We have been served with excellent food and service. Very nice medium rare steak and super tasty Caesar salad. When my kid’s lunch hit the table, it was in room temperature which she could eat her lunch straightaway. So, well deserved 5 stars…

Went for drinks and platters with group of work colleagues. The platters were really well done. Unfortunately the selection of sugar free non alcoholic drinks was very poor. Only had Diet Coke or fizzy water. Would like to see a better selection of low sugar non alcoholic drinks for those that don’t drink or have to be the sober driver.

Visited for lunch on 4/1/21. Had yummy bread entree, fries and a Tempura Eggplant dish with my partner. Also ordered a Cosmopolitan which tasted great. Place has good service also lovely views from the deck and surrounding seating area.

Atmosphere and views, you can't really beat it. Spectacular location with the sea view. Service was mostly superb. For the price expected, better quality food though. Especially with regards to salt. Way too salty. Should reduce the salt or provide more sauces to hide the saltiness. Also would recommend you change the name of the non alcoholic mojito. Too easy to get the order wrong. There are better places for good quality seafood.

Great location looking out to sea, it's elevated so the view is wonderful, the food however is very average - at best. The fish I ordered was not fresh, leaving that fishy taste for hours after eating - please make sure seafood is fresh, especially when you're situated off a beach 🤣 it's not a bad restaurant, but certainly not great...

I had the Duck burger. It was okay but could do with more than just the the duck and a piece of lettuce in it. Coleslaw, gerkins, tomatoes etc. The chips were nice. Beer selection was good. Service was good.

Great place. Good food friendly service expensive but never had a bad meal. But go there for lunch on a weekend be warned of other dinners. A large table on the other side of the restaurant had some very noisy children who were screaming and shouting and running around we tolerated for about 45 mins until I asked them it they would take the kids outside. They did this begrudgingly but it still ruined my husband’s birthday lunch as we could not talk above the din We will go back but not on a weekend. It would have helped it a diplomatic matradee had a quiet word with them

Stopped in here for a bite to eat and a drink. Had the Oyster burger cos I wanted to know how many oysters you got for $29., without asking the waiter. 4 which I thought was pretty good. Oysters we nicely cooked in batter and came with chips. We also have the Bruschrtta and the green salad which were also good. Service was good. We had a trainer waiter who was very attentive and helpful. It was a busy night so the place was a bit noisy but the location up from the beach. The nice sunset outside and the cool summer night made it all worth while. Would pop in here again.

Really nice spot. Fantastic location, right on Takapuna beach. They have really good outdoor tables and umbrellas so you can soak up the views and beautiful Auckland weather. Food was a solid 9/10. Great wide ranging menu. Would have been 5 out of 5 stars except they clean forgot one of the kids meals. Never mind... would definitely come back. Staff were pretty good - even though they couldn’t take down the basics of getting an accurate order.

I'd give the place 3.5 stars. The food that was available was pretty good, though they could have a couple of extra vegetarian mains available (they only have the one 🥺). The sides and starters were pretty beat though and the overall vibe of the restaurant is very welcoming.

Food was below par, but nice outlook. Duck burger was salty, steak was chewy, duck breast was lacking flavour and the ribs were small. Allthough to be fair they warned the ribs were small but it makes you wonder why put it as a main, or why not make it main size. A bit bizarre.

We grabbed a bit there last night on way back from visiting friends. Called in about 8.45pm. They had moved into their snack/sharing menu. Place wasn’t busy for that time on a Wednesday evening. We had a glass of wine each, a burger for our mains and shared a plate of prawns to start. The best part was def the prawns. Lovely flavors, perfectly cooked and arrived very quickly. The burgers were just that, burgers... nothing too amazing. Chips had great flavor. Service was good, nothing too spectacular and I can imagine they we’re probably wanting to get home.. I would eat here again, just go earlier to get the full menu. Location on waterfront is super good in central tapakuna with ample parking.

I actually wanted to give them 4.5 stars but you can't give half stars. A group of us came here for dinner for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The location, decor and ambience of Regatta is beautiful, relaxing and could almost transport you into another time and place. It's a busy spot on the right day at the right time so make sure you book if there's a group of you planning to go here. The salt and pepper squid is one of the better one's I've had in Auckland - crispy on the outside and nearly melt in your mouth on the inside, I just wish there was a little more sauce because that was a magical taste explosion on its own! The grilled halloumi was also pretty good. The risotto was delicious but an incredibly tiny portion, I only just had enough but if you're a big eater and you think you're getting the standard risotto serving, you should probably order something else as you'll definitely still be hungry. The service was exceptional, we had a really helpful, knowledgeable waitress that always had a smile on her face.

