to leave when we finish.
E.
We definitely loved the view and 360 idea its perfect. Foods are good in size and taste.
R.
We had a great meal and excellent service last night. Lovely views as it was a clear night. Staff were so helpful. I lost a birthday voucher while up there. It was handed in and returned to me. So very grateful. Thank you
N.
Service and food quality is great. The view is unparalleled and gives you the view of Auckland. I got a bit dizzy though when we were eating and I am thinking because of the lights is moving in and out of our table because the restaurant is rotating (although slow).
J.
Been here so many times. Always blown away. The food is consistently amazing!
L.
A 360° View of Auckland City by 🌃 will take you through your evening while dining with the lights of Auckland City 🏙️
Service with a smile that is welcoming & warm ☺
G.
Framed by children's paw prints on the glass is a half decent view! Staff promptly replaced the dirty flatware they gave us, and were only too happy to replace the unpalatable tea for the standard fee. Mid way through a satisfactory high tea they were courteous enough to give us a 15 minute warning, before brooming us out after the generous time allowance of an hour at the table. No extra charge for printing out the ample bill. I guarantee you will also feel that this is an experience you must have at least, and only, once.
B.
Have dined at the 360 restaurant a number of times now and every single time have had an absolutely superb experience. The food is excellent, of the highest quality and the menu changes seasonally so there’s constantly new options. The staff are lovely, the service is exceptional, the atmosphere is really beautiful and the location is unbeatable.
C.
Very nice view and food are amazing, good for value too.
C.
Amazing food, excellent service, views and a reasonable price. Had a fantastic dining experience for my daughter's birthday
E.
Highest with my GF ever, amazing night🌃💓
W.
This was the place that I've always wanted to go with partner for a date. So on our 10th anniversary we came here and man o man it is not what I thought it would be with the food. Partner and I were both very disappointed because paying $85 per person at the place wasn't even worth it. The portion of the food wasn't good even a glass of wine it was below the half mark and all that for $85 the dessert wasn't good as well. Honestly I might as well pay the $85 to eat at the McDonald's is more worth. The food is not so good. The service is also not good. We both enjoyed the view though that was nice.
A.
Had lunch here and was seated next to the window. The food was pretty good, the atmosphere bliss and the staff amazing. To top it off the view was crazy and set the mood the entire time.
Thanks
N.
Ambience
5*. Views+++
Food
Starter - tuna seemed a little dry. Crust overdone. Not terrible, but underwhelming. 3*
Main - fillet just okay. Way too much sauce. I have had better steak. Not terrible though. Sides: The skinny fries are not actually skinny, they are regular fries. 3*
Dessert - deconstructed Jafa tasty but a little too salty. Good. 4*
Service
Okay. Welcoming person was a little abrupt and might be interpreted as rude. Waitrons bringing food seemed hurried and occasionally muddled. Pretty average. 3*
Pricing
Came to around 105/head for three courses+drinks. Fair. 3.5*
M.
Fine dining, good food, great service. Also passes to Observation deck and top most deck at 230m high.
However, the restaurant did not allow the child's birthday cake to be shared after meal.I think Orbit 360 should review it's policy to allowing birthday cakes to be eaten at the restaurant especially if it is a child's birthday.
B.
Veiws of Auckland are amazing. However the place needs a good clean. Windows were filthy.
Food was nice. But very expensive for what you get. Nice experience but i think there are much better restaurants on the via duct.
A.
Lovely staff. Great food with an amazing view. Definitely a good choice for a special day.
M.
19 October 2018 18:52Wheelchair friendly, it isn't the cheapest place for dining but you are eating with a great view of the city. Compared with places in Sydney (O-bar) they are not as welcoming and there is emphasis on you eating and getting out quick. The staff come by frequently but sometimes you just want to be left alone and not hurried. We paid $110 for Chicken breast $42, Cauli Risotto $32 (not a large serve) two Orbit express cocktails $36. You have to pay more for sides so if your'e at the end of your budget. Also not easy to get in via the lifts for wheelchairs.
M.
Amazing place to have dinner. Went multiple times but service can be very good to average depending on staff. Overall was always good food and amazing scenery
R.
Recently we met an English couple in Australia and struck up a friendship. Found out they were passing through Auckland and spending 7 hours at the airport. We arranged to pick them up to take them out to dinner. Choosing 360 Obit was fantastic in all ways.. staff member Dana, service, food and the weather was so kind to us as the moving view gave our visitors a great understanding of Auckland city at night. We hope they come to visit again so we can show them our home city Tauranga.
