Passing by after attending a business meeting. Decided to give it a try. Second day Auckland under red traffic light. No one dine in the restaurant. Very quiet. Decided to do takeaway as well. Acceptable food. Not fancy. Place look old and need some improvement. Operate by two old couples. Friendly. I think some restaurants need time to recover from the COVID outbreak.

My first (and definitely not my last) Korean Cuisine dining experience at Pine House Korean Restaurant, Mokaia Rd, Birkenhead. The menu was vast with so many share options we decided to hit several mains and a couple of entrees. Price was excellent and so was the food, very happy crew of 5 celebrating one of the teams birthdays! Keen to revisit with an even more bigger crew! Awesome service and authentic atmosphere.

I like how we got served a generous helping of side dishes. I ordered the omelet rice, and would have personally wanted the egg on top to be made more like a traditional omelet and a less salty sauce to be used, but it was overall okay and if I go back to the restaurant, I'll try one of the soups instead.

Good authentic Korean food, been in the area by the same owner for years and it is Owner-operator. Good values and selections from the menu. They open everyday include public holidays, close on Tuesday. Very busy on weekends, takes group booking. The place is showing its age but cosy to sit in. Ample free parking out in front or nearby. This is a popular and established Korean restaurant on the Shore. Highly recommended to try it out.

Good variety of side dishes. Its also very cozy and homelike. Owners are lovely people and are never stingy about giving refills. I do feel that the quality of the ingredients has deteriorated recently. Used to be 5 stars for me.

Awful customer service, just another Asian restaurant where you don’t feel welcomed. We came to this place 2 times and the first time it was very quiet and still we felt like we never existed... second time we came was very busy and all the other tables were served and we were totally ignored (we were the only European looking people). So we just stood up and left, after waiting for anyone to take out order for like 15 minutes and other tables that came after us were already getting their drinks and food. Very nice Korean food though, the one we got to try the first time so giving it a 3 star.

Clean environment, friendly staff and lovely Korean cuisine, wanted to try something different away from the normal western cuisine I've always eaten so a culinary cultural exposure and experience of this sort was well worth it. The presentation was nice. No garnish or bells and whistles as you usually see in European style restaurants yet made up for that in flavor and texture

One of my favourite Korean joints in Auckland. Been visiting this place for over 10 years now. Some favorites to get you started. Spicy BBQ pork & Spicy beef on tofu. Otherwise the Kimchi pancake & dumplings are always a go to.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants. Consistently good food at a great price. Favorite dishes are the bbq flatfish and the spicy beef soup.

Came here on a Friday evening with some friends. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Quick service and lots of side dishes came with our meal - which is always good as other places may only give three or so. I think I counted 6 or 7. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely come back to this warm and cozy place!

Have been enjoying food from Pine House for a decade, moving out of Auckland and really going to miss this place above all others. Great food, friendly and fast service(when they are not completely full) and a bazillion tasty side dishes all for very reasonable prices.

An unexpected pleasure, with kimchi plates supplied along with our food. Friendly service. No credit cards, so I had to run over to the mall to get cash, but they were happy to wait for me to come back.

Go to Korean restaurant and Takeaway in Birkenhead. Gets packed but you have an option to call in your order and pick it up. Generous serving and side dishes.

Teriyaki chicken was beyond expectations. All meals Comes with free platters. Can just ask for a top up anytime! Rice is also free with each dish and extremely good 👌

They do very good teriyaki chicken, but the BBQ chicken was pretty average. I didn't enjoy the fish eggs soup either because the key ingredient - fish eggs, weren't fresh at all.