The view... ....They are a bit pricy but totally worth it, I have always loved their drinks and food. The view outside is beautiful. There is kids park right opposite and you can always go for a walk to the beach.

Great spot for dining by the beach view. Nice interior. I went on Sunday lunch with no booking made and the restaurant was already fully packed. Everyone looked really nice to chill outside in the nice weather. Luckily there were some places available at the backyard so me & my boyfriend could get some lunch (Unfortunately the backyard was smoking zone). The staffs were very friendly but the foods were looking fancy, tasted quiet average overall. Oysters as a starter, very fresh & good. I had a seafood risotto that had no taste compared to what it looks like.. well presented though.. i wouldnt try this dish again. Steaks for my bf, ordered rare and served as medium. After we were not keen for the dessert but since the staff strongly recommended their dessert so we just took one. He was not lying. The pear pistachio dessert was really great! Everything was slow because we sat at the back. It took really long time to get served. Had to stay almost 4hrs to finish what we ordered.. we did not complain because they must have been busy too.. I would prefer to come back for drinks or light feed next time

Perfect dining experience in great location by the sea. My husband and I dined at Regatta for the first time in Takapuna. We were so impressed with everything. We had an amazing dining experience this firstly included our great friendly knowledgable waitress Christine, followed by fast service of food and drinks. The food was divine hubby had Confit Pork Belly for entree myself I had Szechuan Peppered Squid followed by the most amazing main of Chargrilled Market Fish-(which was tuna) / smoked chickpea /bacon / wakame this was super-tasty and absolutely delicious. Honestly I cant say enough good about Regatta. If you want an amazing dining experience with exceptional food and friendly staff that care about their customers this is the place for you. We will definitely be back as its the type of place you will talk about with others and definitely a mouth-watering eating experience. We were most impressed!

I have visited this eatery in Takapuna a couple of times. It has a wonderful ambiance with an amazing view of the sea. They are a bit pricey but they have some good seafood in the menu. The place is very clean and tidy, gives you an elite feeling. Good stuff Regatta.👍

The cafe has a very nice view, located close to Takapuna Beach and the playground. It is animal friendly (if seated outdoor). The outdoor seat is very nice with many sun umbrellas. The food is very well executed, but coffee is average. However, this cafe is on the pricier side, portion is extremely small for its price.

There is no getting away from how amazing the location is. It's across the road from Takapuna Beach and the Takapuna Beach Reserve, with views out to the Hauraki Gulf islands and beyond that the horizon. The venue is nice, mostly because it is new. Most of it is open plan, and there is a deck on the road side which is relatively unpleasant to sit at when the weather is too hot, too cold, rainy or windy. In Auckland this covers a lot of the time. The food is a combination of normal NZ fare with a hint of trend following fashionableness. It tastes great, too. The staff are very good. Attentive and helpful without being intrusive.

Probably one of the best steaks I have had the pleasure of eating in a while. Asked for a medium rare and they cooked it perfectly; the marmite butter and port wine jus combination was amazing and the portion of 300g and chips were just right. The dipping sauce that comes with the chips were also very delicious and complimented the steak well. Our food arrived fairly quickly after we ordered and the waitress that served us was polite and punctual. The view and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was the cherry on top. Although it is quite expensive, I would say it is definitely worth the price. 5/5 will return again sometime.

The music is often tasteful and at volumes that don't hinder one's ability to talk to friends, colleagues and/or family. You really can't go wrong here.

First time dining here and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing meals. I had the Gnocchi and it was literally the most delicious Gnocchi I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth and a beautiful flavour, I highly recommend this dish and will be back to order it again. The children had the burgers and they were tasty too and they really enjoyed them - also great value for a family. The location is perfect and we sat there looking out over the ocean on a gorgeous evening. A 10/10 experience. Thanks so much guys for a wonderful dining experience. We will be back!

The low lighting also made it difficult to see the menu, and the loud music meant conversation was also difficult at times. Being seated near a constantly opening door made for a cold night, and no one took our winter coats.... Luckily because we had to keep them on. Sadly, what was a favourite place for dinner no longer is.

Lovely place, great staff and delicious food. Definitely recommend the pan fried prawns with the chicken liver parfait as a close second. Mains were spectacular: Gnocchi was voted best gnocchi ever and Line Caught Leigh Snapper was beautiful. Desserts were Lemon Creme Fraiche Parfait voted lovely and Fromage which was great. Our cocktails were fun, great presentation and went down well.......all four! All in all a great night and looking forward to returning.