M.
Recently renovated. Excellent service, great views. The food was superb. The kids menu was reasonably priced. $80 for an entree, mains and dessert, minimum cost of $40 per person.
M.
Amazing views and dining experience. Food was nicely presented and of very high quality. We were very impressed with the service. Very efficient and careful staff. Highly recommended.
G.
Fantastic view of auckland city , lovely food and best service .
C.
5 star for the views and service and food is average
A.
With Orbit restaurant, you mainly pay to enjoy the views. The food, IMO, is 8/10. I love the ambiance, been there twice. Only worth for very special occasions & if you love great views. Wont go there for the food though
J.
The view and the atmosphere here are amazing. Foodwise, I expected something a lot fancier given the price and the location, but unfortunately the food was nothing to rave about, and I was left feeling like the stunning location had resulted in a lazy menu. Overall, it was a nice place to eat, but it wasn't amazing, and I wouldn't really recommend it or return.
e.
The view was amazing, although it was a bit slow. The meals were not overpriced because of the nice packages that they had. Absolutely WONDERFUL steak with peas and potato mash. Service was good, but a bit slow even though there weren't many people there.
A.
Ultimate views of Auckland, nice food and service. Rotates 360 once an hour. Obviously not cheap dining, but not too stuffy either.
M.
A really nice and inexpensive way to enjoy the skytower and have a good meal. The food is expensive but very nicely prepared, what makes it great value is you get the view and to enter the skytower included in the price of dining.
Worth booking ahead as usually very busy.
J.
Visiting my son in Auckland and the dinner at the sky tower restaurant was a real highlight.
The staff and service were excellent and the revolving tower was breathtaking I would recommend it as a must do in Auckland. You must book in plenty of time as it is very popular
A.
My son's 18th. Absolutely loved it. Amazingly food. We all chose something different and every plate was delicious.
Dessert was beautiful. Thanks for a great night. We will be back.
M.
Went last night for our 10th year wedding anniversary. Food was amazing, our waiter was exceptional. Roni the waiter looked after and made our night magical. My huband and I was really impressed by the service and the food.
L.
Poor service, not interested in kids (their meals came out after adults meals & 2 seperate requests for kids had to be repeated due to not being done). Slow to take orders especially given the 2 hour dining window you have. Not very friendly. Overall the service let down the experience of good food & view. Feels like they don't care because they have captive audience for thier unique viewing experience.
L.
Spectacular view over the Auckland city skyline and terrific food, wine and service. We had the privilege of a seat right by the glass as the restaurant revolved through sunset into night, lit up by the city lights. A romantic and memorable dinner, finished dramatically with Crepes Suzette flambed at the table!
L.
Absolutely beautiful experience.
The food was Amazing, the staff were very accommodating and the atmosphere was exactly what you would expect for such a high quality restaurant NOT TO MENTION the 360 degree view. WOW. Made for a very memorable family celebration. Thank You
J.
A most memorable meal
Every dish we had was a delight
Even a simple spaghetti was done to perfection
K.
We had a lovely celebration evening here with 2 granddaughters. We were well looked after and enjoyed our night.
U.
Had dinner here last October 2nd and the experience was great! Nice, accommodating staff and the food is delicious! The views of downtown Auckland is just amazing!
c.
Food was well presented and tasted amazing. Views were great. Staff polite
S.
Very good food and wine but somewhat slow service. Upon arrival we were told that we have two hours to finish our dinner and vacate the table as they have another reservation for the same table afterwards. I found that very rude given this was my birthday dinner and the table was booked for the occasion. We ended up having dessert at another place because we ran out of time.
A.
This place never disappoints, being here on special occasions, best place for fine dining and a great view of Auckland city
Y.
Excellent service
B.
Amazing view, great service, food was flavoursome however the piece of beef I got with my meal was covered in fat - expected better for the premium price.
J.
Outstanding service - very attentivevwithout being over the top
Outstanding food - matches the very best equal to the likes of Logan Brown.
You can't go past the views 360⁰ views across Auckland city.
First time we have been will definitely not be the last.
G.
We shared our 20th Wedding Anniversary at Orbit 360 Dinning, 22 years ago I proposed to my wife at the Sky Tower, 20 years ago I married the love of my life on the 11/11/1999 at 11:ooam and we spent our honey moon at Sky City.
