Been twice in two weeks, 4 of us the first time, we ordered a selection of plates each one was epic, the garlic breads are awesome. Had to go back for more garlic bread couple weeks later and ordered different dishes which were once again delicious. Both times staff were very friendly and helpful and check on us often. Great atmosphere and love the different areas you can sit at.

Had such a lovely experience at the grange last night, the manager was so lovely and nice to talk too. He made us feel comfortable and looked after us all night, our waitress was super helpful and kind too, she helped my partner and I pick our food and cocktails.. such a beautiful place to have dinner and relax. The food was to die for too, compliments to the chef’s 😉 Thanks so much we will be back!

This is a beautiful venue with a new attentive team. The service has not always been the best, and I wrote a pretty dark review about it back in December, but I can say from my recent experiences at The Grange that with a new manager and largely new team things have really changed. The service now matches the venue and it has quickly become a very nice experience in a very cool setting.

The atmosphere is so lovely. They grow their own herbs, lemons, limes etc and have a really good service. Nice indoor outdoor flow and the food is good. Strongly recommend for the vibe ot has.

My family and I came here to celebrate my mothers birthday, and I can not thank you enough for taking such good care of us. Special thanks to our host (Craig) for consistently checking in on us and being very accommodating. Also special thanks to the bartender (Dave) for whipping up something great for mum 🥰 and upmost thanks to the chefs for the most delicious food ever!! I work in a restaurant myself and understand the pressure, especially to cook for a group of 10 and was especially grateful that everything came out together at a sufficient time. Fabulous meals, my uncle and I both had fish, him the Peroni Fish n Chips, myself with pea puree, sweet peas and beans, SOOOO GOOD, definitely be back. Lovely efficient and attentive service, fabulous seating, looking outside.

Lovely bar located corner Promenade and Hurstmere in Takapuna. Good table service and delicious cocktails from the bar. Also has a lovely outdoor seating area.

Just had a great evening @ The Grange. We ordered lots of small dishes and they were all fantastic! So tasty. The oysters (both natural and battered), king prawns, seasonal greens, calamari were all great but the kumera dish was exquisite and tasted as delicious as it looked gorgeous.

We ordered the 12 hr lamb shoulder roast with sides during level 3 lockdown and had it delivered for our anniversary. Wow!!!! It was everything we expected. Greens were perfect, potatoes were crispy, jus added that little bit extra😋 and the lamb was fall off the bone PERFECT😘. We've had this meal before dining in and wondered if it would meet our expectations as a take out meal. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, thanks so much for making our anniversary special with satisfied full bellies😋😋😋

Had lunch with the family, food was great though we had to wait for about half an hour. We were a big group so lots of food was ordered. The drinks came out quickly though. The food was delicious, the stand out dishes are the chargrilled steak and the brussel sprouts (surprise). I'm not a fan of brussel sprouts but I liked the way it was cooked, just good. The decorations are modern and inviting, there is heating inside. We will definitely visit again.

Went for dinner on Wednesday with a work group of 25 from around NZ. We had a set menu and the food was absolutely excellent, the staff attentive and the venue was inviting and comfortable. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our night and I would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!! Wish I had taken photos of the fantastic food!!

This was a nice find. They managed to fit in a single diner (me) into a quiet corner on a very busy night. Staff were very attentive and the steak was cooked to perfection. Loved the crispy potatoes.

We went here for a work function with a set menu. The food was very good. The wait for the food was very poor. We had to wait nearly 2hrs for the first course. The only waiter for 20+ people was good but he was also serving 2 other rooms. The waiter also had to come through our room with food for an adjacent room.

Wow! Loved this place. We popped in here about 11am ish for brunch on a winter's morning after visiting at the north shore hospital. They weren't busy so sat at a nice table close to kitchen. Place was warm with nice groovin music on. Not to loud, we were able to hear each other no problem and the staff were very attentative organising water. Coffee and our order in no time at all. Well made coffee came out without delay in mugs meaning you didnt need a 2nd. NICE!! And when the meals appeared they all looked delicious and were very well presented. See photos. I had the french toast with bacon and banana. Nice touch here was a thin layer of toffee on top of the pieces of banana. Loved this meal as did the other in my group. Obviously meals put together by a team that care about what they are serving up. Looking forward to next visit here and absolutely recommend this place to all. Nice job The Grange.

