I sit in the restaurant as I write this review, ensuring I don’t forget. It is clear that the owner(s) care about the quality of their food and the service. Not one ingredient felt like a compromise. When you walk in the front door, the pricing looks concerning. This is not the case. The serving sizes are what they say they are. 1 slab feeds 2-3 Hungry adults. They mean 4 regular people or 2-3 MACHINES. I ordered the mushroom pizza (picture shows a slice) and Wings whilst others at the table ordered BBQ chicken (picture shows a slice). The decadence and quality present in that pizza cannot be overstated. I look forward to standing at the back of a long line out the door once this place gets the traction it deserves, and I’d be happy to wait as long as it took. When the next lockdown ends, this is the spot I’ll be waiting outside at 2AM to remind me what society once was.

Loved this place. Definitely becoming our new local. The pizza was great. Nice, fluffy bases and good options for flavours. Fries were fresh and crispy too. Super friendly team. Will definitely be going back soon!

Excellent garlic bread and slabs. The pepperoni was really crispy, the sauce was rich and the text was crunch and soft at the same time while being crisp. The service was also excellent

Fantastic pizza that reminded me of being back in the States. Got a full slab for 2 adults and a kid and it was plenty. The Italian sausage was fantastic, especially with the charred broccoli. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. A must visit!

Haven't had square pizza before but glad I have. Today's late lunch. Pepperoni for the win. Simon and Colin holding it down. Awesome sauce. 10/10 would recommend.

I saw an article on denizen and was intrigued to try their pizzas out, glad we did..def recommend, i think their pizza base alone makes this place stand out, crispy..and i dunno..hw pizza should be. staff were amazing too

Super friendly staff and this had to be one of the best mushroom slabs I've had! Too bad there isn't a branch in town but any excuse to pop into Dressmart for a spot of outlet shopping and then oh how convenient I can grab a slab afterwards. The only thing that wasn't appealing was the alcohol list only because I'm not a beer person. Would be good to see a cocktail list in future. As another non-alcoholic drink option perhaps a shake list, fruit juice list or mocktail list. I'm drooling thinking about how good my slab was so looking forward to my next visit!

Popped in at SLABS in Onehunga today for the first time. Wow! BEST pizza I've ever had. Mushroom pizza heaven. Garlic bread to die for. Fries crunchy and delicious with amazing sauces. Freshest, finest ingredients & great service! Yum, yum, yum....yum! Not to be missed.

undeniably amazing pizza! the base was so fluffy and crispy and the toppings so delicious. Very filling as well so definitely getting your moneys worth. Will be making many more trips here

Originally thought the pizza slice was a bit pricey but after tasting it I would say i would pay more for it. Its AMAZING!!! Staff were absolutely wonderful too. Delicious pizza, beers and gorgeous staff. Cant wait to come back

Best pizza I've had in long time and love that it is local to me, Onehunga is better for it.. They have the sauce ratio down to perfection for my liking and the pepperoni was top qaulity along with the cheese topped off with some yummy picked peppers. The base was crispy and pizza perfect so I will be back for many more. Service was super friendly, they even brought my takeaway order to my car once it was ready as I was parked outside. Cheers for producing the great food and service!

These guys do a hell of a pepperoni pizza! I thoroughly enjoyed the half slab that I bought. The tomato base was out of this world - SO tasty! The cheeky chillies they added gave it a bit of a kick. The customer service was excellent, so I'll definitely come back and will recommend this joint to my friends and colleagues.

We ordered online after being recommended by a few of our friends. When we came in, Colin was explaining to me how we overpaid by $11 because of the way we selected our pizzas (we didn’t realise two slices was half a pizza) and refunded the difference which was really sweet. The pizza itself was amazing too! We ordered a bit of everything but the mushroom was probably the favourite. Definitely worth the hype. All in all, great service and great food! Will definitely be coming back soon.

Fantastic addition to our local options. Really friendly service, order ready for pick-up bang on time, and the pizza 🍕 was delish! 👌👌👌 A crispy base is a pizza must-have, especially so for a deep-dish, and these guys have it nailed.