Our dinner was absolutely divine the staff were exceptional in every way, take the time to visit and dine at Orbit 360 with the person you love you will not regret it, if there were more stars I would give it to them!!
Thank You
M.
Although expensive, the food was amazing. Me and my partner had a 3 course meal and enjoyed every dish. The views were amazing and service 5 stars. 2nd time up, would go again.
C.
We went for the 5pm sitting so we could watch the sunset and day turning into night
Fabulous food and service
S.
Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service right down to the vegetables haha first time here, definitely coming back when I'm auckland next
L.
I've been to the orbit restaurant in 2006 (lunch), 2016 (dinner), 2018 (lunch) & 2019 (lunch). It is MUCH better in the last few years than it was in 2006.
The food is really great and the view fantastic. The price of a regular viewing entry is high enough that it seems worth it to spend a small amount more and get a lunch - which will also mean a more relaxed and less crowded time viewing the sites. The journey up is in an elevator with glass panels.
Detracted a star for:
- Annoying to find: you go down an escalator from the ground floor initially (don't use the lifts when looking for the orbit restaurant).
- The last time we went the rotating floor was a bit jerky at certain sections of the rotation. This made one of our party a little unhappy.
- Another person had a hair in their dish :(. I still recommend going though! ><.
Other:
As seems common with nice places, the servings are a bit small, and not very many menu items - I believe you can view the menu online.
**You need to book ahead**
S.
Food was fabulous, both the rib eye & dark chocolate & raspberry cake. Really enjoyed it. Definitely not cheap, but a nice place for a special occasion.
B.
Love this place. Food always on point, service is fantastic and a must see in Auckland
y.
nice place and delicious foods
S.
Went with a group of friends, we got the set menu and was really worth it, the meal was amazing all the courses were delicious and the severs were really friendly and quick. was well worth the money as we could go up the top and look at the view before we ate.
A.
Staff are very accommodating esp with young children. Great food and great views. Can be tricky finding elevators if you're dealing with a wheelchair or buggy.
R.
We visited with our family relatives in New Zealand to thank them for having us stay. The whole experience was tremendous. We went for the early evening sitting and saw the last of the sun go down combined with nightfall - the views were staggering. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal (can't remember exactly what we had but it was seriously good!) and the overall service was excellent. Some may view this as a bit of a 'touristy' experience but to be honest, so what?! You get what you pay for - excellent food and superb, slow-rotating views with the ambience you would experience in fine dining. Well worth considering/visiting!
R.
Spectacular view!!It's situated at top of sky tower providing truly a unique experience with amazing 360-degrees panoramas of Auckland city. The dining room rotates once every hour.Had a great experience there for Hi-tea.The service is exceptional.
J.
Seven of us enjoyed a great lunch here on a Saturday. The food was excellent and was good value . We all chose the two course special for $55 and were not disappointed. The wine list could have been better and the staff did not really know their wines, but they were all very helpful and friendly. I did book well ahead which was just as well as the restaurant was full, but even so the staff still managed to accomodate two late guests for us which was very much appreciated. The changing view out of the window while we dined was an amazing experience and our overseas guests were blown away. We would definitely go back again.
D.
Thanks so much you friendly welcoming staff great atmosphere really started our night off amazingly
D.
Amazing meal and the service was next level well done.
Z.
OK food, nice service, amazing city view in the turning restaurant. I would recommend it!
C.
Delicious food in a great environment. Celebrated our anniversary and was given a cute 'Congratulations' chocolate with out dessert. The Cheese platter was a highlight
j.
I don't know if I'm just slow but it took my forever to find the actual elevator to it. (You go down the escalator) the restaurant was very comforting and enjoying, not much on the menu but still enjoyed the meal and the view.
C.
Cannot recommend enough.. my son has many food allergies they prepared a special meal and presented it amazingly eating out is a rare occasion for us but this made his feel so incredibly special to the chefs and staff THANK YOU so very much!
B.
Love the place. Prices aren't too bad and it's always a remarkable dining experience.
H.
I have taken overseas visitors up to ‘Orbits’ for lunch a number of times.
Do it because of the view. Service always friendly, food excellent, relaxed dining, parking convenient. Designed to appeal to more affluent yes but a superlative experience of ‘the city of sails’!
