C.As good as any fish and chip shop in Auckland. We typically have fish, chips, potato and pineapple fritters, fish cakes and spring rolls, and all of it is top quality every time. The fish in particular is what matters most to me and it is always cooked just right - firm, with a crisp batter. Generous servings and friendly staff.
S.Out of all the fish and chip shops this is definitely a gourmet selection. Bit pricey but so worth every cent we drive out 3 times a year from pukekohe just to have this best option for me is the battered oysters can still taste the ocean juicy and fat. Chips perfect, fish wasn't to bad hot dog was great and so was the burgers!! Great service overall great shop!
K.The most amazing burgers and chips. I ordered the crumbed chicken burger and an angus burger. Great size, good value and the chicken wasn't processed! Perfect place to stop in and grab food to take to the domain. I will definately be back to try more from the menu.
V.The toasted sandwiches are the best thing at this shop. Apart from being white bread, they are good portions and taste pretty good. The gourmet burgers aren't bad either, if you can afford one. The guy on the hot plate takes care about his cooking and he even fries the cheese, but the classic steak and egg burger has no meat paddy, the lettuce isn't fresh and the egg is always way overcooked. The fish is fresh, but the batter is a bit disappointing. The oysters tasted a bit off too. The chips are ok, but you really don't get much for your money. I mean, how much does it cost them for a little bit of potatoe? It would have been n nice to walk away feeling full, but overall, not a bad place to go. The staff have always been really friendly. With a few improvements, this place could be awesome. Let's hope they read these reviews
g.Our whole bubble had takeaways Sunday night. Seven of us we had a selection of gourmet burgers chips hotdogs onion rings. We were really pleased with every burger extra nice. The chips were done perfectly onion rings hotdogs really good as well. We were not disappointed. Good value for money. We will be back next week.
N.Penny is our regular take away shop. The food is good quality and tasty. There are vegetarian hot dogs which are really nice. Not as cheap as a provincial take away shop but still good value for being in Remuera/Newmarket/Parnell.
o.Looks clean place but the owners are not professional.
They are frying fish and chips in the same frier which is affecting the chips taste. My fish was over cooked.
Their clothes are not very clean and they are not using uniform.
In my idea this place is over rated and the food is over priced.
B.IMHO best burgers in Auckland. Scotch fillet burger always a perfect medium rare. Cheese melted on the hotplate before adding to burger makes all the difference, so too simple but very fresh salad.
P.Not super cheap, and the portions aren’t huge, but we struggled to finish it - it was all good though so we persisted! The Tarakihi impressed us by not being soggy. Will absolutely stop by here again next time I’m staying in Parnell.
S.Sandwiches and burgers were great. Chips were a bit over fried though. Otherwise would have been 5 stars for my experience.
T.Our local takeaway, was slightly better as Al & Pete's (previous owners, at this location for 30+ years apparently) friendly enough staff and reasonably priced for the area. Really needs a good clean though and the quality is slipping a bit I think.
W.They do good food, but it's not the same as the old Al n Pete's... sorry bout that, it's hard to beat the old place

Some would say that the manager is not very good trader but in any case szs fish and chips are sublime. Go there !!

Certains dirons que le gérant n'est pas très bon commerçant mais en tout cas szs fish and chips sont sublimes .Allez y !!