What amazing food. Best carbonara I've ever had, with amazing guanciale and the creme brule was amazingly done with lost of crispy topping and delicious custard. Come here for a few drinks by the fire, or a few plates of food, both are great options and whatever option you don't choose, do the other next time!

It is a tranquil venue in a busy and lively area and their lunch menu is varied, always fresh, and an absolute steal at $20/dish. We went to The Grange for a late dinner on Friday night. We were a group of 17 people, we had the outside glass house to ourselves. Matt was an awesome host. Attention to detail was excellent. He personally warned us that they were very busy with several big groups and that there would be a long wait. Our food still came out quickly, delicious and hot.

Great atmosphere. Food was excellent. Salmon paté !!! Man. I need to know how to make that. Dude singing the covers was good. Not sure about his 'Sting' or 'Stevie Nicks'.. but it was good quality music. And we were placed far enough away to hear ourselves. Parking was tight.. but loading zones, etc. are free at night (I believe).

Amazing flavoursome food, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended the French toast for brekkie and their $20 lunch menu keeps bringing you back for more. Also, try the fish and chips, with side salad. The fish is fresh and melts in the mouth, where the side salad is full of baby tomatoes, red onion and dressing. Once again, the staff are friendly, professional and attentive. I highly recommend The Grange, for a nice time out.

We took two friends here for dinner and wow what a great experience! We had three courses each and shared each other's food so we all got a taste of everything. There was so much flavour in the beautifully presented dishes. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The ambience and buzz of the restaurant was outstanding. This area has some great food places and bars. Have been to all the food places and they are all excellent. Shake shack for a quick burger, Sushi is so fresh, the Ripe deli for some fantastic treats. The grange for a more up market dinner experience....Fantail for great gastro pub style food.

Dined there on saturday 11th July and really enjoyed the night. The service was top notch from when we got in the door. The staff were patient as we ordered quite a few of the starters which were amazing. We ordered the wagu sliders, buttermilk fried chicken, prawn cocktails, the gruyere and parmasen croquettes and the calamari and they were so tasty. And for mains we ordered the papadelle pasta with shin ragu and was absolutely spot on. The pasta was cooked to perfection jus like the meat and the wagu burger with fries. Sadly the burger could not be finished not because of the taste or anything but purely because could not eat anymore. Definately well worth the money. Will definately come back here again. The staff checked in every so often to see how we were going and even asking if we wanted more drinks after seeing the glass empty. Thats definately what i call service. Well done guys

First post covid19 lockdown meal out. 5 stars for the food quality / presentation. 3 stars for the service. Lunch on a Saturday when we arrived not very busy so no excuse for the lack of attention by wait staff. Waited almost 30 minutes for the beer ordered with the meal- ordered the sirloin steak with salad. Steak was great but had to ask for the salad which was not that impressive. Probably not going to be one of my usual restaurants/ bars.....

We went there for brunch last Sunday as now they started doing breakfast. The interior/ exterior were great and we loved being in such a cosy and warm atmosphere. But the food took ages and the coffee which came after a long wait, didn’t either look good or taste good. The food was a bit of shock as well, it was nothing special but very plain type of old cafes. If they could improve on the delicacy of the menu and coffee I would love to go back. It felt to me, the only average food and coffee didn’t match the beautiful atmosphere.

The Grange is definitely filling a gap in the dining scene on the Shore with a proper grown up menu and independent wine list. The space has been designed for balmy summer nights with lots of indoor outdoor flow but was comfortable enough on a chilly winter night. Service is very professional and informed. We ordered widely from the menu and everything we had was delicious with some unexpected twists.