You’re being talked about in the same category as Queenstown, Taupo and Waiheke.
Will continue to come back!
Hugh Allan
Hope the above suffices?
Next time will tell you about the safari expedition in finding a parking spot!
Map and compass exercise in navigating the casino building!
🙂
R.
I rate this restaurant highly. The food, presentation and service excellent. Went there on 12th 2021 for dinner.
s.
had their high tea which costs $30 a head and that includes admissions to the sky tower which costs $25 on its own + free parking. the sandwiches felt like they were made the day before but the scones were warm and desserts fresh. The cup had disgusting tea stains and when we asked for a new one, they just wiped it and gave it back =.=///. the tea were in bags and not loose leaf but considering im just paying an extra $5 for the food, i guess it was ok.
A.
Unbeatable views and a restaurant booking also gives free access to the observation decks. The food is not amazing but much better than it used to be a few years ago. So they seem to be on the right track..
m.
Awesome service, amazing food would go back again 👍🏼
B.
Went for dinner on Saturday for a 30th. Loved entree, main and desert - everything was cooked to perfection. Nice pace between meals and amazing view! Definitely will be going back.
L.
Highly recommended way to experience the sky tower and its view. Allows you to avoid the fee of $29 per person.
Food is delicious and the service is wonderful.
Prices are a bit expensive but on par with the quality.
S.
Went yesterday 27.06.20 for my birthday and loved.Food is amazing ,we had nice seats, and Ben was very nice 👌!
W.
This is the spot to have a meal and get a overview of Auckland. Enjoyed our meals. Budget a hour to 1.5 hours for a dinner. Requesting tips was a bit off in NZ culture, I'm sure it catches a few tourists. Sky city should be paying enough in wages I hope to not need tips..
A.
The experience was great, the view is beautiful and the food was delicious. Giving 4 stars because the food portions should be larger considering the amount of money you pay to dine there.
R.
The view is stunning. We arrived at 5:30 so that we could see the city by day light, the sunset and by night. Amazing.
The service is great. Menus are nice.
P.
very nice service, great food, great staff, polite and courteous. However I was surprised to see staff with long beard inside the restaurant. Either they should shave or cover their beard from hygiene point of view.
R.
Loved it 10 /10 the view made the conversation flow
J.
The food and service fantastic, the young man who served us was so on the ball and professional. Thanks Guys
J.
Amazing views of Auckland, awesome service and great food.
D.
Food is super delicious, service is outstanding including warm welcoming and must try desserts.
Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
N.
Fine dining with a great view, you are allowed to stay for 2 hours and also you get complimentary access to the sky view floor. Definitely worth a visit for the views.
M.
Very nice, our waiter was very polite and was more than happy to assist us with the menu
Definitely recommended!
N.
What an experience!!!!! The food, hygiene, service and environment-everything was perfect. The most amazing view, must visit restaurant.
O.
Perfect clear day for lunch. Meals were appropriately priced for the experience, staff were friendly and prompt. Our group all loved their meals. All in all great experience.
M.
Awesome experience.. the rotating 360° table and fine dine-in is an absolute newzealand must do experience...
M.
Superb flavours, presentation, and a menu that covered all the bases! Service also top notch and portion sizing just right. The 3 course option for $75 was great value. Recommend
P.
I would recommend to go for a dinner. The 360 city view with night lights is remarkable. Food is good And the staff is also nice.
R.
Lovely view, delicious food, Cynthia was warm and friendly, thank you Cynthia... the deck visit was a disappointment though as the glass panels are cloudy
H.
Revolving restaurant. Three courses on dinner cost 80$. The eye fillet was pretty good, but nothing special. Ceviche was not bad too. The view from top was pretty nice, especially during sunset and night. The restaurant circles one round every 45 minutes.
H.
Thank you SkyCity for a most sumptuous lunch Certainly made our 30th wedding anniversary celebration one to remember the food is so delish and service by Lily is superb
Thank you for our chocolate gift and complimentary ice cream for dessert ❤️❤️❤️
D.
Its a great place for views of the city, but you pay a premium for average food
A.
Excellent food and even more stunning views of Auckland!
B.
What a great place to view the whole Auckland
N.
Great food , great view
J.
Amazing food (and coeliac friendly) and amazing food. Get the spirited hot chocolate.
J.
Great food and brilliant service, but best of all is the views! Can't miss with this place for a special date or trying to impress someone.