This place is amazing! We grabbed a BBQ chicken pizza and it was delicious and the only time I’ve stopped thinking about it since was while I was sleeping. I’d seen some reviews saying it was on the expensive side, but we found our pizza really filling and it was clear that a whole lot of love has gone into the details - from the wee kick in the sauce to the cheese right up to the crust. Will 100% be back!

This is hands down the best pizza I have had in NZ! The flavours are outstanding from the garlic bread to the pizza itself and crust dipping sauce. This place is so worth it!

Yummy pizza, nice crust and tastes fresh. Just be prepared to dig deep into your wallet since you don't get much pizza per dollar. Would still recommend.

Slabs offers pizza and beer, it's a winning combination. The pizzas are very good, we ordered a full slab (mushroom one side and italian sausage on the other - loved the mushroom one best). Pizza base crust is very good deep and cheesey but not stodgy and heavy. Also had fry's which were nicely seasoned. Accompanied meal with beer and wine, craft beers a big focus of Slabs but I'm not a big beer drinker, so can't really judge. Pizza Slab was too big for two of us and we ended up taking some slices home. Service was very friendly and attentive and place had a good vibe, and I enjoyed the laid back music. Not much parking out front but people were able to park and come in to pick up takeaway orders. Enjoyed dining at benches on the pavement but there were also tables inside. Will come again, a great addition to Onehunga's food scene.

So good!! Tried the pepperoni, bbq chicken, garlic bread and wings- everything was really good! Service was really nice too. I’ve been hanging out for Onehunga to finally get a nice casual dinner spot- slabs is the perfect addition!

(3 not slight build adults) We had 4 different varieties of beers, the sparking rosé *not too sweet!* 1 complete slab- pepperoni, BBQ chicken half and half, fries and the wings. An attentive server, delicious non greasy food and a chill atmosphere. The most challenging part of our visit was deciding which flavors of slab to get. We will be back to try the others. I love pizza but most pizza places make me feel a bit sick due to the grease and sometimes the ingredient quality themselves, I could tell from the first crispy bite from Slab Pizza Onehunga, that I had found the elusive pizza goodness that I had been searching for. I will be dreaming about that pepperoni slab for weeks to come.

SLABS is the perfect new addition to the Onehunga eatery and bar scene. A hip synergy of technology, pizza and a super friendly team. Anyone that appreciates a good pizza will love this joint.

Amazing pizza and service. Detroit pizza is new to NZ and exciting its here in Onehunga. As you'll see everyone who's been agrees, but I'd ignore the review from David Cranston as its appears to be from a sad indiviual who said he enjoyed the pizza yet still wrote a bad review because they had run out of fries & wings (boo hoo - mate life has bigger problems other than your lack of fries & wings you baby). SUPPORT small business, don't find unreasonable reasons outside their control to complain, its your choice to drive 20 min and as the owner advised had you checked online you would have seen they were out of fries and wings. I have NO affiliation with this business, but will always stand up for small businesses especially when the likes of David Cranston think its appropriate to say they loved the pizza, then give 1 star for a pathetic reason of missing out of fries.

My delicious whole slab pizza barely survived the trip home. REAL PEPPERONI. Amazing quality ingredients: thiccc yet crispy base speaks for itself. Nostalgic Detroit-style pizza. More-ism. More-than-more-ish. Will take pictures when I return. If my willpower makes it that far. Don't miss out. Worth.

Tino reka, such good pizza love the base of the pizza, the toppings were soo good. The garlic bread bites to die for and the fries are miharo hoki. Highly Recommend !!!!!

We had a full slab(half Pepperoni/half Mushroom) the pizza, made with noticeably fresh ingredients, was fantastic and the base is probably one of the best I've had in Auckland. We're really happy to support new independent businesses in Auckland and these guys are wonderful at their craft and all credit goes to them. In saying this $48 for the equivalent of a 12in pizza by areais very expensive and well above market value. Unfortunately this will make our trips here more of a rare fancy feed than a regular occurance.