I had my Birthday here and if you want to feel special on your day then this wouldn’t be the place for you. I rate this a 3 star because the food was AMAZING. I loved the cheese croquettes. HIGHLY recommend. But no matter how good the food is it’s the feeling that the restaurant left you with you’d remember... except that cheese croquettes though... those were so good and you’d remember. Nearing the end of our dinner it felt that the server wanted to leave as soon as possible. When we wanted dessert i had a feeling that the kitchen might have closed or something but i waited if they would say that so i can express that the server should have ask for last orders but gladly it didn’t came to that. He explained that the Apple and Pear Tarte Tatin would take 15mins to make the crust which we were fine waiting. He asked if it would be shared and we said yes. When he placed the cutlery it was DIRECTLY at the table and didnt even place napkin first then cutlery which was really strange and uncomfortable for us. After a while he came back with the dessert and it was just that plate. No small plates for each of us and i’m not sure maybe he wanted us to be extra romantic and just have us shared directly from the main plate. TLDR: Food was great. Server placed cutlery straight on table and didnt place napkin first. Then didnt even give small share plates. — Funny thing is we came back the next day since one of our mate had to go to shorecare. We initially didnt want to go but since it was the only thing open we were so hungry waiting for our mate we decided might as well. It was at 8:40ish that we came and were told kitchen is closing (opening hours “till late” we checked before coming in) and that only “fried” food can be ordered which we understand but just supports previous experience. Good thing though this time we had share plates and napkins 🙂

Love the food here. The Hollandaise on the eggs Benedict is the best I've tasted in a long time. I commented on it to the wait staff and was told chef foams it specially! I also had the sirloin for dinner. While the steak itself was nothing to write home about (it was perfectly cooked but a bit chewy) the jus definitely was something to write home about. It made the meal for me. My son and I have eaten here quite a few times. Food is consistently good and staff very friendly. Even remember that I like sparkling water and English breakfast tea - that is attentive to me. Courtyard setting is very relaxing chilled out. So The Grange gets top score from me Update - 4 days later - just had the pasta - tagliatelle and clams. Another taste sensation! If you order this dish, ask for a spoon. Do not let any of that beautiful liqueur get away. You will not regret your choice!

We had a very pleasant lunch at the Grange, with a very professional waiter, he took the time to explain what was on the menu. We had clam pasta , beef cheek Ragu and the 12 hr slow cook lamb and it was all cooked to perfection!. We also had for dessert passionfruit tart and the 3 way chocolate dessert Yum!. Food was good, but I think they need to work on their staff(floor). I could be wrong but service of good food should go hand in hand. eg Placement of the plate with care not rushed. You are paying for it. However, the Bar person was great made the best coffee martini ever.

Lovely ambiance, plant lovers rejoice! Food is on the pricier end compared to other restaurants just down the road in takapuna central, but the quality of all our dishes was en point with all.options arriving in good time. Seemed pretty quiet, probably seeing as it's tucked away off the main road but that just makes it all the more a hidden gem!

The Grange is a beautifully designed restaurant and they are serving some pretty good food and fabulous Espresso Martinis! The kitchen is open plan to the restaurant which makes it fun watching all the chefs in action, the only complaints were about our Maitre d' she was stone cold, didn't smile once and seemed annoyed that we were laughing and having a good time while she waited a few seconds to take our orders, made us feel a bit awkward and unwelcome and the desserts need some improving on taste and quality.

An extremely expensive place to eat, without quality or quantity of food to justify the price. The rare steak was unevenly cooked and closer to medium rare, it also had so much pepper, the meat was difficult to taste. They also seem to find the need to top almost every dish with parmesan cheese. Service was slow at lunchtime, with over 30 minutes from order to plate, but they do seem to have resolved their staff problems, as everyone was polite, attentive, and helpful. If you can afford the price (or the company are paying), then the food is ok, but paying out of pocket specially for this would have been grossly disappointing

Been to The Grange a number of times since it recently opened. The indoor outdoor flow is great, so a nice place to meet up after work or during the weekend. Love the selection of craft beers and really enjoyed the food each time I have been. If you like pasta the tagliatelle with clams is YUM. The whole menu is interesting and my experience has been on each visit that it has been a step up food wise, to most places I have been to on the north shore Auckland

Quite nice really but had a long wait to get acknowledged when we got there, the wait person didn't seem to know much about the menu and the wine guy seemed to be in a hurry that night. Anyway...maybe a 4 star in summer when the rowdy bar patrons can do their thing outside.

Beautiful venue - great service, good food and wine, easy parking. Asked if they could do a cheeseboard (there was no cheese on the menu, but worth asking!) and they magicked one up for us. Not too noisy so good for catching up with friends. It's not cheap, but great to have a good alternative to Takapuna or Ponsonby.

This complex is like the Ponsonby Central but has plenty of parking. It's got a glass house where you can dine inside. Location is pretty good too - right next to the Northern Express takapuna bus station. I like the atmosphere, service and food. Also suitable for group functions.