C.
Best view for very affordable priced meals, great staff and atmosphere
F.
Always average. Been a number of times over the years and always have an average experience. Food is over priced for what you get. Beautiful view of the city
M.
We as A Family Went There for CHRISTMAS Dinner This Year..
For the Meal I would give it 3.5.
But After Talking to the Restaurant Manager About our Experience AND How She Handled it..
I Would Give A VERY HIGH 5..
Absolute Professionalism at it it's Very Best ..

S.
Fantastic!
Delicious food.
G.
Wonderful service by Sam and four excellent meals -all different. Definitely recommend -not cheap but worth the expense. Magical views.
T.
Quite pricey, for the service you received. The food was wonderful but I think they need more staff maybe?? As a one-off it was good.
D.
Not a vey good meal at all. Service was good but they were keen for us to leave ASAP.
R.
Best food and service. Got served from Tushar, thanks for such a amazing time .
I.
Great dinner experience at sky tower. High price with high quality. I love cheese & it's only need to + $5. If you love cheese that you must try it.
K.
Had an amazing experience there today for my surprise birthday lunch.
Great service, great views.
A.
You're going to orbit really for the view and the rotating restaurant. Food is average and maybe even below average for the prices charged. But you get the view and that's it. Service is alright, nothing exceptional
J.
Went for a high tea and it was great, our waitor was fantastic, the view amazing and the nibbles were very yum although some could have been better.
R.
Absolutely fantastic place to have a meal with friends great service from great staff
i.

R.
Great experience. Took my wife for our annivesary. The food and the atmosphere are on point.
j.
Service good, views spectacular. Food was decidedly average, very small servings, not worth the price tag
A.
Great views, great food and good cocktails
C.
Amazing experience, great food
A.
Clean and organised, well trained staff and well cooked food.
Just the restroom would need a little bit more attention.
Still an amazing place to go!
H.
Booking was easy, food and service was great, a little bit overpriced maybe. The view is obviously great.
M.
Really enjoy the dinner tonight. Fantastic food and great service.
R.
The tastiest food I ate in Auckland. It is very pricy, but if you got the money, it is worth it.
S.
Shame service slow. Food nice but not amazing. Disappointment no window seat.
L.
Amazing views of Auckland which change as you spin slowly around, great food and wine to match. A perfect place to bring visitors.
R.
Great view as advertised. Food is VG. A must if visiting auckland.
T.
Very impressive restaurant and views. The weekend set menu is great value
M.
Whata beautiful place and great service. Food is average though, bit high priced, justified though from the ambience. ...ofcourse Sky tower!
V.
Brilliant views but pretty average food. Remember you pay premium price for the views and you can't go wrong!
S.
Excellent place to dine and take in the wider Auckland view. A good place to take Auckland guests.
L.
The chef makes a real effort for vegetarians, which is not easy to find in Auckland. Service was great too.
y.
Excellent Food, very good Service and very POLITE STAFF. FANTASTIC VEIW !!!
M.
The food is below average for the restaurant of that class. staff is unfriendly. The only great thing about this place is the view
R.
Amazing views of the city, good food a very enjoyable experience. Arrive 45 minutes early to take advantage of the viewing deck.
B.
Kids love it. Dinner with a view :-). If you visiting Auckland is a must.
T.
Great food and incredible views. An absolute must for anyone visiting Auckland
E.
Great restaurant with 360 degree views. It's rotating at the top! So you won't miss any view of Auckland! Must go!
R.
Amazing food and experience
V.
Wait for more than 1 hour for the food to come after ordered. When I asked the waiter, he said this is because this is made on request. I am so shocked as all restaurants are made on order but would not take 1 hour for a main on menu. All kids are hungry and about to cry. Advised people to eat before you come.
B.
View is great, food is good.
S.
I had dinner with my wife to celebrate our 1st year marriage anniversary last night. On the weekends, minimum cost of 3 course for each person is $85. Smoked salmon was strongly recommended, however beef fillet was just OK for us. Narrow squid for entree was good. Nice view and good service. It was a very nice experience. Also the discount price for car park if you asked the reception.
M.
Great food great views
M.
Beautiful meal great service looking forward to next time
M.
Great service and amazing views but the food was not great... and also they are still using plastic straws, which is not on!
S.
Good place, good food and people
E.
The meal we had was perfectly cooked and so good. Service was quick and good.
