This place has a very nice aura and relax feel. Meat was fresh and delicious, will definitely be back again. The skewers were yummy and large portions, enough for two!

I am very impressed with the service and food at this place. If i had a gold star here i would reward this here with my comments. The owner has obviously done an awesome job to keep his customers happy & pleased. I have been here 3 times and the hospitality is top notch all the time. The staff are all friendly & polite. We dine one evening for 3 people and we had a complimentary entree (stone oven pita breads with dips), and because it was Tuesday they have free desserts for ever main meal you order. We love dinning here and we think the price is fair for the quality from their menu and hospitality from their staff. We will be back again for more. Compliments to the owner & chefs, including the waiters. Thank you for the wonderful time at your restaurant :-) ♡ ♡☆☆

Wow. Chicken divine. Chocolate cake was so delicious. Belly dancer was beautiful and so highly skilled. I can recommend this restaurant highly.

Stopped by for lunch since it had quite good reviews. I expected the menu to be a bit more interesting but it was mostly normal cafe fare like fish and chips and steak sandwich. The food was alright. Service was good and the place itself was quite nice. Maybe more of a dinner place.

The only downside is that it can be a little slow. There were 1 other table apart from ours. But the waiter was quite nice told us beforehand its going to be slow, and given us suggestions of what to order. Food was tasty never the less.

One of my BFFs recommended this excellent and interesting restaurant in Birkenhead. So after checking out their website and booking a table, Herself and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Once we had been greeted and seated by our gracious host, we selected and greatly enjoyed the specialty of the house; Skewers with flatbread, rocket salad and tasty dips. Herself had the Chicken and I had the lamb - both were generous,moist yummy servings! In addition to their meal & drinks and a Belly Dancer on Saturday nights, the Mediterranean offers a Shisa Menu for their guests who enjoy smoking from a modern Hooka. The Med is a hospitable establishment that is proudly and well run by enthusiastic hosts and helpful staff. The Med is a genuinely interesting place that is well worth enjoying regularly. 😊

A Hidden Gem.. truly fantastic food.. and a very open plan of a restaurant that makes one breathe easy and not feel suffocated.. they also have an amazing alfresco dining option and the owner who is also the chef in charge of the amazing delicacies told me they cater to weddings as well.. got ample car park space and is both kids and pet friendly :) *** a must visit ***

Went here last night. The food and drink is very tasty and portions are very good for the price. The atmosphere was lovely and service was fantastic. A very well run family business and because we went on a Saturday we had the delight of watching the belly dancer that comes in each Saturday at around 8pm to dance for the diners. It was truly a unique dining experience and we will be coming back again!

The staff are very friendly, service was excellent. Went there with some friends and ordered two different pizza's for a reasonable price, both were delicious, plenty of topping and good flavours, as a pizza should be. Also had Mussels in white wine, again, very nice. Everyone enjoyed it. Nice outdoor under cover sitting area for Al Fresco dining with a small garden. The waiter tended to all our drinks, so from my experience..Highly recommend.

Have been here several times now and each dish I try makes me more in love here. The pizzas are very generous, skewers are delicious and really give the place authenticity, and the carbonara is just amazing wow! Great for large groups wanting set menu too!

The ones we had we absolutely delicious - the lamb, and haloumi and eggplant. Next time we want to try the pizzas as the combinations sound most tempting.

A polarising experience - my partner's lamb skewers were delightful, however I had a very disappointing pizza, especially for the price. Far too much cheese, and only a very small amount of pepperoni, it tasted like a frozen pizza. We will return, but I certainly won't be ordering pizza. The building itself was nice, and the staff were pleasant.

They do the best skewers and I love their salad. Only downside is that you have to wait a little while to get the food. Don't go the restaurant looks very busy.

Amazing restaurant. Under new management and the vibe is great. Menu is solid and had some real classics. They also have some great cocktails (Corona Magarita) is you're feeling adventurous and will taxi home. Haha. The babaganush is authentic and their breads are fresh and delicious.

We wanted to try this place and drove all the way form East Auckland for a very pleasant surprise. For the first time in a long time we were amazed by a truly beautiful meal both main and the dessert. Portion size is small and quite the perfect size for us. We have eaten just about in every place in Auckland and around many main cities around the world, and for a long time we have not been able to agree on a meal that we have both enjoyed - and this is it. The ambiance ( night) complements the experience. Friendly staff and helpful and they make an effort to make your experience a memorable one.

A fabulous meal at The Mediterranean, and the entertainment was an added bonus. The dancer was very good and professional sharing her joy in the dance. Quite disappointing. The food, when it eventually came an hour after ordering was good. Both my husband and I had different types of the skewers but frankly could not tell the difference between my Morrocan Lamb and the beef one he had. Both tasted the same. The waitresses were good but seemed overwhelmed by a half full restaurant. On a positive note - plenty of free parking. Personally, I will not be hurrying back.

Dropped in on a whim New Years Day after driving past the carpark many times and having ho hum memories of the old Birkenhead Licencing Trust pub from decades ago. Very friendly and helpful staff, nicely renovated & the casual food was very good. A $25 pizza was way more than enough for 2 of us portion wise, thoughtful wine list. Would definitely go again

Been there for breakfast the other day, very glad that now they are open for breakfast and lunch. This is our local and we always go there for dinners. The coffee was perfect the way I like, tried the waffles and I was blown away, it was very delicious. My partner had eggs benedict he really enjoyed it, Hollandaise was one of the best we ever had. Glad to find a new place for our weekend breakfast with plenty of car park. Highly recommend it.

A few weeks later we decided a birthday dinner celebration there for my cousin and my birthday. We booked for 30 and gave in our orders before we arrived. Once again we were served the most delicious meals. No one at our table was disappointed. The atmosphere was just spectacular and experience was one of the best we have ever had. The service was friendly and outstanding. Will definitely be returning soon again.