My dining experiences have been good...I can recommend the tuna dish and the gnocchi....I do wish there were more vegan/vegetarian options. Great bar and eatery. It was quite busy, but the service and quality of food was still pretty amazing. Great vibe for just a date or a group of friends. Very well managed, welcoming and efficient staff members. Food was absolutely delicious! Steak was buttery and tender and the chips were very well prepared and seasoned. Menu is simple, but has a perfect variety and is easy to choose from!

Seating arrangement on the porch is not at all suitable for a organized functions with a few attendees. The kids activities were the bomb! Not just ya run of the mill boring piece of paper to colour...these guys give a book that kept them occupied and entertained...top points! Our experience last night was fantastic with our waitress Hannah being very pleasant, friendly, helpful and great with helping our children. I love Regatta....great setting, great food and great staff.....i come to the north shore once a year from Perth to visit my mum. We always go there at least once for lunch....and this year (April 2021) was to celebrate my mum, Burnice's 100th birthday....she came and had a delicipus Penang Red beef cheeks....yum...we'll be back, hopefully with her again next year.

Saturday was my second time there having checked it for our friends for Christmas get together. Great location, great staff, fantastic menu selection, brilliant deserts though unfortunately on both occasions our mains were lukewarm. We complained the first time after meal and staff recognized our issue. This time we had five people who all commented food was lukewarm. We did not mention till end and staff were willing to seek managers assistance but we declined. The fish and chips crumbed was charcoal though cold and steak was over and under cooked for two people. We will go back and make our comments known when we order. It's a good vibe and it was busy but at the costs per person we expected warm food not Luke warm. Perhaps we should have asked if they have a microwave! !!

I went to Regatta for my birthday. It is such a lovely venue to be in, and the view of Rangitoto Island and the beach is very beautiful. The service and food were not however. I ordered a chicken burger that came out like charcoal which I could probably break a tooth on. The char-grilled took a new meaning. Then the waiter was rude about it when I asked to take it back. Said it was meant to be like that. Sorry, I don't think so. I am usually very forgiving with the food I'm served and wont usually take anything back. But this was the worse thing I've been served in a long time. I have only heard bad reviews from my friends about the service. It's a shame because the venue itself is wonderful. Hopefully the owner will train their team in customer service soon. 3 stars for the beauty of the venue and view.

My grandson bought me here a few days ago and I really enjoyed it. The house red wine was really good and I had the Baked Camembert which was delicious. Found regatta on first table and booked it for 5pm on a Saturday for my birthday. Its directly across from takapuna beach, big car park near by so convenient with great view, we were given a round table which was perfect for good conversation, was a little noisy but was busy. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the grilled swordfish, it was truly amazing and lovely accompanying salad. My partner had the fish and chips and said they were excellent. I will remember that fish for a long time. With the first table deal we got 4 main half price which was a bonus. Highly recommended

Went there on Sunday evening for a celebration dinner with my partner (I made a booking beforehand). The place was half full, and we were quickly seated and taken care of by our waitress who brought us the menus. She did a good job on telling us the special of the day and all the little variations (change of ingredients due to seasonal changes for example), but she barely gave us time to decide on our order before she was back. While waiting for our food (which arrived reasonably quickly BTW), she overheard us chatting and jump in the conversation, which both my partner and I found pretty rude. Through the dinner, everytime she checked on us (wich was often, good point for the service) she would stay longer than needed and chat despite our obvious need for privacy (bad point for the service! And the reason why we didn't leave tip at the end). The food was good, a little bit overprice but the amazing view makes up for it. Overall a good experience, despite the intrusive service.

Consistent quality of food, fast paced service, efficient and not overly friendly staff that provide sumptuous food reasonably quick......... No, it is not cheap but by Auckland standards it is unreal value and quality. Yes it can be noisy but the noise is buzzy and full of positive energy.......as well as the food, I feed off that. I have digressed from my original reason to make a post. Recently, after work on Sunday night (5-5) we went for a quick meal for my birthday. I don't know? Was it the weekend crew in the kitchen? We did have the same wait staff as usual.............but the food, the food................unfreakin' real. I had 'theee' best meal by far the other night without exception. Presentation was beyond the normal standard with a little pool of lime green olive oil below my tuna........... Maybe I had died on the way to the venue and I was in heaven? The food was out of this world. I can not thank the fine people at Regatta enough for such consistency and the ability to surprise this very frequent diner. No pictures; I would have eaten them.
